Deborah my Residency Councilor on the Marketing Team, worked very closely with me throughout the entire sale process. This support was critical to me with my decision to move into Reata Glen. Throughout my move in process there was strong staff support to answer any questions or concerns I had. They helped me with an easy transition into the community. The community support is very strong. The resident "Area Reps" are friendly and helpful to new residents. They are always around to be supportive which meant a lot to me. My area rep threw a cocktail party for me to be able to meet my neighbors which was really kind. This was a great way to meet other residents. The residents at Reata Glen are very open and friendly. When moved in I felt welcomed with open arms. The activities department has a very comprehensive menu of activities and classes. I tried multiple classes to figure out which one best fit my hobbies and likeness. Water volleyball and water aerobics are my personal favorites. I had a medical emergency shortly after moving in, and throughout this process I was immediately attended to by the medical staff. They were quick to act, follow up, and made sure I was on the road to recovery.

Well it's a beautiful place it's not a good retirement choice for protecting your hard earned savings. Invest at least $400,000 and within 5 years they will ding you 25%. In addition you pay monthly rates of at least $4,000 with no garentee of "rent" maximum monthly increases!

This is the right place for me and my wife to be during this stage of life. Everything seems to be taken care of. And it appears to be the best retierment home around. I am vey impressed with how throughouly everything is organized. If there is a problem anywhere, Reata Glen is on it. I did not expect the people to be so welcoming and hospitable, but they are, and that's great. We have made countless friends in our two months here. Entertainment here is more than we have time for in a regular day. Actvites are great and I am already invloved in the "Yellow Jackets Bicycle Club". Pickleball is next on my list. The food here is top notch. The menu is varied, and the service is more than I expected. I think I'll stay awhile!

We would like to express our gratitude for all the attributes Reata Glen has offered. The following is a few items to note: 1. Staff - The staff strives to make you comfortable and take care of your needs while living here. 2. Organization - Everything is very organized and though out, the app "TouchTown" is very helpful. This keeps things here at Reata efficient. With everything organized this helps with the orientation of new residents to be able to better adjust to the community. 3. Dining- The quality of food and variety is great. The menu changes every night, the dining room is beautiful. I would rate the dining rooms as a 4 or 5 star restaurant. Its a great place to bring my family to dine with me. 4. Holidays - The activities during the holidays are wonderful. The activities for the residents are always new, exciting, and entertaining. 5. Safety - The safety staff is very friendly. With the way the world is today, I feel very safe and protected while living here. 6. Cleanliness - Reata Glen is very clean and spotless. 7. Simple Living - Life at Reata Glen is very simple. There is transportation to take you to your doctor appointments, grocery stores, etc. There are no large amounts of bills I have to pay.

I considered options for retired living but was not motivated to act until I learned about Reata Glen. I attended a presentation at a big hotel in Palm Desert near my home and then a visit, my family included. Here was everything I needed. Location, near my family, perfect climate, beautiful buildings, and apartments, a great staff, kind friendly caring people. A bonus for me too, I have always felt that learning is a lifelong pursuit- and I feel that Reata Glen offers an environment to do just that.

The last few years have been tough for many people. I knew I needed a change. I needed to feel safe and happy. I looked at many places in Orange County. But Reata Glen was my first choice. Things I worried about before moving here simply disappeared. My fear of not finding a place to live where I could thrive were replaced with everything I could ever want. I've replaced feeling "tired and fearful" to a feeling that I can only describe as "I'm blooming here."
November 2022
When we were in our sixties and long-time empty-nesters, we sold our family home of forty years along with all the maintenance woes that went along with it and moved to Orange County into a "55 and Better" retirement community of 284 homes. We lived there happily for twelve years, at which time we heard of plans to build Reata Glen less than 10 miles away. After attending an introductory luncheon at the Talega Golf Club and learning what a CCRC was all about, we put down a refundable deposit. Although we enjoyed senior living our house had stairs and a large yard and we were now in our eighties. It was clear to us that Reata Glen was where we belonged. It would be approximately five years from ground-breaking to move-in giving us plenty of time to downsize and sell our home. We moved into Reata Glen on May 28, 2019. We were referred to as "pioneers" because we were one of the first to do so and we've never looked back. We picked a large sunny apartment on the ground floor and settled in free of all home-owning responsibilities. We have made countless friends and enjoy a plethora of activities and amenities available to us. A year after we moved in, a state-of-the-art medical center was completed adjacent to our clubhouse. The Orchards Medical Center offers Memory Care, Assisted Living and 24-hour Skilled Nursing Care so we have the peace of mind knowing that our long-term care is taken care of. We consider our move to this beautiful Life Plan Community as a gift to our six children. They will not have to physically care for us when the time comes, as we did our parents. We know we made the right decision when we chose Reata Glen. It is everything they said it would be...and more. Our friends say living at Reata Glen is like being on a cruise that never leaves port.

