December 2023
Visiting here has always been a pleasant experience. The staff is kind, helpful and truly invested in taking care of their residents.

Google maps shows the wrong address. This has caused UPS to return several medication packages as undeliverable. Ivy Park lists their address as San Diego CA 92128 but Google Maps shows it as Poway CA 92064

We moved our sweet mother into Ivy Park Sabre Springs three months ago. It's been a wonderful experience all around. Every staff member that we've encountered has been friendly, kind, and attentive. The medical staff has been wonderful and very communicative with us when something is happening. We are very appreciative of their efforts and support. The food is deliciously presented on nice table settings. She says, " It's like eating at a fine restaurant!" The interiors are beautiful decorated using light and pleasing color combinations throughout. It's a pleasure stopping by to visit our mom with so many happy faces greeting us. Best of all, our mom is happy and feels safe.

I opened this building several years ago as the sales director along side many of the team members that are still in place. It is amazing to see the tenure and dedication to the care of our residents and families. Proud to support this amazing team!
October 2023
Sunrise has been a blessing for our family. The staff is attentive and caring. The Director Kimberly Santillian has gone above and beyond to provide the comforts needed and I would definitely recommend Sunrise to my friends.

Every time I enter here it is so warm and friendly. They want the best for each resident, they go above and beyond for each. All staff are hands on including administration. No mater what the issue, residents always comes first. It really feels like home here.

Sunrise of Sabre Springs is a beautiful community that offers multi - level care in one building. The team is incredible there from the sales team to the front line staff. Residents enjoy meals, great care as well as fun outings. I attended a networking event there and was able to meet the nurse and care coordinators. The grounds are modern and well maintained. Residents are able to age in place.
September 2023
What a wonderful facility! We have had the privilege of working with residents there and the staff is so helpful and attentive to their residents. The activities staff are particularly good, making sure that everyone is getting out and participating in fun events. The resident services director makes sure that every resident is receiving the care they need and that outside providers, like hospice home health and home care are reporting their current status so that all are on on the same page. It is a joy to work with Sunrise Sabre Springs on a personal and a professional level.

Sunrise did a great job in assisting a family find the right place for their mom in Memory Care. Taira and Gaby were key to making this family feel comfortable and confident in their ability to take care of their mom. They followed up, stayed in contact each step of the way and didn't hesitate to make adjustments as things changed. As a placement agency, we can bring in the clients but it's up the community to show and tell why they are the right fit and that's what they did! It's great working with people who care, listen and execute. Thank you for being a great referral partner!
August 2023

July 2023
I visited Sunrise Sabre Springs looking for a community for my mom during my visit. I was able to meet with the executive Director, Kimberly Santillian, and was very impressed by her friendliness and her willingness to hear my story. I really enjoyed our time getting to know the other people that live in the community as well as seeing them active. I was able to observe an entertainer at the community and it looks like a lot of fun. I would recommend this community to my friends. And I'm glad I found the perfect place for my mom.
July 2023
My experience volunteering at sunrise was an experience that other people should because I've felt good taking care of the residents and making them feel comfortable about everything. But also the staff has been very caring and over the top about getting their work done.

