Ivy Park of West Hills – Reviews
November 2022
Sunrise of West Hills is truly a Godsend! We have had my wife's parents live there for a little over a year, and we have been absolutely amazed by the loving care, expertise, and great attention they have received. This facility is truly a cut above the rest, and we couldn't be happier with our choice to have them live there. Very grateful to all the staff at Sunrise for making this transition in life as easy and painless as possible, and knowing that our parents are getting the best care possible. We sleep well at night knowing that they are in good hands!

I am considering this facility for my Mom. The virtual tour was extremely helpful, allowing me to observe daily life as if I were there in person. I observed residents doing activities together and eating lunch together in the restaurant-style cafe. The atmosphere was friendly and comfortable. The Director, Lucia, has 40 years of experience in this kind of care and it showed. The resident rooms are small but very nicely laid out and and equipped. The facility is tastefully decorated but with a homey feel. There are about 50 residents in the facility, and I got the impression that the staff know them and care about them. This is the kind of place my Mom would be comfortable in for long-term care.

My mom regularly tells me of the extreme kindness, patience and dignity which she experiences and witnesses given to other residents by the wonderful staff of Sunrise West Hills. My mother moved to Sunrise of West Hills just as the pandemic was closing all assisted living facilities to visitors. We have been unable to visit her in her suite since that day back in March 2020. The regular and responsive communication from staff at all levels over this past year has been so appreciated. I know they truly care for and get to know the residents. I've had several workers tell me it is their privilege to care for mom. Her quality of life has improved from living at home alone, and this is during a pandemic! The people at Sunrise are the best!

The best thing we ever did was visit. What we found was a bright, clean facility that really cared about their residents. We found the food to be good and were pleased with the daily variety of activities.

My parents both needed to transition into Assisted Living at the same time this past year. They have been married for nearly 60 years and here they were in late 2021, suddenly needing much care and supervision with a wide range of needs between the two of them. I have read many testimonials over the months and it is so true that a decision about Assisted Living affects the whole family, not just the ones in need of care. On behalf of my whole family, I can say with total confidence that Sunrise of West Hills has done an EXCELLENT, amazing job to help both my parents navigate their transition into this new phase of their lives--and all with grace, patience, reassurance and respect. We are so grateful to each and everyone on the Sunrise Team. To say "everyone is friendly" could sound cliche; so I want to express it is SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT--from the Care Team to management to the initial introduction to all that Sunrise had to offer, everyone went above and beyond to answer questions, be professional, and pivot quickly when both of my parents had some unexpected setbacks along the way. To me, seeing the Sunrise Team's response to my parents' health challenges when things were a bit rough for them speaks volumes. They always encourage communication and questions, and they follow through, with a great blend of compassion and knowledge. Very impressed with Sunrise of West Hills and encouraged that on a weekly basis, my parents remark what great care they are receiving. That says it all. 🙂

Great place for my parent when forgetfulness made living at home no longer safe. As the mind slowly worsened he was moved to their Memory Care unit where he receives great care. Totally dependent on their care, the cost is about $8000, month.

Friendly and caring facility

Our experience with this place was great. My mother-in-law lived there for two years. The staff was all wonderful to her and to us. The place was warm and friendly and decorated in a way that made her feel comfortable and at home. They have lots and lots of activities for any of the residents that wish to participate. The food is very good and served in a lovely dining room at pretty wide range of hours to suit most everyone. There are movies every night of the week, special classes and outings to special events too. We, highly, recommend Sunrise Assited Living of West Hills
