Our Mother lived independently for 95 years until she required memory care. Mom LOVES ActivCare Laguna Hills. The exterior architecture and interior design are warm and welcoming. Update 10/20/2025: My cousin Bertha is a happy and thriving resident at ActivCare Laguna Hills because of the staff. I know this because of the multiple calls I receive in a day from Bertha and some of first words out of her mouth are " The people here are nice to me!" These words are so comforting to me since her parents left their special needs daughter in my care. Recently Bertha's mother passed away and this was soon after she had visited Bertha at ActivCare. After the loss of her mother, there was so much love shown to Bertha by all the staff. Marlene M. the program specialist would frequently call and update me on how Bertha was feeling during this very difficult time. Marlene has made my life so much easier in so many ways by letting me know what Bertha needs, updating me on the activities she participates in and those she does not and how she is feeling emotionally. She often goes in her room to make sure Bertha's closet and room are in order. I know Bertha is well cared for! Bertha is a social butterfly and she enjoys talking with others. I have often dropped by, unannounced, and seen Marlene and Bertha laughing and talking. Marlene also engages lovingly with other residents as well. She is such a kind and caring human being. I would like to express my deepest appreciation for the incredible healthcare and love given to my cousin Bertha, who has a diagnosis of Down Syndrome Recently, I bought Bertha’s mother, who is 95 and is in a wheelchair, to visit Bertha at ActivCare Laguna Hill. Her mother was so impressed and relieved when she saw that her daughter was living in a beautiful community, with competent and caring staff members. Bertha began telling her mother about the different activities and later we took her to see Bertha’s room. Bertha calls ActivCare her second home. Second, because the first home was where she live for 51 years but now both she and her mother live in residential communities. Bertha loves her new home so much that on special occasions and holidays she prefers to be at ActivCare because of the activities rather than be with her family which was unusual. I told Chantal, the activity director, that Bertha loves your activities so much she has forgotten about her family. Because Bertha has always been a helper and caretaker of others”instinctively; staff noticed this desire, so they gave her an ActivCare staff badge that names her as an assistant. All of this has won my Bertha’s heart and love and has also given her a PURPOSE! I am so grateful to Debbie, program director, for leading such a great team and showing so much love to my Bertha. I thank GOD for the care staff, medtechs, nurses, front desk and Ruby in marketing for making this transition so easy these past two months. My mother in law was admitted to Active Care a year ago. The staff is incredible. They tend to all of her needs. They have plenty of activities to keep the residents occupied. The facility is beautiful. She loves their food. Rudy Mendez was so helpful with the move in process. She was a godsend. I can’t say enough good things about this facility.

My mom absolutely adores ActivCare! She moved to ActivCare from another facility in the area, and the care she is receiving now so outshines her other facility. She is kept active all day long, so many activities here, and SUCH wonderful staff. From Ruby in the office to Debbie on the floor to Megan at the desk and all the amazing nurses, med techs and aides and others that are too many to mention. Everyone is kind, and helpful, and so attentive to the residents. My mom doesn’t want to participate in all the activities, but she does like to sit on the sidelines and critique others LOL! Residents are never left in chairs in front of the TV just wasting away. They are all encouraged to interact with other residents and participate in all kinds of fun activities. The facility is super-clean, well run, and she loves the food! We are so glad she found ActivCare, we are so grateful that she’s thriving and in such good hands.

After several difficult years dealing with dementia and finding good care for my mother, I was relieved to have found ActivCare Laguna Hills. All of the staff seemed knowledgeable, helpful, and compassionate regarding the nature of the disease and attitude towards addressing behavioral concerns we were faced with. Ruby the sales lead was professional and confident in the communities ability to help my mother. The communication from nurses was excellent and the facility is clean and welcoming. The community has several abundant outdoor spaces and beautiful murals inside of rolling hills and horses. There are lots of residents with varying abilities. There was always an activity taking place during my visits and enough staff to feel there was good supervision and engagement. Debbie the program director made us feel well cared and comfortable when my mother’s condition progressed to needing hospice. From a family that was feeling scared and felt we had limited options for care that could appropriately manage my mother’s behaviors, ActivCare truly fulfilled what they promised and helped my mother acclimate smoothly to a new home.

