Reviews Brookdale Monument Valley Park
October 2025
The care team at Brookdale Monument Valley has been incredible supporting my mother as she progresses through dementia. The personal care and touch given to each resident is amazing and what you want when taking care of your loved one. They know my Mom almost like she was a part of each of their families.
October 2025
Brookdale staff are the most caring, committed, respectful and friendly people. I know this by having tried other places. I'm 100% sure that my parents are safe, engaged in activities, well-fed and well-cared for. I truly love Brookdale MVP!

The care in the Memory Care Unit is exceptional; each time I walk in it feels like a home, not just a living facility, and this is because of the incredible staff and the culture they have created here. This place is the truest gift to my family, because we know that my mother is happy, healthy, and surrounded by warm and caring people who we trust.

Two years ago I was faced with the difficult decision of finding a facility for Mom after the sudden death of her husband. I literally had a weekend to accomplish this. Brookdale was the first place I looked and I was immediately impressed. She has been there ever since. I can't say enough about the loving, caring and capable staff. I tend to like to be in "control" and the staff is very patient with all of my questions! Needless to say, I rest easy knowing she is in good hands. I want to do a special shout-out to Stacy, the activities director. Social interactions are so very important, especially as we age and Stacy goes above and beyond to provide fun, engaging and meaningful activities . It is evident that she cares deeply for each of the residents. Stacy will be missed not only by the residents, but the staff and families as well. There will be a special place in my heart for her. I wish her all the best with her next adventure. She leaves some pretty big shoes to fill for sure!!

I just wanted to come by and leave a review on what I saw while visiting (working with my client) in the memory care unit at the Brooksdale 10 monument location. There was a caregiver by the name of Michael who during my shift I saw him so gentle, soft spoken, compassionate and caring. He was amazing with all their different personalities and stages or dementia / Alzheimers. The world needs more individuals like him. He is definitely an asset to the team there and should be acknowledged. Thank you Michael for giving me some faith in humanity again. It was a pleasure to watch you care for the elderly while you thought noone was watching.

Brookdale at Monument Valley is a Godsend! The memory care floor is staffed by the most caring, loving, well trained people you will ever meet. There are only 14 rooms, so get on the waiting list ASAP! There is very low turnover and many of the staff have been there for years. This is what made me decide to place my sister here more than anything. The place is always clean. It doesn't have that "old folks" smell, nor smell of urine like so many places I visited. The food is good and the residents can always have as much as they'd like. It would be in your best interest as a caregiver to check out Brookdale at Monument Valley. Here my loved one found a home, not just a facility.

I highly recommend Brookdale Monument Valley Park for any senior considering a supportive and engaging assisted living environment with exceptional care. I have had the pleasure of working with their dedicated staff who consistently go above and beyond to provide personalized attention, ensuring ALL residents feel valued and comfortable. This community boasts a vibrant social calendar, well-maintained facility making it an excellent choice for individuals seeking a fulfilling lifestyle in a safe and secure setting!

What a wonderful place! My mother came from Memory care at The Retreat at Sunny Vista. We had a horrible experience there. Every single staff member at Brookdale knew my mother and her likes and dislikes within 2 days. They are exceptionally kind and attentive. They always ask if they can assist our hospice nurse and do everything they can to ensure my mother is happy and comfortable. The place is clean, and the staff is pleasant and knowledgeable. I am so happy and relieved we found Brookdale Monument Valley.
August 2023
Brookdale Monument Valley has been a tremendous help to my family. While, unfortunately, my Dad’s needs were not something they were able to accommodate at their facility, Lorelei and Taylor went above and beyond to help me find somewhere that was a great fit. They both offered amazing advice and were very patient, even after knowing we were going to have to explore different options. When I toured their facility, it was very well kept and the residents all looked very happy and taken care of. If I ever found myself needing their services, I would definitely feel a sense of comfort and relief knowing my loved one was in their care. There was never a point where any of my interactions felt like it was a transaction,’ but rather that of sincere desire to help find my Dad the care he needed, even if it wasn’t with them. Being COMPLETELY out of my element and having zero clue where to turn, I appreciated this beyond belief.

