I came to visit my family member last month and he's doing great! The care staff were attentive to his needs and were helping him with his medications. They were patient and so kind. The activities were well suited for the age group (especially the game with the man that sings the songs). My cousin was waiting for Bingo to begin which is his favorite game! He was very engaged in the activites. Thank you all for taking care of my family member!

My grandfather-in-law was here from 2018-2019 and we had a wonderful experience. The facilities, amenities, and staff were top-knotch; professional, caring, and kind. They were so personable, and really got to know our family every time we would come visit during his stay there. They were patient with us every time we had to pull up in the turnout and take his baby granddaughter out of the car seat, yet made ensure safety standards with the building. His room was modern and clean, and they would send someone in to clean it and take care of his laundry. He even got a little mixed up upon finding and returning to his room on a couple occasions and they swiftly took care of him. The food was delicious (the lumpia especially), we would often come visit him in the morning and have breakfast with him, or come for the fabulous happy hour at the bar, and then reserve the private room for family dinners. We loved the movie theater that was always fully stocked with popcorn and candy! They host great events, such as a fantastic Lunar New Year celebration complete with a lion dancer and Chinese food. Highly recommend, and know that you can have a family member here worry-free, as they will be well taken care of.

Walking into Atria in Foster City, my first thought was that it was simple, modern, and beautiful. I've been to other communities and thought to myself that it seemed dreary and that the residents needed a lot of TLC but when I came in during the late afternoon, there were residents enjoying happy hour, there was entertainment. Just lovely!

Great place to just chill and half a little walk. Also, cool food places around to just grab a quick snack, too. Nice area too.

Visited this community last month. It was clean and the staff was friendly. The rooms were well thought out and very ideal for the aging population! Also love that it’s around Bridgepointe shopping center and around many restaurants!

Our experience has been mixed and is actually still evolving. On the positives, the building/facilities are quite impressive. One the other hand, other reviewers have commented about being asked to move out b/c of level of care needed. Incoming healthy and young residents probably give this no thought, but wouldn't residents eventually and over time need high levels of care? Our experience started off with signing at the end of March 2022, then getting very strong hesitation on the level of care needed, and multiple calls and further interviews and doctor clarifications led to what become a 5 day delay to moving in-ie. the original date was April 14. It was during this time that we decided that Atria was not a strong fit or the right place. For my parents' situation, the more we moved forward in the process the more we didn't feel that my parents would thrive and be safe in Atria. Obviously (your parents) situation and needs maybe different.

Every time I walk through the front doors at Atria Foster Square I am greeted with such enthusiasm and happy eyes! They made me feel so welcomed and they are very good at making sure to record my temperature and that I had a new mask on before going into the community. They showed me such a beautiful community and all the workers were so kind and friendly. The residents are so well cared for and the staff really pay attention to every little detail. I love visiting the residents and seeing everyone so happy. This is why community is so important and they make it look so effortless.

Living at Atria Foster Square is a gift I gave myself and life in much easier for me living here. Today is one month that Ive been here. Even though I am 60 years old and much younger than most of the residents, my hereditary disability has progressed and Im not able to function as well as I used to. Every week my laundry (including bedding if I want) is done, returned clean and folded. Light housekeeping is done weekly also. Three meals a day are included and the food is good to excellent. I dont require a Michelin chef and Santos and his staff make tasty and healthy meals. Desserts are my favorite! The staff here are impressive.....friendly and helpful and address residents by name. From all the executive staff-directors to Concierges to drivers to caregivers, everyone is respectful and attentive. I appreciate the welcoming atmosphere. Even though Covid protocols limit activities at the moment, Kris, Resident Engagement Director, has many activities daily that are fun and engaging. Twice daily exercises, morning coffee-conversation, learning and art activities, Bingo and Name That Tune, a daily or twice daily movie, religious services and events, Blackjack and Poker.....theres something for everyone! This isnt a medical facility so there isnt medical help available but every resident wears an alert pendant that gets a rapid response. Fellow residents are friendly and welcoming and inclusive, and those are all important to me. Transportation booked in advance is available within reason and particularly helpful for me since I dont have a car here and is included in the monthly cost. Theres a waiting list for parking in the garage but parking nearby is plentiful. The Post Office is outside and a small market, Starbucks and half a dozen restaurants too. Poppies Bistro is right outside the lobby and now open with limited hours. Each resident has their own mailbox with larger mailboxes for Post Office delivered packages that dont fit in your mailbox. Packages from UPS, Fedex, Amazon, etc are delivered to your apartment by staff. My beloved cat is here with me, a top priority for me. I also very much appreciate that its quiet here and comfortable and nothing like a nursing home. Help is available for additional cost and I it use once in a while at the moment. Before I chose this facility I toured others in the area and nothing came close. Im very happy with my choice!

My husband and Ireally like this place very much. We are very impressed and we appreciate the service from all the staff. Best services.