My cousin has been a resident at ActivCare, Laguna Hills for the past 3 years. The staff is excellent, informative and caring. My cousin has been so happy there that she thinks she is in a resort. ActivCare definitely has earned 5 stars.

A beautiful facility with lots of room and activities for residents. The place is well maintained, very clean, and food is excellent. They took good care of my aunt; she was happy there. I wish she would have allowed me to move her there a few years ago; her quality of life would have been much better (and safer) vs. living by herself for many years.

It has been a huge relief finding such a perfect placement for my aunt who suffers from dementia! Not only is the care at Activecare superb, I feel my aunt is safe and has access to a wide variety of activities that keep her busy and allow her to interact with other residents. Consistent communication with the staff gives me piece of mind and the confidence that I have made the right choice with Activecare!

My Mother has moved here from 2 previous homes and this is by far the best place for her and the other memory care residents, they are like a family and they coexist together very amicably and they are so well cared for and attended to by the amazing Care staff, run by Deborah and she is constantly planting the garden and hanging the latest festive decorations and planning the calendar and still has time to say hello to all the residents and she and Ruby and front office staff always are there to greet me daily as I am fortunate to work across the street and drop in anytime and everyone is always hustling around with the meals and getting the members out to the tables and planning activities and just had the local pre-school come in with their costumes to entertain the residents. They work very hard and they are always on the go, they always let me know if my mom needs anything or what has been going on with her and Cristina the nurse has been very hands on with the care of my mom and med changes and calls when there is a change or a concern and we discuss options and I am very pleased with my Mom's care and her life here at Active Care and so happy I can be a part of their family.

ActivCare in Laguna Hills was the answer to our prayers when we needed it most! Ruby, Debbie, Christina, Michelle and all the staff were not only professional and accommodating, but also the most caring team I could have dreamed for! They helped dad through the most difficult time of his life and communicated with me whenever I needed about his meds, health, everything! My dad was so well cared for under their leadership, the whole staff is loving and kind, and I can’t imagine a better place for loved ones in need. They helped facilitate doctor and PT, OT visits, and helped me arrange for drivers to appointments when dad needed them. The facility is new and beautiful and it is a smaller setting which my dad appreciated. The staff arranged for fun events and trips for those who needed to get away for a bit. They accommodated the special diet we asked for and encouraged our visits whenever possible with a beautiful facility to visit in. I truly can’t say enough great things about this staff and facility, and am forever grateful to them!!!

We had to place someone into the facility. The facility is clean and the rooms are lovely. There are activities all day and the residents are with other residents during the day doing activities. They have a patio which allows the residents to enjoy sun and fresh air while being safe. Ruby was great with helping us get admitted and the services in place. She spent hours with compassion and respect for their partner and daughter. The nurse kept us informed and called every day while they was getting settled. Our loved one ending up needing hospice care. They are experienced in hospice and were a great help with recommendations. Everything went smoothly. Everyone on the staff was so caring and considerate during their transition time. The nurses watched over them and coordinated quickly with family and with the hospice nurses. They were so kind. They even did the packing for us. As always Ruby coordinated all the paperwork and billing. She knows what to do and does it timely. She was a great help. I highly recommend ActivCare if you need help for a relative suffering memory issues.

