The level of care has declined considerably over the two years that my 99 year-old father has resided at Sage Mountain Newbury Park. He is blind and totally dependent upon the staff to do every aspect of daily life. I was told a few times that they are understaffed and are willing to do better. They are in the process of hiring more people hopefully more qualified than the ones they have now. Meanwhile I received a rate increase of double for what I am currently paying for the cost of more care. This is very frustrating so hopefully moving forward the Quality of Care will increase

The staff there takes really good care of my father. They’re always friendly. The facility and his room are always very clean. I am very happy with the treatment. My father gets at Sage Mountain .

Sage Mountain has been a blessing for my mom. She moved from another assisted living community in Colorado to Sage Mountain to be closer to us and the staff at Sage has made her feel right at home. Melissa, Nidia, Ian and Nicolle have gone out of their way to ensure a smooth transition and integrate mom into the Sage community and family. The caregiving and dining staff are cheerful and engaging and work to get to know each resident and their needs and likes. It is an active community that seems more like a large family.

Absolutely wonderful! My husband and I with our 3 children and two puppies in tow went to visit my Grandma. We were warmly welcomed by front desk staff, had a great lunch with Grandma out on the patio and had a great visit. Sage Mountain is always clean, inviting, friendly and truly makes me feel that my Grandma is well loved and taken care of!

From Sheri Arnold: mom and dad have been at Sage Mountain since they opened in November 2018. Mom is in assisted living and dad is in memory care. The transition from their home in Temecula area was very difficult for them (and us!) but once we arrived at Sage Mountain, Christa in management, , and Frederique and all the staff made Sage feel like home. Everyone has been amazingly caring, helpful and kind. Now we are heading into our seventh month there and there has been a huge improvement in my moms demeanor and well being AND we are SO grateful for the great care that dad is getting in Memory Care under leadership from James and from Angel and the staff - they are amazing!Before mom and dad came to Sage, my sister and my husband and I had visited many other Senior Homes and found the nickel and dime costs for every service to be quite off-putting. When we came to Sage, so much of dads care in the Memory Care area was included in the basic monthly cost; it was one of the main reasons we came to Sage.The facility and grounds are truly lovely and well maintained and the rooms and apartments are spacious and bright. We have eaten there many times and the food has always been very good! The management and staff are warm and caring - we are so pleased and highly recommend Sage Mountain.

Growing up in Newbury Park it was a one-horse-town, but I recently returned to my old stomping grounds for my best friends mothers service after she passed away. Yes, an important and somber event, but I have to say I was truly impressed with the accommodations and staff at the Sage Mountain Living Facility!This place is situated in the hills of Newbury Park just North of the 101 Ventura Fwy and is simply the most well maintained environments for the aging. The grounds are beautiful and the facility inside and out is like something out of a movie. BEAUTIFUL!I was immediately greeted by the staff at the front desk and once I arrived to the room where the services were being held I saw so many faces that I didnt recognize: The staff and residents gathered to celebrate this wonderful womans life!Its rare to experience such warmth in one room, but I have to admit if I were to need a place to live during my final years on this earth I would definitely choose Sage Mountain!

My father was one of the first residents to move into the Memory Care area at Sage Mountain. Although the surroundings at Sage Mountain are lovely, it was a difficult and worrisome decision to move him from the home he had lived in for 35 years to assisted living memory care. He has now been there for two months. The Sage Mountain Memory Care Department exceeded my expectations regarding the care they provide to my father. First of all, the Director James Christensen is excellent and caring. He and his staff prepare programs that provide an environment where the in the moment atmosphere for the residents is interesting, respectful, and enthusiastic. My sister and brother agree with me that my father is communicating with the staff and other residents (and us) much better than when he first moved in. He came from an environment with very little stimulation and the Memory Care daily programs provide interesting games, talks, activities, parties, and excursions that give my father excellent in the moment experiences. The whole staff at Sage Mountain is friendly, helpful and professional; however, since I deal mainly with the Memory Care Staff, I can add that the Memory Care Staff is excellent. We are all very happy with the care our father receives. Finally, one thing I must mention that I did not expect, was the effort that the staff provides to the families of the residents. Transitioning is almost as difficult for the family as for the resident, and I believe James and the other staff spend as much time communicating with the family about the residents needs and also help the family to understand their loved ones process of being comfortable at memory care and in a new environment. I have received many telephone calls and emails, and if you consider this care and attention to each resident by the number of residents, it requires effort above and beyond. We are truly very happy that our father is living at Sage Mountain Memory Care.

Newly opened and considering it is right above the 101 freeway, it is fairly quiet. If your loved one is prone to wandering or is on a low salt diet, I would reconsider moving them here.

I work in the healthcare field myself, and have for several years...especially with Alzheimers and Memory care issues. I have worked along some of the finest most professional and caring teams you could imagine. I now have a family member who resides at Sage Mountain, and have personally experienced another Amazing effort from all of the staff there at Sage Mountain. You wont find a more compassionate group of people than those who work tirelessly there. If ever you wish to experience an example of Compassion In Action...look no further. Outstanding!

Best community in Thousand Oaks. Staff is amazing and the facility is like a 5 star hotel. I was invited for lunch and the food was outstanding, The chef came to our table to make sure everyone was completely satisfied, which we all were. Kudos to the developer.
