This place feels like home. My grandma is thriving. She loves bingo and all of the daily activities. The chef even made grandma her favorite meal of bagels and lox. I can sleep at night knowing she is safe. Thank you Havens so much from the bottom of our hearts. I recommend to all of my friends and family.

This is a horrible place to put your parents!. I’ve come in twice and her diaper hasn’t been changed it was completely soiled. They raised the rent and didn’t even notify us! How unprofessional for a decent looking place to be like this in the kitchen they are always running out of something due to that fact a lot of resident are miserable and take it out on the servers. There is such a high turnover rate here. Doesn’t seem like it will last very long. Staff is amazing but management is not what it should be.

When I had previously worked at Avila Senior Living I was constantly running around and doing the best I could so that the residents would be satisfied and most importantly, not have been on the floor for longer than a minute. Unfortunately, this company only cares about profit. They have zero regard for assistance that the residents need even though they charge the residents and-or family members for it. There are some amazing individuals on the care staff and in the kitchen, but as I had gone by to visit a resident that had asked me to keep in touch I had a member on the care staff decide to confront me in a very unappreciated manner. Unfortunately when I had worked with this person before they quit I thought they would have changed as they werent so kind to the residents. Given this was the kind greeting I had gotten I truly hope she has learned to at the very least treat the residents in a nicer manner. Overall I hope that whomever is considering having their parents here they look at every other option first. I have always only wanted the best for people. Maybe by the time you are considering bringing your parents here they will have changed. I do hope that is the case soon.

Trust. That is what it boils down to...trust. You are entrusting Avila Senior Living (previously known as The Manse) with one of the most precious people in your life, your parent-s. You wish it could be different, that you could be the one to do this, but you cant. And, you want the best for your mom (or dad). From the bottom to the top, all of the employees are dedicated to the enhancement of the lives of the residents. Oscar, the Activities Director, has been there longer than my mom. He is wonderful with all the residents and there is never a dull moment...that is unless you dont want to participate in all the fun! Oscar has creative exercise classes, engaging games, weekly ice-cream socials, and a Friday happy hour, just to name just a few of the events. He knows each resident and their preferences, likes, needs, and wants. Major holidays are over-the-top; Mom normally insists we come in and look at all of the beautiful decorations that Oscar has put out! Emily, at the Front Desk, has the patience of a saint. She remembers the residents and their families including the select needs of each person. I dont know how she keeps it all straight, but she does! The crew in Wellness is amazing too! They get everyones individual health needs met. If you need a particular service, help with dressing, standby attendance, etc., they are there. In a sense, my mom lives with another devoted family: the other residents, Oscar, Emily, Wellness, support staff, and management. With this special family, she has endless friendships, specialized care, and constant safety that allows her to live as independently as possible. I trust ASL, and their dedicated and caring staff, will continue to make my mothers life as pleasant, joyful, and fulfilling as it can be.

Ownership changed about a year ago. They embarked on a vigorous remodeling program which included the dining area. Then COVID-19 hit and numerous delays ensued. Not necessarily the fault of management, who has essentially been playing it by ear. Most of the original staff is no longer here, however the new hires, for the most part, display the necessary compassion and willingness to work. A challenging thing during these pandemic stricken times. Oscar Buenrostro, the Activities Director, has been exceptionally innovative in developing social activities commensurate with the restrictions of social distancing. Since several of the staff are Anglo, Oscar has started a basic conversational Spanish class, wherein the students, all with Medicare Cards, can learn to converse in rudimentary Spanish. As with so many in the world, we look forward to.a return to normality, and are anxious to see how management can restore the amenities to which we have become accustomed.

I can be to the beach in minutes or restaurants and shopping. Last time I was here for a visit, I stopped in Pismo Beach and bought a famous cinnamon roll from Old West Cinnamon Rolls!

Having years of family experience in care facilities, over 2 generations, I am very appreciative of the excellent quality of life my dad enjoys at the Manse on Marsh. It is in large part assured by friendly, attentive, caring, thoughtful and responsive staff that demonstrate daily that the residents are their priority. The facility and amenities are great. The room is very spacious and modern, comfortable and very well-maintained. Meals are creative and flavorful, varied and thoughtfully flexible as required. The days are enhanced with a range of entertainment events to please a variety of tastes. You can tell this is so because the cheerful and friendly greetings of the residents radiates the feeling of being well-cared for. They have been good for their word for providing a great home for my Dad, which as enhanced his quality of life and mine.

