I keep being impressed with the experience at Sunrise. We needed to move our dad in very suddenly and the staff from initial inquiries onward kept raising the bar and surpassing it. The staff genuinely care about their clients and go above and beyond. We were provided with contact information for hospice, and the hospice nurse and team coordinate with the Sunrise team, which is such a relief with all the other moving parts we’re currently juggling. Brandy helped us get started and was so communicative, patient, and prepared. We really had no idea what we were doing and this transition was very sudden, and Brandy made sure it was a soft landing. I’m so grateful for the organization, care, communication, integrity, and attention to detail which is so clearly part of every moment.

My mom was at Sunrise of Monterey for two years in the memory care neighborhood. The small group setting worked well for her. The food was very good, and the care was excellent All the staff are capable and a few are absolute gems. I have fond memories of enjoying the live music performances at Sunrise with Mom.

I recommend Sunrise Assisted Living of Monterey to those looking for a warm, professional, safe, friendly and family type atmosphere. It is not easy with the transition with loved ones, and the staff was very helpful.

Our mom has been here for over a year and I am continually impressed with the personal level of care she receives. I am in the service industry and I give this place 5-stars because of the friendly care. The staff her is not just going through the motions.... they are investing in providing warm, personal care. It is also a modern, beautiful facility with wonderful food. I highly recommend Sunrise to anyone who is looking for a warm and supportive environment as their parent transitions away from living alone. Thank you Sunrise staff for your personal investment in my mom!

My dear friend Dorothy died at Sunrise Senior Living in Monterey on Friday, March 2. She was 100 years old and moved into Sunrise at 99. She had all her marbles, as she would often say. I am writing to thank every staff member at Sunrise for their affection and care of Dorothy. I was there a lot with Dorothy. I was there when caregivers came and went from her room and brought her daily medications, when they took her to the dining room when they helped her with showering, and when they brought her beloved strawberry ice cream. I was there when she was failing and the nurse Maria did not leave her side in the dead of night and/or had other caregivers check on Dorothy every 30 minutes. Dorothy loved it at Sunrise and told me often. ""Everyone is so nice here", she would say to me. I wish I could name all of you but there are so many good, hard working employees: Pam, Maria, Roger, Jaime, Jessica, Shannon, Angel, Cathy, Desiree, Cynthia , "the drug lady", Austin. Robin, Tanya. I am forgetting so many. If you have a loved one and you are looking at care facilities - Sunrise is your home. Thank you Sunrise for taking such good care of my dear, dear friend. My father seems to be doing well here at Sunrise. He is still adjusting with the transition into the community. The community is nice and very clean. The staff has been helpful and kind to us, and is really making the transition easy and helps my father out with everything. There are activities my father has yet to partake in, but I did notice there are good ones. The food is good and he seems to enjoys it. I am still experiencing the community, and so far its good.

I had visited several Assisted Living facilities on the Peninsula and just could not imagine my Parents living there. Sunrise was the last place on my list and from the moment I stepped in I thought...........now this place is nice! Cheery, clean, upbeat people working there, nice music and plenty of events going on for those who want to join in. There was someone there to show me two available apartments. I loved how clean and brand new they felt. That very day I brought Mom and Paul over and they signed up. We have never looked back. You won't be sorry you've brought someone you care about to live there. Excellent, excellent, excellent!!!
