My Husband and I lived in Sonoma in a home with 4 acres that required a lot of maintenance. We had signed up for a retirement home that was being built In Walnut Creek Four years ago. The date that this would be available keep getting pushed out and when we were told that it would not be available until the end of 2028 We sadly realized that we would have to look elsewhere Our Advisor referred us to Byron Park. We were very apprehensive and worried We will greeted On our initial visit by Maria, the sales director. Maria was incredible. She instantly understood our anxiety and concerns. She listened carefully and was very patient and smart, caring and funny. We trusted her. She spent a considerable amount of time showing us around and explaining all our options. She answered all our questions and responded instantly to our emails. We felt secure and are very grateful to her. Byron Park is wonderful. We have been here for four weeks. And are so happy. The staff is exceptional, and every aspect of life is taken care of. We are never bored, the food is excellent, and all our questions and concerns are addressed instantly. We are very lucky at highly recommend Maria and Byron Park

Maria was absolutely wonderful to work with. My mom and I met with her at Byron Park while looking into assisted living options for my aunt, and she made the whole experience feel comfortable, welcoming, and reassuring. She was kind, funny, professional, and so personable from the moment we met her. Maria spent so much time with us, answered our questions, walked us through everything, and truly went above and beyond. You can tell she genuinely cares about the families she works with, and that made such a difference during what can be an emotional and overwhelming process. My mom liked Maria and Byron Park so much that she even said she would want to live there one day as well. That says a lot. We are so grateful for Maria’s time, warmth, and guidance. She made a lasting impression on both of us.

My dad moved to Byron Park shortly after my mom passed away -- we were all reeling from loss and grief, and overwhelmed with all of the big and little decisions and transitions, especially for my dad. The staff and community of Byron Park have been a great support to us, and have done so much to make all of us feel welcome, loved, and cared for. The adjustment from independent to assisted living has been relatively easy and seamless and provides peace of mind that my dad has a community of care around him. It does come at a steep cost, which is reflective of the overall senior care market and the you-get-what-you-pay-for reality of dignified and high-quality caregiving options.

I love living at Byron Park. I have been here for a year and a half. I lived in Rossmoor for 18 years. My health was declining and I realized I needed more help and support. I looked at several senior living communities in the Bay Area and the minute I saw Byron Park I knew it was where I wanted to live. My life is so much easier since I’ve moved to Byron Park because I have weekly housekeeping, two meals a day, many activities each day to choose from, and always somebody to talk to. I rarely feel lonely. If I do, I sit outside in the back courtyard on very comfortable chairs or in the living room where there is always someone to talk to and learn about their lives. After driving by for years, I was so surprised to see the large, beautiful and quiet courtyard and gardens. There are so many serene places to enjoy being outdoors. While I don’t swim, there’s a brand new pool and hot tub and many residents enjoy swimming laps and water aerobics. When I first moved in, I felt like I was living on a cruise ship. I would see people at meals and we would talk about what we had done that day. I was surprised how easy it was to make friends. I’ve met people who have had the most interesting careers and personal lives. I’ve actually made quite a few very close friends while living here. All the staff are very helpful and available always. There are so many activities to do here. I especially like the exercise classes, the wonderful and varied live music programs, many of the life enrichment classes, programs and very fun & interesting outings; such as; the De Young, MOMA and the Legion of Honor, the Rosie the Riveter Museum, Filoli Gardens, a tour of the KQED station and many delicious restaurants. Recently, I went to the Chabot Space and Science center in Oakland and to SF for dim sum. Byron Park offers transportation seven days a week to wherever I need to go. This has been invaluable to me because I no longer drive. On the weekends, they offer a scenic drive each day where we go to interesting areas around the Bay Area. I’m able to have my dog live with me here in Byron Park which is very important to me. All of the staff knew my and my dog’s name almost immediately. I feel safe and well taken care of here. I couldn’t imagine not living here. It’s the best.

I visit my friend Carol at Byron Park pretty regularly, and I’ve eaten at their dining room about five times now and the food is really good. The staff is very friendly and it just feels comfortable there. It’s a bit high end compared to other places I’ve visited. Carol seems happy and always has something going on with their activities. After seeing how settled she is and not having to deal with all the usual household stuff, I’m actually starting to think it might be a good option for me down the road.

My husband and I ate dinner in the dining room at Byron Park on Sept 7. My husband is a resident at Byron Park. (It was our anniversary and it was our way to celebrate the day.) We had the shrimp scampi. What a disappointment it was. After waiting a very long time, our meal came. It was barely lukewarm, the shrimp did not taste fresh (dry and a little tough). It was supposed to be served with roast squash medley (instead there was 1, maybe 2 bites, of slivered carrots and green beans, also not hot). Hmmm.