I was on the City Council and voted in favor at the various hearings for the approval of the Manse on Marsh Assisted Living Facility. After it was constructed, I attended a number of functions at the Manse including dedication and other special occasions. I also have enjoyed a number of lunches at the Manse over many years. I have found the Manse to be very home like with a very comfortable feeling with many activities. I also find that a number of my friends have resided at the Manse. I've always been impressed with the Management at the Manse and the conditions of the facility. I would be quite comfortable should the time arise to spend some of my later days as a resident at the Manse.

What a wonderful place we’ve found for my parents. It was very difficult to uproot my parents from their home but they needed more care. The Manse staff helped to make it a much easier and smoother transition. All the staff worked so hard to help my parents acclimate to their new home. My mother was especially unhappy leaving her home of many years. Oscar, the Activities Director, made a special point to draw her out and got her socializing and joining their numerous activities. She now loves the Manse and has made some good friends. All the caregivers, Kathy the nurse, and the wellness staff have all taken such good care of my father who suffered a stroke. He has a difficult time communicating his needs, but the staff all show such patience, kindness, and respect when caring for him. Visiting family and friends often comment on observing the wonderful care they see being given to all the residents. The Manse provides a beautiful environment that is so clean and comfortable. It doesn’t feel like a facility, it feels more like a home. Everyone from the wonderful owners, to the management, and all the staff take a real interest in the residents and their families. We couldn’t feel better about our decision to have my parents living at the Manse. They are safe, well cared for, and most important, they are happy and thriving at the Manse.

I cannot say enough about the wonderful people at the Manse on Marsh. My mom Jeanne recently passed and she lived there for the last seven years of her life. I spent a great deal of time there with her, and got to know everyone and truly, it felt like a second home and a family ~ as close as that! Just about every caregiver and server and employee there were above anything you could ask for. Warm and responsive and kind. And Oscar, the activities director, became a true friend and member of our family. He makes the lives of all the residents there more lighthearted and full of fun. Bringing people to entertain, cheering people on and going above and beyond anything we could have asked for in the way of love and service. When my mom was going through the last days with Hospice care, she wanted to be there at the Manse. It was home, truly and simply. And I will be forever grateful to the people there.

Hilliard Assisted Living and Memory Care has been a blessing to our family. My mother and father moved there in July 2016 and we were so happy with their experience there, that we moved my father in law in from Florida in November. One of my first impressions of HAL was how beautiful it is. When describing it to others I found myself just repeating that it looks like a Disney resort. We have been impressed with how well taken care of it is and how they go to extra lengths to decorate it for special occasions. The size of the rooms is very generous for this type of facility. Mom and dad have a one bedroom and it is big enough that they could bring many things from home. I am convinced that having room to bring so many of their treasures helped them to adjust to their new home more quickly. The management always has a kind word to say and they encourage you to share if something is not quite right. They have been quick to help when we didn't understand a bill and are always good at listening whatever the subject may be. The aides come pretty quickly when called and the nurses have been very helpful. My mother prefers not to go on outings, but I have been quite impressed with all the activities and outings that are available and that many choose to take advantage of. The theatre is right across the hall from their room and my dad has enjoyed watching the Buckeyes play there. I've seen it crowded with people watching America's Funniest Home Videos or some enjoying movies on other evenings. The popcorn there is a nice touch too. The Bistro is my three year old granddaughter's favorite place to go with my mom and dad. There is usually fruit, pastry and a sweet treat as well as coffee, water and hot chocolate. The fireplaces throughout the buliding make it feel very inviting and there is a puzzle table by one of the fireplaces. My mom is a great cook and she has enjoyed Prime Rib Saturdays in the Dining Room. If she doesn't care for the main offering at a meal, there are always other items that are available. Her routine is to eat Breakfast, exercise in the exercise room with my dad, then skip lunch and go for dinner. The dining room is also a great place where we enjoyed a fantastic Thanksgiving dinner for 9 of our family. The food that night was amazing and it was special that we could all be together for that and also a family Holiday gathering a few weeks later. My dad plays accordian and loves music, so the frequent entertainers that they bring in have been really great for him. The staff is really sweet to come and remind them too, that someone is playing downstairs. I was looking for a place close to our home (near the Tuttle Mall) that had Assisted Living and Memory Care because my dad has dementia and and may need residential services someday. The Memory Care side is every bit as inviting as the rest of the building. They have a beautiful patio with an outdoor fireplace and seating. I was impressed that each room had a "front porch" with a comfy chair and a shadow box where I could put mementos for my father in law. People are engaged and seem happy when I have been there. When my father in law moved in, everyone in the living room perked up to welcome him. I hadn't seen that before in other memory care facilities. I looked at several places and was happy with another one, then saw the sign that they were breaking ground for HAL. The timing worked out and this place opened just as mom and dad decided they needed to move out of their home. Hilliard Assisted Living has been an answer to prayer as I truly feel that they have treated our parents not as residents, but as family. My praise goes out to the Spectrum team who hired the management team here, down to all those who work to make this a truly special place. Sharon Cadwallader

