I’m gonna be leaving in about two weeks, but if I had to spend the rest of my life here I would have no problem doing that so for me all these people can walk on water. I love them like family.

I have lived at Sunrise for 8 years now and wanted to share my experience here with others. I'm very happy here. Sunrise always puts my welfare first. Choosing this community was the best decision I could have made and my family agrees. I feel independent yet very professionally taken care of. It's like being on a five star cruise ship where everything is done for you. The Executive Director does an outstanding job and has an open door policy. The supervisors and day to day staff are wonderful. It shows they have been trained before they work with me and other Residents. Housekeeping is by far the best I've ever experienced in any upscale hotel. I feel very safe here. The Nursing staff is prompt and very caring. Live entertainment is both frequent and varied. I love the outings such as going to different restaurants, movies, cultural events and museums. The food is excellent and each meal has many, many choices each and every day. I would highly recommend bringing your loved ones here, a decision you won't regret giving you total piece of mind. When you're visiting look me up and I will be happy to talk with you.

My mother has been a resident at Sunrise Sterling Canyon for close to 10 years. She transitioned to Reminiscence/Memory Care a few years ago and the staff is excellent . They have activities to keep her engaged and they take the residents offsite to restaurants etc. Facilities are nice, food is good and staff is attentive and supportive. Communication is excellent. I would highly recommend Sunrise Sterling Canyon. The facility overall is very nice and clean.

It is always a difficult transition to have to move a family member to an assisted living home but Sunrise has made it a wonderful experience. The room is warm and welcoming while the staff has been and continues to be extremely supportive and caring. The care takers are extremely dedicated to their residents and try to make their stay has pleasurable as possible. Anita at the front desk is always in a great mood, cheerful and such a joy--making our visits there always pleasurable. Mayra, one of the care givers, has become a dear friend to my father, something anyone would hope for the loved ones. We spend a lot of time there so its nice to feel like they are an extended family. Activities are created and seem to have a large women's following. We've suggested some be created for men's interests. The work hard on being creative with the meals and are always open to working with your special wishes. -- Sunrise has been around for awhile and you can see its wear and tear which we hope will be changed sometime in the near future/ it needs a bit of a refresher. But for those seeking comfort, kindness and security--you won't be disappointed.

We moved our mother to Sunrise after Pacifica closed and all residents had to move out with short notice. We were lucky to get one of the last apartments available close to my sister because Tristan was so responsive, returning her call on Sun. evening and showing her the apartment the next morning. We had to take a 1 bedroom because no studios were available, so we put her name on the waiting list. When a studio became available both Tristan and Sean went above and beyond to accommodate our family. We are very thankful that our mother lives in such a nice place with great staff and receives such excellent care. Our mom's old apartment and new apartment both have a view of the gardens, which are lovely. We are always impressed by how warm and cheerful the staff members are.

They keep cutting costs to save money, even though they raised the prices in January. Stopped printing the weekly menu to save on paper, started using paper plates, sour looks from dining room staff members when asking something, waiting up to 45 minutes at a meal to just be asked what you want to order. I think the days of excellent care over aesthetics and decor are long gone. That was the reason we chose Sunrise to begin with. It just didn't live up to the past reviews. It's also why we didn't''t even look at Sunrise that is in the new state we are in now. I do want to point out that the front office staff are exceptionally welcoming and helpful. Bill was our first contact at Sunrise and he helped us through the whole process of moving in. Bill has been doing this for a while and he is incredibly knowledgable with all matters relating to assisted living. The ladies that sit at the front desk are also super friendly and always have the biggest smiles for anyone that comes through the door and all the residents.

Both my mom and mother in law have called Sunrise Assisted Living in Valencia home. My mother in law relocated from Palm Desert in 2018 and my mom moved to the facility in 2019. Both lived there through COVID, and were well taken care of during those trying times. The staff there are amazing, professional, respectful, and very attentive to the residents needs. Before my mom passed in 2021, she was very active at Sunrise. Residents can as involved as much as they want with all the activities available. Mom loved playing bingo, mahjong, cards and all the events sunrise offered. She wasn’t eating very well when she was living alone, so I was comforted to know she was now getting three meals a day! She loved coming down to the dining room and chatting with her neighbors. Another benefit was that Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital was right next door. Her doctor even had privileges at sunrise for the occasional house call. She enjoyed having her hair done at the saloon at sunrise and even taking a walk through the manicured grounds winding through sunrise. We looked at many assisted living facilities in Santa Clarita, and sunrise was the best choice for our moms. Located close to shopping, health care, the mall, restaurants and freeway close. The best part of enjoying life at sunrise are the people. The staff, like Anita, welcomes you when you first walk and makes you feel at home. The nurses are amazing. The servers in the dining room attend to your every need. The housekeepers are friendly and keep everything fresh and tidy. Last but not least is a shout out to Bill. We met him at our initial meeting and he walked us through everything and has been extremely helpful even today. Recently I had the pleasure of talking to Sean Taghizadeh, Sunrise Valencia Executive Director. I had some questions that only Sean could address. I left him a message and he got right back to me and just like that, problem solved. It’s hard to find people these days who love what they do and truly care about others, and go that extra mile for you. Thank you Sunrise for everything! Mitchell Kussoy

