I love all the staff at Uptown Whittier Brookdale. My family and I have such peace of mind knowing that their staff is caring for her. Every interaction I have with staff is positive and productive. Staff goes above and beyond to make my mom as comfortable as possible. They are all very caring and always treat her with respect and kindness. I absolutely recommend anyone to consider Uptown Brookdale for your loved one.

My wife and her siblings discovered Brookdale Uptown Whittier when seeking assisted living for their father in early 2022. He was aged 94 and had lived in his Whittier home for 56 years, so this was not a move taken lightly! But over time, he came to feel that Brookdale was truly his home. His apartment, filled with furniture and mementos from his house, allowed him to live with dignity, comfort, and safety in his twilight years. In 2023, when his health needs required "full support," the staff (administration, nurses, aides, etc.) could not have provided more attentive care. Every request for "attention to detail" by the family was met with conscientious, loving care. Each care provider treated him as if he was his/her father, and we were most grateful.

I've been living here for about a year and a half. I love most everything, with a few exceptions. Whoever said our cook is a chef must have a bad sense of taste, because they can't even fry an egg without destroying it beyond all measure. The wait staff is just that, they make you wait. They don't acknowledge you when you walk into the dining room. In fact they ignore you. Clearing off tables when there are people waiting to order doesn't make much sense. Are they there for us or are we there for them?

I am very happy with the experience my relatives had living at Brookdale Uptown Whittier. The caregivers were all professional, caring, and compassionate. The staff was always available and helpful. The nursing was attentive, thorough and great communication. Brookdale was very helpful in our challenging situation.

Both my mother and father moved into Brookdale almost two years ago. They both received excellent care and enjoyed the social aspect with other residents and staff, who became their friends. When they required hospice, the Brookdale staff provided excellent support and genuinely cared for my parents. All of the caregivers and med techs are truly angels! We recommend Brookdale without reservation.

My elderly mother-in-law moved into Brookdale in December 2021 after living alone and independently in Inglewood. She chose Brookdale mostly because it was nice and close to us in Whittier. I was concerned that she would feel like she had given up too much autonomy and would not adjust quickly to a more "assisted" lifestyle. I was wrong.She really enjoys the community atmosphere and the personal safety afforded by a restricted access residence. She also loves having a restaurant (dining room) in the building.

Vindictive and careless management. Poor communication among staff and always uninformed. They treat their residents like they're unintelligent children instead of treating them like human beings. The only reason I keep my loved one here is because of the Caregivers. Amazing and sweet care, and the only ones I trust in this whole place. Not that it means much because they can't keep them. Management treats them badly and micromanage unfairly. No one here is qualified for their positions from the management to the cooks. And they take it out on the Caregivers, the only ones who care about the residents.

I recently looked into placing my father in an assisted living situation and found Brookdale Uptown Whittier. What a great place! The accommodations are clean, bright, open and inviting, a very nice place to live. More importantly I discovered the kind and caring staff. Retz and Sarah from sales were so helpful and reassuring, they helped me through all the details.Unfortunately I had to take my father to a different place because he needs memory care, but I would highly recommend Brookdale Uptown Whittier for your assisted living needs. Thank you Brookdale for all your help in this difficult transition!
