This is what I got from my Aunt who has to live in this place. So many things wrong and pays top dollar to be here. The fire alarm is going off and I have no idea what to do. I've been out in the hallway, people are milling around. Like me, they don't know what to do either. I'm in the bathroom now because the alarm is painful, not so bad here. Like me, the others don't know what to do either, plus, like me, no one can hear well and we're all, huh? Huh? About midnight, I was talking to the med tech who was griping she and a male caregiver are the only two people here tonight covering this entire place. People keep quitting because they're always short staffed, are running all the time and get in trouble because they can't get things done fast enough. What's ironic, is after she said there's only the two of them, I said what if there's a fire! I said there's never been a drill and they haven't given out anything in writing either. She admitted she had no idea what to do either! She hasn't been here long. She said she's been looking for a job because she can't take it here. Last night, she got in trouble because one person died and she had to arrange to get my neighbor to the hospital because she was in so much pain. Other patients didn't get their meds in a timely manner, and the caregiver can't give out meds. Plus, he was plenty busy himself! I hope this stops soon and/or someone comes to tell me something or to get me. I'm having difficulty breathing but I think it's in my head. At, least I hope so. I have to rest my hand and arm. The toilet isn't very comfortable. I guess I should get into the wheelchair in case I have to leave. It won't be fast. Most of us can't use the stairs. I assume there's more than one elevator, but I'm not sure the one near me can hold 4 wheelchairs or walkers. Plus, you're not supposed to use an elevator during the a fire. I've almost been here a year and there's never been a drill. I asked the others I saw. They all said the same. This was at 4:18 AM

I just brought my own cleaning supplies including my vacuum to clean my Mom's one bedroom apartment since no one ever does. This is what she gets after a 15% increase in rent. The pile of dirt, dust, hair, debris was humongous and disgusting. I have a photo of the mound of filth I removed myself. The food is still often inedible, over cooked meat and under cooked vegetables.

Almond Heights Sr. Living has been a welcome blessing to my husband Greg and myself. We were welcomed warmly by all and that has continued throughout the last 9 mos. Greg is getting the care he needs mobilitywise and I am receiving help to care for him. Were there adjustments that needed to be made on both sides? Yes; we had to adjust to caregivers coming into the room, new circumstances, etc; the caregivers had to adjust to how we managed Greg's care. It worked. I've been able to get his food to go; that has helped both of us. I am able to go to any staff and ask questions and respectively get answers. I can be gone for some hrs. and know he is being checked on and his needs met. That was the big reason we came to Al. Heights. We have been able to watch our twin granddaughters some; we feel that is good to help Greg stay engaged in life. Is Al. Hts. perfect? Of course not; but they appear to be striving toward being better. I have agreed to be on the resident council to keep the residents involved in their living circumstances. Thank you Al. Hts. for inviting us into your community.

My mother has been in the memory care unit of Almond Heights for four years now. We moved her in right before the pandemic hit. I live out of state and am not able to visit nearly as often as I would like but I feel so much relief and gratitude knowing that she is very well taken care of and loved by her caregivers. I cannot begin to express how thankful I am that we found Almond Heights.

The staff here at Almond Heights are amazing! They truly care about giving their residents the best care and environment that there is to offer. They go above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. Activities on a daily. I definitely wouldn't hesitate to send any of my family members here. Such an awesome place.

My mom has been living at Almond Heights for 8 years. First in Independent Living and then I had to move her to Memory Care about 10 months ago. Patricia and the entire care staff have been so amazing. I know they truly care about the residents and the families. Each one has shown kindness and patience with us. This has been a long journey and they have been there for each step. They are our family too!

We loved our experience with Almond Heights. Our mom lived there for 2 years with wonderful care...even during covid times. The staff and therapy partners were so good and kind to her. The food was great. They keep everything so nice and clean. The holidays are always a big thing~ decorating is so beautiful and the tables so festive with the holiday napkins. We only wish she could have stayed there longer... she should have gone sooner... it would have helped her a lot, no worries about what to cook, no cleaning, and a safe area to get some exercise. Sandra at the front desk always helped Miss Hazel. We always found the administrators Brianna and Danielle helpful too.

