October 2022
All levels of staff in this community, Cloisters of the Valley, have exceeded my expectations. As a professional who assists the disabled and aging populations in SD County, this is not always the case. Care is personalized. They take time with residents, offering dignity and respect with interactions in what is now their home; it is not just the facility where they live. Don't pass this community by based on memory care being in the name; I initially made this mistake. If touring communities for you or your loved one, I encourage you to visit Cloisters to see how the staff and other residents make you feel. Set pomp and circumstance aside. Let kindness be your guide.

A family member was here for a short respite stay. He was very happy with his experience and enjoyed his stay at the Cloisters. Rebecca and Isaac were both very kind and helpful to us when we arrived, throughout his stay and even upon his departure. He had a great experience and would be happy to return to stay again in the future.

have had nothing but good experiences with Cloisters of the Valley since moving my wife in. They take kind and gentle care of her, for which I am very grateful. I also feel their protocol to prevent Covid-19 is careful and effective. She seems content, happy even to be there.

I have nothing but great compliments for Cloisters of the Valley. My mother spent the last 3 years of her life here. She was there when the new owners took over. Channa made the transition easy for all the families. They took wonderful care of my mom. I was not able to see her as much as I would like due to Covid, but kept in contact with me. I always new what was going on. As she ended her final days I felt comfortable with her there. She ended her life with the dignity that she should have had. On top of this great care they did a great job keep her Covid free!

When I had to move my mother from a Senior Residence in Connecticut to San Diego because I needed to spend more time with her than I could give her 3000 miles away, I chose Cloisters of the Valley over ll the other places I was shown because of the caring interest of the staff in each resident, and the beauty of the facility and its grounds. She was happy there - her great grandchildren could visit, and engage in the play activities- and the staff and outside services from the administrator Bonnie Dolan on down made her feel special. This was a very good choice for us.

I with My Daughter & A Very Special Friend recently visited here. We were greeted with a warm welcome. This is an outstanding environment for older persons. We were there to drop off “sports cards” I thought the would be fun for the ladies & gentlemen to look thru or take back to their rooms to remember earlier days. I pray that all enjoyed this idea as much as we did putting the “cards” together. If you have a loved one, who needs special care, please come visit here.....you will not give a second thought to have your loved one live here at Cloisters of Valley. Thank You Hannah & Emily, it was a joy to meet you both!

Recently we were desperately on the hunt for a assisted living home for my 90yr young grandmother and when I almost lost all hope Cloisters of the Valley was introduced to me and what a God sent. We moved my Nana in just before Christmas and she is so happy the staff is so friendly and she loves it there. And the facility itself is so beautiful and it feels so much like home better then home. Thank God this place was put in front of us it’s the best decision ever made.

This is the third move for my Mom. I was hoping to keep her closer to PL. I visited Cloisters of the Valley 2-3 times before taking my mom there. The care there is outstanding! Everyone who walks with a cane, walker, wheelchair has an assistant by their side when going to the dining room back. They are happy to help. The nurses are happy to assist extreamly helpful. The rooms are large and have 3 closets. Every room has a patio, with furniture and a beautifully landscaped garden, with seasonal flowers. There are fountains lots of birds. The staff is receptive to my moms needs. This is leaps and bounds better than her last place. It was new and pretty, close to PL, but she wasn’t getting the care we contracted for... Cloisters BEST!

Caring
The Cloisters of the Valley was probably my favorite one for my father because it was small. They only have like 33 residents all on 1 floor and a beautiful garden with a walking path through it, which he would have enjoyed. The people were very friendly. It was a really nice little place. If they wanted one a little more intimate, that would be the way to go.

My father is doing pretty well here at this community. Overall I'am pleased with all they have done for us. It is a pleasant community, with a good staff. There is always a nurse on site. It is a very beautiful community, everything is very nice and clean. The assisted director and some of the other staff members have been there for over 20 years, which is impressive. I would highly recommend for anyone to go check out this community.

Caring
We were looking for a place with gardens and openness, and Cloisters of the Valley was like that. Once they realized that my mom couldnt do the transfer, they right away knew that it was not going to be a place for her. The tour was very nice, and everybody was very cordial and nice. They werent as welcoming as othe places, but I think they realized that it wasnt probably a good fit, too. It was a lovely place. For someone who is ambulatory, it would be perfect.

Cloisters of the Valley is a beautiful facility with the most caring staff ever. My 94 year old mother just moved there and everyone is bending over backward to make sure she is comfortable and happy. The grounds are gorgeous, the interior is gorgeous and the meals are delicious. I recommend this place to everyone who needs a safe and comfortable place for a loved one.

Caring
We recently moved my mother-in-law here so she could be nearer to us. It is a fairly small residential home in Mission Valley. Although in quite a busy area, inside it is peaceful and there is a protected garden around the outside, which residents can roam in safety. Many of the rooms have a patio door and sitting area outside. The hallways and common areas are decorated with very nice paintings and asian art. The staff seem genuinely friendly and really seem to care about residents. One thing that speaks volumes is that many of the staff have worked together for a very long time. Activities include singing along with musicians and exercise classes. The activities we saw were well attended. When we moved her in, the staff did so much to make her comfortable and spent a long time making her room look nice. She already seems happy there.
