Belmont Village Review I am 91 years old and have been a resident of Belmont Village for the past four years. Throughout my life, I have remained active and have been fortunate to enjoy many fulfilling experiences. As I approached retirement, I often imagined what it would be like to live in a fine hotel, where comfort, excellent service, and peace of mind were part of everyday life. I have achieved that goal. Belmont Village is professionally managed by a creative, compassionate, and dedicated staff who consistently strive to provide exceptional care and service to every resident. Their professionalism and genuine concern for our well-being are evident every day. The community is ideally located directly across from the Winchester Mystery House and adjacent to Santana Row, one of the Bay Area’s premier shopping and dining destinations. Santana Row is beautifully maintained, secure, and offers an ever-changing variety of restaurants, shops, and community events that residents can easily enjoy. The dining experience at Belmont is another highlight. Chef-prepared meals are served three times each day by a courteous, well-trained staff in an attractive, spacious, and beautifully illuminated dining room. The quality of the food and the pleasant atmosphere make every meal enjoyable. Belmont Village offers a full continuum of care, including independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing support, and memory care. Fortunately, I remain in good overall health and am not experiencing any significant physical or cognitive limitations beyond what might reasonably be expected at my age. However, I recognize that health can change unexpectedly as we grow older. Knowing that additional care is readily available if and when I need it gives me tremendous peace of mind. Moving a parent into assisted living or memory care is a terrifying decision, but Belmont Village San Jose has been life-changing. Our mom went from not participating in anything and unwilling to leave her room at a previous facility to thriving here. She now has genuine friends, enjoys the on-site salon, watches TV with others, and loves the scenic drives and outings to the Rose Garden. The transformation is thanks to the incredible staff. Shelia made the initial tour easy, and Allyson (Memory Program Director) and Gilda (Director of Resident Care Services) have been amazing since day one. There was even a new family orientation to help us get acquainted with people, services, and to ask questions. Allyson frequently texts us photos of our mom at activities, and the PAL caregivers always have a sweet story to share when I visit. It brings my brother and me such peace of mind knowing she is loved and well-cared for. BVSJ’s communication is excellent, and the family support groups with Tami Anastasia are a fantastic resource. Not all memory care is the same”BVSJ truly puts the "care" in what they do.

Belmont Village of San Jose is in a great location. Santana Row is (literally) next door. It's a a short (a couple of blocks) walk to the Valley Fair mall. And the Winchester Mystery House is across the street. The food is really good, too. But that's not why I’m there. It’s the people. The pals go out of their way volunteering to help you do whatever you’re trying to do. They have a great nursing staff. The dining room staff too ” very accommodating. I’ve only needed maintenance a couple of times, but each time they’ve jumped on the problem and fixed it on the first try. And last ” but not least ” management is very accessible. This wasn’t true at the last place I stayed, and it’s no small thing.

My client was transfered to one of Belmont's memory care neighborhoods. The staff was understanding and very helpful during the transition. His care has been monitored, adapted, and perfected daily and the client is doing better than ever before. While I'm sorry to not be working with them any longer, I'm pleased to know they're in excellent hands at Belmont.

My husband was in memory care at Belmont San Jose to close to 2 years. The Belmont caregivers and management team became like family to us. I visited most every day. My initial positive impression of the Belmont approach was reinforced and deepened over time. The caregivers are well trained, caring, with high job satisfaction as many have been in their positions for many years. There is a robust enrichment program led by experienced leaders and the residents’ participation enables them to stay engaged as long as they are able. As my husband approached his final days the compassion for both of us was so evident When we held a celebration of life later so many attended, even coming in on a day off. There is camaraderie among the staff and management. The management team has won numerous prestigious awards for their excellence, and it shows up every day in how the residents are treated. Belmont supported me in my own journey, offering caregiver support group, family events, and celebrated special events with me, from my husbands birthday to my dogs birthday ! Belmont San Jose is a very special place and I will be forever grateful that I chose them.