Don't forget to stop by and have a tour here. I highly recommend
June 2023
Many families I have worked with have been very happy at Sunrise of Sabre Springs. This is a great community located right off the freeway in Poway. With it's smaller size, there is a great feeling of home and family, while still having all the activities and social aspect of a larger setting.
May 2023
Smaller overall property compared to similar places in Poway and Rancho Bernardo. No swimming pool or putting green if required. These activities may be off-property. Memory care was on the third floor. There is a special dining room for resident's guests to dine when visiting.
May 2023
We have been looking for a community that my Mom would like. And I believe we have found it. Great staff, friendly neighbors with lots of activities for mom to enjoy. We stayed for lunch that was like eating at a cafe. Food and wait staff were great!
May 2023
The food is amazing. Ivan always cooks a delicious dish. Never disappointed in what he makes .
April 2023
Update. As of July 1st, 2023, Sunrise is no longer the management company. Ivy Park is now managing several locations that Sunrise used to manage. Since the change, there have been numerous improvements. The former executive director from Sunrise is gone. The residents are much happier. The service has improved. The food is better and served in a timely manner most of the time. There are new maintenance people who are fixing the existing problems in which they inherented from Sunrise. The former company, Sunrise, was trying to save as much money as they could by not paying their bills. For instance, the food supplier, Sysco, wasn't paid for some time and refused to make food deliveries after Ivy Park took over until the bill was paid. This is just one example of what was going on from the former executive director. The residents feel that they are being treated better and are being listened to. Ivy Park has a challenge but seem to be doing very well with the changes that they are making. This location seems to have trouble, whereas the other locations have not. I found it horrifying that the former executive director, whom I have never mentioned by name, accused my parents of writing the review for Sunrise. She summoned them to her office and gave them a talking to. After her discovery of this review from her main office. My parents have been at Sunrise for several months. I visit them often. The grounds are nice and well kept. Although most of the employees are friendly, there are some major shortcomings. The food isn't very good. There's a menu, but they are constantly out of several items. Food service is very poor the majority of the time. Service seems to improve if I'm dining there. The residents wait for their meals for up to an hour before they're served. Then they don't always get what they ordered. Often, they wait 30 minutes before someone takes their order. The servers leave to do other jobs 30 minutes before the time dinner is over, leaving residents without their full meal. Laundry comes back wet. When it was pointed out, the laundry was picked up and hasn't been returned, so for a week. Some residents need help getting out of bed. In a couple of cases, residents didn't get breakfast because nobody got them out of bed. There's consistant noise above my parents' living area caused by chairs being dragged. They're trying to get the problem solved for months. Spraying foam insulation in the area would solve the problem. The garage door breaks often. The door from the garage to get into the building has been nonfunctional for a couple of weeks. The executive director has lost several employees. She has a it's my way or no way. attitude. Housekeeping isn't constant. The place is run very short-handed on purpose. The last time I went in, I asked if there was ever a time when everything worked at the same time. Answer we fix it, then things break again. Basically, I see this place that has a captured audience, and the residents can't have any recourse.

Sunrise of Sabre Springs is a great place to live and visit. I've had the pleasure of visiting many times and I have only ever experienced encounters with friendly and professional staff members that are always willing to help. You get a sense that they enjoy and take pride in what they do.

This facility is fantastic, the staff are all exceptionally professional and always hear nothing but great things about it ! Been working in the Poway community for a few years now and can honestly say that this is a very well recommended place for our Elderly families. What a wonderful place! At first my mom was hesitant about moving out of her home but then she got involved in activities and took off like she ran the place. She had lots of good times there and we couldn’t be happier. There are so many people to thank for her wonderful new home

November 2022
I toured Sunrise when looking into a place for my grandfather who is considering moving out here. I was impressed by how clean and well maintained the community is. The residents seemed happy and engaged. I would highly recommend this place.
November 2022
As a mobile physician, I love coming to the community. The staff are an extra pair of eyes and ears that help me better take care of the residents there and truly are an extension of my care. The community not only attends to the residents needs, but they are also attuned to their families concerns. The next time anyone comes into the community, not only should you look at the beautiful building and facilities, but they should also look at the smiles on the staff as well as the residents.

October 2022
I toured the community for my mother. The build is beautiful and full of life. The apartments seemed to meet all my mothers needs. The staff look happy and said hello to me as I walked around. I had some concerns about leaving my mother so I got to meet the Administrator Kimberly and she sat down with me and had a nice conversation with me about how they will take care of my mother and make her feel comfortable. Kimberly was kind, friendly and made me feel ok with placing my mother. All I can say is the Kimberly is a treasure to that community.
March 2022
The staff at Sunrise Sabre Springs are a wonderful and special team of people who took incredible care of our Dad, under very difficult circumstances towards the end of his life - we will never forget the kindness and caring you showed him and us.

