I toured Atria Newport Plaza and the environment was very welcoming. During my tour I saw the residents doing a work out class in the morning that I know my parents would love. I encountered friendly residents that seem to be enjoying their residency at the Plaza. My parents are looking for a 2 bed room apartment. I have seen other 2 bed rooms at other communities and this one was by far the most spacious. It had 3 walk in closets and three bathrooms which is great for when their grandchildren visit. I am currently touring for the future as my parents are still working on relocating from Florida. When the times comes I will be returning to the plaza.

I’ve really enjoyed living at Atria Newport Plaza. One of my favorite things is the location being so close to the beach is honestly hard to beat. It’s nice being able to go for a walk, it’s literally a 5 minute walk. The community itself has been a great place to live. It’s quiet, clean, and always feels well taken care of. The staff has been friendly and super outgoing. I never see any trash in the hallways, the building is well taken care of. The residents that reside there are great to talk to as well, friendly neighbors. The pets that reside here are friendly and non aggressive which is a great thing not to worry about. The activities staff is very engaging with the residents and even allow the families to join in on whatever activity of the day. Overall I highly recommend.

This Location of ATRIA is fabulous. My Mom ( 85 ) has been living here for over 2 years and is thriving the best she can. She suffers from Mild Alzhiemers which Atria understands and accomidates her needs. Mom really appreciates the community and the Staff which keeps the residents very busy with Activities and outings outside the facility. When my mom needed additional care, management was very helpful with the options and explaining the levels of care. As her kids - we never have to worry about mom and if anything is out of the normal the staff contacts us immediately. One resident refers to her living at ATRIA as being on a "permanent vacation" everyday. No worries about what to do everyday and meals are served with a smile. THe staff really bonds with the residents as friends - which makes the tenants feel comfortable, safe and not forgotten. I recommend This Atria Facility 100%.

I cannot thank the team at Atria Newport Plaza enough. As older adults reach the point where independent living becomes difficult, the transition can feel overwhelming. After my mom experienced a mental health crisis, what she really needed on the path to stabilization was someone willing to take a chance on her”and that’s exactly what the staff at Atria Newport Plaza did. They provided her with excellent care and made her feel right at home. Between finding placements for both my mom and dad, I’ve toured numerous facilities. Two standout qualities make Atria Newport Plaza especially noteworthy: First, there’s a warm, welcoming, and homey atmosphere. The facility may be smaller than others, but that works to its advantage. You’ll always find residents and staff mingling in the common areas and activity rooms, which creates a lively environment”far from stuffy or sad. Second, the Plaza’s staff foster such a strong family-centered culture that the residents reflect that same spirit. Staff members greet residents by name, ask about their day, and genuinely engage with them. In my opinion, this makes residents feel seen, and they, in turn, extend the same kindness to one another, turning the facility into one big family. I owe special thanks to Annie, Nicole, and Karla, as well as the many other wonderful care staff I didn’t get to meet personally. Yes, it’s a business, and businesses need to make money, but the Plaza staff do a fantastic job balancing business responsibilities with genuine care. Atria was our choice after reviewing six or seven other facilities. Our first encounter was with their Director Joanna and her business associate Carla. Both were excellent at making us feel informed of the process since this was our first facility experience. Once we started meeting the rest of the staff, that was the real backbone of the operation and they really are the ones that made us feel the most comfortable. I’ll start with Erika and her group. She’s unbelievable a ball of energy and her staff is what really puts that group over the top. Marlene, I can’t say enough about, Jennifer just as well and Margarito I don’t know what they would do without him. When it came to setting up the room for my mom, Adam was like our own personal maintenance group and anything we needed. He was there immediately and solved all the issues with no delays and very professional. I met the head Chef Gabriel the first day and explain my moms diet to him, and he went out of his way to make sure that it happened for her, she has forgotten all about that diet and is now enjoying everything that they offer. This wouldn’t have been able to be done without his staff that are always there when you need them. I’ve also have to mention Teri she in charge of the medical group that supplies all the medication’s and they are diligent at making sure nothing is missed and all the meds are correct. Besides that she’s been invaluable at helping me to understand where my mom is with her condition at this stage of her life, (and she was a hot mess when we got there)which I don’t think any doctor has really leveled with us on that. All in all, I feel very fortunate that we landed on the doorstep at Atria looking forward to seeing how this all turns out in the future.

