Mom loves it at Atria! Very friendly, caring staff all around! Good food and fun activities! It's been a blessing for our whole family.

Take a look at other facilities before you sign up. Ask the right questions. Get information on management from all levels. Investigate the facility & make sure you get the right answers of who is actually in charge not just management at this facility. Other than that the interior of the facility is clean & the food is good.

I have been a resident at Atria Park of San Mateo for 2 years. I have moved here from Atria Daly City. This is a wonderful place to live! Many good reasons. Right from when you first walk into the lobby. You are greeted with a smile and welcomed. The staff is very professional, accommodating. The care staff, waitstaff, the housekeeping all friendly and respectful. Many things to do here at Atria. There is an exercise room, a movie theater, a bistro area where you can find many freshly made food items, water, juices, soft drinks and pastries. Terrace is one of the best amenities I enjoyed. Activities such as bingo, gin rummy and craft classes- all handled by Angie the Engage Life Director and Annelly, with a smile. Holiday celebrations with great decorations. Thursday happy hour with great music and snacks. Always fun and well attended. The experience has been pleasant. I highly recommend Atria Park of San Mateo! A great place to live in!

Mark, in sales was fantastic at answering all of our questions before deciding to move in my mom earlier this year. Angie has been wonderful in helping her adjust and getting her to try some of the activities. Facility is beautiful and she has really enjoyed the food selection. Head chef, Jean Paul has been so kind and even included some of her requests! Exec Dir, Nelson has been accommodating when we've needed help solving problems and staff has been very courteous and helpful! I highly recommend contacting facility for a tour to see for yourself!

My mother lived by herself until she broke her leg at 99!!! We realized she could not be by herself anymore and moving in with my husband and I was not an option due to our stairs!!! I looked at several assistant living facilities and decided to move her to Atria Park San Mateo. She moved in in February of 2022 and I remember sitting in the parking lot crying hoping I did the right thing! Well two years later I can say it was the best decision i ever made. My mother - who will be 102 in June - is very happy with her new home. She starts her day after breakfast with exercise and then has wonderful activities to keep her mind and body moving! Her apartment is lovely and the facility is beautiful. The dining room and bistro serve great food. But none of this happens without the wonderful people who work at Atria. The caregivers are attentive and caring and the staff makes an effort to know you and greet you by name. Mirna and Irene welcome you as you come in the door and next stop is to see the Sales Director, Mark, for a little basketball chat! Of special note is Angie Serraron who plans the activites and always makes the facility a cheerful place - especially during the holidays. She makes everyone feel special! Atria Park of San Mateo gets 5 stars!

We researched facilities up and down the peninsula for a placement for a beloved family member. Due to her care and medication needs, we narrowed the list down to just a handful, including Atria Park of San Mateo. I initially spoke to Community Sales Director, Mark P. to arrange a tour. The tour was extensive and he answered my many questions. Mark is a wonderfully patient and welcoming individual and represents Atria Park very well. He is very communicative and helpful in navigating this important and sensitive process. Atria Park is very clean and well appointed. Residents we encountered on tour seemed happy. It was nice to see so many participating in the group activities. Due to various circumstances, it took several weeks for my aunt to be ready to transition from a skilled nursing facility to assisted living at Atria Park. So, as I write this, she is a somewhat new resident there. Though she is still transitioning to her new environment and caregivers, she has settled in a bit, been enjoying the meals in the dining room and bistro, explored the rooftop terrace and started to participate in morning exercise classes. Staff is attentive and kind. Angie, the Engage Life director, is incredibly sweet and helpful. Alisa, the Regional Care Director, expertly leads the wellness team who organizes care and medications. Chef Jean Paul creates a wide variety of dishes, of which we always find something suitable to my aunt's preferences. The receptionists, usually Mirna & Irene, are welcoming and keep track of all visitors, maintaining safety and security, which I appreciate. Nena handles the business/billing side of things and is thorough and makes herself available for any questions or concerns. The caregivers, housekeepers, med techs, facilities team and dining room staff have all been great.

