I love it here! The staff is great and so are the residents. Everyone is so friendly. It’s a beautiful environment. It’s in a great location, with all kinds of shops, pharmacies, good restaurants, city buses, all in short walking distance. It’s in a beautiful neighborhood that’s great for going on walks. The food is good and so are the activities.

Bay Towers is a high rise apartment building with full services for seniors. Overall it is a good place for those needing assistance and coping with aging. I could live there comfortably. My big problem, which is a deal killer for me, is the single elevator serving all the residents. It is slow, making the highly frustrating waiting for the elevator a regular event. Worse is it being out of service. That leaves the stairs as the only option. That single point failure is unacceptable.

He makes this place a wonderful place to live at this time in our life his patience with us and his sincere interest in everyone’s life is rewarding to know that someone that’s just working for a company puts that much effort into being good to the people who he works and we can’t thank him enough. I was treated with respect and joy and not pushy sales techniques! Salvador was calm and instantly comfortable as I rode up the elevator to hopefully find a "forever home" at this point in my life. I was afraid that I would experience carpeted hallways (as I had in other senior tours) that smelled like everyone's last night dinner! Instead, I was greeted with greyish/white vinyl floors that were bright and open and "smell-free"! The moment I walked into the studio apartment #909, I said "YES!" in the first moment as it was open and light and welcoming!

I truly enjoyed my tour with Salvadore. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and informative. He answered all of my questions along with introducing me to some of the residents. This made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. They shared their experiences at Bixby Knolls which was very positive.

I would give Bay Towers six stars if I could. My 93-year-old mother is happier than she’s been in years and we are thrilled. Here’s the thing: IT FEELS LIKE FAMILY. Mom has made so many friends - she tells me she feels deeply connected and safe. Bay Towers is lively and full of activity - live music, parties, outings, and exercise. Mary Lou (Nursing Director) takes wonderful care of residents, watching over them as if they were her own. Carmela is *amazing* as Activities Director: Her smiling face and enthusiasm are infectious. She keeps the seniors laughing, moving, dancing and creating every day. My mom’s apartment is beautiful “ light and airy. The daily caretakers are thoughtful and sweet. They help transport mom to appointments and watch over her daily needs with care and thoughtfulness. My mom even receives onsite physical therapy 1-2 x a week. She’s on the fourth floor in Assisted Living. The price is very reasonable for all that she receives. (The SNF Floors are under somewhat different management, I understand.) Yes, the elevators are slow and once or twice there were issues with the building HVAC system. But technicians arrived promptly and cooling was restored. My mom is thriving: she’s laughing, cheerful and bright. We visit several times a week and always find the residents happy and engaged. Thank you, Bay Towers.

Had a tour today to see apartment units. Very nice atmosphere and friendly and professional staff members. I've just started my apartment search to prepare for my retirement years and it is in a nice and convenient area of Long Beach. If you are interested, I would really recommend requesting a tour. Very helpful!

Love the area of this place. All staff members very pleasant and helpful. I don't drive so the fact that public transportation is right outside of door was a big plus. The fact that we can walk to various places also a plus. Have not quite settled in yet, however, so far so good. A lot of activity on a busy street, no problem.

I was nervous moving in to a senior community with my mom who is 84. But when I got here everyone was so warm and welcoming and so far it’s been a great experience. Salvador was amazing with the help he has given me and the staff is friendly and very helpful.

This place is welcoming and the residents appear happy and taken care of. My family is preparing to move grandma in. We took her to pick her room and she said it was nice and liked it especially the view from her room. She even enjoyed the time spent at Happy Hour listening to live music. So many residents came together and the musician sang a fun variety of music. Can’t wait to see her thrive and enjoy the community.

I brought an older friend for a tour of Bay Towers because of the good experience my mom had there until she passed at 92. Since that was 10 years ago, and before new ownership, I knew things might’ve changed or become dated. However, staff was as warm, kind and helpful as ever (especially Janet who gave us the tour), and it appears the management is updating various interior areas while maintaining the outdoor areas very nicely.

Our mom (91) is so happy at Bixby Knolls Towers! She has a beautiful apartment with a gorgeous view. She thinks the meals served at BKT are delicious! "I get fresh fruit every day!!" The residents are all very nice and the staff is rapid in their response to give assistance. What's best is that the facility is clean and well-maintained. Tons of joyful activities and a beautiful rose garden too. We could not be happier!!!

Our parents have lived in the Tower for 4 years, recently moving to the "B" building for assisted living. We have found the staff to be kind, caring and with little turnover - which is something very important to consider. The views from the upper floors of the Tower are amazing- unlike anything in most of L.A. , food is quite good- we even had our family Christmas dinner in the dining room- which was delicious and enjoyable. The tower is in the midst of renovations and it will be quite nice when complete. Location is excellent, you can walk around gardens on the premises or in the Bixby Knolls neighborhood.

BKT is a great place. Some folks complain about everything. It is clean, has good, quality food, fun entertainment and plenty of social events. I believe the price is fair. My Mom has lived there 7 years and she is very happy - couldn't be in a safer place and it gives me great peace of mind. If she wants to dine out when I visit, there is a great variety of charming restaurants on Atlantic Avenue. The neighborhood is great too.

My two daughters and I selected Bixby Towers for my senior living facility for several reasons, among them the location, the monthly rental plan, six different floor plans for units; 21 meals a week, housekeeping and transportation services and the activities and entertainment offered. I have lived at Bixby for 14 months and have been very satisfied with the experience. Bixby was built in 1962 and has issues that come with a facility of that age. The maintenance staff responds to incidents quickly and efficiently. There are management employees on the premises seven days a week and staff employees are well trained and helpful. Replacement of the elevators has caused inconveniences to residents and staff alike, but management has made every effort to alleviate the waits. Everyone will be very glad when there are two functioning new elevators. Overall my three children and I are pleased that I chose Bixby and with my experiences here.

Bixby Knolls does a solid job of providing housing, meals, daily activities, and safety to residence. They work hard to select good employees who constantly care for the residents. The administration goes the extra mile to address concerns. Anyone who lives in an aging building must adjust expectations on the reality of a building. If someone wants all the bells and whistles of a new building, they can call around. However, you will not like the price and may not like the staff. We have a dear loved one in the building who has been a resident for many years. She has received care beyond our expectations. We will continue to be grateful to Jeannie and her wonderful staff.

As a resident of nearly 5 years. I was surprised that someone has been here 2 year was so vehement and critical. As with any building repairs are needed and we are fortunate that's this can be accomplished while we live here. Yes so inconvenience but rather that then have to sebe uprooted and moved while it happens. At lease it is being upgraded and repaired. Some landlords patch and make due. We are getting new elevator and other fixtures as needed. I can handle a little inconvenience it's my home and I am here to stay.
