I always love walking into Pasadena Highlands. The staff is consistently warm, welcoming, and truly makes me feel appreciated as a partner in patient care. As a hospice provider with Alleviate Care Hospice, I work closely with their team, and I genuinely value how effectively and proactively they communicate when caring for their residents. Kay, Adrienne, Marie, Sylvia, Cynthia, Jeanine, and Elizabeth are absolutely amazing. Their dedication, professionalism, and compassion make a real difference, not just for the residents, but for the families and partners who support them as well.

My mother (Mollie) was fiercely independent at 98 years old, but Mollie had taken a couple of falls, and it was time for assisted living. I thank God every day that we found Pasadena Highlands for Mollie as it was absolutely perfect in every respect. The social element gave Mollie new life as she put on her pearls and hat to "have lunch with the girls" every day. She had her favorite pancakes and coffee every morning and Highlands provided everything Mollie needed in every respect. We turned to Highlands for increased care as her health faded and ultimately to hospice for the end of her life at Highlands. Highlands became family to her and to us, and I do not have words to express the gratitude that we all have. The Caregivers and entire team are world class. My recognition and grateful thanks especially to Kay Cano, Marie Ann Brooks, Cynthia Leon, Maria Alarcon and Adrienne Hurd for their leadership in this exceptional community. Thank you to Marina and the entire front office staff and to Krystal and all the caregivers. Nothing can take away all the worry about an aging parent, but we had great peace in knowing that Highlands could handle anything that might arise. I do not know how we would have made it through without Pasadena Highlands. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

My mother resided at Pasadena Highlands for over 11 years until she passed recently. The nursing care has been wonderful, and the dedication by the nurses has been exceptional. They showed my mother love, gentleness, kindness, and the utmost respect. Although, Pasadena Highlands is a huge facility, all the nurses knew my mother's name and a lot about her. They knew my name as well and always, with such warmth, said hi to me and took the time to ask how I was doing. The evening my mother passed away, I followed the transporter with my mom out of the building, and when I returned to go back inside, 2 nurses were standing outside waiting for me, and when I entered the building again, a circle of more nurses surrounded me with the most compassionate, warm embraces. I can't even begin to express what that meant to me at that moment and throughout the grieving process, thinking of such amazing kindness, love, support, and compassion shown to me. I described it to the director of Pasadena Highlands, as the most beautiful, magical Christmas movie. The Pasadena Highlands nurses represent the best of the best in loving care!

Thank you so much for the great care you have given my Mom and Dad, My wife and I came to Visit this past week end , brought our children the food was wonderful in the main dinning area , staff was so kind . Kids enjoyed the Mini Golf. My parents are well cared for . The staff are wonderful , place is clean Lots of activities Dad is a Marine Corp Vet and enjoys the balcony veiw with Amercan flag and the courtyard area .Mom enjoys the Garden Club . I was indeed fortunate to have my husband accepted and embraced by the Pasadena Highlands assisted living community two years ago. He has a spacious apartment overlooking the beautiful grounds, perfect for him to self manage with his wheelchair. My husband was in assisted living for nine years prior to PH, and was surprised and delighted at how genuinely friendly his fellow residents are at PH. And the welcoming atmosphere of all the staff and caregivers. Quite a step up in quality of care. We feel so blessed to be part of this community. My husband especially enjoys utilizing the gym and meeting his special group of friends for dinner each night. We can’t say enough about the positives that PH has brought to our lives. I have true peace of mind knowing my husband is safe and well-taken care of. And I am grateful for this opportunity to share our positive experience with others.

She is a 80+ year resident of Pasadena which makes it even more wonderful. Cynthia is the person to contact at the residence. The day is much happier getting time for a meeting with Cynthia!

I want to take the time and say thank you to Pasadena Highlands Assisted Living, their compassion,care ,and heart towards their residents is amazing. It is hard to find to find the right place for your loved one, and this place actually goes above and beyond as an assisted living, and the way they take time to know their residents , and the communication with residents and families. I also want to give an extra five stars to Laura who works there , she knows her residents , keeps constant communication with the families, and is a big part of why this place functions the way it does. Her heart is is how all people in the elder care field should be. Thank you Pasadena Highlands you guys are amazing . I would love to add even a year later and with the positive changes in management highlands continue to shine as an assisted living. I can’t help but give Kae, Cynthia, and Alexis praises on their team work and compassion given to show love to the residents. Not only that continue the growth in the community, by providing amazing events, that the community can enjoy with the resident at Pasadena Highlands .

