I was taken there for skilled nursing. I only saw a nurse at medication dispensing times or I rang the buzzer, and unfortunately even then I was left waiting for several minutes. When I asked for a over night stay with my family and was only permitted 4, because of my skilled nursing status, you know....the nursing that I only got a medication times or I rang the buzzer and waited and waited...the place ONLY cares about thier bank accounts NOT the patients and you will have NO problem getting the same thing from other patients there.

My experience working with Buena Vista's admissions department has been a great one. They were quick to answer all my questions and they were very thorough explaining the process in getting my loved one admitted to the facility. I highly recommend Buena Vista!

My mom is in there. When I first read the reviews I was scared & panicky & wanted to get her out immediately. As time went by & I saw how the staff was taking care of her & she is healing so well. The staff is extre Nice! They do their absolute best & I haven't had one bad experience with any of them. Granted, the place itself is not as immaculate as a palace, or mission terrace, but the people who work there are amazing & im at peace, knowing God is in control. My mom is 90yr old & was in a head on collision on the 154 March 7th 2022 (this year), she was taken to cottage hospital with a broken neck, broken sternum, 5 broken ribs, & a smashed ankle bone. The ankle was reconstructed, but all else has to heal on it's own. She's doing great & is on her way to get better so she can be home soon. I know the Living God of our Universe has everything to do with that! But He is definitely working through all the staff at Buena Vista. They all are so kind to her & go above & beyond to help her. I don't know why past reviews here are so negative... I also don't want to undermine anyones experience that might not have been good, & my deepest condolences go to those people. What I do know is my own experience. I know that if we place God first in our lives & look to Him for everything, He will impress hearts & heal His children. With that being said, I'm happy mom is here, & that she's getting better every day. Thank you staff for always being so kind when we see you a& most importantly for taking such good care of my mom. Physical. Occupational and Speech therapists are miracle workers. I am much more confident about going home and living in my apt by myself I've had 2 strokes, several falls and . And several broken bones. The only thing that could use some improvement is the food. OI just brought several boxes of protein bars. I am going to miss everyone here. I thought I was going to be here for months and I'm being discharged after just 3 weeks.

I was about ready to cash it all in! I had suffered three strokes, a heart attack, and open heart surgery. I could not walk or write. I had lost all hope. I was down to 99 pounds and could not eat. I had been in another ( bad) facility- Evergreen in Long Beach. However, when I got to Buena Vista Care Center Scott Entwistle, my therapist, got me laughing for the first time in over five months. He was so kind and caring! He made me want to be able to walk and write. He would wave at me while I struggled to learn how to write again! His smile was electric! He spoke softly and carried a big stick! His personality was so warm, thoughtful, and intelligent. When I succeeded in being able to take a few steps on my own, he said," Way to go," and cracked me up so that I wanted to walk in order to get his positive response. I would not have been able to recover without Buena Vista's excellent therapy and positive atmosphere. I owe them and Scott my life! Thank you so much!
