We had a great experience with ProMedica/ ManorCare at Tice Valley. We used to go to different Skilled nursing facilities and post acute and they were very organized. Razel the unit manager, is thorough and helped us out. Thank you.

I spent 2 weeks at Manor Care Tice Valley after my heart surgery. I found the room clean, staff caring and responsive and the physical and occupational therapists to be wonderful. This was just over 2 years ago, I can't image why their rating is so low.

for the long term area, the cna to resident ratio is about 1 to 10. a call light can be on for minutes. this isn't right. a nurse can hand a resident their medication without even looking at them. i 100% wouldn't have my loved one sent here.

My mother has been a resident/patient at Manor Care Tice Valley for some time. The care has been excellent. I am an RN myself and visit her 2-3 times per week. She is always clean, dressed in her daytime clothing with combed hair. The medications, eye drops and meals have been properly presented and administered. I was surprised to see that the facility was recently in the news. During this time frame, mom had to be admitted to an acute hospital for a non-Covid related procedure. She wanted to go back to Tice Valley since she likes the staff and routine. They have done an excellent job in delivering care for her post-acute needs. The rooms and property are nicely kept up and are fresh all times that I have been there even on weekends. She likes bingo and other activities that are offered. I would definitely recommend Tice Valley for yourself or a loved one.

The challenge of writing a review like this is that there are how you hope your loved one will be treated and what is feasible in a facility of this type. My mom was here for a very difficult week, amidst the Covid crises. Here are my thoughts. Mostly a deeply caring staff, Amelia is a genuine sweetheart and many of the nurses and other staff (Jaya) were wonderfully kind to my mom. They treated her with dignity and respect, and tried to be responsive to her needs. Unfortunately there were several times when she had to wait an extended period of time for help, and the according to her, the food was simply horrible, mostly served cold to her. We brought in food an healthy snacks for her to make up for it. On the other hand the staff tried hard to help her, and to make it possible for her to see my dad (through a window because of the virus). The facility was very clean and well run, They were absolutely scrupulous in trying to protect patients from contamination from the virus. In summary, going to a facility like this is not ever a good situation, and will never live up to your hopes for a loved one, but these guys are a pretty decent choice. I learned too late that you can actually hire a caregiver to act as an attendant and advocate for a patient, probably worth it if you have the money to do so or on a short-term basis. God Bless!

Oops left at the wrong nursing home. I meant this one. 😉 I'm sure the other one is pleasant too. Two different relatives in nursing homes right now. Checked out this one in WC the past week. The director Terin was so kind and helpful to me as she answered all of my questions about my great aunt. Very clean and warm. The staff was well trained too.

I love the staff in this facility. It's always a friendly greeting from the front desk and warm smiles through the hallways. I work as a mobile notary and I'm in here quite a bit meeting with clients and they always seem very happy and content. There is a parking lot for guests at the front and it's usually pretty easy to find parking as a visit

My mom went there following a repaired, fractured femur to get rehab. I was told the food was pretty awful - and it is - so my food expectations were low, but again, we weren't there to optimize the food. We were there to optimize her rehab. The rehab seems quite good, although I was disappointed to see they can't do a proper, full session on the weekend. In spite of all the above, there are many, kind , considerate care givers there that have worked with my mom. If you can supplement - or outright replace - the food that's provided - it's a good place.

I have to agree with the negative reviews. The food horrible and not nutritious I am diabetic and received meals full of carbs with little protein. Eggs are powdered, vegetables are cooked to mush, probably so they could easily mash food for those who can't chew. Dinner might be a dry sandwich with a single piece of lunch meat with canned peaches. I requested nutritional information but they wouldn't give it to me. The nurses do little except dispense medications but in their defense, they have 20 patients per nurse. The CNAs have to do everything, from changing the linens, vitals, bathing, feeding, dressing, picking up the multiple patients that fall daily, etc. Some manage to stay pleasant but most don't. Staffing levels are minimal and no admins are there other than 9-5 M-F. Heaven forbid if you arrive Friday to Sunday. It takes 1-2 hours most times to get lights answered, many patients end up trying to do whatever themselves which is likely the reason for so many falls. PT and OT are mostly competent but there is so little equipment available most of the time it is unavailable. The entire time I was there, and from comments from others, long before, one of the two "bikes" were broken. They have 4 pieces of equipment including what doesn't work and 120 beds. It took days to get my medications straightened out. They did most of my admission and rights paperwork AFTER I got my discharge paperwork, I was there for 9 days. If you have the option, look elsewhere for care for your loved ones.

I objectively give this score: I stayed at Tice Manor in Walnut Creek for two weeks. BEST nursing staff ever. Great physical therapists and equipment. Beautiful facility kept clean by friendly staff. However, the doctor was very cold and recklessly changed my med routine until I called my own doctor. Most of the food seemed to come out of a can. My friends began bringing me food. I can't give this place five stars because of the callous doc and lack of nutritious meals..