Where do you put a family member who is getting older and can’t live alone? This happened to our family with our 93-year-old mother. We looked all over the area, near where we lived. After looking at Almond Heights Senior Living at 8685 Greenback Lane in Orangevale we decided to place my mom in their memory care unit. She was there for six months before passing and we could not have asked for a better facility, location, and staff. They assisted us above and beyond what we expected. They always had our mother’s best interest at heart. If you are looking for a facility our Family would recommend Almond Heights. Robert D. Bailey, on behalf of our whole family.

Almond Heights has been absolutely excellent in the care of our father for the last 3 years as he has dealt with different phases and declines in his health. The level of collaboration, understanding, and willingness to deal with various challenges has been exemplary. The staff is kind, supportive, and responsive and has been excellent in their communications through Covid Protocol and in addressing issues as they arise. Highly recommend AH to prospective residents and their families.

My father is in memory care unit run by Karen Huckabee whom is thoroughly efficient. Has the unit running effectively and is easy to communicate with. Keeps in contact with me about all matters I couldn’t ask for a better manager you can trust her! There is a caregiver named Marwa whom takes of my father 5 days a week he is always clean, shaven with room spotless and laundry done. My father loves Marwa and is totally comfortable with her taking care of his needs. She is kind, considerate and has the compassion and skills needed to take care of dementia patients I have been there done that is not an easy task. Marwa and the other staff including Karen Huckabee who is hands on keep him happy and well cared for. You will be able to sleep easily at night knowing your loved one is in good hands. They have good dining facility, day rooms and they are also spotless at all times. I would all in all say make this facility your choice without question. Meet and deal with Terri Aguiar the executive director after salesman gives you your tour and you make your decision to move in quite an easy woman to deal with and a nice person. Almond Heights has taken such thoughtful, loving care of my grandmother in the past several months since she has been staying there. Her main caretaker, Melissa, has become like family to our family. She takes such incredible care of my grandma, and we are very appreciative. She is professional, kind, caring, meticulous in the level of detailed she provides and truly provides care from the heart. My grandmother loves her! Although we live far away, we trust that she is in kind and caring hands thanks to Melissa and the other caretakers, and we always love to come visit and see how warm her home is there at Almond Heights. Thank you to the whole staff!

Well,there are always issues with which one has to deal. This virus is one, and some residents do not deal very well with it and the way things are handled. Your staff have responded extremely well and are doing the best they can and are should be commended for their work ethic and attitude. It is not easy for anyone, but you are doing a great job and should be thanked and recognized.

I've been working here for two years as of this month. I love that I get to learn something new from our residents everyday. I enjoy the food too, I eat lunch here every shift. Chef Eddy does a great job of mixing up the menu!

My grandmother just moved into Almond Heights, and she is so happy about the quality of the care from the wonderful staff, and the food! She is 97 and a foodie, which gives her so much joy! She is incredibly happy with the quality of the food, which can be very difficult to find in many assisted living situations. She has expressed immense appreciation for the dining options and the caring, compassionate, professional staff getting her what she needs, which makes our family so happy! Also, I recently contacted Jenny (a staff member) with a request to help me finish decorating my grandmothers room, and she was so lovely and helpful! Thank you, Almond Heights. It's tough to be so far away from loved ones, but it is heart-warming to know they are being well taken care of.

My parents have lived here for over a year. I'm super impressed with the neatness of the place, the quality of the staff, the design of the rooms and the amount of activities they have here to keep people busy. My only concern is the mediocre selection of food here. It's full of sugar, fat, and greasy meat. Once they incorporate more healthy plant-based, healthier options, I'll raise my review to 5 stars!

Horrible Experience Called for information. Was out on hold for 10 minutes. Then had to speak to someone who sounded like a child and couldn't answer my questions. When I stopped in, no one was available to show me around because they were all on their lunch breaks! No activities either. Patients were sitting around sleeping
