First and foremost, I really liked the care givers at this facility. For that reason I am giving 3 stars instead of 1. My issues are with the company and their policies. My mother resided in this facility for over five years. We were told to expect a 3-4% increase per year. Over 5 years, there was a 52% increase on the rent alone (not counting the extra charges relating to personalized care). The communication between the family and the facility was very poor. We never received out of office notices, and sometimes did not know if our emails had been read. Some of our requests for information went unanswered. (Communication between my grandchildren' s daycare and their parents is far superior, for a fraction of the cost.) My mother entered the facility with a diabetic plan and appropriate meals. At some point the diabetic meals got dropped, and I was told that she eats the same thing as all the other residents in memory care. I was told that it was “her right to choose deserts.” Really?! Are residents with nut allergies given the same choices? Two different doctors requested verbally and in writing that she be on a diabetic diet, yet they refused. It wasn’t until she was on hospice that they accommodated this request. While in hospice, she was prescribed morphine. However, there was only a nurse on duty at the facility Monday - Friday, and it was expected that the family would come in on the weekends to administer the drug. She was also sent to the hospital for a minor fall while on hospice. While talking to staff regarding this, they had no idea that she was even in hospice. This issue should have been dealt with Hospice and not the ER. Our family had to pay for this unnecessary cost. Three weeks after she passed, I received a bill for the following month. It wasn’t until I pointed out to them that she had died did I receive a very short conciliatory note. I would hope that some of these issues have been addressed with the new ownership, but we have seen a deterioration of services with each management change in the past.

This place is very inviting, you can feel the positive energy as soon as you walk in the door. Michael Carrillo was very professional, genuine and empathetic. He listened and did not interrupt while I was speaking- this is very important to me.

She genuinely wants to help, not just make another sale. She went above and beyond by giving me a tour. I felt her friendliness and respect toward me every step of the way. WOW! This community is one of the most clean and beautiful in Dublin. If you do not believe me you have to go see for yourself. The moment you walk in the door you are greeted by their friendly staff. Lisa was so accommodating and Lacey was so helpful to me and my husband. I highly recommend this place.

My mother joined the Emerald Valley memory care community last month and we are confident she is getting the care she needs. The entire nursing staff is excellent and attentive. The care workers are also amazing. She took an immediate liking to Gerard, who was definitely instrumental in the success of her transition in the beginning. Jasmine engages the residents in daily activities which they all seem to enjoy. Brandie has also been great in managing my mom’s care plan as she is settling into her new routine. All the staff on the second floor are incredibly patient and engaging with all the residents. We appreciate them all.

My mom is so happy there and very well taken care of and provided for, which allows me to find piece of mind and sleep at night. This review is for the Memory Care unit on the second floor of Emerald Valley, not the Assisted Living care. My wife was diagnosed with Alzheimer's at age 62 and I was her caregiver until she was age 68. At that time I couldn't care for her by myself anymore. My Daughter and I began looking for a place for her care. My Daughter had visited Emerald Valley and she really liked it. I went over to see for myself and really liked it too. We scheduled a meeting in the end of May 2023. During the meeting with Emerald Valley in May, my wife was assessed at the highest level of needing care "a level 6". We liked it so much that I paid the $5,000 entry cost and the room and care cost of $10,410 per month. We moved her in on June 7, 2023. I want to say that Emerald Valley has many things that deserve a 5 star rating. If you have read some of the other reviews you will see some of the things done there. I would visit my wife twice everyday. I knew all of the residents and caregivers in the Memory Care area. And because I would take my wife down to the Main floor during my visit I also knew many of the Assisted Living residents and many of the employee's too. In the Memory Care area there tends to be a bigger turnover of caregivers in the Memory Care area, It's can be very difficult work if you are not properly trained or don't have a special passion to care for people with Dementia. Everything was going good the first couple of months. Then the Memory Dictator was let go. And there was no one really in charge for a while. About that time my wife had a seizure. This was the first time she ever had one. Kaiser put her on anti-seizure medication and as I found out later this can cause irritability. Also I was told that UTI's can cause irritability that she got in the coming months along with going to the ER from dehydration during one of the Covid19 lockdowns at Emerald Valley. I visited every morning around 9am. If my wife was up, I'd take her downstairs for a muffin and coffee she enjoyed. If she wouldn't get up for them, I would go get her up, clean and shower her if she needed. Dress her and change any bedding if necessary. I would always check her room before I would leave. I started to find that some Caregiver would make her bed and not change her sheet when they had been spoiled on. I would also find that whoever was dressing her at times didn't know how to put her Depends on correctly. I shared this with different people in charge. I only wanted the Caregivers to be told so they could learn. I was told later in 2023 that my wife was being verbal and physical with some staff and residents. I was trying to have Emerald Valley work with Kaiser to help her with her irritability she was experiencing. I felt like I had to get the ball rolling all the time trying to help get new prescription's for my wife. Sometime in January 2024 I get a text that the Executive Director and the Memory Care Director wanted to talk with me. I was shocked when they said they were going to require me to hire a Caregiver to be with my wife 12 hours a day for the next 14 days. It's in the contract you will sign. It cost me $35 per hour on top of what I was already paying. That added another $2940 per week I had no choice so a hire a Caregiver. I hoped that they would let my wife stay, this was her home to her. Everything was going good with my wife and towards the end of the two weeks I was being told by the staff that everything was good. The very next day I'm told that something happened between my wife and a visiting Caregiver and my wife would have to move out. I wasn't ready for that news and had no where for my wife to go. I paid for another week. That was in Feb. 2024 and my wife passed away May 7th. That was the beginning of the end when we had to move her out. Kaiser put her in a rehab facility for two weeks because when she left Emerald Valley she couldn't walk very will and they thought that would help her. We were so happy to get her out of the rehab. We found a beautiful Care Home in where she lived her final days.