Upon seeing the facility, I am more than pleased about the way it looks and the how nice the staff is. You can tell they put thought and hard work into the the maintenance and presentation of the facility. This is definitely the kind of place I would hope to put my grandmother in should she need assisted living.

My husband and I relocated from our beautiful 37th floor condo in San Francisco to Atria fostersquare about two weeks ago. My husbands Parkinsons was the motivating factor and we were of course very hesitant to do this during Covid and especially this January. We loved our dream home and always assumed we would live there until we both died. But we realized the Parkinsons was forcing our hand in terms of a move. Very reluctantly we met with Michael for both a virtual tour of Atria and about a week later an in person tour.We loved working with Michael from the marketing department and he has made good on everything he promised and then some. The staff and housekeeping have been phenomenal and gone above and beyond right down to things like hand delivering a Starbucks latte because I mentioned that we really had missed those during Covid. A gorgeous custom made Mexican lunch yesterday arrived delivered by the chef himself because we had mentioned to someone that we loved Mexican foodMy one requirement was a senior community that was fairly new and no more than five years old. this beautiful contemporary retirement community is about four years old and it ticks every box… And I have a lot of boxes!!ast of all, my husband has started walking with another resident, Willl, who himself has Parkinsons and is a tremendous encouragement to my partner that he will one day be able to walk without a walker or a cane. It was a good decision and we are making this transition with a minimum of sadness of having left our dream home in the city.

I worked here at Atria for 7 months and I truly enjoyed my time there. Kristin Thomas, the Resident Engagement Director, is truly phenomenal and one of the best human beings I have ever met. She was constantly putting the residents happiness first and always coming up with new ways to get the staff and residents engaged!I made so many connections with many of the residents, and the staff and administration there did a phenomenal job of ensuring the safety and health of the residents and staff during Covid and even before CoviI highly recommend working here if you enjoy bringing a smile to peoples faces and having great leadership!
January 2021
Atria is a beautiful, modern facility, in a great location. We looked at it for my mother and it will definitely be the right place when the time is right. A big part of our positive impression was working with Karen. Cant say enough - thoughtful, responsive, authentic, she just knew how to make a difficult process a little better and easier to manage. Really all the staff we met came across as kind and professional.
January 2021
Working as Atria at Foster Square has been one of, if not the most, rewarding job I have ever had. It ended up being the longest job Ive ever had as well, and shamefully, Im one to get bored easily! I ended up even switching my major in college currently into Recreational Therapy from Physical Therapy after working in the activities department for about a year and a half now. I will also say Kristin Thomas is the best director Ive ever had and her passion for the job, community, and especially the residents has been a huge influence on me personally and on the whole atmosphere of the community!
January 2021
I continue to be deeply impressed with every aspect of Atria Foster Square. The facilities are modern and new, units are well appointed and very comfortable but it is the staff that sets it apart. The salespeople I have dealt with, particularly Karen Malekos-Smith, is knowledgeable, kind, empathetic and competent. When my elderly mom is ready to one day enter an assisted facility, Atria Foster Square will be #1 on our wish list.

I met with Karen Malekos-Smith the Community Sales Director about the Atria facility at Foster Square. My elderly Mom is not quite ready to transition to an assisted living facility, but I was very impressed with Karen and her knowledge, service and professionalism. I look forward to her touring the facility with Karen when she is ready.

A very loving and nurturing staff who spread love and joy to all the community.

Karen was extremely helpful and informative of the wonderful programs, rooms and general feeling of the Foster City location. I was hoping to find a room map on line of the 2-bedroom units, since we are still looking for the "perfect" one!

One of the best Assisted Living, and Memory care center, probably top 3, in the whole entire country! The Staff gives it their constant dedication, and go an extra mile making the clients happy and engaged. The Brilliant architecture and majestic Baby Grand Piano where Artists and Musicians share their talents, and keeps the residents entertained and feel loved, is icing to the cake! I would want my own mom to live and retire here because of the dedicated Staff. Most are professionals, from being an Excellent Chef to executive director, and employees from Respective universities such as Stanford,University of California Berkeley, A resident Artist from Juilliard,Conservatory of Music, and UCSF, Mills Peninsula hospitals, and Talented specialists from Atria, and leaders from Las Vegas that give their whole heart,to name a few. If you're looking for a place for mom and Dad for their retirement years, this is the place to be. The Team work and professionalism goes above and beyond. The Executive director also makes his employees feel appreciated, with a kind word everyday, as he passes them by...and that is the most basic thing any human can do, yet the most important thing. Location is also close to major businesses like IBM in Foster city, and Safeway grocery stores,CVS, Bridgepoint Ice rink and mall,( which used to be the warm, Fashion Island mall in the 1990s) and Leo Ryan Park, which has a lagoon, or huge lake and is absolutely gorgeous during Springtime and summer, with international and cultural happenings, and Senior activities, every weekend or every month. Highly recommended. The staff is very caring. The vibe, very welcoming.
