I am posting this review from my experience as a son navigating the assisted living landscape with and for my mother who had a stroke in 2012. There have been a few stops and try outs at other communities with varied outcomes and compromises that are part of the process of finding that "great fit". Again, I can only speak from my perspective, but as soon as we went to meet/tour/interview/ the facility we met Lisa, a true professional. She was welcoming, engaging, informative, empathetic, sincere, accommodating, caring and most importantly, real. First impressions are crucial, which is why I stress the importance and gravity of the impression expressed by Lisa as the first Point of Contact at Arbol, and then as you meet the rest of the staff, you begin to come to an understanding that this the culture at Arbol from the top down. This is extremely important in my view as I get to leave and can go to my home whereas this is not an option for my mother. Having my mom living at Arbol has eased a good amount of the worry and I feel like she has found a place that she has integrated into very well and hopefully a place she feels she can call home too.

BTW, I'm also known as Marcia Robb. Every single part of going to rehab after breaking both legs, was an amazing experience. (Who can say that!?) Lisa was exceptionally helpful to my son in getting me admitted. I even had my own extra large private room, perfect for setting up my office equipment and continuing to "work". All the nurses and staff were professional, giving excellent care, helpful, friendly and lovely, and I made a lot of friends. A huge shout out to the Therapy Staff (you know who you are;) for working with me in your excellency, and helping me to make enough progress to go home. Wish my house was as clean as your facility! Every step of my journey was filled with care, support and love. Thank you! Next time you see me I will be walking in to say hello and maybe telling a joke!

I can't say enough about the quality of care that my father received during his stay at Arbol. He spent time in their health center as part of his rehabilitation. During this time, everyone was so attentive and really took an interest in his progress, especially his speech therapist, Tom. Later, when he was near his end of life, we also utilized their facility for hospice. This is always a difficult time to have to make decisions but we knew that having him their during hospice was the best choice based upon the amazing care that he was provided during his rehabilitation stay. I really appreciate all of the support that they provided us during this time

My stepmother, who suffered from Alzheimer's dementia, spent the last two year of her life in the memory care unit of Arbol Residences. It was a relief for me to know that she was well taken care of. I particularly appreciated the responsiveness of both the administrative and medical staffs. When I had a question, I would receive an answer, by email or by phone, in less than twenty-four hours. Arbol's all-inclusive pricing made it easy for me to manage my stepmother's affairs while living several thousand miles away.

He is a terrific example of high ethical standards, knowledge in senior care, and follows through on commitments he makes. The 5 stars are for the Admissions staff only in this review. Sarah and Lisa were very helpful in getting my loved one admitted without delay. Lisa answered questions, explained documents, helped me set up a patient portal, and continued to check in throughout his stay. She even saw that his clock finally got a new battery!

Arbol Residence Rehab provided the care and therapy I needed to recover from my hip replacement surgery. I entered the surgery concerned and worried. Following Arbol's competent and encouraging physical and occupational staff I've become more confident and skillful at physical movement while protecting the recent hip surgery. As a 78 year old my independent becomes increasingly important and Arbol's staff helped create that for me.

I cannot give enough praise to all Arbol staff, especially Arbol Skilled Nursing staff. My Dad had been in Arbol’s Skilled Nursing facility for nearly three years. His stay included the most difficult days of the pandemic, where Arbol staff did an incredible job at preventing the spread of the virus with various protocols. My dad had excellent care, and it was very apparent that the staff went above and beyond countless times to make sure he was comfortable - from visiting with him, to putting football games on his TV (which he loved to watch). Thank you, Arbol staff, for all that you did for my Dad. My mom and I feel blessed that you were all in his life, and in ours.

If you're looking for a great facility to place the senior in your life you can't do better than Arbol Santa Rosa. The community has a nice warm feel, and the staff treats the residents like family. Every time I visit, I'm always impressed with how happy the residents are, and how friendly the employees are to their residents. The staff is what really counts, and these folks really care about their residents. From the office and administration to the care givers, to the culinary department, these people all take pride in taking good care of the residents and treating them like they are family. Great job and keep up doing great work!!

Both of my parents started their Arbol Living at Skilled Nursing. Mom transferred to Memory Cate and Dad transferred to Assisted Living. The care in all three departments is commendable and the transfer from department to department was easy. All staff were friendly and knowledgeable. What I appreciated the most was being able to talk with a REAL person at any time. Skilled Nursing has their own entry and staff. Memory Care and Assisted Living have their own entry and staffs. All the different care needs are met in one location.