A year and a half ago I reviewed many facilities, looking for a place for my parents. From the beginning Atria Newport Plaza stood out. The director was very responsive by phone and I was even more impressed with her when I met her. She was kind and helpful, always trying to accommodate our requests. As time has passed, she and her staff have made us feel even more valued and appreciated. The facility is very well run. What impressed me most was how friendly and kind the staff members were. I’m happy to say that a year and a half later, everyone still greets us by name with a genuine smile. The residents also are friendly and welcoming. My parents were able to quickly make good friends and always have great company to enjoy a delicious meal if they want it. Caretakers take a genuine interest in the residents. I ask that they contact me if anything comes up with my parents. They happily oblige and call me when anything comes up. They are kind, patient, and helpful to my parents. There are physical and occupational therapy on-site. This has worked out very well for my mother, as she has made strides and really likes the therapists. My parents’ favorite thing about Atria Newport Plaza is the activities. All special occasions are celebrated during each month, live musical entertainment is scheduled regularly, and craft activities are planned to fit the season. My parents greatly enjoy making and displaying their many beautiful and useful crafts. The same activities director provides transportation too. We take advantage of rides to doctors’ appointments, which has been a lifesaver for me. The activities staff members are so gracious to my parents. The grounds are clean, well maintained, and cheery. The maintenance director is very responsive. Meals are some of the best among places I visited. They are served with a smile too. The chef quickly learned what my parents like for breakfast and has it waiting for them each morning. I know I’m failing to remember everything I’m thankful for at Atria Newport Plaza, but let me say that I’m very satisfied with this community. I feel my parents are safe, happy, and well cared for, which is all I could hope for.

I really like this place. My mother in law lives there. It is as swanky as some other assisted living communities, but that’s exactly what I like about it. I don’t want to feel like I’m walking into a ritzy hotel. I want it to feel like home. It’s warm, inviting, personal, and not so enormous that you have to walk a mile to get anywhere. We looked at several places like vivante, the other atria and oakmont. This place had the biggest 1 bedroom and it even had 2 bathrooms! Also, it was significantly cheaper. The staff was very kind and always knew who we were when we came to visit. The food was good and it was great that you could eat at any time. My only complaint is the location. I feel that all assisted living facilities are on undesirable locations. This one has no outside green space. Most of the others I saw didn’t either. I could live here when the time comes. It’s like a boutique facility vs the huge ones. Atria, you’re doing a great job. Keep it up!!

We moved her furniture from Florida and used a POD, which went into the employee’s parking area and the employees, especially Adam and Dina, helped make it happen and let us use their dolly. They have been a big help in making my mother-in-law comfortable and happy!!!

I've had the pleasure of meeting Dina Fegrino at various networking events in the past. Having talked and met with her several times, she always carried a very positive attitude and very passionate about her work and the performance of her staff at Atria Newport Plaza. So given the tour, they showed me their 18 bed memory care unit and their 100 bed assisted living facility- both under the same roof, separated by a secure door to allow staff and residents with accompaniment in and out. No need to worry about elopement. Im pretty impressed with the cleanliness with the place and how orderly everything is. Any resident that needs help with their ADLs has a caregiver in charge which respond in a very quick and timely manner- if they need to walk around or transfer and they need help- that is readily available. Their rooms are pretty cozy with generous amount of space to go around and have some of the residents own stuff in the room. They a theater room for up to 24 seats as you can see pictured. Movie nights are every 7pm and anyone can join in on the fun. The activities are posted all around the facility's hallway and being social is all part of their recreation and development. Visiting hours are between 8am and 8pm. If you want to join your loved one for a meal, they have a private dining all which looks like can fit up to 16 people. You can order from their menu or off the menu too for a fee. They also have a sizeable cafe for smaller groups and a library for smaller gatherings. Their salon is something to brag about too- it looks and feels like an actual salon too with showering stations and spa chairs to match. Overall, it's thanks to Dina's welcoming personality and positive attitude that makes me believe that this is a good home for your loved ones.