I feel compelled to share my experience with Maria at Byron Park. I first visited on my own to investigate potential assisted/ independent living places for my mom and her partner. Maria was not only warm and welcoming but very knowledgeable and low pressure understanding the magnitude of this decision. I just recently revisited with my mom so my mom could get the vibe of the place and see how it feels for her. I love that Maria met her exactly where she is and was able to communicate effectively in such a positive way. Her sensitivity and insight as if she knew my mom was extraordinary. She shared that this is not a “facility” ( my mom’s word) but a boutique hotel where my mom can reclaim her independence. She shifted the way we think about senior care to allowing for the possibility of less stress for my mom. It was clear throughout our tour and interactions with residents who all engaged with us that this is a really special place. I was truly impressed with Byron Park but really appreciate the way Maria connected with my mom. Maria took a stressful challenging moment in our lives and reminded us of the positive possibilities. Byron Park is such a wonderful place! My mother used to come visit her friend here regularly and knew that this is where she wanted to move to if she needed assisted living. I have spent a great deal of time at Byron Park visiting and I love it. Everyone is so kind, friendly and helpful. My mother is so happy here with new friends and her longtime friends also enjoy coming for visits. Our very first contact at BP was Maria Petrescu when we were looking for an apartment and she really helped with the not-so-easy stuff involved in this process. Maria made Mum feel at home and helped my sister and me navigating all the things we had to juggle. She was fabulous! Lots of emotions and sensitive situations in this transition and everyone at Byron Park has been so wonderful and welcoming!

This place rocks for senior resident living. They have independent and assisted living available. And all of the services are excellent. The entire team is very helpful, incredibly full of care, kindness, and empathy. It's a wonderful facility, like a well-run, enjoyable cruise ship, but on land. Food is great! Entertainment and activities are engaging! Also, the courtyard and gardens are quiet and beautiful...an open peaceful meeting place to get and know the other residents. For each resident has a heart-felt life story to be told. Stories we can learn from. Mangement, sales and activity directors, reception desk greeters, caregivers, transportation drivers, nurses, med-techs, the chef and food prep team, food attendants, and maintenance staff are stellar, always looking out for the betterment of the residents. It's a great day at Byron Park - every day! Personal attention to every need, going the extra mile to solve problems and striving to build lasting relationships are key ingredients for the high on-going success at Byron Park. Each employee I have engaged with, takes a personal interest in what is going on; as it seems to be like an inspired vocational passion, with compassion, rather than just an ordinary daily job. This organization knows how to hire right! Five star rating. Mom is very very happy!

Mom's Rent and care has increased over 8.3% in the last year and a half. They just pass along increases without consideration for people on fixed incomes. Its getting too expensive.

I took my mom on a tour of this facility. I can't say enough positive words about our experience. The facility is by far the nicest of the four different senior facilities we toured. The staff was professional, friendly and fun. Maria, the Sales Director, gave us a wonderful and informative tour. The facility is well maintained, the rooms beautifully updated and the activities are varied and interesting. We enjoyed a fabulous lunch in the dining room. One highlight that stuck out to me, that we did not find in other facilities, is that they offer transportation with 3 or 4 vans running seven days a week, with a 24 hour notice. Most facilities have set times and days they go to doctor appointment and other locations, so you must schedule your appointments to their schedule, not necessarily yours. Byron Park goes above and beyond to meet the needs of their clients in a beautiful way.

Wow! This place is great. I am looking for a place for my father. Now that he is in his 90’s he needs more care than my sister and I can give him at home. We went and met with Maria, their Sales Director. She patiently explained everything and showed us around. Large renovated apartments, a pool and a very nice dinning room. The menu looks great and on top of that they have a lot of fun activities that my father can participate in. I am looking forward for him to make new friends as he has been a little secluded at home. The most attractive trait that this place has is the people that work there. We immediately felt at home because everyone was very friendly and the residents seemed happy. Maria actually took time to get to know my father which pretty much convinced us that this is the place for us.

We needed to get my 93year old father into an assisted living facility after a bad fall . I had checked out Byron Park 4 years earlier due, to another hospitalization, and was very pleased. He was able to stay home then but now needed further assistance with care. I met with Maria, Aida, Gia and Danika who were very caring, empathetic and understanding . They worked with both of us trying to decide the best living situation for him. We placed him in assisted living. Everyone is very friendly and personable. They offer many exercise classes, social activities, and special events . I feel so much better knowing someone is watching over him and available when ever needed.

Byron Park is a most delightful place to live. I was a resident for six full years. When I went there I was just recuperating from three spinal surgeries and not sure how much longer I would be alive. But the care and affection both from the Staff and other residents, the lovely gardens, the fun music and Friday Happy Hours brought me slowly back to life. I now live elsewhere because they nursed me back to my old self, and came back to an Independent life situation, but I cannot think of a better place to go when the time comes again to be pampered and leave all my daily living worries behind. I am glad to leave this testimonial because I want to make sure you know about this wonderful place in Walnut Creek, less than one hour away from beautiful San Francisco.