I highly recommend ActivCare Laguna Hills to anyone looking for excellent dementia care for a loved one. The facility is very clean and the staff is well-trained. My brother moved from another memory care facility that did not know how to handle dementia behaviors. It was stressful to make the move, but with the help of Ruby, Nurse Christina and all the care-givers it was a smooth transition and he has been very well cared for. I could not be happier with the care my father is receiving at ActivCare. We had to make a life-changing decision when my previously active and independent father fell and broke his hip. As a result, his dementia rapidly accelerated and he did not progress as expected with physical therapy. He could no longer live on his own. We visited and researched a number of options for my suddenly wheelchair-bound father. We were instantly impressed with ActivCare. It is new - bright, clean, welcoming, safe, organized, spacious, and engaging. There are both indoor and outdoor areas for residents. There are a variety of options available for rooms. Residents are encouraged to spend a majority of their time in the great room, where there are frequent daily activities. However, my real praise goes far beyond the physical facility. Ruby in Admissions was helpful in answering so many questions that we had early in the process and was available by text after hours and on weekends. Once he moved in, we were immediately impressed with the interaction between the staff and the residents. Every resident is known by face and name and the caregivers genuinely pay attention to and interact with the residents. The attention to detail is so appreciated. I am so appreciative of the little things the staff takes care of for my dad, such as weekly shaves, making sure he is dressed well, that his hair is combed or he has his hat on, and even having little jokes with him that help me to feel that he is truly known and understood. I have personally witnessed how well the staff knows each resident and their specific strengths and needs. Ellen and Christina in particular have kept me informed with frequent phone calls and check-ins. I was particularly moved on Father's Day when we attended a luncheon event with live entertainment. Either my husband or myself see my dad every day, but we are focused on him during our visits. On Father's Day, we were able to truly see the breadth and depth of the care that is provided to all residents. I was literally moved to tears as I watched numerous staff members engage with, encourage, laugh with, and even dance with residents. The fact that the staff are smiling and laughing with residents makes my heart so happy. I am so grateful to have ActivCare along on this journey with my dad. I highly recommend!

If you are searching for a caring, loving, and as stimulating as possible for your mentally and/or physically impaired loved one, then look no further. ActivCare is the most wonderful place. The staff becomes family. They are professional, and yet very compassionate and caring. It's like your mom and dad, are their mom and dad. I can not say enough about how thankful I am to the staff and their compassion towards my mom and my family. Please visit and see for yourself.

My mom was in another memory care community when we were told about ActivCare. When I went to look at ActivCare and take a tour I was immediately impressed by the new building and how it was arranged with a lot of space that can be used for multiple functions for activities, dining, watching TV and movies, and more. The caregivers were very engaged with the residents and I could sense that they were not there just to work, but really cared about them. Mom has been much more active and much less bored in her room since she moved in to ActivCare and has been more happy and at ease despite her Alzheimer’s diagnosis. I highly recommend ActiveCare for anyone looking for a memory care community for a loved one.

This is a tough journey. I have known for more than a year that my dad couldn’t take care of my mom without losing himself. It took a year of me working on this to make it happen. During that time, Ruby at ActivCare Laguna Hills has stayed in touch with me by listening and supporting. FINALLY as a family we took this huge step, and my mom is VERY happy, settled, feels safe and engages in activities that give her a sense of purpose. We are thrilled. The staff at ActivCare has made this transition manageable in a caring and supportive way. My mom is safe, and my dad and I feel like part of the ActivCare community as well. This place is top-notch. I am so proud and happy that we were able to get my brother into this amazing memory care facility. The staff at ActivCare Laguna Hills go out of their way to make their residents as well as the families of their residents feel comfortable, safe and happy. Our family is able to work together with the staff at the facility to ensure that my brothers needs are met in the best way possible for HIM. There are no cookie cutter care plans here; the care plans are designed for each resident individually. As a registered nurse, I have high expectations for the care that my brother receives. My first impression when I walked through the doors at Activ Care in Laguna Hills was that it felt very homey and had a sense of comfort and care. I met with Patricia and Ruby and they made me feel like I was at home with my family. They were very reassuring that Activ Care would be the right home for my uncle who was currently in the hospital. He had lung cancer, dementia and PTSD from serving in the Viet Nam war while he was in the Marine Corps. They went above and beyond what most facilities would do. They gave us guidance on Medicare protocol and support through the process of being discharged from the hospital to Activ Care. When he first first arrived they did everything they could to make him feel comfortable. As a former healthcare employee my expectations were very high and the kindness and care that he received from all of the staff exceeded those expectations.