This place is nice and well taken care of the staff is helpful and caring
September 2022
Life is Good! Moving to Reata Glen is one of the best decisions I have ever made. When I became a widow, I did not want to live alone in our large home. I looked at a variety of retirement facilities, and when I visited the Reata Glen community I knew this was where I belong. There are so many activities it is difficult to decide what to choose. The meals are delicious. Safety and medical care the best. I am grateful for the cheerful and helpful staff who made my move so painless. The residents are a nice combination of couples and singles. Everyone is friendly and it has been easy to make friends. The three-step plan is what ultimately made me decide to move here- independent, assisted, and memory care. My children will not need to worry about me when I no longer am able to live independently- Life at Reata Glen is good!
September 2022
Moved in just five months ago, I am finding ReataGlen is a great place to spend my golden years. Location is great, quiet neighborhood, staff are nice and they take care of everything we need.
August 2022
The marketing staff was totally supportive as we went through the phases of deciding, moving, and settling in. Nancy, Kari, and Christy of course were key players, but support by Alyssa and Lyn was important too. We knew Kari and Christy were busy with subsequent move-ins, but they still jumped in and helped us with minor issues. Christy continued to call us once in a while to check in and remind us of orientation meetings. As we are settling in, we feel well supported by the operational departments (Plant Ops, EVS, Safety) as well. There seems to be a Reata Glen style that we really appreciate. In addition, the staff we don't see (laundry, kitchen) do great work as well.
August 2022
I am a Licensed Vocational Nurse that was offered an insulting rate, considering the position and duties entailed. It's a shame that the Executive Director conducts their self is such a manner that has high expectations of their staff, yet stands by the hostel and chaotic onboarding process. I'm glad I didn't accept the job. Before COVID, Nurses were ran over and abused sort of speak. Meaning over worked and underpayed. HR said they offered the highest in their market. I had to laugh. I couldn't belive that they said they pay these highly-qualified professionals, in San Juan Capistrano, CA AT Reata Glen higher than the market. (NOT COMPETITIVE AT ALL) It's disrespectful and quite sickening to be honest. Especially considering how much these residents pay to live in such a beautiful community like Reata Glen. Ultimately I am an advocate for my community and even more so for patients of the community. I believe they deserve the best, especially if they are paying SO MUCH for the HIGHEST quality of care. In turn, don't expect the best while lying about giving MORE than the best. Transparency and communication is key. I hope this helps to get someone's attention that cares about honesty, kindness, and quality of care.
August 2022
After 40 years of home ownership, my wife and I were ready for freedom and peace of mind. We had researched CCRC's for several years and almost moved to one on the campus of ASU. Covid and the hot Phoenix summers gave us the incentive to return to Southern California. We made the move in April of 2022. Reata Glen is located in the middle of beautiful horse properties and protected wildlife areas. The walking, biking and hiking trails are wonderful. We have easy access to San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Laguna Beach, Newport Beach and Dana Point. It's also easy to catch the commuter trains to San Diego, Los Angeles or Santa Barbara. Reata Glen has given us the opportunity to meet so many people. Within a few weeks you feel like you're a part of a community. New residents are accepted immediately and the staff is there to guide them. We've already completed our fitness evaluation and make regular use of the gym. The food is great and you can order take-out when you'd rather eat at one of the outdoor garden patios or in your own home. There are activities and excursions to keep you as busy as you want to be. We couldn't be happier with our decision to live at Reata Glen.
July 2022
Life here at Reata Glen has been so much better than we expected. Even with all the Covid nonsense, we enjoy each day and our new friends. One of the most important lessons we have learned here is that being retired to a retirement home community is really a lot better that we ever thought. Every day we have trips, meetings, clubs, concerts, hobby shop trips, walks and all kinds of activities to keep us completely busy; and none include much cooking, cleaning, gardening or other things that we used to do as normal adults.
July 2022
We have lived at Reata Glen for six months and moving here was one of the best decisions we have ever made. One of us is in their 60's and one the other is in their 70's. We are very active, and our friends and family were questioning our decision to move into a continuing care community at this stage of our lives. We, however, had seen the benefits of a continuing care community when some thirty years ago one of our grandmothers moved into one. We watched her go through all the stages from independent living to hospice care, and we knew that this type of community offered the best way to age. You can enjoy many more activities and people than you would likely have in an independent retirement life, while having the security of knowing your future needs will be met. In fact, there are so many interesting activities and excursions here that we can't come near doing even everything, that interests us. Reata Glen is a beautiful development with many options from 1-bedroom apartments to a few three-bedroom, stand-alone villas. All units are on a single level, which is great if you have or develop mobility issues. One of the best things about Reata Glen is the people. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. In the first few days after moving in, we had met many of our neighbors. People stopped by our house to introduce themselves, often bringing cookies or flowers. When you meet new people there is often an invitation to dinner, which is easy since we all have access to the restaurants here, and we each use our own food points no worrying about splitting checks. Another great feature is the Residency Counselor, Christy, whose job is to help new people learn about all the services and activities, to answer questions and to assist if there are any problems. She was very helpful, and her enthusiasm helped make our transition easy. Each small group of units has an Area Rep who is the area representative to the Residents Counsel and who organizes monthly meetings, dinners and social activities. The Area Rep also helps new people settle in. There is a large staff to provide and manage the many services here, and they are uniformly friendly and helpful. Nancy, the marketing representative who assisted us as we made our decision to move here, was extremely patient and helpful. There were no high-pressure techniques, only an effort to understand what we wanted and to help us understand how Reata Glen could meet our needs. All the staff, from housekeeping and maintenance staff to the department heads and executive director have been friendly, caring, and professional. Until we moved in, we didn't realize what a relief it would be not to have to worry about things like finding an electrician, buying and changing water filters and, probably most of all, cooking. The food here is very well prepared with a lot of variety. The pandemic had affected the structure of the dining facilities and has impacted the ability to maintain a full staff, but Reata Glen has made extraordinary efforts to keep the dining facilities open and to increase their take-out capacity. That approach is typical of the approach we have seen to the few problems that have arisen don't just patch the problem but try to find the best possible solution. We have always found that moving is always a difficult decision and a challenging process, especially as we get older, but we think that moving to Reata Glen has fulfilled our hopes and improved our lives.