Nice,very nice. Love being a Part of Sunrise #Sunrise #SanDiego #OprahBoy
November 2021
My father was in Sunrise for one month in January of 2022 and I promptly removed him. To their defense I think I saw the worst of sunrise. They had a covid outbreak 18 staff members and multiple residents so I am sure they were understaffed. My father complained about the food from day one the eggs they use come in a box and he said multiple times they taste like chemicals. Many of the staff members did not wear masks when interacting with residents. They said they have a walking club 2-3 times a day which in reality happens rarely and is one 5 minute loop outside. I encountered a few great staff members but I would not recommend this place. Thankful for Jessica the ED who let me out of my dads lease early. She was understanding and was out sick the month my dad was a resident. We found a great board and care 12 bed home in poway. I think that is the way to go for elder care smaller facilities with better staffing.
February 2021
My father was at Sunrise Sabre Springs for 3 1, 2 years. In all of that time I felt that he was taken care of with compassion and kindness. It was a blessing for me that they did such a good job caring for him. This provided me the freedom to focus on just enjoying spending time with him. I will forever be grateful for the Sunrise Sabre Springs staff and the excellent quality of care they gave my dad.
August 2020
Well run facility with high level of care and concern for residents.
July 2020
April 2020
Was looking for a new home for my mother. This place is as good as a 5 star resort.
October 2019
Our family has first hand experience with placing 2 grandmothers in local facilities and touring more than 8, over the past 12 months. Sunrise of Sabre Springs is by far the best. Brand new in mid 2017, the facility was designed to be state-of-the-art in terms of access, convenience, safety, and create a warm, friendly environment. The staff is competent, engaged, welcoming, friendly, and constantly striving to meet my mothers needs. My mother loves the staff and the non-obtrusive way they conduct themselves. After having 6 months to judge the Sunrise experience, I now understand that even more importantly than the staff are the residents and the friends relationships that are fostered and created between the residents. Sunrise residents are not complainers. They want to be engaged in active discussions and activities, which Sunrise provides. Here are a few of the services (you never think about) I have come to rely on: 1. Monthly status calls reviewing my mothers physical, mental, and social well being. 2. Computer records of every medication she takes - date, time, who administered, etc. 3. Immediate calls to her physician if she is in need, with a follow on call to me 24x7. 4. Meals delivered to her room if she is not feeling well, or just plain tired. 5. Complete administration of every medication (she has 11 meds) from working with the doctor on a prescription to ordering refills when needed. I could go on but I think you get the picture. Sunrise has done a great job. 5-stars! Regarding the cost, we did find Sunrise to be 0-20% more expensive than 5 of the other facilities we toured, and 10-20% cheaper than 3 others. Their services are priced a-la-carte, which we liked, because cost is based on need. They do have a move in fee, but so did many of the other facilities we toured. Key word is negotiate, and you do get what you pay for especially when it comes to trained staff. Costs are a function of the size of the apartment you want, the frequency , level of services you need, and the number of medications you need to have administered. We found them to be reasonable. Here is an update after 1 year at Sunrise - 2, 8, 2019After a year at Sunrise, for both of our 91 and 92 year-old grandmothers, we still have great things to say about Sunrise and their staff. One grandmother is reasonably independent and can take care of her basic daily needs (with a lot of help from the Sunrise care team). While the other requires additional care because of her mobility and memory challenges. Both have been able to successfully integrate into the Sunrise community, make interesting friendships, participate in most of the activities, and enjoy the weekly outings (parks, museums, casino, restaurants, beach and mountains). They have come to realize that simple exercise, a great diet, and social interactions are key to creating a happier life-style. One noticeable change is their focus on what they are going to do today, as opposed to what they can no longer do, i.e. driving. We get a lot of questions about what it is like at Sunrise now that over a year has passed and we have had an opportunity to experience their services and community. Here are key examples of what we have experienced: • Their medical team quickly diagnosed an upper respiratory infection that was causing her blood pressure to drop to unsafe levels and rushed her to the ER. The were completely on top of the situation, monitoring her vitals every day and took decisive action. • Every time we visit Sunrise we are greeted by name. Why is this important – the staff takes the time to get to know us and how they can better meet our needs and concerns. Sunrise has had very little staff turnover, so it is much easier to build a relationship with the staff that is used to communicate what is going on with the grandmothers each week.