My Mom has lived at Belmont Village for three years and the whole team have taken excellent care of her. When we moved Mom there she was fragile and our family was amazed how she improved so dramatically under their care. The Med Tech staff is very caring and always communicate with us about any concerns. I could relax knowing my Mom was in caring hands. Gilda Deocares the Director of Nursing is wonderful and It is reflected in her staff's knowledge and compassionate care. The Circle of Friends program sets Belmont Village apart from other facilities we looked at. The variety of activities and the social connections helped my Mom stay vital. There is never a lack of opportunity to participate in a variety of engaging activities. Allyson Fuji the director of memory care knows everyone"s name and always is keeping the programs engaging. The personal assistants are very caring and helped Mom on a daily basis. She was truly cared about and treated with warmth and dignity. It is a real community, lead by Rachel Brown,an amazing Director who is a caring soul and is always available to listen and address any concerns. We highly recommend Belmont Village San Jose , it has been a second home for our Mom.

My loved one has lived at Belmont Village San Jose, for almost 10 years now. They have received increasing degrees of care through the years, and I’ve been very impressed with the quality of the staff, and the seamless transition in care. It really feels like a family at Belmont Village, and no one falls through the cracks. Everyone I’ve encountered is both professional and caring. I want to live there, when I am of a certain age!

Belmont Village San Jose provides first class living for those needing any level of assisted living. The staff and management go above and beyond to provide a world class experience. They are very interested in feedback to improve the experience in any way they can. A couple of outstanding qualities that separate this facility from others are the food and the activities. Food is crafted by a chef and meals are prepared fresh after ordering from the menu so the quality is outstanding and custom made per requests. No cafeteria food here. Activities are planned for the entire day in circle of friends. This gets me out of my room all day which I especially like. Frequent field trips to local attractions are also well planned, safe and very enjoyable. I especially liked the San Jose Giants baseball trip. I recommend Belmont Village to anyone. I love living here!

Belmont Village has been such a wonderful place for my Mom. The staff is always caring and responsive. I don't know how, but it feels like everyone knows my Mom's name and responds with warmth. My Mom really likes the food. The program for memory care with the circle of friends make sure that seniors are getting a lot of socialization.When I have needed help for pickups, the staff has always gone out of their way to help. I had a really negative view of Elder homes from my community service in high school and experiences with my Mother-in-law and had some real fears about what it would look like for my Mom. Thankfully, my sister found Belmont Village and I have never had to feel bad. From the management to the staff, everyone seems committed to make Belmont Villages a warm and welcoming place. I cannot tell you how grateful I am that we found it.

Just wanted to say that Belmont Village has been the best decision our family has made for Mom! She is in such a caring environment- everyone has gone above and beyond to make her welcome and at home! The team is genuinely a team- all working together to keep mom safe and happy! My mother spent the last 2 1/2 months of her life at Belmont in the Memory Care Unit. Belmont is a great facility and the staff are amazing. (I don’t know where they get all their energy because the Memory Care Unit has VERY dependent individuals in it.) The staff took care of my mother in an excellent manner and they coordinated well with the Hospice Care agency that visited my mother. I can’t stress enough what a wonderful experience we had with Belmont during very trying times. Highly recommended!

Two months ago my family and I had to make the difficult decision to find an assisted living place for our loved one. From the moment we walked into Belmont Village Senior Living San Jose, we have felt at home. When we toured the location they explained everything in detail from the size of the rooms, to the meals, to the extra incidentals and all of the activities that are offered. When our loved one transitioned from a rehab facility, all of the staff at Belmont made it feel like a tight community. Everyone on staff, from the Pals to the nurses, the therapists and kitchen staff, they all make this a safe and loving place to live. Our loved one states that he feels like he fits in. I had the pleasure when visiting this community for an assessment. Overall, I was blown away with all of engaging activities going on. The staff are all extremely friendly as well as the residents. The community is sparkly clean. Great Community!!

After visiting many local assisted living facilities for a family member, we decided Belmont was the right place. It’s in a very convenient location near Santana Row. What impresses us the most was the professionalism of all the staff. Everyone we met before and after the move has always been helpful and in good spirits. We ate at the restaurant they have a few times and I was impressed with the quality of the food. A special thank you to Yaseen who helped educate and guide us through onboarding our family member. We’ve never had to do anything like this before, so are extremely grateful for him being there for us. And for our family member who moved there, well he couldn’t be happier. He’s been enjoying the activities they offer, making new friends, and is getting better each week thanks to their talented physical rehabilitation crew.

