A view from the inside... I wrote a previous review when a friend of mine moved to Crestavilla in 2025 from another Assisted Living facility. Since then, and through a series of circumstances, I have had the pleasure of living at Crestavilla as a fulltime resident for the past two months. In my first review I extolled the wonderful experience that my friend was living and how different it was from the pervious facility he had been. However, living here and being with the other residents and staff 24/7 has impressed me even more. I could mention the wonderful food, the countless amenities and activities, and the spectacular appearance of this place, but all that falls short when compared to the people...residents and staff alike. After looking at Assisted Living facilities for the past 3 years (maybe even longer) I know what to expect. So, here is what I have learned: for me, what it comes down to is Care vs. Caring. CARE is a service you purchase at all of these facilities. You are contracting with someone to provide CARE to your loved one. The terms of the CARE are spelled out in a contract and those are the terms that must be provided. Pretty much all of the facilities will live up to their agreement and so CARE is not a question. CARING on the other hand is something different. CARE can be provided without CARING and that does not violate any agreement. But when CARE is provided by CARING people, then you have something special...and believe me something uncommon. That is exactly what you have here at Crestavilla. From the valet when you drive in, to the receptionist, to the servers at the restaurants, to the housekeeping staff...everyone delivers with kindness and compassion. No short-tempers, no judgements, no rebukes...just patience and understanding. I am constantly amazed at how CARING all of these people are - above and beyond what the job calls for. Having witnessed this place from the outside and from the inside...I can guarantee you that this place is special among senior living facilities. Please trust me when I tell you that this is where you want your loved ones to be...in a beautiful place, surrounded by CARING people.

I currently have a long-time friend who is a resident of Crestavilla. This after being a resident at another different facility close by. The first facility, while considered one of the best, was nothing like Crestavilla. Starting with the appearance, it was very nicely appointed - even elegant one might say. But it was institutional...no getting away from that in appearance. Crestavilla, on the other hand, looks like a high-end, resort spa...what a refreshing change. But what was worse, at the first facility we were not heard when we asked for simple accommodations for our friend. Simple things that would help our friend blossom and embrace his new surroundings. Something so vital and crucial at that point in life...but we were left without regard or any action. Crestavilla has been so very, very different from the start. The entire staff is very attentive to the needs of every resident, and they respond with action to support their intentions...not just empty words. Our friend is experiencing an amazing turn around from the person he was before. I cannot say enough good and kind words about Crestavilla. The facility, the staff and the other residents make this place truly special among care facilities. Believe me...I have seen the alternatives.

It is extremely important to clearly invest the time and energy to know exactly how good an independent living place is so you can spend the rest of your life optimally. I did visit 15 independent living retirement facilities in the Laguna Neil Senior Center and in my opinion Crestavilla is the best for all of the reasons and mainly the Socialization, friendliness, and kindness in the residence and staff. Crestavilla in Laguna Niguel was a Godsend for my Aunt and Uncle who needed to be in the facilities Memory care unit. The care and attention they received from staff was exceptional and I was at peace knowing my family was safe and being well cared for. My sister-in-laws mother has a place here…it was a hard transition to move out of her house. When I went to visit her she was enjoying all the activities and her new friends. My sister was very stressed about moving her mom out of her home to a strange place- Krista and the staff at Crestavilla has been a Godsend. They created rainbows within the storm. Thank you. Crestavilla is fabulous! We moved my Mom into memory care from another facility down the road and the experience has been night and day! As soon as Mom wakes up (on her own time ), she is assisted in her morning care routine and helped with getting ready for the start of her day. Then, she is able to join the rest of the residents, doing activities outside of her room for the entire day with hands on and cheerful interaction with the Crestavilla staff. On our visits, we are always greeted and welcomed with friendly faces. We get professional guidance and emotional support regarding Mom’s condition and health plan. The facility is always very clean, Mom’s room is always kept clean, the grounds and decorating are always top notch, and the food is fresh, healthy, and delicious! We love Crestavilla, and most of all, we love how our mom has been responding and thriving at Crestavilla!

I was there to visit my sister-in-law. Such professionalism and kindness provided here for every resident. Dee has food allergies and the care provided by the kitchen is far above anything I have experienced anywhere! And the Valet.... he is very tall, am sure he has to adjust my seat ro drive my car ....but, he always makes sure the drivers seat is adjusted back for me! Profound!! Bravo!!!!

My Mom spent her last couple of years there and was very well cared for and happy there. It’s a tough transition into assisted living and they made it easy. family member moved here and they went the extra mile. easy moving process and lots of activities... but not too many. everyone here is very warm hearted. reasonable priced meals to join a family member if you want. if they miss a meal there's a bistro to do grab and go. 2x a week happy hours on the roof top lounge. love the art classes and so many options for group exercise every day! my relative said that the pool feels perfect. prices are supposed to go up January 1, 2026, so if you're considering it the time is now. toured vivante too and this place doesn't have a salad bar, but they have salad on the menu and there is no charge for parking. Worked with Geoff and highly recommend him!

