Our initial visit at Kensington indicates this is an excellent assisted living community! They offer a wide range of care options. There was a wonderful sign welcoming us when we entered and Natasha Montazeri gave us a warm reception. She is compassionate, knowledgeable and listened to our inquiries. As we toured Kensington, Natasha adjusted the tour to highlight areas of personal interest to us. Definitely would recommend meeting with Natasha to learn about the Kensington.

My father and I toured The Kensington recently to consider both assisted living and memory care for my parents. The grounds are very beautiful, with lovely gardens and many quiet areas to sit and relax outside. They seem to have a vibrant and engaged community. There is a wide range of activities, a well equipped gym, and a terrific menu in the dining room. Natasha Montazeri has been so helpful, supportive and patient as we have been working thru this process, which can be quite difficult.

Recently moved my dad and stepmom to the Kensington after they had spent a year at another local care facility. It has been a positive change. We appreciate the friendly and caring staff. From our initial tour with Michelle, who went above and beyond, to getting my parents moved in and settled, it has been a positive experience. We appreciate the community and the quality of care.

I am so happy we took the time to look into Kensigton @ Walnut Creek. I was worried about my moms future housing and now seeing the facilities and how great the staff is (Natasha was amazing) I feel much better and when its time this will be the first place we visit.

I have so many great things to say about the Kensington! They truly took care of us and the customer service is some of the best I've experienced. November 2023
The Kensington is a wonderful place if you or your loved ones needs a little assistance in life. They have great staff that are around 24 hrs a day. The care that they provide is top notch. If they have memory issues then it also has a facility that can provide that care.

I work with a lot of independent senior living homes and have met a lot of different people over the years. I met Natasha through Athena, both kind, patient ladies. Working with Natasha has been pure delight. She is great with the residents, always walks in with a big smile and is empathetic to each clients needs. Very refreshing to meet and work with people like her and The Kensington team. If you need a home for a loved one, I suggest taking the tour and look at what a great job the community has built to make it feel like home.

This community truly is a 5 star! We came and visited our family member and couldn't be happier. From nice residents, friendly and amazing staff, this place is a dream! To the management team- keep doing what you are doing!

Since Terrie Valentine's arrival at Enliven, I have witnessed a noticeable change in the care unit. She has taken it upon herself to really get to know each resident and has creatively provided a wide variety of activities that appeal to their individual interests. Instead of just sitting around staring at the TV, the residents are participating more in activities and appear happy to be doing so. The positive rapport she has established with everyone is remarkable. I am very impressed with all that Terrie has accomplished.

Hi. I have been at The Kensington for 16 months and couldn't be happier. Daily life for me consists of several choices, either exercise, crossword puzzles, charades, bridge and many other. They are challenges at times but are keeping my body and mind alert. Women here at The Kensington are excellent examples to have. To name a few; Kayla, Angela, Kim and Micki. So many residents have become good friends. I am content, healthy and cared for. Kensington in Walnut Creek is the perfect place for me. I couldn't be happier. JBW

DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, MOVE YOURSELF OR A FAMILY MEMBER TO THIS PLACE. They are not staffed properly, residents do not receive medications when required, food is terrible, care is minimal.
November 2020
The Kensington in Walnut Creek is like an extended family for all the residents. My Mother Moved from a difficult situation back in April after my Father passed away and my entire family has been so impressed by the entire staffs caring and dedication. My Mother was grieving terribly when she first arrived and the staff has gone above and beyond to help her through this time. There are so many choices in the Bay area for retirement and memory care living, we toured 5 facilities in and around Walnut Creek and The Kensington really stood out. The residents all look so happy, enjoying being out and about with its beautiful surroundings. The gardens are well planned with many sitting area's and tables to share Picnic's with visiting family along with a Grand Dinning Room that has just opened for family members to enjoy as well. There is a Grand Piano in the entryway which my Mother enjoys playing daily. Thank you to everyone at the Kensington for welcoming my Mom and taking such good care of her! Our family feels so secure now, knowing Mom is in a safe environment with caring people. With warm regards, Ingrid Ericson

UPDATE: reduced from five star to two: It breaks my heart to write this review. The care staff at memory care are still a wonderful team. However, something significant has changed as the care of our parents has declined rapidly. A remodel, new management and lack of listening to all the different families feedback and staff input on early signs that there were issues, have all contributed to all the issues we have experienced in the last few months. Ironically, it all started just weeks after sending a heartfelt letter praising the efforts of the caregivers and writing a review on here that was praising the memory care. Without proper communication, leadership and a clear direction from the top down, this location is suffering. I'm being generous with two stars because I truly want to believe that management wants to improve and make this a reputable place for memory care, but they are struggling to figure out how. Please do something soon before a resident is harmed unnecessarily by the lack of leadership and their understanding of what specialized care staff need in places like this to stay at peak level. What worked before? Daily check-in meetings about resident care, an involved onsite manager, staffing enough people to cover all the work involved in a high need group of residents. Memory care staff is fantastic at this care home. My family could not ask for more. It really feels like home because of the people and the care they provide. It is amazing how connected they are to the residents and how efficient they are as a team. A lot of the team have been there for a long time too so their experience helps with their ability to do such great work. They really understand Alzheimer's from a care giving point of view. Above and beyond service for families who are often visiting. Sometimes it takes a minute to get into the door but that is always because they make the residents their priority. I've been there for really long days while my dads health turned for the worse so i've seen it on both sides... it might be annoying for visitors but the residents aren't rushed about to accommodate a door bell and that makes me feel good for my parents. They get quality time and interactions there. It is a pleasant environment made especially warm and friendly by the people. They are also really aware of when to call for emergency care and have assisted with our parents during critical times that could have really turned into bad situations had they not escalated as fast as they did. NOTHING BUT PRAISE FOR THIS TEAM!!!! Kudos to the management team for hiring and keeping great staff and wonderful talent. You can't train what they know. It comes with experience, determination, and caring about people. I highly recommend. The only thing we are not happy with is the recent updates to furnishings... worried about the furniture and carpet as it has been an issue for our parents in that they can no longer join for activities unless they are in their wheel chairs and are also not able to sit next to each other when both are in their wheel chairs. Also, the seats are shallow in the chairs and couches so they aren't fitting the residents well and if they need to have their legs raised they don't have recliners anymore. Also, the patterns of the carpet make some of the residents feel like they are going to trip over something. We are sad to see these changes but glad that they are retaining staff and keeping them as a priority. That is the real value of this location. Hopefully they will work closer with their front line team when they decide to do another refresh of the spaces for some tips and ideas for making the environment even better suited for the residents. For now I'm leaving this as a five star review though because the value of the staff really is high. I may adjust if the furniture becomes more of an issue. They said they would work to resolve it though, once they have time to see how it works with the area. FINGERS CROSSED!!! hoping our dad can enjoy his late nights again watching TV with his feet up.

My father is a resident with some special needs at times. Whenever the need arises .Jemalia and the rest of the care team are thorough and comprehensive in taking care of whatever the situation calls for. Debbie and Penney have been extremely helpful in helping with our questions and needs for room selection and billing insurance. I cannot praise the staff enough for the help they've provided our family.

I went here for a toast masters meeting one time and it was really nice inside. I never been to a senior living facility but I wouldn't mind sending my nanner here. She'd love it. Looks expensive though.
