We visited this place and had the pleasure of meeting Gunnison, who was very cheerful, knowledgeable, and personable. He made us feel very welcome and took the time to answer all of our questions with patience and kindness. We toured the facility and were very impressed with how clean, well-maintained, and inviting it was. The atmosphere felt warm, peaceful, and caring, and the staff we encountered were friendly and professional. Overall, it is a beautiful and well-run community that gives a strong sense of comfort and confidence. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a caring and supportive environment for their loved ones.

I am grateful to the team at Atria Foster Square! Especially Gary, Gunnison, and Freddie, Executive Director for their outstanding support during an urgent hospital discharge over Christmas week. During a time when many are hard to reach or slow to support, this team jumped in without hesitation to ensure everything was handled with care, urgency, and attention to detail. Gary even went out of day of do to an assessment and Freddie worked all Christmas Eve on finding the best possible for the family. Their responsiveness, clear communication, and genuine commitment to resident care during the holidays made a challenging situation so much smoother for everyone involved. Right at the moment they walk in, they were impressed by how welcoming, clean, and well-maintained the facility is. The care team truly goes above and beyond to ensure residents feel safe, comfortable, and engaged. Communication with families is clear and consistent. Every time when I visited my friend in memory care at Atria at Foster Square, she was busily engaged in some kind of class activities. I have been invited to participate in Chinese NewYear calligraphy and lion dance, Making Your Own Ice Cream Sundae, Carnival Day, Labor Day BBQ the food was always restaurant quality and all the residents I met loved living there. great staff, very friendly and welcoming I brought my grandpa for a tour here 2 weeks ago. Walking in felt like walking into a five star hotel. The staff were pleasant and friendly. I met the resident services director, Jonelle, who was knowledgeable about what Atria has to offer with care. My grandfather-in-law was here from 2018-2019 and we had a wonderful experience. The facilities, amenities, and staff were top-knotch; professional, caring, and kind. They were so personable, and really got to know our family every time we would come visit during his stay there. They were patient with us every time we had to pull up in the turnout and take his baby granddaughter out of the car seat, yet made ensure safety standards with the building. His room was modern and clean, and they would send someone in to clean it and take care of his laundry. He even got a little mixed up upon finding and returning to his room on a couple occasions and they swiftly took care of him. The food was delicious (the lumpia especially), we would often come visit him in the morning and have breakfast with him, or come for the fabulous happy hour at the bar, and then reserve the private room for family dinners. We loved the movie theater that was always fully stocked with popcorn and candy! They host great events, such as a fantastic Lunar New Year celebration complete with a lion dancer and Chinese food. Highly recommend, and know that you can have a family member here worry-free, as they will be well taken care of.

Our experience has been mixed and is actually still evolving. On the positives, the building/facilities are quite impressive. One the other hand, other reviewers have commented about being asked to move out b/c of level of care needed. Incoming healthy and young residents probably give this no thought, but wouldn't residents eventually and over time need high levels of care? Our experience started off with signing at the end of March 2022, then getting very strong hesitation on the level of care needed, and multiple calls and further interviews and doctor clarifications led to what become a 5 day delay to moving in-ie. the original date was April 14. It was during this time that we decided that Atria was not a strong fit or the right place. For my parents' situation, the more we moved forward in the process the more we didn't feel that my parents would thrive and be safe in Atria. Obviously (your parents) situation and needs maybe different.

I went on a tour at this facility and was blown away by the professionalism, thoughtfulness, and cleanliness. All caregivers and staff were well trained, collaborative, and passionate about providing the best care for the residents. The staff was very personable and knew each of their residents very well. The environment was set up with safety in mind and there were many places throughout the facility to participate in communal activities (eg: a courtyard garden, movie theater, dining room piano, fitness studio, along, etc.). I was also impressed to learn that the design of the building was even well thought out as each bedroom in the facility receives natural sunlight which enhances health and mood. While on the tour, my classmate and I had the opportunity to have lunch and meet with the culinary staff. The dining environment was serene with a welcoming atmosphere. The culinary staff mentioned the importance of understanding their residents' meal preferences and are well versed in creating meals influenced by different cultures. The food presentation and service was that of a high end restaurant and everything tasted delicious. As a student studying to become a future OT, I can see how much time, effort, and dedication is put into providing the highest level of care for their residents. I was extremely impressed with the monthly calendars and daily schedules created for the residents as it is important to provide opportunities for older adults to socialize, reminisce, and engage in meaningful occupations. Atria at Foster City feels like a big family. As they say in our profession, "Our clients are the true experts." In the case of Atria at Foster City, you can see the staff truly strive to learn from their residents to make this place feel like home.

