The art pieces are absolutely creatively breathtaking. The live jazz was legendary, and I'll certainly be looking forward to more live jazz with those gentlemen as well as art showcasings at the center! From the free parking lot with accessible parking, well-kept landscape, very clean and inviting building inside including very clean restrooms. The hosts were incredibly kind, professional, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make everyone feel at home. They even supplied unlimited bags of delicious popcorn and chilled bottle water. Kudos to you all! Well done!!!

With love and my dearest concernment, this VIP piece of landmark in the history of our time of expressing equality transitioning from a deep dark state of depression which has caused a lack thereof of peer to peer positive effective communication, it has amazing available helpful resources right across the street from where and why this place, will always bring about incredible memories that I experienced as a child.

Mixed media class is terrific. The teacher, Caroline Ducout, is engaging and uplifting. The building, however, is run like government buildings were run in the 80s, only old. 2023 edit: (changed from 5 to 2 stars.) they've since changed the way they pay the teachers (they charge them a yearly fee), so this teacher could not go back after covid. It would've cost her too much $. Sad situation.

Victor at the front desk was superb. He showed care and provided me with as much helpful information as he could. They seem to be at bare minimum staff currently, due to covid. Victor reassured me that they were working on bringing back all the in house services, slowly.

Fond memories here....skating rink, grilling food, small family gatherings. Black history Parades and events, Kwaanza celibrations.....not too many places that celibrate being Black. Now it's different and unfortunately less African Americans/Black people. Tacos anyone?

J.R.C. is by far a much needed facility for the homeless. Very positive setting and follow up with the staff there. Bless those workers.

This is the old senior center. Now LAHSA IS utilizing the rear for shower and case management for those experiencing homelessness. The new center is across the street. Outreach workers like myself are here weekly to engage individuals with treatment and support