My mom has been here for 2 months and this has been the greatest experience for her. We had to struggle to get her to move from her home into Sunrise but now she has found a new home and is thriving. Bill was wonderful working with us to find mom the perfect room she wanted. She loves all the social activities. The staff that works there are so compassionate and helpful. Mom is so comfortable with her caregivers. She has found new meaning to life and loves her meals. Everyone I have met on staff are caring, professional and sensitive to her needs. Every visit I make to Sunrise at Sterling Canyon is amazing. The atmosphere is energized with positive activity and it is so uplifting. A daily schedule of events such as field trips, shopping excursions etc is posted for all to see. There is a great selection and many choices for each resident. The staff are most attentive to the residents as well as to the incoming visitors. Movies are shown each evening. The movie room is well attended by residents for their viewing pleasure. Snacks are offered also. The food is freshly prepared on site and each dining table has a printed menu of choices available for each meal. The food is excellent and the serving size is very ample. The service is very efficient and wait-staff is attentive to needs of the residents with refills of water, coffee etc. Sunrise at Sterling Canyon is definitely an A++++++ facility.

My in-laws moved into Sunrise Sterling Canyon (Valencia) a year ago, and she commented that it’s been one of the best years of her life. They have a nice dining room where they sit with friends and enjoy the delicious meals. There are in-house activities that they have fun with, like bingo, arts and crafts, and entertainment that comes in to sing and dance. They had a casino night for Father’s Day, which everyone seemed to love. They also have field trips where they go to fun places like a pumpkin patch around Halloween time, to see Christmas lights while drinking hot chocolate in the winter, and all sorts of fun destinations every week (I believe the trips are weekly), as well as shopping each week. My in-laws health has improved dramatically (no more oxygen tank, insulin, etc.) as they’re eating well, getting regular exercise, and we’re immediately notified if there is anything out of the ordinary (a fall, not eating, etc.). The staff is kind, great at what they do, and unbelievably patient. I constantly think about the much fancier and pricier facility that my mom was in, and I know she would have been happier at Sunrise Sterling Canyon. Down to earth people, amazing care, and a grassy yard for the residents’ dogs to play. It really is a wonderful place.

I feel it is impossible to get connected to actual facility to check on a patient. My best friend from my youth is in Hospice in this facility and we are planning a 500 mile drive to pay our respects. I cannot find access to someone who can update me. Yes, she has family, but they are stretched to the max. If you receive too many of this type of call regarding patients then maybe an office dedicated to keeping your people connected to loved ones without driving the family crazy could be a consideration?

It was extremely important for my family and I to find the perfect place for my father to live. From day one, we all felt that Sunrise was more like a home than a facility, it was warm and lively. Karen, Bill and the staff have really made us all feel welcomed and a part of the Sunrise family. My dad's been here 2 years now, and the care really is wonderful. I highly recommend this assisted living complex. They even have a Kaiser doctor who comes there if your loved one cannot get out or if it's too difficult. Very wonderful interaction among staff and residents and entertainment and lots of activites in the big room on the main floor. Many residents have dogs too.

My mother was there for almost 5 years. It started out great then it changed ownership and personnel. Baths were not done twice weekly as was told to us until it was brought their attention. During the shutdown there was little interaction with clients besides basic care. Noone seemed to notice when my mother had infected leg, high and then extremely low blood pressure issues etc. We moved her and the new place immediately found that she had a bad sore emerging on her buttocks. They will start charging extra if your loved one decides to ask for extra help but not tell you right away. The personnel at the front desk were pleasant.

My mother in law has been residing, happily, at Sunrise at Sterling Canyon for 2 years. She is treated like family by all the staff. They show her a lot of attention and make each day fun and interesting. Her home is lovely! Being able to have her furniture and objects from her life in her apartment keep her happy knowing that her memories are safe with her in charge. They offer a weekly menu which the resident can choose in advance to have either in their room or served in the lovely comfortable dining room. It has the feeling of a very nice hotel. On Friday afternoon & evening there are musicians. The activities for the residents are varied and fun. One standout reason for that is Bill Aronis! He plans lots of fun moments and has a way of making everyone feel comfortable, so it feels like you are home! There are always wonderful staff checking in to make sure our mom is doing okay and they alert us if there are any concerns. It's a life saver for families who cannot care for their loved at home. We are grateful!

My family is so grateful for all of the fine care team members at Sunrise Sterling Canyon. Over ten years ago they helped us when my father was journeying through the end stages of early onset Alzheimer’s . Fast forward to one and a half years ago, Bill (the director)helped us when my Mother had a sudden cognitive decline and suffered a fall with head injury. Bill was on the phone with me nearly everyday until my Mother stabilized and moved in. She is much clearer now that her life is simpler and very happy with the care she receives, as are we. There are caregivers who have been there for many years, some of whom I had met when my father was there. All of the team seem to care deeply about the residence they assist with love, patience and encouragement. There may be more elegantly appointed facilities, but none that we have toured and researched that have such good safety scores and such a comforting ambience. My Mother enjoys all the activities and is especially fond of relaxing in the garden with her very feisty gang of buddies! Thank you Sunrise for helping me care for my Parents!

My mother moved to Sunrise at Sterling Canyon i 2013 and recently passed away. I can state unconditionally that she was extremely well treated at all times. She like the food, the attention to every detail of her life. Given that she was mostly blind and deaf, the staff made her life comfortable. If she had a health problem, they were very quick to get her a doctor or even emergency health care when necessary. In addition, they kept me abreast of things that happened like I got a phone call each time she fell just to assure me that she was okay.