The staff is very attentive and kind. There is always something to do. One thing that I am very involved in is the Garden Club. We have two gardens, the Community Garden and the Memory Care Garden. We have raised beds in the Community Gardens. There are many native California plants and succulents, and different types of flowers ranging from Peruvian Lillies to Madagascar Periwinkles. We have Milkweed plants to attract Butterflies and we have bird feeders to attract different birds. The Audubon Society is guiding us to set up a couple of Bluebird houses so we can give them a place to raise their young. Our gardens are very much alive. The Memory Care Garden is for the residents of Memory Care. It is an area set aside for them so they can enjoy the plants and those capable to do a bit of gardening. The Gardens are cared for by residents who live in the Community. It is very rewarding and peaceful. If you do come to Pasadena Highlands please stop by the Community Garden. Hope to see you soon. After visiting frequently, here are some things I noticed: The staff: The staff are all very warm hearted. I have never had any issues with any of them despite how stressful I know it can be to work in the industry. They make it look easy. Always greeted with a smile. The building itself: Whoever is running the facility now is doing an amazing job with all the new renovations. You can tell there was a lot of thought put into the renovations because the new construction is resident focused. The new outside terrace is beautiful, and there were added activities to make sure the residents are never bored! The care: The staff cares. The constant meetings that take place to discuss the residents condition and the decisions that are made to make sure the resident is getting the proper care and is at the correct level is better than I have seen at most places! Activities: If you ever get a chance to meet Liz, you can tell how creative she is! From swing dancers, to jazz players, to tea time, to all the holiday events, to the Luau's, and even the Veterans Day ceremonies! There is so much though here. Great job activities team! All in all, Pasadena Highlands makes me want to live there! I know how hard this industry can be. I also know when staff actually cares. They make the difficult decisions that we cannot make ourselves. They have the difficult discussions with families because they know how important it is. 5/5

We are truly grateful to the administration and staff at Pasadena Highlands. Our Father was a resident on both their independent living and memory care floors. The guidance and support that we received from Sanda and Laura felt like that of family. Their sensitivity to our needs as advocates for our father and the time they spent guiding us was heartfelt. They supported us with their time, knowledge and consistent presence including taking calls and meetings after hours. Their genuine concern for our father was transparent. We experienced Laura to be a strong positive leader who gracefully and protectively takes care of her residents, their families and her staff. We were so impressed with her geriatric knowledge, professionalism and caring leadership. We are also thankful for the memory care staff specifically, Sylvia, Marguerite, and Maria who supported us as well. They were warm, helpful and positive. They went out of their way for us. They found kind and creative ways to make our dad feel safe, comfortable and at home. It was wonderful to see so many people operating with such love, using their gifts to bless others. We are now at peace that our father’s final days were surrounded by family, friends and all the lovely staff at Pasadena Highlands.

If you're looking for a place for your loved one Pasadena Highlands is definitely one of the better ones. My Mom was in assisted living and had to transition to memory care. Even though this journey is always hard, the PH staff were there to help guide us along the way and provided great care for her. Also during covid, they made sure all safety protocols were met and we felt Mom was as safe as possible during this time. The food is also good. They also make sure to have special events for all the holidays and there are many daily activities residents can get involved in if they want. I'd suggest recommending activities if there are things you'd like them to have that aren't offered. Check them out!

During this lock-down Covid time, as a resident at the Pasadena Highlands, my mother has enjoyed positive and healthy ongoing care. Recently she experienced severe/critical hip pain. She was immediately able to communicate her needs with the Highland’s care team. After a speedy evaluation, the team contacted me. They were able to transport her, with ambulance assistance to the local ER. After the hospital assessed her needs, she was able to return to the Highlands. She was welcomed home at 1am by a senior manager who personally assisted her back to her room and tucked her into bed. The consistent care my mother received was professional and compassionate. I was updated throughout this event through calls and texts. My family is grateful for the outstanding personnel, including the receptionist, drivers, caregivers, nurses and managers. The Highlands continues to be a safe, happy and supportive senior living facility. Thank you.

My mother-in-law has been suffering from Parkinson’s for over 10 years. Her condition has worsened in the last couple of years and needed more care. Due to the covid pandemic nursing homes were closed for months. When there was finally some loosening, Alex, helped place her in a beautiful one bedroom apartment with stunning views. He really made her feel comfortable, welcomed, and right at home. He did virtual tours, made home visits to drop off brochures, and their nurse, Laura, also stopped by for a medi and covid testing. Even after she moved in, Alex called us to let us know about her progress and adapting to her new home. I can’t say enough about how Alex, Laura, and the rest of the team at this place went above and beyond for our family. Thank you!

Alex Gonzalez expedited the admission into Memory Care in less than a week. Like living on a cruise ship, where you have as many social activities as you want and many options of great food. It's homey and well-kept with amazing views and beautiful landscaping. From the front desk receptionist, to the drivers, activities leaders and med techs, from the housekeepers, food servers, to the maintenance and beauty shop personnel, you will be surrounded by kind and caring people. This is a step-up retirement community where residents can live independently or utilize assisted living resources as needed. Medical resources are available; Laura LVN is accessible, knowledgeable, and heads an amazing team of caregivers. Sanda efficiently handles prescriptions, renewals, and medication disposition. The facilities could definitely use another elevator. The rent and assisted living fees are fairly reasonable considering what else is out there, and worth it for us. So yes, I'm glad my folks chose the Pasadena Highlands in which to enjoy retirement. It feels safe and helps to keep my worries at bay. I am grateful.

My 93 year old father has lived there since June 2014 and the staff have become his extended family! His 1 bedroom apartment is the perfect size for him and it has a sweeping view of the beautiful San Gabriel mountains. The food is yummy and they provide a variety of activities for the residents. I am always greeted with a big warm smile when I walk into the reception area making me feel welcomed. Everyone I have encountered there the past 3 years has been friendly, caring, compassionate and professional. They work hard to meet the many needs of the community and their families. I don't know what I'd do without them!
