I’ve been singing there since they opened and the staff are such caring wonderful people when I get there they greet me with a smile they even participate in my song choices. My Sister has been a resident at Ivy Park Palos Verdes formerly Sunrise for almost two years. She has resided in the Assisted Living facility on the fourth floor. I am deeply grateful for the kindness and care the staff has shown my sister. The facility is always clean and inviting. The meals are well balanced and the activities engaging. They have created a strong community for her to be a part of. My review of last year has not changed. Ivy Park sets the gold standard of care for individuals suffering with dementia. As my sister's mental faculties declined, her needs increased and the staff was always present to insure she lived comfortably and was well cared for. I cannot say enough about how grateful I am to these wonderful people.

My mother has stayed at Ivy Park for years including when it started at Sunrise of Palos Verdes (changed hands 2 years ago). They have taken such good care of her “ it’s such a lovely place! First, it’s a beautiful, peaceful setting on the hill with nice views and pleasant weather. On Hawthorne Blvd. it’s still very convenient to shops, restaurants, doctor’s offices and a top-notch hospital. The interior has beautiful architecture and decoration “ it doesn’t look industrial, more like a cozy home, a very clean one. The staff are so very kind and attentive. They get to know each resident’s personal needs and preferences and try to accommodate them. Mom has gone from being on independent care to needing more assistance (bathing and medications) and the care has adjusted up and down as needed with honest assessments. They contact her doctor or me or both when needed for any changes. Because they are there, they notice things before I do. They take her to doctor’s appointments and some errands. When she has come home from hospital different times, they went to check on her more frequently until she was more stable, which I really appreciate. There are some especially lovely employees who’ve been there for 8-9 years from when it was Sunrise and they are so good at their jobs and help give continuity of care and the feeling of being home. Their activity director, Lindy, is a really special person who shows enthusiasm and love in everything she does! Fun stuff daily - activities like bingo and other games where residents can win bingo dollars to spend at their bingo store. All the holidays are decorated and celebrated with special meals and entertainment. There are musicians that come pretty regularly. They have always been welcoming to me and my brother and sister “ it feels like a home. I feel like Mom is safe here and getting so many of her physical and social needs met (hopefully she still needs us!)

Ivy Park at Palos Verdes is a very nice facility with apartment style living. The Memory care unit was just as nice as the other floors, they all look the same. I love how the Memory care unit did not have the hospital feel. It all had a home feel to the environment. My parents and I visited the facility, and they said when they are ready, that is where they want to live. The staff was very friendly and welcomed us all. The staff is very diverse. I love the feel of visiting Ivy Park.

My mom was here at Sunrise Palos Verdes for 1 year. The team was terrific; kind, cheerful and always eager to help. The environment feels like a big house and is well maintained and kept very clean. The outdoor garden is gorgeous with patio tables and lounge chairs. For my mom, the key thing missing was a more energetic/social ambiance as it's a quiet community environment and with residents further along in health issues than my mom. My mom was seeking more energy and a wider range of activities and outings, so we made a change. Yet for those seeking a quiet, peaceful environment, I highly recommend this Sunrise, now Ivy Park, location and team.

Finding the perfect home for my Mom seemed impossible, but I am so excited to share that it did happen when she moved into Sunrise Palos Verdes. The move in process was so easy and everyone made us feel as if we really mattered, something that we don't get to experience much anymore. Every person we dealt with was kind and caring, the facility is clean and beautiful and she absolutely loves her new apartment. Mom has so many activities to choose from every day and has made great new friends. Seeing and hearing how happy she is reminds me that we made the right decision. She truly feels at home.

We had been doing some research for an elderly relative with advanced Alzheimer’s and came across Sunrise Palos Verdes. We went to visit the facility and really were impressed by not only the physical facility but also the people and the service - they had one floor dedicated to individuals who require memory care. This fit perfectly and it has been four months and it has been nothing but fantastic. The entire staff care for the residents. We stop by randomly and often and every time we visit, they are happy to see us. Our family member is well looked after and the food and planned activities are exactly what makes this place special. Thank you Sunrise for taking such great care of our loved one. It was the right choice for us as a family.

My mother has been a resident for 3 years! The team cares so deeply for her and by extension our family. She is in assisted living. They help her with her daily activities without making her feel dependent. During Covid, they have worked so hard to keep the residents safe. Yes, it has been hard for our family not to be able to interact with Mom like we did. But, the residents have been safe! It gives me such peace of mind. During this difficult time they worked to keep the residents interacting through games that could be done distanced. I highly recommend this Sunrise. They care deeply and that warms my heart.

I have been a resident at Sunrise at Palos Verdes (SPV) for nearly three years in the Assisted Living community. I have enjoyed my stay here. I have found the staff to be patient, caring, and helpful. They have even accommodated me in my personal preferences at meal times. The food has been very good in both variety and taste. Previously, I had enjoyed the group trips outside the facility, and especially the joyful holiday celebrations. Now with COVID restrictions, the staff has taken on extra duties to keep the residents safe, and to keep them engaged with distanced activities. I feel safe at SPV. Overall, I am pleased staying here at SPV, and would recommend this facility to others.

After visiting several senior living facilities we decided on Sunrise of Palos Verdes where we were greeted by a friendly and knowledgeable staff. The facility is beautiful, immaculately maintained and spacious. There is a beautifully appointed dining room that offers a varied selection of meals and all day snacks. The outdoor garden is perfect for sitting, reading and visiting. The resident suites are spacious, cleaned regularly; with in room dining if requested. Residents are encouraged to be as independent as possible with care given to each individual's needs. Staff is quick to update us on our mothers activities and well-being, and always available to discuss any concerns we may have. We have peace of mind knowing our mother is cared for by a caring professional staff and that she is happy with her choice.

I have been extremely pleased with the staff at Sunrise Palos Verdes since we moved our Mom there in January 2020. They are friendly, attentive, courteous, and keeping residents and their family very well informed. The facility is well maintained and secure as well they take the well being and safety of the residents seriously. The management and staff took all appropriate precautions to ensure the safety and comfort of the residents as well as keeping them connected to their family and friends. Their attention to details is very much appreciated. I would like to express my thanks specifically to Debra Bein, the Terrace Club Coordinator and her staff for their efforts to make me rest assured that our Mom is well looked after, healthy, safe and not alone. I highly recommend this facility.

Putting our father in assisted living was a huge decision and we're so glad he's at Sunrise. It's like a family there and the caregivers are truly caring. From the food to the accommodations to the activities to the smiles on everyone's faces, we have zero complaints and better yet, neither does he. They've been totally on the ball when it came to COVID policies and protections and thankfully have not had any residents with the virus. As his needs have increased, they've been able to accommodate him and that's given us great peace of mind. Highly recommended.

Staff was kind and caring to the residents, sometimes putting residents' needs above visitors' requests. I felt a real sense of community among the residents. My mother felt it was like her old college dorm. Their "one month respite" program was a godsend. But it was expensive, and its location is not conducive to taking a stroll in the neighborhood. That intersection is deadly. PV drivers often act as if sirens and traffic signals are beneath their dignity. My mother did move away from Sunrise just to be closer to my residence near San Jose. She misses the Sunrise staff
