We moved our mother and father into a new room at Sunrise back in mid 2022. The room was very nice and we were able to set it up to look and feel like home for them. The Sunrise staff and location provided a very comforting and safe environment for them. While the living space was important, there were other things to consider when choosing an assisted living facility such as the staff and activities. Sunrise of Danville checked all of the boxes. Our mother passed away in November of 2023, but we kept our father in the same room for continuity. The staff was very caring and treated us like family. Unfortunately, our father became a fall risk about 6 months ago. Between this risk and his short term memory issues, we realized that he really didn't belong in an assisted living facility anymore. We needed a smaller setting with an open door requirement that also allowed us to put railed on his bed. When we made the decision to move him, Sunrise made the entire process as seamless as possible for us. I can't say enough good things about this location, the staff, and the management. I highly recommend Sunrise of Danville if you have a parent or parents who could benefit from an assisted living facility. We did our research before moving our parents and once our parents were living there, we knew we had made the right decision for them!

I visited Sunrise of Danville a number of times and this is an extremely nice senior community. The staff are all very nice and helpful. I had a tour of the community and it's units. My highlight was the courtyard area and its community in general. It's a very nice community, small and friendly that I would consider moving into.

I help out one of the residents at Sunrise each week. I have been able to observe how Sunrise is run and that is why I gave it 5 stars. If I had a parent who needed more care, I would definitely choose Sunrise. The staff is professional & caring. I have seen staff take care of the residents as if they were taking care of their own parent. The activities are engaging & fun. From Bingo to bringing in entertainment, exercise class, arts & crafts & more. If you are spiritual or religious, they bring church to you & they have some wonderful, inspiring speakers. They are festive & always decorating for holidays. They make the place warm & inviting. They have a walking club, book club & a lunch bunch where they go out and try different restaurants in the area. It is clean & the food is top notch. I highly recommend Sunrise Assisted Living in Danville!

My husband recently moved to Sunrise of Danville and all of the residents and staff are really nice. We are happy we happy we found this place. activities are good with live music. Singing Messengers even came. My husband also likes the bus trips. You should come and see too.

I brought my mom on a tour not long ago and there was an angel name Sonya Currie - I'm not sure how long she's been there but, I formerly had an extended family member transfer from this location under different management and now that my mom needs the memory care help I decided to do a visit and after touring, talking and Sonya sharing her personal experiences with her parents and patience I knew I could trust her with my mom. It's been a couple months now and my mom is more vibrant than before and anytime I call I ask to speak with Sonya because she has a way of making you feel comfortable trusting sunrise with the most valuable person in my life. Thank you and God bless you for being our superhero.

As a senior care professional, I visit communities all over the Bay area. What I love about Sunrise Danville is that it is so much more than a beautiful community. It really feels like home. The staff and residents are so welcoming and friendly. You are always greeted with a genuine smile. There are always fun activities but no pressure to participate. Like home, you feel totally comfortable whether you are all dressed up or just want to relax in your favorite sweatshirt. When you are here, you are with family. When I am done with a long day of work, I want to relax and be myself and this is a place everyone can do just that. Did I mention the food is fabulous, the staff is caring, the apartments are spacious and the courtyard is beautiful? Your wants and needs are catered to like being on a cruise but in the comfort of your own home.

My profession is business development for a home health/hospice agency. I call on assisted living facilities all day every day, so I've seen them all and we have had patients at most. Sunrise Danville is one of my favorites. As soon as you pull up to the property you know it is well cared for with manicured grounds and good curb appeal. Then you enter into the foyer and are greeted by friendly faces at reception. I have yet to come across any staff member here who is less passionate about the work they do here. The facility feels light and airy with high ceilings. I also notice how clean and fresh everything feels. I am impressed by the calendar of events with activities for every interest you can imagine from church services to crafts to music to fitness. The food looks really great, too. As my family ages, and ALFs are becoming topic of our discussion, Sunrise is one my favorites and I'd be confident in the care offered here in such a lovely environment.

I moved my mother from a skilled nursing facility to Sunrise of Danville. My mother requires a high level of care and Sunrise staff have been excellent at addressing her complex needs. She is very well cared for. April Ordiway, the Marketing Director, is AWESOME and has made the complex move (because of my mother’s needs) as smooth as possible. Sunrise of Danville is a fantastic place for my mother and we are so happy she is there with caring caregivers.

My mother-in-law (Rose) loves Sunrise in Danville. She has discovered her second act and is living it at Sunrise. Seriously, the staff is professional and caring, the residents are a delight and daily activities are super fun and never mundane. If fact, our loved one can't wait for the daily event schedule to see what adventures await her. Since arriving at Sunrise she is more expressive and mobile. So, if you were thinking senior living is just needlepoint, hard candies and naps...you couldn't be further from the truth. My mother and her small dog lived here for a year and a half. She was hesitant to leave her home but ended up saying "I just love it here!" She took part in most of the activities which she loved, made friends and felt well cared for. I learned to schedule my visits around beach volleyball or happy hour as she didn't want to miss them! She thought it was fabulous that she no longer had to do her own laundry or make her bed and looked forward to meals with friends in the dining room. I loved that even if mom had a sniffle the nurse would call me and let me know if mom wasn't feeling 100%. Mom knew she could ask any of the staff to help her without feeling like she was bothering them. I am also a home health provider and visit other local assisted living facilities. I chose Sunrise over other options because it is a smaller facility that truly gets to know their residents and would be able to keep a close eye on mom. I got to visit mom because I wanted to see her and not because I had to check up on the facility to make sure mom was getting good care.

When the time came to move my elder aunt from Florida to California, Sunrise of Danville was one of four properties we visited. Not only is the community welcoming and active, the setting peaceful and based in a residential community, the property also presented a very well maintained facility with staffing the felt more like "family" than aids. Plus the resident dog and cat just sealed the deal.

Sunrise does an amazing job caring for people with memory issues. We don't have the patience that they do on a daily basis. My mother-in-law fought us and people at the facilitiy tooth and nail with quite a vocal mouth her first two weeks. The staff was amazing with making her feel welcome and helping her adjust. She has been there 2 1/2 years now and loves it, loves the routine and the activities. I'm not sure why one review said there wasn't enough food. They go out of there way to assist residents and have plenty of food, will deliver trays to your room if you don't feel like going down for a meal and have snacks and drinks 24/7 for residents and there guests downstairs at the bar. They will also provide food when asked and have beautiful events that include family members. I would encourage anyone who has a loved one developing memory issues to move here. The staff is terrific friendly, caring and know how to deal with residents who all have different needs and levels of care. We are very fortunate to have a wonderful place like this for our mom.

The staff here are great. Very professional and caring. It is a big place with high ceilings, lots of natural light, and a beautiful garden in the back. The rooms are a bit small, but not so much that they feel cramped. The high ceilings help with this. The caregivers do a good job of balancing looking after the residents while giving them the independence to choose which activities they want to participate in. The meals are good, with several choices that vary each day. They offer exercise classes, a movie every night, basic computer training, group walks, games, etc.

The family is very happy with the amount of care my father in law is getting here. He seems to have adjusted well and is happy. Everyone has been so great between the staff and the other residents. He seems to be eating better than before and he likes the food which is an improvement for him. We would recommend the community.
