After three years of eating meals and attending various social events as guests of my brother and sister-in-law (Lake Park residents), the opportunity came about which my husband and I didnt want to pass up. We wanted to become Lake Park residents. Within six weeks of that decision, we were a part of Lake Parks senior community. After moving in, our first impression was the warmth, friendliness and helpfulness of fellow residents. Lake Park also provided various opportunities to meet people. Besides events and outings planned by Lake Parks Director of Active Living Programs and Transportation, there are also resident-led activities based on residents own initiative-interest. For example, residents oversee the following: newcomers meeting, craft sessions, bingo-scrabble-bridge nights, choir, three weekly movie showings, Focus on Spirituality, and Computers 101. There is even a little shop that sells basic items to residents. This is staffed and stocked by residents. Besides the meals, social events, and residents friendliness, my husband and I were drawn to the idea of a full service retirement facility. Lake Park is the home to the independent living, assisted living and the skilled nursing residents. We are all under one roof. Continual care in one building was important to us. Several months after moving to Lake Park, my husband required hospitalization. Planning for my husbands discharge, the hospital social worker didnt need to find a bed in a skilled nursing facility. I had told the social worker my husband was returning to Lake Park with me! Having him back at Lake Park and under the same roof made my visits with him and communicating with the skilled nursing staff much easier. Lake Parks management team and staffs number one priority is the care, health and well being of all residents. During the pandemic, we are sheltering-in-place within our own units. Gatherings have been curtailed and measures are being done so that we remain healthy and well cared for. I am thankful to be residing and being a part of Lake Parks senior community.

Came here on a weekend morning and there were already a lot of people walking around. The lake itself is really beautiful especially when its sunny out as the buildings are reflected onto the lake. The water and some of the neighboring area is not very clean or safe I would say.

I have lived at Lake Park for almost five years. The residents are incredibly friendly and helpful; the apartments are spacious (perhaps twice to three times the size of the equivalent at other senior residences. There are many activities, lectures, movies, classes--one could be kept busy most of the day. Can't recommend Lake Park highly enough.

I have lived here 18 months and find Lake Park is the best choice I could have made. The staff is friendly and always responsive to any need I may have. The dining staff calls you by your name and are remarkable in their attentiveness. I have only a partial view of the lake but the lake itself is only two blocks away. And I have made friends here. Life is not so lonesome anymore.

A wonderful community to live in! The views are lovely as you can see in the picture I took from the rooftop rose garden. They have renovated their apartments and their dining room and library areas. I was very impressed when I visited. I also had lunch there with the sales person and she was very informative about the price and what was included. Thanks for the great lunch and tour!

I toured the facility last week in considering possibly there. I was born in Oakland 69 years ago, live in Martinez. I worked in Oakland before I retired. Location, maintenance, and the United Methodist connection were strong pulls. I was shocked however to learn the all the bath tubs are being removed from the building, and there is no hot tub or jacuzzi. A tub is essential for as I have suffered from Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) most of my life. I take medication three times a day for this and I still get overwhelmed at times from this condition. I have found over the years that soaking in Epson salts really helps my legs calm down. Now that neuropathy is increasing in my feet and legs that soaking in a tub has really become critical to my physical health and well-being. Wont Lake Park reconsider removing all their tubs from each apartment for the health and well-being of a least some of the (potential) tenants?

My grandma has lived her for 20+ years. Great location, nice facilities and good food in the dining hall. They keep the building updated and with fresh improvements regularly. Rooftop rose garden and event space in the basement. Grandma has been very happy here.
