Inglenook at Brighton – Reviews

Inglenook at Brighton is an amazing place. We were hesitant when choosing an assisted living facility for our loved one. We called about 15 places, asked questions, called back again and asked more questions. Inglenook answered every question without any pause, invited us each time we called tour, with no appointment necessary. Which is why we chose Inglenook. They were patient and kind while our loved one transitioned into her new home. The apartment was spacious, great balcony updated kitchen and bathroom. And plenty of actives to keep busy. She was a fiery one, and they recognized her special spirit immediately and met it with understanding and kindness. I never felt like my calls to check on her were bothersome, in fact they were welcomed. As she needed more help over time, all of her needs were met. I know it takes an entire team to keep things running smoothly. From Nellie at admittance, to the nurses Gaye, Sasha, violet , the maintenance man Randy, the kitchen staff, the event coordinator Nicole and front desk misty and Luna. I cannot thank them enough for everything they did for our loved one while she was living here. I couldn’t possibly mention everyone by name but the entire staff was kind and helpful!!! Sadly, our loved one passed on to her next adventure. Move out was as smooth and easy as it could be during this difficult phase. I’m thankful to Inglenook for making this entire experience as easy as possible.

My husband & I have been at Inglenook since 2019. He came first for Respite care after falling and losing a lot of blood. I moved in Sept 2019. Besides water damage to our apartment, it took 8 mos. to get our apt ready to move back into; mostly because of the pandemic and finding someone to do the work. At first, the meals were good, consistent and enjoyable. The caregivers and meal servers have always been very kind, helpful and considerate of the group. The fact is even the residents watch out for each other if someone needs something. Lately, we have had some good meals, but meals could be more nutritious, especially for the elderly. Often the salads are only lettuce. Summer has just passed, and we seldom had any fresh fruit or vegetables like good tomatoes in our salads. Our hamburgers used to be good but are now overcooked and dry & meals may be cold, with overcooked or uncooked vegetables. Inglenook charges if you prefer your meals in your room. I don't know if they pay the servers more for delivering the meals, which sometimes is more than the meal is worth. The residents think meals are a priority and have asked for improvement. I wanted to encourage a dear friend to move in, but with priorities changing I don't feel like doing that. Nina Ramser

My mom has lived at Inglenook for 15 months. We are delighted with the loving care and concern she receives from the entire staff. We have had some "bumps" along the way (nothing is perfect, right?) but have worked through each one with a willing and dedicated administrative staff. I've noticed a difference with the new Executive Director who is visible and accessible and has made physical and climate changes in the building. Although COVID-19 has impacted the recreational opportunities, Inglenook has thoughtfully and carefully put into place wonderful activities and have kept the staff and residents as physically safe and mentally healthy as possible during this difficult time. They even care about their koi pond fish... Just yesterday, they were preparing a new, large aquarium to safely house their fish during the winter months!

My sister has been at Inglenook for nearly 3 years. The staff is so wonderful to her. She has made so many friends and enjoys the activities. I appreciate all the protection provided during the pandemic. I am so grateful to the entire Inglenook family for making it such a terrific place for my sister and all her new friends.

Unfortunately we all thought that this would be the best place for our loved ones. To our disappointment, leadership has no compassion for employees or loved ones. Please look else where. Your loved ones deserve better.

My father has lived at Inglenook for 5 years and his quality of life has increased as a result. He has developed friendships with other residents that give him more social contact. He no longer has to worry about preparing food for himself now that he receives three good meals a day. And the nursing staff has been a life-saver as he transitioned to assisted living and needed more support. In addition, he gets daily stimulation from the activities provided (he especially loves Bingo) and transportation to medical appointments. I am very satisfied with the care he receives and highly recommend Inglenook at Brighton!