We contacted Edrienne Baebler at Byron Park over a year ago to arrange a tour with our father and his girlfriend. Our visit there was pre-pandemic, so my very much-belated review of this spectacular facility will be reflective of that. While deciding on a time to visit, Edrienne remembered from our initial phone conversation that both my father - as well as his girlfriend - are musicians...so she suggested coming to tour on a Friday afternoon, as Byron Park features a Happy Hour, along with live music on Friday's. Upon arrival, Edrienne took us to a private area where we could talk...we discussed what my father's current situation was, what he liked and did not like about it, and what would be important to him in planning a move from the home that he built, and has lived in, for the past 60 years. (My mother suddenly passed six years ago, so he has been living alone since.) His girlfriend's daughter was also in attendance, and we then talked about what she would be looking for. As we meandered down the hallways, on our way to look at one of the 2- bedroom units, we were greeted by not one, but EVERY SINGLE RESIDENT that we passed. The amazing and positive energy throughout the facility was undeniable. By the time we passed and were greeted by the fifth resident, I jokingly asked her (the resident) if Edrienne had slipped her $20 to be so happy and friendly...it was truly unbelievable how everyone - both staff and residents alike - made you immediately feel 'at home'. And that was the feeling we all shared, from the moment that we walked through the front door. Edrienne's attention to detail and listening skills are second to none...she remembered things from both our first and second phone conversations that I had already forgotten. After we had finished looking at the unit, we then headed downstairs for their Friday Happy Hour. Again, many more "Hello's" and waves along the way. The staff at Byron Park was professional, yet also both very warm and friendly...it was obvious that they all took great pride in their work. Sitting on the patio outside, we were all admiring the beautiful flowers, landscaping, and impeccably maintained grounds. The live music that evening happened to be piano, which my father's girlfriend particularly enjoyed, having been a concert pianist - as well as a piano teacher - for over 50 years. Looking around the room, we saw everything from a subtle toe tap, to others practically dancing in their chairs...again, the amount of positive and upbeat energy in the room was overflowing. Having enjoyed Happy Hour, we then headed to the dining room for dinner. That was the biggest, and the most unexpected surprise...it felt more like a restaurant - with servers, and even MENUS - my father looked over and again said, "Wow, I really do feel like I'm on a cruise ship!" We each ordered something different (so as to try as many things as possible), and all agreed that the food was phenomenal. After dinner, Edrienne rejoined us and we went back to the private area to talk about our experience. She asked us several open-ended questions - what we liked, what we were impressed by, what our general feeling was - to which we shared the aforementioned. It was refreshing that there was nothing 'salesy' about any part of our interaction, no pressure to make an instant decision...just more caring and thoughtful discussion about what they were looking for in consideration of their move. Edrienne then explained that this was going to be "a process", and boy, was she right! My father? Still in the same house, and has yet to make a move...yet, on more than several occasions, he fondly recalls our incredible experience at Byron Park. We can now only hope that when it is his decision to finally 'make the move', that he, too, will choose Byron Park. Thank you, Edrienne, for creating a wonderful experience for our families...no wonder you are so highly regarded in your profession - you are truly a gift!

Byron Park is such a wonderful senior community! I have been to this facility as a visitor and as a health care worker. My grandmother lived in Byron Park and we so enjoyed visiting her here. Her apartment was so nice with a small kitchen, living room and bedroom that made it so inviting for us to visit. We loved to visit on Sundays so we could enjoy the delicious brunches. The staff is so friendly and all of the residents seem to really enjoy each other. As a healthcare worker, I have also been able to see the workings of Byron Park and the staff. They are all so professional and you can tell they really care about the residents. I highly recommend Byron Park if you are looking for senior living for your loved one!

My mother has been living at Byron Park for 5 years and her overall experience there has been wonderful-- particularly during the Covid-19 crisis, when the management at BP has totally stepped up to make the experience SAFE, and as easy and positive as possible for the residents. A recent highlight has been their setting up opportunities for families to visit their loved ones-- from an appropriate distance, having creating the "Romeo and Juliet" apartment. My wife and I moved from the East Coast about 16 years ago to be closer to our children and grandchildren. We settled in Rossmoor near Byron Park, and lived there for 11 years until the every day drudgery got too much for us. We had passed by Byron Park practically daily and when the time came we realized that that would be an ideal place to move to. We have been here just five years and find that it has exceeded all of our needs. There are numerous opportunities such as ceramics and art and much music to make and to listen to. The food is great prepared by a wonderful chef, and the personal services are of the highest quality. We wholeheartedly recommend Byron Park to any one considering moving to a senior residence.