My spouse has been living at Atria Park of San Mateo for almost a year now. I visit him daily and have witnessed the caring and doting staff. They all greet him by name and are attentive to his needs. When he is not feeling well, he stays in his room, and they check in on him every few hours to check on his well being. The restaurant servers knows his favorite foods and if he is coughing or sleeping, alert the medical staff so they are aware. If he skips a meal because of his Dementia and cannot remember whether or not he has eaten, they will make sure he eats the next meal. My spouse was staying at an assisted living facility 5 blocks from our home but I moved him to Atria of San Mateo. It was and is the best decision I made. There is much more socialization opportunities (taking a drive to see the nearby sites, movie night, painting, & religious services) and the staff from the reception desk, to the cooks, to the servers, to the activity coordinators, to the medication aides, are all attentive and caring.

I was a resident at Atria Park of San Mateo for six months and was very pleased with my experience at this assisted living facility while recovering from surgery and regaining physical mobility. The staff is warm, caring, and highly competent. The residents are warm and welcoming and enjoy life and the amenities here. I made many friends at Atria. My living quarters were comfortable, clean, and modern, with nice furnishings. The building and grounds are attractive and well-maintained. Atria Park enjoys an excellent location on the peninsula close to shops and services, as well as the 101 and 92 freeways, yet peaceful. I never lacked for activities to keep me engaged thanks to the many offered - bingo, movies, games, arts and crafts, stimulating outings, a weekly happy hour, and more. The shuttle bus provides convenient transportation for medical appointments and shopping trips. Around-the-clock nurse availability gave me assurance that my health needs could be promptly addressed. The management team is clearly supportive of staff and residents. Nutritious and tasty meals are served three times daily in the dining room. I always felt at home at Atria Park and that staff genuinely cared about my well-being. I would highly recommend this assisted living community to others seeking supportive senior living with compassionate care in a beautiful setting.

I am a resident at Atria Park. I have lived here for 4 years and it has been home to me. The staff here is kind and caring and the people feel like my second family. They offer a wide variety of activities so there is something for everyone. I have been learning how to paint sometimes they turn out well and hang on my wall. The others we won't mention. Haha. It is a very beautiful property and well maintained. I like that I don't have to clean house anymore.

I followed Executive Director,Jennifer Duenas, Engage Life Director Mark Pagaduan and receptionist Angie Serraon. The buildings and grounds of Atria Park are tended to daily and meticulously maintained. Residents claim that living at Atria Park is like being in a fancy cruise ship or like staying in an upscale hotel. All our food is provided...Our rooms are clea ed..Our laundry is done..There is hair salon..movie theater,Bistro, terrace and library. Transportation is provided to medical appointments for all residents including handicapped residents with walkers and manual and motorized wheelchairs. There is 24hr security and a 24hr Life alert system. The most valuable service provided by atria is the fabulous caregiving staff headed by Engage Life Director, Angie Serraon.. Angie is responsible for providing activities for the residents of Atria Park. There are twice daily exercise class and local walking challenges. Educational documentaries and Ted talks, food for thoughts series. There are art projects from painting, ceramics, floral arranging, family tree research and design: to name just a few. There are games, Bingo and Gin Rummy, Jeopardy, What's in a Word and black jack. Weekly scenic rides and shopping trips are available as well. Angie overseas all of these activities, her support staff, administrative requirements, budget and supplies inventories. Her plate is very full and she does it all with a smile on her face. Angie is genuinely kind, concerned, creative, funny and knowledgeable about everything "Atria". She is a credit and asset to our community. I was so glad when she decided to pursue the Engage Life Directorship. There is no one more capable than she to many this large, thriving and diverse community. Our waitstaff and carestaff is the best! I feel very safe and secure living here. It's not perfect... nothing is. But it is as close as it comes to providing a stimulating, healthy environments for all its residents. Atria Park of San Mateo is not a community.... it is our HOME.