I moved to Reata Glen 4 months ago- one of the best decisions I have ever made! Yes, it is hard to make a change, to get rid of your accumulated " stuff" , to downsize, but now that it is all done, it is a relief and a joy! ( plus your kids will love you for it) The move has been very liberating, no more taking care of a home and all that entails. But the best part has been all the wonderful things available here - there is something for everyone: from art classes, to sports activities, classes & lectures, entertainment, movies, excursions, a beautiful library, state of the art work out room, indoor/ outdoor swimming pool- most anything you can think of, they have here. I have discovered pickle ball, ( they arrange games for me) , dog lovers club, and have made many new friends, many while eating delicious dinners in the restaurants. Not having to shop and cook is one of the things I love best about my new home. If I sound enthusiastic, it's because I have found a new chapter in my life, a comfortable happy chapter, and I'm enjoying every new day!

Why I chose to move to Reata Glen. First and foremost I wanted to make sure that I'm taken care of throughout my life. I wanted to make my own choices. During my research comparing Reata Glen to other continuing care retirement communities I decided that it is the best fit for me. Besides all the wonderful amenities I especially appreciate the open spaces and all the beauty this community offers. The many amenities can be found at reataglen.com. I've been here eight months now and I tell you it doesn't disappoint. The residents and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Especially happy here knowing that my sister and brother-in-law will soon be moving here as well. I'm looking forward to new and exciting shared experiences with family.

We are lucky to be living and thriving at Reata Glen. The Residents are wonderful varied and interesting. There is always lots to do or you can do nothing. The employees are helpful and knowledgeable. It is a great place to live, you never feel alone.

Living in Oceanside, we looked throughout San Diego and Orange Counties and found that Reata Glen offered the best choices and accommodations. We love the beautiful surroundings and ambience. Nestled in the foothills of South Orange County there are such lovely views. We especially like the lookout below our home with its 180-degree mountain view. We are so happy with our home, and with all South Orange County has to offer. We are kept very, very, busy with the numerous activities that Reata Glen has planned. With several restaurants there are many food choices, and it is prepared excellently. The health benefits offer great peace of mind as we look towards the futu
June 2022
I have been a resident at Reata Glen for about three months since I moved from Laguna Beach. I am just delighted. I am a widower so Reata Glen is the place for me. Activities here are endless. My days are filled with movies, lectures, exercise classes, fun activities provided to the residents. There was New Years Eve Casino night with a roulette table, craps table, poker and good times. Hawaiian Day, with everyone wearing their finest Hawaiian wear. We watched a hula show with music in the theater, and were served trays of Mai-Tais and hors d'oeuvres. Fiesta's with Margaritas, chips & salsa and the works. The food is delicious. There are so many choices that make it difficult to decide what to eat. All the people here are very friendly, both residents and staff. The staff go out of their way to keep us entertained and given good reason why we chose Reata Glen. The gym and pool are excellent. Since I have moved in, I have more exercise, I eat better, sleep better, and have met many interesting residents, so if one wants a social life full of things to do and wonderful people to meet, this is the place. When I leave the premises to run errands, meet friends, or go out for entertainment, I am always happy to return to get away from traffic, noise, and the hubbub of daily life. In short, I am really happy to be at Reata Glen, which is often compared to a five-star hotel or a cruise ship on land. As I have told some, a team of wild horses couldn't get me out of here.

Now three months at RG........ True we don't miss Colorado winters, but moving here was the best decision we could have made. Much apart from the fine weather and family in Irvine, it's the people here. We all have one common denominator ............ Moving to RG is a huge gift to each other and to our sons. Our sons couldn't take care of us when health issues arise. We married to be health givers for life, but RG gives us each a caring assist we would not find in our previous community. Long term care insurance doesn't begin to cover expenses that can arise when we no longer can live independently. We were embraced by our neighbors and fellow pickleball players. Our social life has never been as active. Downsizing and moving is challenging but the result is well worth it! Larry and Livvy Gibb

18 months ago, I applied for a Wellness Nurse position at Reata Glen. As a nurse, I had not worked in a community like Reata Glen before, but, I believed my knowledge and experience would translate well. I was offered the position, but more so, an opportunity, to become part of an amazing community, w/ wonderful residents and high quality professionals. Within a short period of time, my director approached me about taking on a larger role within the Nursing Department and I excelled in my new position. Along the way, I have been fairly compensated, but more importantly, rewarded beyond monetary incentives. I get to work with an amazing director, who I have learned so much from and continue to be a guiding light in my professional life. I am part of an incredible Resident Health Services team that supports one another. I belong to an organization that truly values their employees. During COVID, our community has dealt with many challenges. All along the way, the organization has been attentive, conscientious, and supportive to the needs of the residents and staff. It's because of that, there is a real sense of community at Reata Glen.
April 2022
We toured and researched various other communities and chose Reata Glen. Our surroundings are beautiful, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the residents are active and fun. It was a big decision but we have no regrets. We were overwhelmed with the move but were soon welcomed by neighbors, and greeted by our fabulous area rep Karen. Christy helped with the transition and all of the staff has been so helpful. There is so much to do here! There are many clubs and more casual gatherings, there are many beautiful areas ( inside and out) where we can relax, read, or write or visit. There is a well-appointed gym, the pool is always warm, and there are exercise classes, dance classes, and classes to address any physical needs. Reata Glen sits on a beautiful 60 acre campus. We were delighted when we saw out first deer grazing on the mountain! The weather has been lovely, with the breeze coming up from Dana Point via the San Juan Creek. It's quite idyllic year round. And they feed us! Shawn and his staff prepare and serve lovely meals and always with smiles. Although we have a kitchen we do very little cooking.... No lists, prep, cooking, or cleaning! We use the microwave to make popcorn! We wanted to relocate to a place where we could live out our lives in comfort. We chose Reata Glen because it offers living arrangements across the continuum, of needs. If and when we need more there is Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, Memory Care, or Hospice available. In conclusion, this has been a big decision, but also a wise one.