Crestavilla is by far the best place in orange county for memory care. It is a beautiful facility with good excellent amenities and food. My mother had lived here for her last years and the entire staff was excellent. Norma Martinez, who heads memory care, has been responsive, responsible, friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. My husband and I are both retired physicians, and I am writing this review in hopes of helping others to get the same outstanding care that we have received from Crestavilla memory care unit. I was no longer able to take care of my husband who has Alzheimer’s disease with inability to perform many basic functions. I was reluctant to contact facilities because of the many problems that so many of them have. I feel so fortunate to have found Crestavilla. Our experience there has been so comforting, compassionate, and helpful. Norma, the Director of the unit, is involved at a personal level with all residents and employees. She made the admissions process simple, found moving help, ordered necessary supplies, etc. She is always available with her door open to solve problems, answer questions, and provide support. She is an extremely competent Director. All of the staff are compassionate and competent. They are skilled, hard-working, and their care is from the heart The activities Director is lively, creative and involved. There are activities, entertainment, exercise class, and yoga available throughout the days as well as outings each week. The food is excellent with personal attention to each resident’s special-needs. The atmosphere is positive and supportive like a large family. Guests and family are welcome and there are so many amenities at Crestavilla like restaurants with gourmet food, a movie theater, Pool, a game room, a cafe, a Monarch butterfly hatchery, a putting green, and other things that make it fun for family to visit. Medical care is readily available, which allows problems to be caught early and treated. For example, my husband had a pneumonia, and urinary tract infection, which were treated right away. The unit is very careful about preventing bedsores and pressure point problems. Crestsvilla administrative staff provided a delightful welcoming party and we used them to host a very successful birthday party for my husband‘s 94th birthday with gourmet food, balloons, etc. I am very grateful for all that Crestavilla has done for us and I hope that this review will help guide you to the care you need.

Both of my grandparents stayed at Crestavilla the past 2 years and I can't speak highly enough about this community!! Our family is so grateful they were able to be at such a wonderful facility in their final years. The staff, ambiance, dining, decor, location is all top notch. I want to specifically mention the manager Gundula. She went above and beyond in every way possible and made our experience that much more special. My sisters, parents and I researched so many different Memory Care facilities all over Orange County. My parents were resistant to move out of their home and were very particular because they didn't want to move to a place that looked like a hospital or institution. Every place they toured, they said it wasn't for them. When they toured Crestavilla, my parents finally felt happy with the setting. My father called Crestavilla "The Club" because it is like a resort. It is beautiful! My mother and father moved in January 2020. My father passed away a year later and my mother is still a resident to this day in 2023. We are so pleased with the care she is receiving.The staff is so friendly, the meals are wonderful, and the activities and excursions are entertaining. Norma, the new director of Memory Care is very knowledgeable and has increased the quality of care the residents receive. One of the main reasons we chose Crestavilla and why it appealed to my parents is its "non-clinical" setting. This is not a skilled nursing facility (SNF), though they provide excellent care for my mother who is now in hospice as her dementia has progressed. When we have taken her out to our homes for family parties or special occasions, she is eager to return to her "home". That is testimony that she is happy and feels safe where she is at!

I can’t say enough amazing things about Crestavilla, from the ambiance, the food, and the activities, but the best part about Crestavilla is the amazing staff. I always feel welcome when I arrive by the valet then the front desk staff, the food staff, medication team, maintenance team, and the director go above and beyond to make sure my dad is well taken care of. I will always be grateful to Crestavilla for bringing life back into my father. After just a few months at Crestavilla my dad started living again and enjoying life. Thank you crestavilla. My sisters and I are so happy with our choice to place our parents in Crestavilla. Both of them have dementia (Mom has FTD and dad, Alzheimer’s). Since they were not able to stay home anymore we spent a lot of time researching senior living facilities in the OC area. Since the first day in January 2020, we believe they are in the best hands possible. Crestavilla’s staff is amazing. Gundula is a Godsend and is available 24/7. Their in-house doctor visits them every Friday. The care staff is compassionate and patient. The food and beverages are top notch. The architecture and interior design of the buildings makes us proud to show where are parents are now living. Of course COVID hit in mid-March and the facility had to pivot to keep all residents safe. They have been wonderful making concessions and organizing FaceTime calls and window visits. Although we are saddened that our parents can’t leave the facility on excursions like before, they have really made it extra special for them by hosting educational happy hours and exotic meals as if they were traveling all the sandy beaches on earth. We look forward to the day we can return to a new normal, but we feel secure in knowing our parents are being loved and cared for.

If you have a family member who needs a home away from home then Crestavilla is the place to be.My parents have been there for nine months and every staff member treats them like they are their parents. The atmosphere is cheerful and the happy hours are second to none. Francis is very creative in organizing special events for the residents. The attendance is fantastic and the audience walks away with a feeling of happiness. The nursing staff and caregivers make me comfortable knowing that my parents are in good hands ..Brian Keys the Executive Director and Deborah Suarez ,Assistant Director,I call them the dynamic duo, run a great ship and are always willing to listen to suggestions from the residents ,staff ,and family members. You never have to worry about your loved ones going hungry.They have a diverse menu and the food is flavorful and well prepared . Last but not least,when you walk into the building the front desk staff is the best in the business making you feel welcome and trying to assist you in whatever way they can. Crestavilla is 5 starts through and through!! I have witnessed firsthand the many ways they create an atmosphere of beauty and tranquility—without even knowing you are in a senior living community. As a guest at many events over the past several months at Crestavilla, I see that the residents are actively engaged and having fun. It is a pleasure to bring my clients to this signature community, where I know they will have a better quality of life and treated with such kindness, dignity, and respect. The staff is uncommonly warm and welcoming, always smiling and accommodating for their treasured residents. It is obvious to me they love their position in this community and work tirelessly to make their people feel at home. It would impossible to be grumpy and live in an environment like this! I would recommend Crestavilla to my parents, my friends, or anyone needing some assistance with their activities of daily living. They won't regret it!
