Beware of this "home." Since the new management, Parkview Of Glendale (Berg Communities, LLC) has taken over management in 2017, the quality of care has gravely decreased. The Berg Family owns a host of assisted living communities in the Northern California area & Parkview is one of (if not, their only facility) in the Southern California region. In 2018, Parkview began a massive remodeling project and attempted to raise the rental price soon thereafter. As of 2019, only the COVID pandemic has halted the project. They only removed the popcorn ceilings from each room to avoid being sued but many of the rooms still need modernization in the form of new carpet, paint, new blinds and new furniture. The daily quality of food is horrible (except for when a holiday event or an Open House is held for families). Vegetables are mostly canned and not fresh. When Parkview attempted the rental increase, Residents had to rely on the help of the ombudsman to halt & delay the increase. Parkview is also not the most secure facility for the money. They have a parking garage which is easily accessible and an elevator leading up to the facility from the underground garage. There are no surveillance camera surrounding the building nor the parking area. They have an unprofessional and evil Assistant Director & a Director who will attempt to circumvent RCFE laws & California Code Of Regulations Laws, put pressure on the family, apply unauthorized services and fees to residents and even lie if they want a resident to move out of the facility. Parkview also has no truly structured residential agreement for individuals. As of 2019, they were still using the same 4-page agreement from 2017 with no indication of a well-organized and concrete binder with updated materials. If you mail a check to Parkview, you will not get a receipt mailed back to you. Before COVID, Parkview also had a "transportation service" for residents but the service was not daily. Many times, the driver would be away in Las Vegas. However, Parkview still advertised the transportation service as though it was not sporadic. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE. Save your money & your loved one's dignity.

The Brookdale Glendale was a nice older facility. When we walked in, I noticed there was a lot of people there. One thing I looked for was the staff to resident ratio. The place was clean but it was not what we were looking for.

The Brookdale is nice and the food is good, my mother is happy there. The advice that I have for anyone looking is to beware of [Removed]. She is the business director and she is very tricky. I am not sure if it is intentional or not, but the way she words things are not right. There are a few things on my current contract that have changed and I am still trying to straighten things out.

When I was looking for a home for my father-in -law, I had a few criteria in mind: cleanliness, atmosphere, staff friendliness and food quality and overall cost. Glendale Brookdale scored the highest among the homes that we have visited. My father-in- law has moved in for a month now and has settled down nicely. He has made new friends, is enjoying the music events and shopping trips. He is happier, has put on weight and look healthier. My husband and I thought we have made the right choice.

This is a pretty good community for the price. The staff seem nice. My brother would rate the food about a 2 or 3. The community is clean and well maintained. They offer daily activities.

I enjoyed my meetin and tour with Kamilla. I liked the set up in the rooms. It was very clean, lots of activities to do. Only thing i dont like is they require a $2000 community fee. This is my #2 choice.
