We recently toured the The Meridian at Laguna Hills and were very impressed. The community is beautiful, welcoming, and has a warm, friendly atmosphere. The staff we met were kind and professional, and we could easily picture residents feeling comfortable and at home there. We especially enjoyed seeing the wide variety of activities offered on the calendar. There seemed to be something for everyone, making it easy to stay active, social, and engaged. The dining menu looked delicious and offered appealing meal choices. We also toured both the studio and one-bedroom apartments and found them to be very spacious and thoughtfully designed. The layouts felt comfortable and provided plenty of room for personal belongings and everyday living. Overall, we found The Meridian to be a classy, inviting community with a positive atmosphere and many amenities that would help residents enjoy a fulfilling lifestyle.

She answered all our questions and even invited us to experience the quiet and comfortable restaurant. My husband felt very reassured that he wouldn't have to care for me after his surgery, and he immediately paid the deposit without hesitation. Meridian at Laguna hills is a very dark poorly configured residence from a converted hotel. With minimal inviting shared spaces, residence resort to gathering at the lobby in search for interaction. Further, the fee structure is full of extra charges that are completely unreasonable (laundry fees, food tray delivery and pick up fees if you are sick).

My first experience with the Meridian was with Regina, the leasing manager. I was abroad looking for a place for my father and Regina bent over backwards to assist me. She always asked how she could help and had a caring, friendly personality. I also interacted a lot with Cheryle, the office manager. Cheryle was also super helpful and caring all the time. My mom has lived there for 7 years now. She was really happy at first but it has really gone downhill since. New owners bought the complex right before COVID and rates have gone up the maximum allowed each year and service has gone way down. A constant rotation/loss of staff. Latest director seemed to want to activate for the residents but then he was suddenly gone with no notice or explanation. Currently they don't have a driver for the bus so the residents who don't or can't drive can't go anywhere. And they just announced a policy to limit the number of trips, if/when they get a driver, to 4 per day. Not near enough for the size of the facility. Food had also gone way down in quality.

My mom moved to Villa Valencia in June 2019. The first thing she said was she should have moved here earlier. We looked at several places, but Villa Valencia was the top choice by far. I certainly couldn't praise enough the quality of the entire staff, which is so important. There was genuine care and concern for the residents, real sincerity. Plus, it was the first time in a few years my mom actually gained needed weight. The menus for each meal have terrific choices, and are wonderfully prepared. And the residential units are extremely well designed, with care and consideration for what an independent person or one needing assistance needs to be fully comfortable. There are also lots of social activities one can participate in. A well-run and extremely well-equipped place that goes the extra mile to provide the comfort and care residents need. Villa Valencia is truly a special place, and it shows not only in my mom's attitude, but all those I've met and come to know during my visits.

The recommendations of others is key in determining whether or not a facility can be trusted to provide the support and care that you or your loved one needs. Since needs vary by individual not all recommendations will have importance, therefore you need to rely less on a specific review and more on the overarching message that the reviews convey. When it comes to Villa Valencia and its reviews take note of a very important message that can be seen in most all of the reviews.... they don't just meet expectations they exceed expectations. Not an easy task for one of the premier assisted living facilities in the country. They set high expectations and yet continually exceed them. From clear upfront pricing without sales pressure, to ease of doing the necessary paperwork they make you feel welcome and valued. No surprises! The facility staff from administration to medical and support personnel at all levels are there for you and your loved one. This is truly a team of professionals at all levels striving together to make your experience exceed your expectations and they do. They care and it shows! we could name a lot of names and yet there would be many more whose names we do not know, from the great staff at the front desk, to the back office, from housekeeping to the dining room, from the medical technicians and nurses to the resident assistants, they all contribute to the Villa Valencia experience. Even with the construction that they are undergoing which will make this facility even more beautiful, their passion for their jobs and genuine concern for their residents shines through. The Villa Valencia team is family and when you become a resident you become a part of that family. We feel fortunate to have become a part of that family during this past month.

My family and I just love going to see my mom at The Villa. Especially for holidays ie. Mother's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, X-mas. What a joy it is to see not only my mom but all of the residents so happy and proud to live somewhere they truly celebrate these family gathering moments. The care givers, the restaurant staff, every one of the employees are genuine and warm even during the busiest of times. Cara is just fantastic to work with in difficult times. She knows when to lighten the mood and understands how to comfort. The care givers encourage without pushing and help when needed. I hope to see the finished remodeling project which has gone on Too Long but will hopefully be worth it. The new restaurant concept should showcase Juan and Paula's talents well. Mom and her friends are looking forward to fancy 7th floor opening. We feel incredibly blessed to have mom at The Villa.