I currently work at Atria Park of San Mateo as the Resident Services Supervisor and I believe our community is a great place to live. Although we have been affected by this pandemic, as many others have, our community still ensures that we do the absolute best we can for the well-being of our residents. We have lots of activities that residents enjoy participating in, a large dining room where resident can eat and socialize at a safe distance, and we encourage families to come visit while following county guidelines during the pandemic.

Beautiful inside and out. The staff was amazing! From receptionist to the caregivers and waitstaff- all were so sweet! The activities team is so engaged and the nurse and her team are outstanding. This was the best experience, the new Executive Director really fosters an environment of warmth and appreciation. If you have a family member that needs a little extra care (or alot) they can be happy at Atria Park of San Mateo.

I drove two hours down to visit my lovely grandmother over the weekend and unbeknownst to me an employee at Atria tested positive for Covid. Resulting in, I was only able to have a "window visit", at first I was upset but understood there are protocols and measurements to take place. BUT, the way I was treated at the front desk was just unacceptable. As you can imagine driving two hours to visit a loved one can be exciting. I showed up and walked up to the front desk only to be met by a rude employee. She was on the phone and proceeded to slam her finger down multiple times on a piece of paper. I assume for me to read, so I did. Read about the positive Covid employee and their temporary protocols. As I was standing there finishing my reading the employee just sat there and stared at me. Not sure if she thought I was just going to leave or what but I just drove two hours down to visit my grandma so I was not going to leave so quickly. I proceeded to ask her how can I set up "window visit" appointment making it known I drove a long ways. She proceeded to give me the run around and I felt like I was making her do her job trying to set a window visit, she didn't seem like she wanted to help. I finally got my wish and had a lovely visit with my grandma through a window. Normally I have a pleasant time here visiting my grandma but please train your employees customer service. If a simple task of talking to a residents family member and talking on the phone is too hard for you maybe the job isn't meant for you..

During my three years at Atria, I have become a part of a caring and friendly community. The staff really cares about residents, and it shows in their commitment and work.

Toured this community a few weeks ago and fell in love, the protocol that the staff has implemented during COVID-19 speaks volumes and shows the dedication this place has to keep its residents safe. It is brand new remodeled facility very modern and clean on the higher end. I was ready to move in my mother but unfortunately she declined and passed before she had the opportunity to call Atria her home

Atria Park of San Mateo is a wondeful community filled with freindly staff members and happy residents! I had the privilage of touring with Sales Director, Elliot Bowman. The apartments are spacious and upscale. There are many ammenities this community offers. Too many to list! This beautiful senior living community is lead by Cecilia Dauth who is warm and welcoming! Even during the pandemic, they are still keeping the socialization alive in the community. They have weekly themed happy hour carts, social-distanced activites, and tasty food! Great job Atria Park of San Mateo team. Thank you for all that you do for the elderly!

My mother has been a resident at Atria Hillsdale for 18 months. When she arrived at Atria we were not sure how she would do in her recovery from hip fracture surgery. The staff at Atria welcomed her with loving arms, always very attentive, taking the time to know my mom personally, talking with her and making sure that her family is kept in touch with the her progress. We are very happy to say that my mother has fully recovered; while still needing some assistance, we have the peace of mind knowing that she is only a click away from the help she needs. Thank you Atria staff!

The LIe Guidance staff is outstanding, caring and efficient
March 2014
I am happy I chose Atria Hillsdale for my mother who has been there for 2 and a half years now. It is a clean place. Once you enter the lobby everyone is so friendly. My mother is in the Life Guidance area and I need to give a huge rave to Sapna the Life Guidance Director. She is such a warm, caring and loving person not only to my mother but all the residents she is in charge of but she also gives her time to family members when we need to talk. You can see Sapna loves what she does. Then of course I need to give a big shout out to all the caregivers in Life Guidance. They are always there to help every resident. It has to be very difficult for them to care for each resident who have different needs but they do it with love and kindness. My mother is very happy.
