The statements made by my sister, Liz Shaw, about Colorado Care and Assist and the Cascade House are false. She has never met Shawn Heer or any of the other owners or staff. She has never stepped foot in the Cascade House to actually see how mom is being cared for. Liz has taken more time to make false claims and write negative reviews than she has taken to call or visit her mother. When my mom was in the hospital in February 2020 she was referred to hospice, and mom knew her prognosis and wanted to go home. We hired a full-time caregiver through Colorado Care and Assist as mom was very happy with the care she had received over the last several years. The caregiver did a wonderful job. I live out-of-state and Shawn Heer was a tremendous help & did her grocery shopping, picked up prescriptions at the pharmacy, and even did some home repairs. While my mother received outstanding care at her home, she had to move to Cascade House as she could no longer afford 24-hour care at her home. This home is completely unlike any nursing home that I have visited in the past. There are only 8 patients in the entire home, and several staff members present at all times. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Mom is very content and receives a lot of individual attention. Her room is decorated with her belongings and looks and feels like her home. The caregivers do an excellent job cleaning her and changing her position on a regular basis. Mom enjoys the company of the caregivers and they often stop in her room to just visit and eat their meals with her. While her at-home caregiver did an excellent job, she actually seems happier now since she has more social interaction with all of the staff members, and the residents also stop by her room to visit. Her nurse from hospice also visits each week and says she is receiving excellent care. The claims Liz made about not being able contact mom at Cascade House are false; she has never tried to call the house since mom has been there. Mom is very hard of hearing and it is difficult for her to answer the phone, and they bring the phone into her room and help her turn up the volume so she can hear. I live in Chicago, and have never had any issues calling or visiting mom at any time. They have even allowed me to stay in a vacant room when I visit so I would not have to stay at a hotel. My family and I truly appreciate the care she is receiving at Cascade House.

My Mother lived at Cascade House for three years. The staff and owners were such a blessing during what was stressful for our family. Available to answer questions, listen to concerns and ideas from me. There were activities every day, especially on Holidays. Wonderful measures were taken to include family in special meals and celebrations. The home is so inviting and warm. There is outdoor space which was used during the warmer weather. Mom's medical needs were fully met to ensure complete care. I have to say once COVID hit things had to change. The owners worked diligently to be aware of current restrictions. Amazingly the virus was successfully kept out of the house for many, many months. I can't say enough about the care and support extended to me in the final year when Mom was under Hospice Care. It was very clear to me that she was not only cared for but loved by the staff and owners of Cascade House. As my brother Ted said if we could rate higher than 5 stars we would.

Our mother was at this facility and was treated very, very well until the end. If I could rate the facility, staff and owners above 5-stars, I would. They were all supportive, caring, assisted with Hospice at the end and continued communicating always. Thoughts and Prayers with them now.

The staff at the Cascade House are top notch. We needed to find a place for my mother in law on short notice and they welcomed us. They took extra special care of her and always were available to talk, care for her and our family. We cannot thank them enough for everything they did for us. Bonnie and her staff go above and beyond to care for all the residents. highly recommend!!!

Mister “MistrExodus” Exodus

My Grandmother lived at Cascade House for a few years. We were always treated like part of the family when we visited, and my Grandmother was always happy. The staff and owners at Cascade House were very welcoming and accomodating for hers, and our needs. We all celebrated my Grandmother's 100th birthday at the house, and it was a truly memorable day. So many great memories. Thank you for your love and care. In memory of Claudine.

The day my sister said she didnt want to be alone in her home any longer was a mad scramble to find a place for her. Not just anyplace. A place where she would get care. I had experience with loved ones in a larger facility and I knew the hours upon hours they were left alone. This time would be different. And it was! The crew at Cascade House were so very caring and provided an at home atmosphere for her. They pay careful attention to detail and special needs, great food, crafts, a living room with lots of space to be there together. I would trust them again if the need arose.