Family friend moved into Villa Valencia not too long ago. When going to see her new home we felt welcomed. Staff were all polite, professional and courteous. During lunch we were impressed by the servers and the managers who asked how everything was (just like an upscale restaurant). My Mom moved into VV in September 2017 after several falls and finally a broken hip. She had lived with us for three years and so she was sad about having to move. However, I can't say enough good things about our experience thus far with VV. From the first visits with Lauren, to meeting Cara, who is the head nurse and overseas all the caregivers, to each person that has been in contact with my Mom, everyone has been wonderful. Cara has been especially helpful, very fair in how she evaluated and determined by Mom's level of care, funny and kind to my Mom and they have formed a special relationship. But the real heroes in my mind are for sure the care-givers who have helped my Mom so much. A few have left (Amber and Lucy), but her main care-giver has been Grace and she is fabulous!! She is always smiling, always helpful, never makes her wait for a long time and so responsive. My Mom just adores her and they have become very close. There are many other care-givers that have been so attentive, Tiffany, Norma, Diane and a few who my Mom has said have been great, but I don't know all their names. The restaurant staff is so kind and they now call our Mom by name!. The front lobby staff is always smiling and helpful and really watch to make sure no one is coming or going that should not be. We have had a few maintenance issues and they were handled immediately! My Mom adjusted fairly quickly and started getting stronger and stronger each day. She is truthfully stronger now than she was before she broker her hip! In December our family suffered a huge loss in the sudden death of my brother and our Mom was devastated. This is where the staff, starting with Cara and on down, all rallied around my Mom. They sat with her, cried with her, made sure she ate her meals and eventually helped her laugh again. For that we will be eternally grateful and God Bless you all for that! I never would have thought that my Mom would be someone who would adjust being away from our home and even though we visit many times a week, it is so nice to know she is well taken care of. Everyone at VV deserves a heartfelt thank you for the work they do. It is not an easy job. Thank you from the family of Marge Sherry.

My 95 year old mother fell just before Christmas and was in very bad shape. After a brief time in hospital, she was transferred to Villa Valencia skilled nursing where she’s been living for the past two months. Initially she was in shock, very weak, and refusing to eat. She looked extremely frail. We weren’t sure she was going to pull through. However, the care and attention she started receiving made all the difference. VV skilled nursing professionals understood the gravity of her medical situation and treated her with TLC. I’m happy to say that within the first month mom began to gain strength and interest in food. In fact, she raved (still does) about the soups and the fresh meals she was receiving. She also raved about the helpful VV staff. In her second month I have seen a wonderful transformation. Mom is thriving and healthy, happily participating in social activities and engaged in daily conversations with other residents. She’s gone from a solitary, housebound existence (with diminishing interest in self-care), to an active Villa Valencia community who care about her. Our point of contact is social worker Karen who happens to have an office next to mom’s room. Karen is a very kind person - she helps us figure out logistics and patiently answers questions about mom’s progress. But she’s also attentive and professional. If she hears mom trying to transfer out of bed without assistance, Karen goes the extra mile to lend mom the proper help. This isn’t normally Karen’s role, but she stops what she’s doing and jumps in when the need arises. I am very thankful for her! I cannot say enough good things about the occupational therapist and the physical therapy that mom receives. I’ve watched how compassionate the therapists are with her, as they work with her limited memory while patiently walking through safety steps. I have only gratitude for the wonderful staff at VV who surround mom. It has taken an entire village to get her back up and running (well not quite running, but she’s pedaling the recumbent bike!) and it’s been nothing short of miraculous.

