Been playing this course for years and generally feel lucky to have such a well maintained city owned course. However, lately they are keeping the rough (especially the green-side roughs) far too long. It’s very easy to lose a ball 5-10 yards from the green because they sink into the deep rough. It’s clear they are mowing because cut grass is everywhere, but they are keeping it far too long. Please go back to the old policy on rough height!

Growing up in San Francisco, I consider myself a city girl. I never thought I would love the country and weather I found at Paradise Valley Estates. After taking care of my mother in her home during her final 3.5 years, we decided we did not want to burden our children with that. Moving here was a gift to both our children and each other. We now have peace of mind that we have been responsible for our health now and higher level of care when we will need it. Our kids are grateful and their friends are envious because Mom and Dad are busy with lots of new friends and fun activities (lectures, learning Spanish). Pickle ball has become my favorite sport along with yoga, balance class, line and square dancing plus meditation We always lived in a condo apartment in SF. Now we have a patio home that is all on one level with a front and back yard of grass and plants. Paradise Valley estates is a secure gated community with lots of land for beautiful walks (75 acres). Best move we ever made in our mid 70’s. My husband is a vet, and we use Travis Air Force Base often. If we want a city fix, we hop on the Vallejo Ferry (safe, clean, run by the Coast Guard; arrives at the Ferry Building in SF). The spirit at PVE is happy, friendly and welcoming. The best thing about PVE is the vibrant people. Staff and residents say don’t wait, come now while you can enjoy it. They are so right! Susie P

Just had a beautiful walk from my house over to dinner where they served us the sirloin strip steak and it was wonderful. As we walked home we saw friends walking their dogs in the wonderful comfortable evening air and everything in the world seem good with all the beautiful trees and flowers surrounding our homes

We have been very happy living here. Living spaces are generously sized and well designed, and there is a wide variety of sizes and layouts; the setting is lovely, with views of hills and the nearby golf course; there are far more activities than any one person can participate in, and more can be developed to meet interests as they arise; the food is plentiful, varied, and delicious, with vegan and vegetarian options, and multiple dining venues from formal dining to quick pickup meals; and there is a working emphasis on health, wellness and fitness for all here, staff and residents alike. Of course there are more plusses, like music activities including a chorale, huge resident participation in bocce teams, opportunities to help other residents, learn from in-house and outside experts who come to do presentations on a wide variety of topics, and being able to meet interesting, friendly people every day. The best aspect of living here for me is that people are friendly and helpful. It’s an attitude we cultivate and it makes living here very pleasant.

Love the beautiful landscapes, the sense of community, the food, the gym, the available medical care. Moving here 10 years ago was one of the best decisions I ever made.

I’ve been a vendor on behalf of Xfinity for this property for several years and I support 70 communities like this and I just want to say this is in my top 3 because of the amazing property staff and incredible grounds!!! Truly an amazing place to be!

My husband and I moved here in 2021. We love it! The campus is beautiful, and LARGE (75 acres). I love our cottage. But it’s the people who make this place so wonderful. Residents are well traveled and interesting. The staff is so friendly, always waving and saying hello. PVE is conveniently located between Sacramento and San Francisco and Napa Valley wine country. Although, there are some excellent wineries within a few miles of here. Paradise Valley golf course is across the street from us, but some homes are right on the course with great views!

Beautiful location and the staff are top notch!

My husband and I have lived at Paradise Valley Estates for a little over five years. When we moved here we were in our mis 70’s and fairly healthy meaning no acute impending health issues. From the time we arrived we have felt comfortable, welcome, and well cared for. We live in the independent housing area and have dinner most evenings in one of the dining rooms. We chose a duplex home and made several changes prior to move in including adding window in living room, upgraded kitchen cupboards, hardwood flooring among other items. Shortly after settling I suffered serious health issues that required a seven week stay in the acute nursing facility , followed by assisted living. The care I received was tremendous. Well trained staff, comfortable well appointed rooms, and attention to every detail important to a speedy and pleasant road to recovery. The whole time my husband stayed in our home accompanied by our little dog and cat. I could go on describing all the reasons we both love it here but the list is exhaustive. In closing our decision to move here was the best decision we could have made. We have absolutely no worries day by day. Love it here.

I am very disappointed that the main dining room has been closed for daily dining. A major reason that my parents have moved out of PVE is that the main dining room has been closed down for daily dining. When they moved in to PVE 4 years ago, they were happy to have the short walk (with covered walkways) to the main dining room. Going to the dining room daily gave them exercise, a good meal, and a place for social interaction. Those benefits have been taken away. PVE management does not seem to fully understand the importance of the main dining room. During the deadly period of covid, it made sense to keep the dining room closed and to provide residents with dinner delivery. But now, PVE management seems to be using covid as an excuse (also the fact that hiring is difficult) to avoid returning to normal use of the main dining room. PVE management is pushing the use of the Oak dining room, and appears to have no intention of reopening the main dining room. The Oak dining room is not an easy walk from buildings 1000, 2000, 3000, and driving is not an option for many residents who no longer drive. (Providing a covered and smooth walkway would help make the Oak dining room more accessible.) It seems that a lot of residents are not happy with the current situation. I believe that PVE management, including Kevin the CEO, is trying to do what is best for the community. However, a few months back I heard my mother say that Kevin didn't care about PVE and was only looking to get his next job. She didn't come up with this idea by herself, probably just repeating what she heard from other residents. PVE was a good place for my parents to live when they moved in 4 years ago. There are a lot of good attributes to PVE, and I hope that PVE management will improve the dining situation. It's too late to keep my parents at PVE, but I hope that residents of PVE will benefit from an improved dining situation.

Beautiful community. My grandmother lives there and it's just a fantastic and welcoming community. The grounds are very well kept and the apartments are huge. All of the staff, whether managerial or not, are friendly and helpful. They really care about their patrons and it shows.