Where I live is very nice, the staff are great. I love Raquel the LPN in building. We have a great maintenance department. The company allows us to give WOW cards to the employees to say thank you for all the wonderful things they do for us. This is a very cheerful building, you will see smiling faces and laughter all day long. My Med Techs, Chaka, Ashley, Ruby and Alex are really good to me and give me my pills. The food is good and we get snacks all day long. There are activities all day long if you choose to get involved. I am very happy at Grand Villa.

My father resided at the Manse for just about a year. He hated the idea of ever going into such a place - but the Manse met and exceeded his expectations and mine. It was a first-rate operation in all respects - from the management to the everyday staff. The Manse staff treats residents with care and respect - I would recommend this place to seniors and their families.

The building is beautiful, indeed, reminding you of those British TV programs where guests come to spend time with their hosts, and just like on those programs are catered to by staff. Mom spent the last two years of her life there, greeted daily with smiles and staff able and ready to provide what she needed: transportation, entertainment, encouragement to participate in a wide variety of activities, meals. I had peace of mind knowing that she was being administered the drugs she needed to stay healthy and that staff was observing her several times a day unobtrusively so they could intervene and let me know if there were any matters to be concerned about. The owner and his family were often present, knowing everyones names and those of family members, making it truly feel like a welcoming environment. Especially outstanding were the quality and frequency of activities, fun and cultural, on site or in town, with transportation provided. So many residents, like my mother, had moved away from their homes to be closer to family, not an easy transition. But all members of the staff made an effort to be friendly and helpful and provide support and assistance whenever they could.

To tell the truth a 5 star rating is much to low for all the love and good work being done at The Manes. My mother is a happy tenant , every time I speak to her she tell me of all the extra TLC staff shower her with. Such a high level of care, love and kindness is very evident by what both my sister, brother in law , my wife and myself have experienced in every exchange and personal experience we have been part of. THANK YOU FOR TAKING SUCH GREAT CARE OF OUR MOTHER!!!! The Mamés is best please give them a chance to be part of your decision for your family member. Then youll know first hand why they are the best! The Manes Rocks ! Diego Casarreal son of current happy well cared for mother!!!

Where do I begin...searching for a place for a family member is extremely stressful. I visited many places in Paso Robles and SLO returning at different times of the day, announced and unannounced. I spent hours speaking to employees and residents, walking the property and around the neighborhoods. It seemed impossible to find everything I wanted at one location until I found the Manse. The Manse is a safe, clean, caring, professional yet beautiful place where my aunt can feel comfortable, safe and have a variety of activities and events to attend and participate in. I wont get into detail on the personal challenges we had with moving my aunt from LA to SLO, but I can tell you that a big part of my aunt being able to settle in to a beautiful room without all the stress was because of the owner Chris Skiff. He listened to the challenges and took the time and effort to help us work out our needs. We are very grateful to him. Now it has been many months that my aunt has lived at the Manse and I want to share that on two different occasions we were going to go out to dinner and there was a knock on her door; it was one of the staff members checking on her because she missed her normal dinner seating. It is really comforting to know that there are eyes looking out for her. I highly recommend The Manse on Marsh!