I am very fortunate in life to live in a large mansion call Reata Glen. Since it is a mansion in comes complete with a library, theater, billiards room, card room, ball room, wood shop, fitness center, indoor pool with a retractable roof, spa, sauna, tennis court, pickle-ball court, boccie ball court, putting green, outdoor fireplace, and gazebo, koi pond, waterfall and stream, reflective pond, and 3 dining rooms. I also have a large staff to care for both my mansion and myself. So I have a Chef who presents me with a menu to choose my meals form, waiters and servers, housekeepers, maintenance personnel, gardeners to keep the grounds beautiful, a nurse to monitor my health, and activities director who constantly comes up with entertainment venues for me, and a safety staff that provide security at the gate as well as being trained EMT's to provide emergency help within minutes 24/7. I worked hard in life and feel truly blessed to live where I do now and enjoy the fruits of my success.
March 2022
I moved into Reata Glen in the height of the omicron variant covid cases. I became aware of the staff shortage here right away and was prepared to experience some inconveniencies. I quickly learned that the amazing staff here would do anything to help me adjust to this new chapter in my life. I witnessed them going way beyond their particular job, pitching in to help each other, providing a pared down cleaning service, helping the restaurant servers by waiting on tables, washing dishes and responding to residents needs to adjust living at Reata Glen. In short, there were no real inconveniencies. I'm especially grateful to Christy who became a maintenance, security, dining, cleaning, technical, and activity expert. She came to my apartment several times to help me navigate the touchtown system, encouraged me to attend "The Reata Glen Presents" meetings, made sure I knew how to order dinner and helped me get my internet installed. At the "Club Fair" she introduced me to another new resident that she thought I would like and that resident and I have become "Best Friends." I have seen Christy interact in her usual positive way with staff and residents and she has made me confident that I made the right d ecision to move to Reata Glen.

I recently moved my 97-year-old mom into an independent living apartment at Reata Glen. My mother was initially very apprehensive about this move. Four months later, I can not tell you how thrilled both she and the rest of my family have been with this decision. There are so many superlatives that I can use to describe our experience that it is tough to choose. The physical accommodations, the quality of the food, and the staff's professionalism are truly first-rate. A bonus is that the people she has met have genuinely enriched her life. The grounds and quality of the public spaces have to be seen to be believed. The variety of the menus and associated staff create an inclusive, welcoming environment. The activities that are constantly being updated provide for an active social life. My mom and the entire family are truly grateful to have found Reata Glen; we cannot imagine a place more suited for this time in my mom's life. One last shout-out to the staff at Reata Glen, all of you, go so far beyond anything we could have ever hoped.

I was not looking for a place to move. I wanted to stay in my home. At the urging of my children" to just look. It's just like living in a resort." I did and was amazed at what was available. I never wanted to be a burden on my family. Little did I know what was in it for me. Everything is first-class; beautiful, well-kept surroundings, and accommodations, surpassing all I could hope for. Health and safety have top priority. One can be as idle or as busy as desired with life- long learning classes, entertainment, or activities involving special interests. Many opportunities for an active social life with some of the nicest people in the world. As well as delicious food. The staff is always friendly and ready to help. I have the freedom and peace beyond my wildest dreams. I love it here!
January 2022
Our daughter found Reata Glen and really encouraged us to take a look. We were surprised to find all that the Reata Glen community has to offer. Moving in to Reata Glen was a difficult decision but we felt it was the best choice to ensure that we were both taken care of in the future. The activities are immense, the staff tries so hard to include anything people would like. However, the best part is the people who we have met, they have been so inclusive and welcoming. There is no shortage of people to have dinner with, and we so enjoy the great social life we now have. This has been a great decision.
January 2022
In 2017, we moved to our brand new house in Irvine & upgraded everything and planning to retire in it. By chance we visited Reata Glen on August 2019, after we heard the presentation and see the brand new surrounding environment, we putted down the deposit & let them know we'll move to here within 2 years. After went home and some more discussions, we decided that we find a great place to live & peace of mind for having continuous care facility right next to us. Why wait? so we moved to here December 2019. We have been living here for 2 years already, love & appreciate what they offer. We feel grateful & blessed to live here and have good health to enjoy it now, instead of wait till too old to move. We made one of the best decision for ourselves for moving here.

One of the best things about living in Reata Glen are the residents. We meet people who have lived all over the world and have had so many interesting careers and life experiences. We have made so many new friends and it is a joy to go to meals with someone new and learn about them. We also find that we have other friends from the past in common. The residents are Reata Glen's greatest assets.

Beautiful property! I can see why they were voted best retirement community in Orange County. My honorary parents are in very good hands.

Life at Reata Glen is easy! I no longer have to think about shopping, cooking, the gardener, etc. Friendly, welcoming people. Excellent food. Lots of activities for your body, mind and soul!

My decision to move to Reata Glen eight months before my actual retirement date was to be an early preview of what my life could be like post retirement! It has been all that and so much more, and I've been counting down the days to 12/31/21. I thought what I would find is a safe, secure, lovely place to live with lots of conveniences and activities. While all that is certainly true, what I also found is a wonderful new community of fascinating friends and heartfelt connections to people I knew and had lost contact with. For me, friendships are life blood and I have met so many people who willingly share their rich life stories to this ever curious person. Books could be written! New friendships, renewed friendships, new interests, new connections continue to grow and fill my heart. Moving to Reata Glen has been the most delicious decision I've made in a long time.

Covid19 Virus; Do WE really want to live this close to other people Many people in close living conditions are at much higher risk in all plague type circumstances Almost No parking? Am I prepared for almost anything??? Will I run out of money?