Lauren Davidson, Director of Sales greeted me with her million dollar smile and I knew immediately I had come to a nice possibility even for my mom's very discerning tastes! In her unhurried style, and obvious wisdom in knowing what my Mom may require, she showed me around and kept referring to my mom as though she had known her for years! It was truly a very calming experience and I left with the feeling that I had perhaps found, subject to her approval, the place for mom to live out her remaining days in comfort and social opportunities! My parents had been married for 65 years. Two and half years ago my Mom passed away leaving my Dad to deal with his sadness and his loneliness, learning how to cook, clean, do his laundry and in general learn how to care for himself as my Mom was the one who took care of him for 65 years!! My family and I were very concerned about him regarding him eating properly, getting out to be social, his home etc. We also had a lot of " stuff" to get rid of... and thats what brought us to Villa Valencia! I got an invitation to come and listen to one of their "speakers" on " how to downsize" ... I did not nor would have I ever imagined my Dad living at " one of those places"!! I went purely for the speaker ( as my Dad had a lot of stuff!!) and we needed to downsize. To save a lot of your reading time I will quickly update you on my 91 yr old Dad.. He has lived at Villa Valencia for almost a year now. I can not begin to tell you how happy he is and how happy my siblings and I are at having him there. This place has literally given my Dad a new reason to live! There are days when he does not have time to talk to me because he is to busy with his new friends and activities. He has a nice little apartment and its always clean because they offer to clean it! They will even do his laundry if he needs that done. The food is fantastic. We actually went this past Easter for brunch and had their champagne brunch! And if your a dessert lover then you will love this place!! ( best bread pudding in town!!) Seriously!! The staff there is wonderful. They know all the names of the people who live there.. its amazing how they remember everyones name! They are very caring people who work there. Most importantly my Dad is happy! Thank you Villa Vallencia for being there for my Dad... providing him great food, great new friendships, fun activities, cleanliness, and people who care about him! I could go on and on about the support we got as a family too from the staff there!! They were all so helpful! Its not easy moving a parent but the staff there made it easy!! If we could give more stars we would. Right now Villa Valencia is under remodel, and it must be very stressful for the staff to keep all the parts moving, but we have seen nothing other than happy & smiley faces and have experienced nothing but excellent service whether it is from waiting staff in the dining room, housekeeping, or receptionists in the lobby. We are pretty picky as a family and it takes a lot to impress us. Villa Valencia impresses throughout. We can't wait until the remodel is finished as it can only get better. It was a very hard decision for our family to agree to placing our mother in assisted living. The difficulty was mostly out of selfishness because we love her and wanted to care for her in our home. She was, however, depressed at home and visibly shrinking away from a lack of social contact with her peer age. Within a month of being in Villa Valencia she blossomed and now 8 months later it is no exaggeration to say it feels like Lazarus rising from the dead. Our mom is thriving. She has made lots of friends both among the residents and staff. She loves the food (despite certain food allergies) and she is fitter and healthier than before. Someone once said it takes a village to raise a child. Well, I think it takes a great team to make seniors feel valued and relevant, and that is certainly how our mom now feels. Our only regret is not making the decision sooner.

I was extremely impressed with the staff and care that was given to my mother-in-law during her recent stay. She received physical therapy that really did help. Not just walking but they actually helped her with stair climbing and learning to use her walker. I feel like she really got something out of her stay not just a place to put her until the insurance got tired of paying. The activities she was able to participate in were wonderful (she especially loved the manicures and art classes). The dining room was well staffed and she enjoyed the company. At the same time she was able to eat in her room without any trouble. Karen (social worker) was very helpful providing all sorts of contacts and helpful information. I am so thankful we found this facility and if needed we will be back. Thank you to all the staff that helped.

We were recently referred to Villa Valencia for our aging mother. For years now, my brother and I have driven by this location. It is rare that my older brother and I can schedule to meet up as our work schedules are hectic and do not permit. Extremely last minute, we decided to meet at this property in hopes to at minimum get a brochure and set an appointment. It was a pleasant surprise to be greeted by the Sales Director, Lauren. Lauren was extremely welcoming and took the time to walk us through some options for our mother. After our conversation, we left reassured that there are positive options for our mother. Mom is not quite ready for assisted living yet but it is in the near future. We left feeling welcomed and confident that Villa Valencia is a possibility. Thanks Lauren!!!!

My mom moved in to the facility in October and the experience has been awesome. She loves her room and the food is great. She is starting to meet friends and the staff is friendly and very helpful. Wanted to move her to a facility closer to me in Long Beach but she did not like any of them. Although Villa is 30 miles from my house, I am very happy about our decision and mom seems very happy with a tough transition from being on her own to an assisted living environment. Would highly recommend to friends with parents having similar needs.

My family and I moved mom into Villa Valencia a couple of months ago after months of searching for an assisted living facility. After touring a number of facilities that didn't feel as if mom would ever be able to be "at home," we toured Villa Valencia. We were immediately struck by how nice and accommodating the staff seemed and how vibrant the residents seemed. The decision seemed like an easy one and I'm happy to say that the transition has gone very well. Mom feels as if she lives in a place where people legitimately care about her. Her overall health has improved markedly, and she goes out of her way to comment on how much she loves the food. It's a beautiful place as it is today, but she's also very excited about the renovations that they're currently making to the facilities. Can't thank the staff enough for making a very difficult time much easier for our family!