I found the move in process to be very smooth when needing to place my mom into memory care. The staff were all very professional as well as caring and sympathetic when making final decisions with finding just the right home for my mom. After a very long search for just the right living situation for my mom, I found Arbol to be the right choice in many ways. The marketing and sales director I worked directly with was definitely a “no pressure” professional, which helped to make an already difficult situation much easier. After the initial move in and adjustment period, I’ve gotten to know the caregiving staff that look after my mom daily, and I continue to receive updates about her health and day to day activities. Everyone has been extremely loving and caring, as well as professional.

It was a difficult decision to move my husband to assisted living. After we connected with Arbol Residences of Santa Rosa, we had an excellent experience. The staff came to our home for Bob's evaluation by nursing. Sales attended to share an overview of the residences and services provided by Arbol. The next step was a site visit at Arbol by Bob, myself and our daughters. We were shown the various room layouts, and met several of the residence. All our questions were answered completely and truthfully. I was impressed that the staff knew all the residences names. Communication is an extremely important part of this process. The staff at Arbol provide easy to follow documentation of what was needed prior and at move in day so there were no surprises. The executive director does an exception job of sending out emails to the residents and their families when there are changes to procedures due to Covid, or Thanksgiving schedule, and simple things like power outages. Bob has been at Arbol for four months and has had a positive experience including playing cards a couple of days a week with friends.

Arbol Residences stood out in every way when I was searching for Assisted Living for my dad. Not only has the community undergone a recent, beautiful and modern renovation, but our Sales Counselor, Paris Cuevas, was responsive and available to answer all of our questions along the way. Her patience with us and understanding of the importance in finding the best place for my father has been reflective of his experience in the community - people have been welcoming, supportive and helpful and it's been a huge sigh of relief for our family knowing that he is safe and well-cared for.

After visiting many assisted living facilities in Santa Rosa, in April 2022 I helped my brother move into Arbol on very short notice. I was and continue to be impressed with how attentive, professional, and kind all the staff are. It is not an easy transition to make, but the staff has worked hard to learn what my brother needs and to make him feel at home. I am very satisfied that we made the right choice in choosing Arbol Residences of Santa Rosa.

ORIGINAL: Although my Dad has only lived at Arbol for about a month, everything has gone smoothly so far! The team at Arbol (shout out to Sean Baron!) has ben tremendously helpful and responsive surrounding the move in and getting settled. UPDATE: There are a few critical disappointments with Arbol the last several months. For one, the staff does not seem to take their chosen profession into consideration during their off time. The COIVD outbreaks among staff have been extreme. Every week, it seems there has been another staff (who work directly with residents) member or two who tests positive. There is great responsibility in choosing a career in the medical field and/or when caring for elderly individuals, and you have to be aware of that in your off hours. Also, the food situation is quite sad. As far as I know, my dad is the only resident who is able to drive himself to go get food when he desires. That means the very large majority of residents rely solely on the food Arbol provides. The food wavers constantly and has been consistently low quality (not cooked thoroughly, etc.). There is obvious negligence in the kitchen staff in serving the wrong items, expired items, etc. Does one expect gourmet meals at a live-in residence like this? Of course not. Does one expect to be served good-quality food that matches what they order? Yes.

We entrust Arbol Assisted Living of Santa Rosa with the care of my 96 year old mother. We (and she) are very pleased. Without exception the staff is warm, caring, and eager to please. She and we are particularly pleased by their concern and proactive measures taken during the COVID-19 era that have kept her and her fellow residents COVID Free and have demonstrated that she is safer at Arbol than anywhere else. The General Manager and Sales Director are particularly excellent communicators, and we receive regular email updates keeping us informed of Anti-Virus measures and overall updates for the facility. During a time when other family members health issues have preoccupied our family, it has been sincerely appreciated that Arbols caring and effective staff have been taking great care of our elderly mother and in doing so have greatly helped our entire family get through a difficult year.

My Mom has lived at Arbol for a number of years. Her 1 bedroom apartment is quite spacious and the staff keeps it very clean. The food is quite good and I can say that because I have eaten with her many times. Quite frequently they have special meal events and they are always a treat for my Mom. My Mom is quite active and Arbol has many things to keep her busy such as Balance Class, Mind Games, History Lesson, Bingo and Movie Night just to name a few. What is most impressive about Arbol however is what happens when things are not normal and that is what I am most grateful for. The staff has been awesome during the fires last year when they had to relocate the entire building two times during one event. They kept us informed along the way and worked tirelessly even thought their own homes might have been in danger. Then comes COVID 19.... when many assisted and care center facilities had outbreaks, that never happened at Arbol. Not to say they didnt have positive tests among staff but to their credit to positive tests among the residents. They had great protocols for safety and I am fully confident in their ability to get my Mom through this. The staff is quite caring, works tirelessly and again even though they have their own challenges at home. I would highly recommend Arbol as a wonderful home for your aging parent.

