My husband, bud, and I have been here at Brookdale since July 4. It was an adjustment as we also had a dog and a cat who came here with us. Overall, it has been a most interesting and happy experience. We have met so many lovely people who we now call FRIENDS.

Notice the picture of one of the apartments. The apartment is actually quite small, but with the obvious help of a wide angle lens used for photography, to the apartment appears to be much larger than it is. I have seen this apartment. It is claustrophobically tiny.

My father lived at The Brookdale Merridian for three wonderful years. The food was so good, and he enjoyed getting ice cream, coffee and rolls in the morning. The Englewood free bus service was also excellent. The Sunday brunches welcomed families and the weekly entertainment was great. The Bistro was also excellent with the one glass of wine residents were allowed to have. I made the mistake of moving my dad to three different Brookdale's in Arizona in order to be closer to me. Each Brookdale was completely different than the others and none were remotely as good as the Brookdale Meridian. He recently passed missing his life and home in Littleton.

My mom has lived here for approximately 5 years now. At first, it was really fairly decent. Sure- some minor complaints about food but overall good. The service she has received in the last year has dramatically declined. I am constantly left wondering if the administration is completely inept or just following a corporate direction to make more money. Communication with administration is quite difficult. I cannot reach anyone to address an issue without being overly persistent and finally rude. Several specific incidents to report. #1- my mom fell out of bed in the early morning and pressed her call button for help. She pressed it several times over the course of TWO HOURS while lying on the floor. When I brought this up to the management- she seemed appropriately appalled but apparently not concerned enough to ever get back to me with what had happened. My mom recently moved into an assisted living unit in this center- and we were asking to see the new contract on a daily basis. They were very unorganized. Literally the day before ( or day of... can't remember which), the contract was brought to us to sign. Since we were sitting amongst all her packed boxes- I guess it's a good thing the contract and services were in line with our expectations! Now however, after about a month in the unit- Mom has been told of an additional charge which was not in the contract and it's not for a service she needs. She was even told that "her daughter (me) agreed to it over the phone"- I certainly was never contacted. It remains unresolved with no real explanation of why this charge is necessary except for some vague references to "policy". I think the front line care workers here are good and they are caring. However, you have to put up with bad administration in order to be there. If I hadn't just moved her and if we weren't in the midst of a pandemic- I'd move her right out- because this is just the tip of the iceberg. Find somewhere else- but see how easy it is to get in touch with them and how crisp and knowledgeable they are about details- you'll be glad you did. FOLLOW UP: The corporate office apparently read this and that's how I finally got some resolution on my issues. Glad they are willing to work with me.

My mom has lived at Brookdale since March 2020. She has been in Independent Living and also Skilled Nursing after a fall. She sadly did not get to experience the activities or dining hall much since we moved her in as things were shutting down. They have gotten better as the pandemic has gone on about finding creative options to help those who do not have a computer find community. I have been to several facilities between my parents and there are pros and cons for every facility. The pros with Brookdale: it is a large company so your loved one can move to different levels of care while remaining in a familiar setting, the staff in the skilled nursing is wonderful - very caring and patient, communication about covid has been consistent and straightforward, Jill the activities director was very proactive to get mom on zoom calls when she was unable to visit with family and inviting her on social distanced scenic rides, the personalized living option is really nice if your loved one needs temporary help after a hospital stay or surgery, mom reports the food is mostly good though there are some off days, overall the people there do seem to care and have good intentions. Cons: as previous posters have said it is sometimes hard to get answers when you have a question or need help with your loved one ASAP - I feel there should be a manager on duty who can help with things that dont require 911 but need immediate attention, communication with residents sometimes falls short - mom was often confused about things like meal delivery and whether she was allowed to leave her room during covid, etc., cell service is terrible - get your loved on a landline if they will be moving here! I see the posts about administration being unorganized. While I agree, my parents have collectively been in 4 senior living facilities and 3 rehabs - it is this way everywhere unfortunately. Also, I will say that if you are looking for a smaller independent living community I would go elsewhere. This is a larger space and community and the resident (in normal times) would need to be able to find their own community-group of friends within the larger one.

I wish to express my appreciation for the efforts and professionalism shown by the staff of the Brookdale Meridian Englewood. My parents are residents and faced some significant changes to their independence and lifestyles. During hospital stays, quarantine stays and COVID19 restrictions plus a move into an assisted living apartment, the staff has handled the multitude of challenges and changes well. Our family thanks you for your help during this challenging time.

This is a special place. The memory care program has skilled and caring staff, kindness in abundance. They work well and tirelessly to support residents and their families with respectful and loving care. So much better staffed and resourced than other programs we considered. We will always appreciate how the Staff cared for our mother over a period of years.

My mom was hesitant to move from her home but she really loves living at the Meridian! She is so happy with her apartment and the mountain views was the icing on cake. We looked everywhere before finding the Meridian. When we toured this facility the staff was helpful and the residents were warm friendly. One even stopped her and told her about her experience of moving and how it was hard but the right decision. They had a great selection of apartment sizes and she found the perfect one for her coming from her big house. She loves the meals and not having to cook anymore. She hosts us now on Sundays after church for their brunch.

My grandma moved to the meridian 3 years ago and loves it and has made a lot of friends!! I always enjoy visiting her and coming to the entertainment that they have for the residents. As a musician I am always impressed by the entertainers that they book!!

My grandpa lived here and they gave exceptional care. I was amazed at how long the staff has been here and how loving they were to him. He started an apartment and then eventually moved to the nursing care - which was nice to have all in one community.

We stayed here from August to September of this year, with Craig hospital. They have a handful of rooms leased for patient families that dont fit in the hospital apartments (during construction of new building). We had a great experience here. They dont offer everything they offer to their senior residents of course but we enjoyed our stay none the less. Residents always seemed happy, neighboring units were kind. Laundry service for linens and free laundry available for our personal stuff. General store on our floor available for convenience items and cards. Free hot chocolate and coffee in the lobby. Nice units, quiet and comfortable. Furniture is mostly older but very roomy floorplans and well kept. Lots of closet, linen, pantry space. Nice outdoor area, 5 minute stroll to the hospital. Art bus picks up right out front and can Uber many nearby places for low costs. Would recommend to anyone.

I am a visiting caregiver and I come to this facility 3x a week. The staff is very welcoming, from walking in the door, grabbing a snack from the kitchen, elevator rides and the floor unit you visit! They genuinely care about their residents and demonstrate their love 24-7. This is wear I would like to be when my time comes and this is wear Id love to work and be proud of my profession one day!!