Michelle G is an excellent Activity Director of Emerald Valley. She has a lot of great activities planned for your residents here weekly. She seems tireless, vibrant, always on the go & makes sure the residents actively participate in activities in your facility. She’s a great asset! Aly Soriano is great Caregiver . She’s always willing to help anyone be it a resident or a guest at this facility. Very knowledgeable at what she does. She is bubbly girl ,easy to get along with. Definitely a great asset to your facility. Carolina Martinez has been Marietta de Borja’s CG eversince she moved in to Elegance in August of 2022 then now called Emerald Valley. She treats Marietta very well, she’s very patient with her , she always gets her ready for her shower, makes sure she participates in activities. Great personality ! Marimel Labastida is another great asset to this facility. Always smiling, even if she’s busy passing meds & always there for or tending to residents who needs her help.

Emerald Valley is a caring community with a team of wonderful staff providing care for the senior residents who live there. The rooms are spacious, the food is delicious, and there are many activities for the residents to enjoy, including indoor live music, movie nights, and outdoor day trips. All the staff are friendly and helpful, and the senior residents receive prompt assistance by simply pressing a button. Many thanks to Mylene, Ron, Carolina, Emilee, Manita, and other staff members who are always attentive and courteous. (P.S. I have been working with a resident here on the 2nd floor for over a year with a outside company. I just wanted to say how great Katia and Jerard have been. Sorry, I don't know if I am spelling those names right but they are very hard workers and seem like they try hard to care for the residents :). My 97 year mom finally can call Emerald her home. I can leave mom with the professional staff at the Emerald. Thank you to the caregiving staff - Myelene, Emelee, Jocelyn, Carolina, Diana, and many more. The care & consistency my mom receives has made her a happy resident and gives me a peace of mind to leave her in the staff good caring hands. Michelle, the activity director, has continually entertained the residents with fun & creativity. The receptionists are always warm and welcoming! The facility is clean and & inviting -- I love visiting mom and talking to the residents & staff!

Emerald Valley is a beautiful community with the best team providing care and serving the residents who live there. The food is incredible. Residents have creative activities and opportunities to live their lives with purpose. The apartments are very spacious, the community is well taken care of.

The facility is very nice, and one of the more affordable ones in the area. It’s modern and very light, with a nice dining room, activity room, and common area with a welcoming fireplace. The rooms are also good; high ceilings, nice windows, and comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful. They have a good range of activities and movies, and have started actively seeking resident input on what they’d like. A few downsides, which are more annoying than real concerns. There have been times when responses to residents pressing their help buttons have been delayed, at least according to my mother. There has also been a lot of staff turnover. I don’t know if that’s typical, associated with the current economy, or due to the recent change of ownership. Finally, communications with families can be an issue; we sometimes either don’t hear about events, or hear about them on very short notice.