Visiting family. They love it here.
October 2021
I moved into Reata Glen the end of January and it is hard to put into words how welcoming everyone has been - staff and residents. The learning curve was huge but after seven weeks and lots of assistance from very helpful folks I feel very much at home. A beautiful campus with fountains and waterfalls and where I have seen deer, bunnies and roadrunners when out walking. All kinds of activities (exercise classes, bingo, swimming, movies and more) even in the midst of Covid. The food is outstanding and always a lovely variety to choose from. Lots of folks with dogs and so I have had a chance to do some dog sitting - something I enjoyed before I moved here. Making lots of friends and feeling like every day is a vacation day!

My father is a very independent, strong, vibrant man. Three years ago, we heard about Reata Glen, and after many conversations he begrudgingly agreed to move in. We both love that he is living a great independent life now, but also have the piece of mind that he's made his own choice if and when he needs the next level of care. What I have found is that the security are all trained EMT's. The gym and trainer are great. There are nice restaurants with good food, he doesn't need to prepare. The personal has been exceptional, always returning calls and letting me know if there is ever an issue.

Reata Glen is an amazing place to live. Having to move and downsize is not fun, but once settled in, it is wonderful here. The staff is always available and treat us like family. I have not met anyone who lives here that is unhappy with their life here. This is independent living with perks. The best decision I could have made.

How fortunate I am to be living in the most wonderful community of Reata Glen. It is not only beautiful but is a place where one can be involved in a multitude of activities, and have the opportunity to develop friendships with the most incredible people. I consider myself extremely blessed to be able to live the rest of my life in such an amazing environment.

Two years ago when I officially became an octogenarian, I knew it was time for me to move to a Senior Community. The obvious reasons for moving to Reata Glen were accessible healthcare, downsizing for a senior citizen, comradery with people in my age group, and availability to many amenities such as multiple exercise classes, hobby rooms ,sports activities, entertainment, and the like. It has been a pleasant surprise to me, that I really enjoy living here in Reata Glen. I have my independent life. I have wonderful neighbors, the employees are all so friendly, the campus is so beautiful, restful, and peaceful. I am so happy I decided to move here to Reata Glen.

Well organized, senior apartments. Clean and friendly staff
July 2021
Alan and I want to thank the Reata Glen staff for all the hard work that was put in organizing the Vaccination Clinic for us residents. It was, as usual, a wonderful Reata Glen event planned with fun and magnificent organization. The staff never ceases to amaze us with the way you plan events which are always better than we expected. Who would have thought we would play Bingo while we had to sit for a few minutes after we received our vaccinations. It was wonderful having our appointment time set up with residents on the same floor because we got to see all our neighbors together in one place. We miss seeing our friends so much and are looking forward to being "free" again as soon as possible. Your hard work, care and concern for us is helping us get back to normal and we are so thankful to be here during the pandemic. So many of our friends, who don't live here, are scurrying around trying to get their vaccinations so we feel so blessed that you arranged for us to get our shots here. You are all so appreciated, thank you. Karen and Alan Ros

In January 2016, I paid a deposit for an apartment in a life care care community to be built on sixty acres of land near San Juan Capistrano which was then a commercial lemon grove operated by the Rancho Mission Viejo Company. There were no model homes, just architectural renderings, building plans and promises of what was to come. In May 2019, the construction barricades were removed, and the early depositors got to see their new homes. Everything was exactly the way it had been promised. The construction quality of the community is outstanding - much better than ever expected. No expensive upgrades needed! Then came the early move-ins and the new community came to life. Things were wonderful until the world pandemic struck in March 2020. Life changed for all of us in an instant. Suddenly, Reata Glen had to reinvent itself. Every employee had a new function in order to be able to provide daily services for the quarantined residents. They did a superb job and are continuing to do so as the community emerges from a long, dark period. We have been vaccinated and are looking forward to resuming life as promised. Recently they were able to get the health care component of the community licensed and open to provide skilled nursing, assisted living and memory care if we should need those services. Congratulations to all!

When I was looking for an independent living community, I considered a few criteria : 1. A facility that's run by experienced and reputable management groups 2. New or well maintained facilities that's well appointed and functional 3. CC&R licensed 4. Decent food that's important because I don't cook Given a few opportunities to visit Reata Glen during construction then after construction was completed, I found the common areas are well appointed and the living units are well layout functionally and the garden areas are well manicured. So I decided to relocate here thirteen months ago from Palos Verdes after living there for forty seven years. Being here at Reata Glen, I find management has been doing their best to work with the residents to provide them a pleasant, safe and practical environment as they possibly can. Even during the lockdown, Management tries to provide as many activities as permissible to keep the residents engaged and entertained. Also the residents have meal delivery safely every day to every unit. Are there mishaps? Like mostly anything in life, there were, yet always, management is willing to make adjustments.