Floor 3 was very short staffed today, which was disconcerting watching the staff that was there scurry around. I received a reply 2 months after I did the review and was told by the corporate office to send this to the San Jose facility. First, the reply is 2 months old, and second, why can't you just forward it?

Disappointed and angry no one came to help my grandma go to the restroom in a timely manner since all workers were on a break. She was very distressed waiting for help and ended up going in her pants since she couldn't hold it. There should always be someone covering breaks(not taking them at the same time), or workers need to end their break early and come help when a resident has a need that cannot wait. This seems like a very basic level expectation that anyone in a client service position should be expected to do, such a teacher, nurse, social worker, etc...

For a year and a half now, I come each week on Thursdays and every other Tuesday to provide music activities to the Assisted Living and Memory Care folks at Belmont Village. I've always found your facility to be clean, and the residents happy. The staff have always been very helpful, often going out of their way to ensure the success of the activities.

Making the decision to move my father to memory care was extremely difficult. He was a fiercely independent person and did not want to leave his living situation despite it being unsafe for him as his dementia progressed. I really appreciated the continued guidance and understanding from the Belmont Staff during his 2 year stay- especially from those who worked closest with my dad- Allyson, Gilda and the 3rd floor nurses/PALS. Everyone recognized my dad's hesitation and fear and took the time to get to know him and adjust their approach accordingly. Two months after we moved him in, Covid hit and the shelter-in-place took effect. The staff was able to pivot and provide residents with options for connection such as window visits with family, daily/weekly Facetime calls and sharing emails with pictures/letters. Their efforts put my mind at ease and we were able to remain connected with my dad the best we could during such a difficult period. He even was able to meet and visit with his grandson (born in March 2020) which always left him with a smile. I am so grateful for this team and all they did for him. At the end, he was able to pass peacefully and with dignity- in part to the care and respect he was showed at Belmont.

Deciding to move my grandmother to a senior living facility was not an easy experience, but Belmont Village has been delightful to work with and made the transition as smooth as I could have hoped for. We have been treated with the utmost respect and kindness, and my grandmother seems to be adjusting so much better than we expected. Kirsten Sund is absolutely delightful; she answered all of our initial questions promptly and fully and coordinated my grandmother's move to the facility for us. I haven't had many opportunities to interact with the rest of the management team at Belmont yet, but the bits of conversation I've had so far have felt very genuine and sincere. I'm so pleased with Belmont, and I'm grateful to have found a nice place for my grandmother.

Belmont Village has been a great place for my mom, who is in their memory care unit. The staff and activity people have all become a second family. Mind you this is not the cheapest place you will find, but my mom lived through a world war in italy and struggled in this country as an immigrant and she derves to be well taken care of in this stage of her life.

Belmont Village San Jose is a beautiful community with wonderful staff and residents. It is conveniently located near all major freeways, has an amazing view of the famed Winchester Mystery House across the street, and next to Santana Row (great for shopping, dining, and a nice stroll).

My mom has been staying at Belmont Village since July 2018. I live in the area and visit at least 5 times a week. I have been extremely impressed with the level of care and quality of the staff. My mother is greeted by her Pal in the morning with a warm welcome. She has been resistant to getting help bathing on occasion and they give her encouragement but do not force her. Although this approach may lead to a few missed showers I believe it is in her best interest. My mom also had periods when she was upset in the evenings and when I call they have a Pal come check in on her immediately and help calm her down. The senior staff is very professional and well respected. Keith has always been more than helpful and stepped in to get my mom's air conditioner fixed when it wasn't working properly. Additionally, Phil and Amanda are awesome. I can tell they love what they do and Amanda has sent me pictures of my mom on occasions when she sees her having a particularly good time. Chef Patrick is top notch and I've shared pics of 2 of the events at Belmont a Sunday brunch and party of 2 floors of residents. They do an awesome job here and I would recommend Belmont to anyone looking. Thanks Belmont staff continue taking excellent care of mom 🙂
