My client recently moved to Oakland Heights. His experience so far has been incredible. He is receiving such detailed and attentive care, the staff are so warm, and the facilities and grounds are very high-quality. My client is really enjoying the rich schedule of activities already. And I have noticed each time I visit that the residents do not sit alone in their rooms - they really make use of the many well-appointed living spaces to gather or simply relax. Shout-out to Community Relations Director Amber Harris who gave us a great tour when my client was feeling a little reticent about moving, explained everything so clearly and patiently, and went above and beyond to get the nuts and bolts done so my client could move in. Can I say, he is so happy and he loves it!

I recently contacted Pacifica Oakland Heights expressing interest in transferring my mother from a sister facility. My call was referred to Amber Harris, the sales director, who despite her title was anything but focused on sells and marketing. Instead, what I found was a kind, considerate, thorough, professional human being who instead of focusing on getting me to "sign on the dotted line" was more concerned with how the facility would meet my mother's needs. Before we even looked at the property, Amber spent over an hour reviewing Mom's care needs and even had the resident care director join us to evaluate the physician's plan I had brought with me. Joanne, the RCD, was also patient and professional and willing to go out of her way to visit Mom at her rehab facility in order to do a thorough assessment. If I had been able to find a unit that completely met our needs, I would have been happy to trust my mother's care to Pacifica Oakland Heights.

After the fire at Grand Lake Gardens Independent Living for Seniors facility, I needed a place to live that would be favorably comparable. I found Pacifica at Oakland Heights to be just absolutely beautiful with grounds and buildings that made me feel like I was walking in my own neighborhood. Since it’s gated, I felt safe and secure. The apartments themselves are cozy, but with adequate storage space and conveniently floor plans. There are balconies for each apartment, although some of them need a little help from Maintenance The staff I met were all pleasant and friendly. The Sales Director, Allison Rodman, was particularly helpful and gracious. I met a few residents who openly and warmly welcomed me. The activities that are offered are limited however, and that was the reason I chose not to go there, as I am still quite active and need more stimulating environment. Overall, I say, “Go there and take a look around. See if it’s a fit”

Ruth Ocon, the Executive Director, is wonderful! I have been providing Notary services to Pacifica's residents for more than 5 years. She and the staff at Reception always welcome me with a smile and recognition although i only stop by perhaps 2x/year. They are incredibly flexible, able, and willing to assist their residents and me when we need to adjust location or conditions of work due to the innumerable challenges their seniors face on a daily basis. The main floor of the facility with its library, visiting piano player and more add a special charm.

Finding the right place for a love one can be a challenging decision. I am so glad that we were able to meet with their Executive Director Ruth Ocon. She came to our facility to do an assessment of the patient who we were seeking placement for and she made it so simple and easy for not only the family but for the facility. I know our patient is going to a wonderful place with caring people.

My MIL was here for almost 4 years until she passed away last month and I must say, the staff here are absolutely wonderful!...Very caring, great communication, clean rooms and facility and just an overall good and healthy environment. I would recommend/encourage anyone who's looking for a safe and loving environment, to look no further than Pacifica Senior Living-Oakland Heights...You won't be disappointed!!

The food here has changed dramatically the residents love eating in the dining room, I've gotten lots of compliments on our water fountain in the garden. I was here visiting my Tia awhile back and I cant say enough good things about this place! I cant believe theres this charming hidden oasis in the middle of Oakland. All of the staff are excellent and the food is delicious. I definitely recommend this place if you want your family to be in a welcoming and homey environment.

While Ive only worked at Pacifica for a couple of months, I have found that the employees are so loving and attentive to the residents. Ive seen the way a lot of our staff acts around the residents and see how many, very much like myself, have fallen in love with the residents to the point where we treat them like family. Overall the ambiance of the place is welcoming and friendly.

Ive been working at Pacifica Senior Living for 3 years now, and i still wake up everyday excited to come to work! The residents are amazing and the staff are incredible. Especially during this difficult time the staff go above and beyond to make sure everyone is happy and taken care of. Our activities department does a wonderful job to make sure residents are not bored and go room to room with the activities cart with different games or things to do or they go around with snacks and drinks. Overall i love my job here. This is my passion, this is what i was meant to do!

UPDATE: with the scary uncertain times, the staff here has remained incredible and vigilant in caring for the residents. Safety measures are put into place and followed. This past spring, we had the pleasure of visiting Scottsdale Village Square at the request of our daughter Heidi Gabalski, SVS exercise physiologist. While there, my wife and I were asked to provide entertainment at an evening gathering, since we are both professional musicians. After a tour of the facility and, meeting with some of the residents, we went to the dining area where a large group of residents had gathered. We had such a joyous evening performing for and interacting with everyone that we promised to come back for a return engagement. 5.0 /5 Fred Harmon’s, the Memory Care Director for Pacifica Oakland Heights, has made a huge and positive impact on my aunt Linda’s experience as a resident. He sets a very high standard for care for his staff. Ive often seen him talk my aunt into doing something she needs to do such as showering etc. with humor or charm. Over the last 3 years as resident she always says how happy she is, how cared for she feels. Fred gets a great deal of credit for this and my aunts safety. Believe me, with growing population of Alzheimer’s there have been challenges Fred has always worked well with us to solve and work through anything that has come up in the most helpful ways. He has a deep awareness of how dementia affects residents, while maintaining a warmth and kindness with every resident I’ve observed him with. But he isn't the only one, my dear aunt wouldn't be so happy and content if each and every staff member who came in contact with her didn't do the same: from the activities directors who stimulate her brain, to the other nurses and caregivers who are unfailingly capable,patient, respectful and kind.