Why I Moved To Reata Glen Personal Position At the age of 77, I was divorced from my wife of over 55 years. Our three children are well situated in life but the nearest to me is 900 miles away. After turning 80, I realized that I needed to plan for the forward years. The benefit of having a skilled nursing nearby drew me to research the Reata Glen community in more detail. I had many questions. After a few meetings and discussions with the marketing rep, I made the decision to move and did so on June 28, 2021.. What I Enjoy About Reata Glen After getting acquainted with the facility for the past few months, I have found that Reata Glen does answer all my questions. The community is well equipped and professionally operated.. -The meals that were advertised have turned out to be more than expected. It also turns out to be quite a daily social event. People seem to look forward to dining with new residents just to make them feel at home.. -The Gym...The equipment is of the Kaiser pneumatic type, which is user friendly. The community is professionally monitored and offers classes to teach the means and usage of all equipment. It appears that many residents are on the same exercise schedule and become "gym rats" together.. -Pool and Spa. I play a lot of golf and have had back surgery. The pool and spa are great relief for my back. Also, a place for more socializing.. -Social Events...there always seems to be something going on. Concerts, happy hours, excursions, etc.,etc,..I have enjoyed them all!! -Communications...the community has its own website which is updated daily. All residents are uniformly informed by simply turning on Touchtone..Available are seasoned residents that offer introductory classes.. Kind of a unique situation.. -Future Plans at Reata Glen -Have signed up to start Bridge lessons in early October. I enjoy cribbage but have always wanted to learn bridge.. -Hope to learn the art of mahjong in the near future.. -Other plans....Woodworking shop, more excursions.. Summary After being at RG for a few months, it appears that I definitely made the right decision to move here...My three children may be doing well in life, but now so is Dad
June 2021
My parents recently toured Reata Glen and found it to be spectacular. The many choices of upscale living arrangements, classes, restaurant choices (the food was "amazing") and variety of activities to keep them busy were just a few of the highlights of this "resort" style active living. I believe the genuine, caring attitude of the staff was another of its most outstanding characteristics. There is also a real sense of community with the staff and guests there.
June 2021
I came to Reata Glen 10 years after my wife of 46 years passed away. I had researched and looked at a number of similar communities that could provide the environment I was looking for: a vibrant active place with the all the opportunities to live the life I wanted especially in the manner I wanted to live it. I found that Reata Glen best met all my needs. I am comfortable, I have met so many kind and interesting people, they are now my neighbors and good friends. We have varied life interests and experiences but share approximately the same time span we grew up in. I find that very relaxing. My children and grandchildren visit often and when I go on vacations and I don't worry about home and maintenance. I am steps away from pool and gym and several restaurants to dine in. Friends and I like to cook and we bring our popular recipes to the table on special occasions. I have been a lifetime gardener and when I retired, I entered the Master Gardener program at UCI. I am fortunate to be able to continue gardening at Reata and help my fellow residents with their horticultural activities

Been here almost 2 years and we love it! One of best decisions we've made. The staff is great!
May 2021
One of the unexpected perks of living at Reata Glen is the Hobby Shop.. The Hobby Shop is for people who love to pass time and, in the end, feel like they accomplished something by creating a project with their hands....There's lots of gratification in that! At my previous residence I had a little garage workshop where I spent many rewarding hours. Many times I'd see something and think, "I can make that". Now Reata Glen has a place where I can continue my projects. I certainly had fun making my family Christmas gifts in 2020! Our hobby shop has a wealth and tools and equipment, all well organized. Knowledgeable committee members are willing and ready to answer questions and assist when asked. I would encourage any resident to visit the Shop and be impressed!
May 2021
This place is a delight. Last year friends suggested we find a retirement community before we really needed it, move in, get to know folks, have a support group when medical issues arise. We might even like it... What great advice. We arrived and started meeting active, friendly people with amazing stories. We'd join them and laugh as we all tried to learn line dancing, or new yoga positions, or celebrate birthdays. Dinners were conversational smorgasbords. We hiked local trails, rode bikes, walked the campus, swam, met at the fire pit for wine & cheese... The staff is great and there's always something interesting they have organized for us to do. When COVID hit, the amazing staff organized meal deliveries, scavenger hunts, on-line activities, and generally made it as comfortable and fun as possible. Gradually they began offering outside classes (limited attendance), moved exercise equipment outside, residents organized pickle ball games (over 30 players, three days a week)... In short, this is a great community with friendly, active people that stimulate and make life interesting. True, we came here in part for the long-term medical care, but, somehow, the daily activities, wonderful people and incredibly helpful staff makes all that seem like a secondary reason to live here. This is a great community.
May 2021
Living here is like a college campus for seniors. It has parties, dances, clubs, sports, games, actives, special events, excursions, and plenty of social gatherings to please everyone. Some say living here is like being on a cruise ship with all the amenities without having go go out to sea. Whichever analogy you prefer, Reata Glen is a pretty cool place to live. It's secure, friendly, and fun. No matter your age you will make new friends and find plenty of things to keep you busy.