My father has been living at Arbol for 9 months, for what we initially hoped might be a temporary situation while he recovered from a major fall and hip replacement revision that made it impossible for him to return to his home and live independently. It was a very challenging and traumatic time for all of us, and the staff and Arbol were professional, caring and extremely accommodating of our needs. Dads recovery was improving slowly but surely when the pandemic necessitated the lock down and no visitors. During these particularly challenging times, Arbol has continued to provide excellent care to my father, and has had no positive cases of Covid amongst their residents. This is truly remarkable, and I attribute it to their vigilance in adhering to public health guidelines and precautions. In addition, they are very communicative and transparent about all that is going on in the community. I am truly grateful that we found Arbol Residences for my father.

My fiercely independent (and lets be honest, kind of a loner) mother found herself in a situation where she couldnt go home after a brief hospitalization. We knew she would be very resistant to going to any kind of assisted living but we were hoping this was the opportunity to see if she could adjust. We toured several assisted living apartment situations & Arbol seemed to be the best. Sean couldnt have been more helpful in helping us through the process & was very patient with helping my mother adjust. The other residents were very friendly & welcoming despite the fact that my mother preferred to mainly stay by herself. All the residents seemed to be very happy there. The food was delicious...we looked forward to having lunch with her there many times. Pre pandemic the activities & grounds offered many opportunities to get out of her room. There is even a home theatre room where you can watch movies with your family when there isnt a scheduled movie.My mother can be very difficult. Of course, when you are in your 80s and you have lived life on your own terms, in your own house, I can understand how it would be difficult to adjust. From my experience, the staff there was always patient with my mom. On the other hand, if you are looking for a place for your family member, who feels isolated & misses having company or social activities..this is a great place for them too! The cost is also reasonable, in my opinion, when you think about it. It includes rent, PG&E, water, garbage, meals, snacks, housekeeping, laundry, someone available to check up on your family member 24hrs a day, (pre pandemic) activities, trips, outdoor ground maintenance....can you imagine how much that would cost if you were paying that from home?My mother did insist on going home & we tried for 2 months with visiting help. It did not work out for her & Arbol welcomed her back with open arms. I cant tell you how good it felt (especially mid pandemic when you cant tour or have limited options) to have a place that we felt absolutely comfortable with taking our mother to with all the chaos going on. Thank you Arbol, for helping us navigate what could have been a much more difficult transition. I couldnt recommend them more!

My parents have lived here through 3 different management organizations. Arbol is by far the best operator of the three. I have always been happy with the kind and caring caregivers and administrators of all operators but what set Arbol apart was that it is an employee owned company. Any questions or billing issues can be immediately solved in-house without going through a corporate office sometimes taking months to resolve. The memory care community is excellent. I was impressed with the many opportunities for engaging the residents in music, art and game activities. Its a difficult disease to care for but the patience and love given by all the caregivers gave me a peace of mind knowing they were in a safe and very supportive place. Also, the caregivers have been trained specifically to deal with dementia residents. The assisted living area is great too. Even though my parent doesnt always want to be a part of the social activities, they are getting much more social interaction than they would be at home alone by having meals together and the caregivers checking in all the time. My parents never wanted to be a burden to me and by having them here, it has allowed me to enjoy their company and have peace of mind knowing they are well cared for 24, 7. Im very grateful for thatMy name is Jay Wagner, Dianes husband, but I have my own highly favorable opinions of Arbol Santa Rosa. Awhile back their staff took excellent care of my mother in their skilled nursing facility for 3 1, 2 years. No one could have treated her better than they did especially in light of how challenging she could be as her life and health ran its course. When people ask me as to which senior care facility I would recommend for their family member I have no qualms about encouraging them to visit Arbol SR.

Arbol is fantastic! It is great that it offers skilled nursing, assisted living and memory care - so if skilled nursing is needed, a resident still is within the community they know. The community is a perfect size so that residents and staff can know every ones name. The best part is the team - the above and beyond care they show for residents makes it feel like home. The dedication, responsiveness and attention to detail by the management team, led by the Executive Director Mariele Soriano, is amazing. My family has lived there 2 years and we still feel it is the best senior community in Sonoma County.

A year ago was very pleased with the facility. We have had mom there for three stays, and each time we noted that some of the people had been placed, and we were very disappointed that they were losing some of our favorite people. I hope that no more of the skilled and excellent staff are removed. My post would be 5 stars a year ago, now it is only a 3 because of the personnel changes, unfortunately we are not sure if we would take mom back again.