Coming from the hospitality industry with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Cal Poly Pomona University and the many travels I've experienced, I have acquired a certain level of knowledge and appreciation in judging, as I will describe my wonderful experience with management and service at Atria. When my family went to different locations for vacations in the country, I needed a place to stay while they were away. That was what brought me to Atria. I was very lucky to find Atria. From the moment that I cut the golden ribbon upon checking in, I immediately knew that I was in a special and elegant place. My intuition was correct because Atria exceeded my expectations. The service was impeccable. The staff was superbly trained, and it showed by the caliber of service that I received. The food service was on the 5-star hotel level. Seldom have I found the staff with such excellent training in combination with a good disposition. The personal touch was elegantly executed. A very special mention goes to Resident Ambassador Jansie. She was dedicated to the needs of the guests and delivered the requests efficiently. During my stay she made every guest feel welcome. What a treasure you have in Jansie. Her warmth made me feel at home. A must deserving mention of your outstanding staff: Jaime, Michael, Angel, Voytek for attending to my needs without hesitation. Also, the friendliness of Luma, Jaison, Juan, Fortuna, Bernie and Crissy. Their smiles light up a room! I especially enjoyed the activity program. It was outstanding! Living at Atria Foster Square is a gift I gave myself and life in much easier for me living here. Today is one month that I’ve been here. Even though I am 60 years old and much younger than most of the residents, my hereditary disability has progressed and I’m not able to function as well as I used to. Every week my laundry (including bedding if I want) is done, returned clean and folded. Light housekeeping is done weekly also. Three meals a day are included and the food is good to excellent. I don’t require a Michelin chef and Santos and his staff make tasty and healthy meals. Desserts are my favorite! The staff here are impressive.....friendly and helpful and address residents by name. From all the executive staff/directors to Concierges to drivers to caregivers, everyone is respectful and attentive. I appreciate the welcoming atmosphere. Even though Covid protocols limit activities at the moment, Kris, Resident Engagement Director, has many activities daily that are fun and engaging. Twice daily exercises, morning coffee/conversation, learning and art activities, Bingo and Name That Tune, a daily or twice daily movie, religious services and events, Blackjack and Poker.....there’s something for everyone! This isn’t a medical facility so there isn’t medical help available but every resident wears an alert pendant that gets a rapid response. Fellow residents are friendly and welcoming and inclusive, and those are all important to me. Transportation booked in advance is available within reason and particularly helpful for me since I don’t have a car here and is included in the monthly cost. There’s a waiting list for parking in the garage but parking nearby is plentiful. The Post Office is outside and a small market, Starbucks and half a dozen restaurants too. Poppies Bistro is right outside the lobby and now open with limited hours. Each resident has their own mailbox with larger mailboxes for Post Office delivered packages that don’t fit in your mailbox. Packages from UPS, Fedex, Amazon, etc are delivered to your apartment by staff. My beloved cat is here with me, a top priority for me. I also very much appreciate that it’s quiet here and comfortable and nothing like a nursing home. Help is available for additional cost and I it use once in a while at the moment. Before I chose this facility I toured others in the area and nothing came close. I’m very happy with my choice!

My husband and I relocated from our beautiful 37th floor condo in San Francisco to Atria fostersquare about two weeks ago. My husband’s Parkinsons was the motivating factor and we were of course very hesitant to do this during Covid and especially this January. We loved our dream home and always assumed we would live there until we both died. But we realized the Parkinson’s was forcing our hand in terms of a move. Very reluctantly we met with Michael for both a virtual tour of Atria and about a week later an in person tour. We loved working with Michael from the marketing department and he has made good on everything he promised and then some. The staff and housekeeping have been phenomenal and gone above and beyond right down to things like hand delivering a Starbucks latte because I mentioned that we really had missed those during Covid. A gorgeous custom made Mexican lunch yesterday arrived delivered by the chef himself because we had mentioned to someone that we loved Mexican food. My one requirement was a senior community that was fairly new and no more than five years old. this beautiful contemporary retirement community is about four years old and it ticks every box And I have a lot of boxes!! Last of all, my husband has started walking with another resident, Willl, who himself has Parkinson’s and is a tremendous encouragement to my partner that he will one day be able to walk without a walker or a cane. It was a good decision and we are making this transition with a minimum of sadness of having left our dream home in the city.

I have been a resident at Atria for 11 months and I would like to share a few of my thoughts. I worked in the long term pharmaceutical industry for 27 years and serviced senior citizens and long term senior facilities. Our mission was to provide excellent patient service and respect our senior citizens. I believe seniors are honored and respected at Atria also. I also believe that Atria has done an excellent job in protecting us during this epidemic. Atria has kept our spirits up with their life engagement department providing daily continuous programming through zoom, hallway programming, in room programming, and excellent exercise classes. My life at Atria is also easier because I have much more time to devote to the things I enjoy. I have had more time for intra reflection, evaluating priorities, setting new goals, and much more time with my wife of 56 years. I have a real sense of gratitude for the wonderful staff of people who create the opportunity for me to have this time to do the things I enjoy. Lastly, Atria manages my medications all the way from delivery to administering the medicines to me at the prescribed times. I have no worries or cares about the medication. And having worked as a pharmacist for 40 years, I am exceptionally pleased with the service I am getting.

Hello everyone I wanted to take a minute to let you know how wonderful it is to have my mother at Atria Foster Square. We were desperate to find a safe place for my mom when her memory declined and started to exhibit signs of dementia. It was a challenging time for all. The staff Atria came alongside us and helped make the life changing decisions , for my mom , that needed to be made with ease, comfort and care. We met with Karen who was so professional, kind and loving. Then the leader Freddie who runs a strong loving professional Senior Housing Retirement Facility. What has impressed me the most are the caring staff there. From the nursing staff, to activity Directors, to beauty care employees, to the fabulous cooks. Everyone who works there goes the extra mile and treats your family as if they are their own family. They are there for you and your loved ones and they truly care. Here is an example. They always go an extra mile. Recently my mom had a birthday and Since the unfortunate times of the Pandemic and everything in shut down mode we couldn’t go to celebrate with her. The staff is there to help us stay connected to our loved ones. They did a special Birthday zoom call. We all sang Happy Birthday, served a cake, gave her the gifts and we were All able to reminisce and honor her. Also, We get at least one weekly zoom conversation a week with her (or more) if we would like to schedule them. They will provide more if requested. In the Memory care unit, Kristin and Olga are top notch. They always go the extra mile to help my mom have the most wonderful experience each day. I can not say enough at how fortunate we are to have my mom at Atria with loving staff who treat us and my mom like family.