My mom has now been in Reata Glen for a month and she is the happiest I've seen her in years! She has been alone for years since the passing of my stepfather and very lonely. She is a very social person with lots of activities but now that she's at RG, she is busier than ever and loving every minute of it. As her daughter, I have tremendous peace of mind knowing that she is safe and well taken care of. I even asked what's the youngest they can take people as my husband and I would love to live there! I highly recommend Reata Glen; you will not be disappointed. The grounds, the staff, the activities and the food are all incredible. They have thought of every minute detail to make it a wonderful living experience.
April 2021
We feel very blessed to be living at Reata Glen. Our children were involved in our decision making and encouraged us while we were looking. We were a little nervous about this transitional move, but after only a few weeks of occupancy, we realized we had made the best of decisions. After 18 months of living here, there have been no regrets. The location is perfect, close to the beach, shopping and medical care. We have been well taken care of from day one. Many friendships have been made and we feel we have known these friends for years. The staff is very friendly and helpful, no matter the situation. They treat us as if we were family. A full range of activities are available with many options from which to choose. Activities for holidays and special events are numerous throughout the year. Our children have been extremely impressed with the accomodations, meals and the environment. They feel that our living here is a gift to them, knowing we are happy and safe.
March 2021
I'm sitting in the lobby of a hotel in St. Louis reflecting, as I have coffee - it's quite early. I'm feeling so overwhelmed with gratitude to be able to live in such a beautiful community as Reata Glen. We have incredible "close friends" and many many friends to smile with and visit. I am so glad Bob and I were "pioneers", moving in early and able to help in small ways - help new people and hopefully, Reata Glen. Bob and I will never forget that first ride up the hill ....the "Welcome Home" sign, balloons, red ribbon. But mostly - ALL the employees in the cul de sac to greet us! Thank you for creating those memories for us. Thank you to the activities team, for creating so many fun ideas. And, the Marketing team, thank you for assisting us in all the ways you have and still do. We could not appreciate all of the staff more than we do. I am so grateful to be able to grow older here with friends. I am blessed by all of you. I know these past months have been so difficult for all of you, as for us - thank goodness you all have the skills and hearts that you do.
March 2021
Wow what a beautiful community with kind caring staff. They thought of it all here.
March 2021
For those of you seeking an amazing community for your senior parents, look no further! We were looking for a community which allowed my parents to maintain their independence, but to also be "my eyes and ears" since I live so far away. I kid you not, it is like living on a luxury cruise ship, or dare I say, Club Med for Seniors? Everything is taken care of for you and then some. My parents have been constantly smiling and laughing since arriving at Reata Glen, telling story after story with enthusiasm of their new life there and the new friends that they've met. I used to hear, "I'm never leaving my home, I will die in my house!", to "Why didn't we move to Reata Glen sooner??", especially after having been isolated during COVID in their home of 30+ years. Dad now wants to become a video blogger to show how fun life as a senior can be! You can't get more inspiring than that! I no longer worry. We can speak with confidence that we most certainly made the right decision to introduce my parents to Reata Glen. Thank you to the entire team who made it happen so easily and so seamlessly. We are forever grateful for all you've done for my family.
March 2021
We moved into Reata Glen 14 months ago from a wonderful house in Laguna Beach with a great ocean view and unfortunately lots and lots of stairs. It was not an easy decision but we could not be happier that we made the move.. Reata Glen has proven to be everything we hoped for and more, We have a very comfortable and bright living space with its own great view of the neighboring hills. We have made many new and interesting friends and enjoy the various amenities and activities, particularly the pool and very well equipped gym.We enjoy walking as well, and have found a half dozen very nice walks outside the campus in addition to ample walking opportunities on the beautifully landscaped campus itself. The food has been excellent with lots of variety and it certainly beats shopping and cooking at home. We are particularly pleased that we are here now during the Covid pandemic. The staff which has always been very friendly and helpful is going all out now to help keep us safe and healthy. At this point there have been no cases of Covid among the residents unlike many other comparable facilities. This is a real testimonial to the residents and staff working together to keep the virus at bay. Whenever our kids visit they comment on how living here is like living in a 5 star resort. We couldn't agree more and will always be thankful we made the decision to make Reata Glen our home.
March 2021
Moving to Reata Glen was one of the best things we have ever done. We have loved meeting all the residents here, the wonderful programs, the freedom from house/yard maintenance, enrichment, exercise, and culture programs are just a few of the activities. Our meals are fabulous too. It's like being on a cruise ship that never sails.
March 2021
My husband and I moved to Reata Glen 14 months ago from Arizona. We knew this was the right place for us. It is near our children and grandchildren, a great location, and a beautiful facility. But we had no idea just how wonderful Reata Glen is. It has totally surpassed all of our expectations. We have met so many wonderful new friends, we are participating in several of the many offered activities, the food is amazing and the staff extraordinary. We still can't believe our good fortune. Reata Glen is the perfect forever home.
February 2021
Imagine a five-star cruise ship with all the amenities (minus the ocean). Reata Glen exceeds this! Since our move here in 2019, our retirement years have improved daily. We love our three-bedroom Garden Terrace unit, with magnificent views from every room. No worries about maintenance or utility bills. Reata Glen takes care of that. The grounds are impeccably maintained, with trees, flowers, and water features in abundance. There are activities and clubs for almost any interest, as well as a movie theater and frequent live entertainment at their fireside or in the auditorium. The staff is exceptional! During the pandemic shut-in we were kept entertained and safe. Our meals, which we chose from a daily menu, were delivered to our door. How convenient is that? We've made many new friends here and find ourselves busy having fun rather than worrying about household problems. We love that there's 24-hour security too. It's a wonderful place to spend our retirement years and we highly recommend it for fantastic, worry-free living.
February 2021
This is a personal opinion of only some of our experiences living in the Reata Glen's community. I'm not trying to "market" Reata Glen CCRC. It's just that we are extremely pleased with our new home, lifestyle, the world-class facilities and especially the new friends that we've made. So, we have no reservations bragging about it. We have been residents since June 2019 after waiting two years for it to open and to be able to move-in. We're very satisfied with our decision to move here. Life has been great. This was especially true prior to March 2020 when COVID-19 imposed some activity restrictions. However, even with the COVID imposed issues, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a resident who's not pleased with our community and its lifestyle. Many COVID restrictions are being eased and life is returning more to "normal". Pickleball, a cycling group, the gym and the woodworking hobby shop have become our often-used activities and amenities, but there are numerous others to choose from depending upon your interests. When we arrived from Redondo Beach, CA we didn't know any other residents, although we had met a few at orientation meetings. However, in just a few weeks we quickly met and made several new friends, frequently in the dining venues or on "outings" to events. The many resident friends and the staff are some of the most significant things we've come to appreciate since we moved here. We socialized regularly with friends and are starting to do so again with the relaxed COVID guidelines. In addition, the location (near San Juan Capistrano, CA), open hillside views, and the weather are superb. I'd encourage you to visit Reata Glen soon, as there's nothing like experiencing it in person. There are numerous details to be learned about the various types of CCRCs. For one, they are not a "retirement home/community" that you might have preconceived notions of or experience with. If you're not familiar specifically with CCRCs, it's essential to learn in detail about CCRC's unique characteristics and their financial aspects in order to make informed comparisons, as there are significant differences between levels of CCRCs and the CCRCs themselves. Reata Glen's marketing is the source for that information. Being informed of specific CCRC differences is key to comparing them. Moving here was one of our best decisions which we do not regret. I love Reata Glen and I am so grateful that I am living here. I am amazed at the friends that I have reconnected with from previous chapters of my life. The wide variety of residents are all sharp, fun-loving and active people. Reata Glen is full of laughter and fun and friends love to come and play. It is so much different than other communities I have visited. The dining rooms are lively and beautiful, the food is so good and presented in such a nice way. Thank goodness for the size of the community; there is so much to do. Bridge, Tennis, Pickle Ball, Line-Dancing , so many activities that keep you active. The more active we are the more active we stay. To me it feels like I live on a cruise ship. I also appreciate the close proximity of the care center which is located on the corner of campus making it very easy to visit your friends and loved ones. You can easily go a couple of times a day if you want. The staff of the center staff is exceptional as well. There is just no other place I would rather be living than at Reata Glen..

