I am so happy I chose Oakmont of Whittier for my dad. He was recently diagnosed with dementia, and we were struggling to find the right community for him. He’s still very independent but beginning to experience some forgetfulness. Other places told us he needed to be in their secured memory care area right away, but Oakmont took the time to really understand his needs and personality. They were able to accommodate him on the assisted living side, allowing him to maintain his independence in a safe and supportive environment. What gave us the most peace of mind is knowing that when the time comes and his symptoms progress, he’ll be able to transition seamlessly into their memory care. The staff truly cares ” not just about meeting his needs, but about honoring who he is as a person. I honestly cannot thank Oakmont of Whittier enough. My grandpa moved in not too long ago, and the change in him has been amazing. He used to be very quiet and mostly kept to himself, but this place has truly brought him out of his shell. The staff here is incredible. They are patient, caring, and treat every resident like family. They have gently encouraged him to join in on activities, and now he is actually excited to participate. He has been going to the morning exercise classes, art sessions, and even the wine and cheese socials. He loves the movie nights and scenic drives too, things we never imagined he would do again. The community is beautiful, spotless, and full of warmth. What really stands out is the energy here because everyone seems happy and engaged. Seeing my grandpa laughing, staying active, and making friends again means the world to our family. Oakmont of Whittier has truly given him a new spark, and for that we are forever grateful. °

The community at Oakmont of Whittier is truly wonderful. I recently went in to visit a family member and was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful and welcoming it is. My aunt, who is an avid reader, absolutely loves participating in the book club and has really found her place here. She had a few particular requests when moving in, including bringing along her cat and the Oakmont team went above and beyond to accommodate her. The dining room is elegant and inviting, and we always enjoy a delicious lunch with my aunt here. On days when our whole family is able to visit, we sometimes go to the many restaurant options nearby, all within walking distance. Oakmont has given our aunt a comfortable, engaging environment where she’s happy and cared for and that brings us such peace of mind as a family.

My aunt recently moved into this assisted living, and we couldn’t be happier. The place is not only clean and beautifully maintained, but it also has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff is amazing always friendly, patient, and ready to help with anything. It truly gives me peace of mind knowing my aunt is in such good hands.

My grandmother recently moved into Oakmont of Whittier, and we couldn’t be happier with the care and support she’s received. Before moving in, she had started to isolate and wasn’t taking care of herself the way she used to. She’s always been such a vibrant, independent woman, so it was difficult for our family and especially for her to come to terms with leaving her home of 43 years. From the very beginning, the Oakmont staff made the transition so much easier. Everyone was warm, patient, and incredibly welcoming. We immediately felt we had made the right decision in trusting them with her care. Now, just a short time later, she’s truly herself again. Social, smiling, and even too busy for us sometimes when we call! It’s wonderful to see her with new friends and always looking forward to activities and events. We are so grateful for Oakmont of Whittier for bringing her joy and confidence back. I highly recommend them to any family looking for a community that truly cares.

I am sharing our experience related to the billing/accounting. We had an issue where my mother no longer needed the room we reserved with a deposit. Sept 5th we requested a refund and was told it would arrive in 2-weeks. We are well into 4-weeks and we continue to get the run around. Finally today the check had arrived at their facility however, the check was not made out to the person who provide the deposit. [name removed] says, well just get the person to sign the check over!! Absurd! her narrow mindedness, did not considering the effort and traveling this would take. After we insisted for the check to be reissued, she tells us it "may" be another day or two. Why would a check be issue to someone other than who provided the thousands of dollars???

I just love how amazing the inside and the courtyard is looking for Oakmont and I think my grandma Margaret is going to love living here to begin her next chapter. I will be planning on visiting with my grandma on Wednesdays when I'm free. Of course, I like to call her Nanny Banani. Thank you for the tour, Debra!

New and beautiful facility. Seen from street and ample parking. If full park next door by yogurt and Fed Ex just NOT in for customers only designated parking spots. Across from mall and restaurants. Staff very friendly and very respectful to residents and guests. One public restroom in main lobby and another by kitchen. Alziemers sections is locked and has its own kitchen and public restroom for guests. waiting list for potential residents is long but worth it.