I moved in after choosing a bright, clean apartment as I was so lonesome even with the kindly 45 year neighbors we had. No one in a 2 story house but me, myself and the silence. What's that song, "The sound of silence" What's interesting to me is that there are so many employees and as I see them helping, I notice they seem to all have an innate qualification which is the desire to comfort and care for people. First night at Byron Park I slept all night through! Byron Park works for me in so many ways. Check them out!

I looked at 8 senior communities prior to looking at Byron Park. All were very nice, but something was missing. As soon as I toured a few apts., I knew I had found the perfect spot for my father. One year later, I am convinced my father made the right choice. I can’t say enough positive things about Byron Park. The grounds are picturesque & are maintained beautifully. There’s a pool & jacuzzi if your loved one enjoys the water. My father lives in a 1 bed + den independent living apt (assisted living is offered as well), which is a layout typically not offered in sr. communities. It’s spacious, has generous storage, a full kitchen (not a kitchenette) and the noise level is minimal. The apartment was remodeled before my father moved in, contemporary style, it’s awesome. The staff is incredible. There’s a friendly, lively and respectful vibe. From the first day my father toured the community, everyone said hi to him in passing (both staff AND residents), and this practice holds true a year later! And as a guest, I receive the same treatment. It’s such a wonderful feeling. Dining room staff is very courteous. They make a point of learning each residents name QUICKLY and address them properly every day. The wellness programs are abundant and appropriately structured for the residents. All are encouraged to attend, no matter what fitness level you are at. If you are wheelchair bound, it doesn’t matter, the staff will work with you! In addition to fitness, there are so many daily activities. The director of health & wellness does a superb job of sourcing lecturers, musicians and special events....there is always something going on. Bottom line, Byron Park is a special senior community. It’s in a class all by itself, and the upbeat, professional and CARING nature trickles down from management, starting with Jennifer Pastora, a very youthful, but mature and sensitized Director.

I've been here for a year and a half and I'm really happy with my decision to move here. This place has everything, and all in a relatively compact space so that it's easy to get to the exercise classes, the pool, the dining room and the library with just a few steps. The list of activities is outstanding and there is something for everybody. I looked at a wide range of senior housing alternatives before I chose Byron Park; I believe this is the absolute best choice among them.

I HAVE LIVED AT BRYON PARK FOR OVER TWO YEARS I HAVE A LOVELY APT, A NICE OPEN KITCHEN WITH BEAUTIFUL GRANITE COUNTERS,AND A VERY NICE BATHROOM. A BALCONY THAT OVERLOOKS A SPACIOUS WELL KEPT COURTYARD WITH A POOL, THERE ARE SEATING AREAS WITH LOUNGE CHAIRS , WATER FOUNTAIN, AND LITTLE TABLES AND CHAIRS UNDER A SHADED AREA IT IS A BEAUTIFUL AND PEACEFUL AREA. A BISTRO, BEAUTIFUL LIBRARY, DINNING RO0M AND GAME ROOM . PLUS A SECOND SMALL DINNING ROOM AMD A LECTURE. HALL . ALTHOUGH THEY DONOT HAVE A THEATRE WE DO HAVE CI ILOSED TV AND MOVIES IN YOUR APT. THE STAFF HERE IS WONDERFUL....CARING AND VERY FRIENDLY.... THE ONLY REASON I DID NOT GIVE 5 STARS WAS THE FOOD . IN THE POAST IT LEFT A LOT TO BE DISIRED. HOWEVER M THEY RECENTLY HIRED A NEW HEAD OF THE DINNING ROOM AND ALTHOUGH HE HAS ONLY BEEN HERE A FEW WEEKS I HAVE HAD SOME WONDERFUL NEW DISHES, SUDDENLY LOOKING FORWARD TO MEALS AND AS HE WORKS HIS MAJIC ON THE MENU I KNOW THIS WILL BECOME A 5 STAR FACILITY,. 4/25/13 GET INVOLVED WITH YOUR COMMUNITY ~ VOLUNTEER! I recently spent an afternoon at the Lafayette Reservoir for wonderful volunteer clean-up effort to celebrate Earth Day. The 3rd annual lunchtime cleanup was organized by with Hunsucker Goodstein PC and the Lafayette Chamber Green Committee. Byron Park provided lunch for all of the volunteers. They also provided a TON of volunteers! Byron Park is an assisted living community in South Walnut Creek. Residents may live independent of assistance or with varying degrees of assisted lifestyles. I talked to several of the seniors participating in our clean-up and thanked them for the lunch they provided. Fresh sandwiches on croissants, large, soft cookies, bags of sweet apples, and a variety of chips. It was thoughtful to include vegetarian sandwiches as well as all the other great ones. They spoke highly of their home community. At the end of the 2-hour clean-up I returned to the tables set up with ice cold beverages. Thank you for this, B.Park! We were so HOT and thirsty. I also took another delicious cookie for the road.