Reata Glen wasn't what we were expecting or wanted. We did visit their website before visiting didn't see anything there that clued us in. Their program probably isn't unique but I've never seen it before. They have everything from apartment style living to single family homes within their gated community. Instead of buying a home in their retirement community you do a buy-in and then pay a monthly fee for the services. You're buy-in is return of to you or your heirs when you exit on a sliding downward scale over time. Additionally everyone or couple pays a monthly fee of $7,200 a month. The buy-in ranges from .5 to 1.5 million depending on the living accommodation you select. The monthly fee is intended to be all inclusive as meals at their 3 restaurants, recreational activities and I believe healthcare are covered. Their program is designed to handle your living needs from the time you enter through end of life. Adjacent to the main complex was an assisted living facility which you could transfer to if needed later in life. Everyone we spoke with from the entrance attendant, initial greeter who I think was a manager and the counselor were exceptionally nice and helpful. It was obvious the likes working there and helping people. I think our counselor summed it up well when I said it was like purchasing a long term care policy, she said it was like purchasing a long term care policy that came complete with a cruise ship!

Our thoughts on Reata Glen. Probably the main reason we decided on a retirement community is the same reason the majority of our neighbors did we did not want our son to be a position of taking care of us. We explored the possibilities of developments close to our son and his family and found that Reata Glen would be not only a new community but that it was well located and in an evolving city. WE ENJOY LIVING AT REATA GLEN because there are enumerable activities to occupy our retirement years, because we no longer have to find a new gardener or a new housekeeper, because we are no longer concerned about upkeep of a house. We enjoy living at Reata Glen because we have met so many wonderful people with whom we have much in common. The young people in the dining room who seat us, take our meal order and deliver our meals. We've watched these young people learn and grow. And finally, because we have quickly established bonds with people with whom we have become close friends. We enjoy meals together, we socialize together, and we care for one another. We look forward to seeing them every day and they make our life here enjoyable.

Beautiful place!!
December 2020
We moved into our three bedroom villa in June, 2019 and it improved our life. We love our view of the distant hills. The variety of flowers throughout the campus is extraordinary. Other retirement communities have similar amenities such as tennis, pickle ball, bocce ball, ping pong, bridge, poker, library, swimming pool, exercise room, movie theater, ballroom concert hall, arts and crafts, woodworking, fitness classes, lectures, and entertainment. But Reata Glen excels in the quality of these venues and programs. Every holiday is celebrated with a fun event. Our meals are excellent. But for us the best is the quality of our outstanding residents. These are interesting, friendly, outgoing people who have helped to make our move a great, rewarding decision.
November 2020
I was happy in my home of 47 years. I wasn't even considering this type of retirement but started to think about aging and medical issues. I had heard about Reata Glen from my financial advisor, who explained the benefits of continuing care. On my first visit I fell in love. It has only gotten better and better. It is so new, modern, and beautiful it is a huge draw. The staff is incredible. I have made really good friends. I love all the activities, and there is such a variety. The long term care was also appealing. Although I hope not to use it for many years. The location is close to my kids. My home overlooks a beautiful courtyard and the hills. It's been a great decision. It has never disappointed.
November 2020
In the spring of 2019, my mom Jan moved into Reata Glen. By far, it's been one of the best decisions she's ever made! In the summer of 2021, following knee replacement surgery, my mom felt dizzy and fainted. She woke up seconds later and instructed me to "call the gate". I knew what this meant! It was serious and she didn't feel well! So I called the gate and within 30 seconds, Reata Glen's trained emergency personnel arrived inside her home to assess my mother's situation. They immediately called 911 and paramedics arrived within minutes. That day my mother suffered pulmonary embolisms from sneaky blood clots that caused 3 heart attacks -but she has since then fully recovered. After she was discharged from the fabulous Mission Hospital, my mom spent 10 days in the beautiful new skilled nursing facility, The Orchards at Reata Glen, where she received amazing PT & OT care before coming back home! I know 100% that living in Reata Glen saved my moms life. The Reata Glen & Orchards staff consists of personable, professional, kind, well trained & compassionate people who are a blessing to the entire RG neighborhood! My mother has a thriving and lively support system in RG that includes amazing neighbors, numerous friends and wonderful RG staff members. I am so thankful for this very special senior community! Recently I visited Reata Glenn. I was amazed at what I found. The community is beautifully appointed. I had a tour of all the areas including the dinning rooms, entertainment centers, pool and spa. One would never lack for something to do. I visited with some residents who were very pleased to have made Reata Glen their home. The are a number of choices of residences. I felt secure that any future health problems could be adequately handled. All the staff was helpful. I found the environment to be vibrant. Everyone seemed happy.