I stop by every few weeks to visit my grandmother and I’m always greeted nicely by the receptionist at the front desk. Alexa from the front desk is always super helpful with helping us get everything situated for my grandmother. Jackie the med tech is also very helpful and answers any questions we have regarding her medication. The care staff are always very helpful and willing to walk me to her apartment. I’m glad that she’s in a community that keeps her active and busy. We are overall pleased and very happy to have found this place for her.

Caring and Compassionate! My parents have been residents of Atria Newport Plaza for 3.5 years. My parents have have made great connections with their fellow residents as well as staff. This past month we needed to move my father to memory care after an extended hospital stay. Myra Aragones, Executive Director took it upon herself to insure a smooth transition. Atria Newport Plaza stepped up provided the additional care my father was needing. For that, I will be eternally grateful. Having resided here at Atria Newport Plaza for over three years....including through our Pandemic circumstances, I can only say that it has been a Godsend to ALL of us. Had it not been for our Executive Director Myra Aragones and her wonderful Staff our lives could have been very different. They put smiles on our faces every day and laughter into the atmosphere. They kept each day filled with activities and interest and when lockdowns were in effect, there was always someone to check on each and every one of us. The Front Desk and Offices were alive and efficient...the kitchen and Dining Staff always arriving with delicious menus, the medical department working overtime and Miss Diane in the Sales department always was willing to answer questions regarding new interested future residents. The machine never stopped and they accomplished it all with care and big hearts. My family appreciated the informational literature they were sent every week as it gave them connection when they could not see us. Housekeeping kept our rooms clean and the laundry done. All in all, the Plaza is a very special place to be. No matter where my life takes me in the future, I am happy to have been here now and for the last three years with such kind and wonderful individuals.....both Residents and Staff. This place has kept me well fed and with a nice roof over my head. Ive been here over a year now and I enjoy all the hardworking staff. I get plenty of help when I need it. Since our last post; our mother has passed. The care for her was very special; and she was loved and cared for. They provided guidance since hey have experience with people who are at their end of life. They were respectful and loving to us; the extend family. We are so happy she was there for the last two years. She was well cared for. We have my mom @Atria memory care for almost 2 years. We are extremely happy, as well as she is. My siblings looked at many options, but Atria fit our and mom's needs. The staff deserve a shout out, for the thoughtfulness and special care. In the throngs of COVID, we know absolutely that she is in a safe place. They have great protocols, so we know she is protected as much as possible. The memory care section, had caring and warm approach. The staff smile and I have never heard a negative word, yelling or disrespect towards my mom or us. They go the extra mile to have timely and communications, include text, emails and facetime. I would say that a visit to the location is worth the effort. My mom has her own private room & furniture and she acts happy. Its more than we expected, we are happy and believe we have her in the best place for her needs.

I moved my Mom in Atria Newport Plaza at the end of 2019. This was my first experience with Assisted Living and with taking over my Mom's affairs. We looked at a couple of different places and my Mom liked the feel of Atria the best. I have nothing but positive things to say about Atria, every person that I have come in contact with - Dianne, Sales Director, Deserie, Resident Services Director, Claudia, Director Memory Care, and Myra, Executive Director, and all the various med-techs and other aids have been nothing but kind, caring, professional and during this pandemic, SAFE. I think that Atria Newport Plaza is the only Assisted Living facility in Orange County that hasn't had a resident get Covid-19! Atria is run very professionally, but the care feels personal, it feels like the staff really knows and cares about your person. Due to some health issues I have needed to move my Mom to a different facility, but I made sure that she would be able to move back to Atria should that become possible again. If you need to move a friend or family member to a Senior Living facility, you should check out Atria and hopefully the stringent measures required to keep everyone healthy will loosen up and they can get back to their afternoon concerts and outings.