Our experience at Brookdale Monument Valley was very much a mixed bag. My mother lived in the assisted living section at Brookdale Monument Valley for one year, during which time I visited 2-3 times a week and was well acquainted with the staff, events, and procedures of the facility. There were numerous staff who were absolutely wonderful, sweet and caring, encouraging and helpful. I cannot emphasize enough how dear and loving they were to my mother. We did, however, have several negative interactions with certain staff members which were very distressing. In addressing these issues, care conferences were scheduled with the director and staff, and I felt like we were heard with compassion and concern. Assisted living facilities across the country are facing a shortage of staff and this facility is no different. Weekends are very quiet and I learned to arrange all medication changes or supplies to arrive by Friday due to the sparse staffing over the weekend. We did have several problems with the administering of medications over the course of the year, and it was evident that I had to stay on top of this critical issue despite paying Brookdale to handle the ordering and administration of all meds. My mother was physically challenged, but mentally competent, when she entered the assisted living apartment, and I selected Brookdale Monument Valley due to their graduated levels of care which enable their residents to remain in AL. Over the course of the year, while we were charged for the extra care, we found that the assistance provided did not meet our need or expectation due to limited staffing. Some staff were not fully trained in addressing residents with physical challenges“moving my mother from her chair to a wheelchair, placing beverages within easy reach, etc. were frequent obstacles as my mother’s illness progressed. The staff did not always respond in a timely manner when called for assistance. Towards her later days, unable to move herself in the wheelchair, she was left to sit through the day in her room. As most of the residents at Brookdale were fairly ambulatory, my mother was the exception, creating care issues due to her personal physical inabilities. When my sister and I settled my mother into Brookdale, we were both surprised that despite our daily presence the entire first week, none of us experienced an initiation or introduction to the procedures, routines, rules, or services of Brookdale. When my mother died, I had to hunt down the business person to learn what the process was for exiting Brookdale. In the midst of my grief, I should not have needed to be responsible for this step. Likewise, I should not have needed to remind them 4 and 6 weeks later of the missing refund. Conversely, Brookdale has been good about sending several important pieces of mail to me, which has been very appreciated. This is a lengthy review to say that, like most assisted living facilities, the family needs to be very involved in insuring their loved one receives the care and attention that they needand that they are paying for. You will have to ask questions, be proactive, and stand up for your parent, but this is true for any and all places. I liked the staff at Brookdale Monument and genuinely felt that they cared for my mother. While there was room for improvement, I was grateful for placing my mother in their care, and would recommend this facility.
January 2022
Brookdale Monument Valley has taken away our concerns about having to put our mother in a facility. They have always welcomed us and treated us, as well as our mother, as family. They love our mother and that is nothing we would EVER have expected to happen. We have entered the end stage of life for mom, a very difficult time obviously. But they have joined with us, cried with us and let us know how much she meant to them. And for that, we will forever be grateful.
June 2021
My aunt lived there for 2.5 years until her passing when she was 91. She was very happy, and made many friends with both staff and residents. We all enjoyed the coziness of the facility.....more like a large home than a senior residence. One thing we enjoyed (as her family), we got to know the staff on a first name basis, which might not have been possible in a larger location. My aunt remarked that she'd observe the staff being very caring to all residents, no matter their personal challenges. This meant so much to all of us.
October 2019
My wife and I toured Brookdale Monument Valley Park last November in hopes of bringing my elderly father in from another state to live at Brookdale. In August our family agreed that this was going to be dad’s best option moving forward so I reached out to them long distance and started making plans. Judy was my contact person at Brookdale and she was wonderful with correspondence, answering all my questions and make dad’s move in as simple as possible. This will be dad’s sixth week and our family is very pleased with the genuine care and support Brookdale has given him. It’s really comforting knowing dad is in a safe and loving environment. I highly recommend Brookdale Monument Valley Park for a senior assistant living community.
August 2019
My father lives here and is very happy. Everyone treats him with kindness and respect. Staff at all levels are involved in direct care throughout the day so he knows everyone. They told us, when we were considering where he would live, that their goal was to provide all the care so that we could focus upon visiting and enjoying our time with him. They've done just that. He loves the people, the food, his apartment and his view of the mountains. He feels safe, comfortable and loved. Who could ask for more?
January 2019
My father was here and the thing that sets this place apart from others is the kind, caring and professional staff. I can't say how grateful we are for the support my dad and our family got when he was in both the assisted living and the memory care areas. He really enjoyed living here.
January 2019
My dad was here two and a half years after having been at two other assisted living facilities. The staff here was marvelous. So much better than the other two. My dad was a hand full but, Brookdale really worked with him and us. We are extremely grateful. They were also much more affordable!
July 2018
Great place and very caring people.
December 2015
Kind, attentive staff.