We had to put my Mom into an Assisted Living Facility last month. We found Emerald Valley in Dublin and after our first visit I knew that this was the perfect place for Mom. The place has a look and feel of a nice Condo. My Mom has a very nice room with a little kitchen area. However, with the 3 meals that they offer in the main dining room, she never uses her kitchen. She has made some really nice friends in the short time that she has been there. The staff is very friendly and professional. My Mom was very apprehensive about moving to a place like this, but she has fit in very nice. They have plenty of activities such as exercises and social events. I would recommend Emerald Valley in Dublin to anyone.

There’s nothing bad that I can say about Emerald Valley Senior Living. The residents are welcoming and fun to congregate with. The premises are always kept in pristine condition and the team members are exceptional. Each and every team member has their own unique quality and ensures the security , comfort and happiness for all residents.

My mother was at MBK memory care for about 9 months. I had moved her from Sunrise in Pleasanton. The move from Sunrise (she had been there 3 years) was made because of the change in management. I watched as the place deteriorated and the employees became more and more unhappy, unappreciated and overworked. I mention this because in March of 2023 management changed at MBK (it was Elegance of Dublin). I started to notice things head in the same direction as Sunrise did. I saw the same problems starting there as I did at Sunrise. You should be aware that I visited my mother almost everyday. During COVID I sat outside her window (this was at Sunrise) I was able to see and hear a lot because I was a regular 'fixture' at there and at MBK. I could not recommend MBK at this time. When I called their corporate offices to speak to the Senior Vice President of Operations (Michael Bardelmeir) on a Friday afternoon about a concern I had I did not hear back until the following Tuesday and the call was returned by the Vice President of SALES AND MARKETING. Who has a sales and marketing person return a call to a residents family member that has a concern ? It was at that moment I realized I would have to start looking for another place. There is ONE thing that I want to be sure to say. There were MANY VERY WONDERFUL people working at MBK. One of the shinning stars there was Oana. There were a few others that were with me when my Mother passed in July. The only reason I was still there at that time was because of people like Oana. I cannot recommend MBK until they take a long hard look at their operation and put management there that cares about their employees and their residents FIRST. If they did that they would have a waiting list to get in.

We recently had to find assisted living for my mom quickly. We checked out a few places but knew right away that Emerald Valley would be the right choice. The atmosphere was bright and refreshing and the staff was warm and welcoming. Most importantly in our initial visits, the staff and management were compassionate and spent a lot of time with us to help us understand the transition process ahead of us. After my mom chose Emerald Valley, they made the move easy and smooth, and they took time to get to know my mom's needs and preferences. Now that she is settled in, she feels at home with her new neighbors and friends, she is delighted with the staff and care, she enjoys the many choices of activities, and often talks about how great the food is! I value the open door policy with the medical and care staff or even with executive director if I need it. The team is always available to answer questions, discuss concerns, provide updates, and they were willing and able to help me navigate the new world of senior care. They genuinely care about not only the residents, but also the families. I recommend Emerald Valley to anyone looking for a warm, professional, and caring environment for their loved ones.

My stepmom has been living in Emerald Valley for two months now and we could not be happier with the decision! She is so much happier being around the friendly residents and loves the food. The activities and outings are great, too. The staff including Marissa, Oana, Jasmine, Rusty, and Brandie to name a few have been amazing. So helpful and friendly always willing to help and answer my many questions. Finding the right assisted living place took a lot of time and research but we know for sure we chose the right place.

The community offers several models of apartments ranging from studio to 2 bedrooms and offers assisted living and memory support. The team at Dublin are warm and caring and make it feel homey and vibrant at the same time.

The team at Elegance at Dublin is truly outstanding. Jennifer the head waitress stays calm, cool, and collected no matter how busy the dining room gets. Angel is a Med Tech who greets residents with a smile and hug when giving out medications. Imelda is an incredible advocate for the needs of residents in our memory care community. Chefs Rusty and Fran always go the extra mile working through holidays and ensuring meals are healthy and delicious. The caregiving team is kind patient and thorough, residents always look their best. The directors work tirelessly providing a luxurious yet homey environment and always pitch in to help wherever needed. It is a joy to be part of this incredible community!

Elegance is truly a comfortable way to live out your retirement years! Everything from the wine bar, to the on-site salon and chef-created menus in the restaurant are all so well thought out. Not to mention the staff there I know whole-heartedly care about the residents and providing a hospitable, warm, and supportive place to live. As the name suggests, Elegance is a great place for our seniors to live in style. It also has amazing views and the best part is that the management team truly cares.
