When we first came to look at Sunrise we felt welcomed and cared about and all questions were answered. What struck us first was how happy the residents were. We were stopped by a couple ladies who gave us the thumbs up about the place. I looked at quite a few places and decided this was the spot to move my mother into. It has a homey and warm feeling upon entering and is small enough that all the staff know the residents and their family by name. Since moving mom into Sunrise of Danville, I could not have found a better place to put her. They have taken great care of her and I never worry about her wellbeing and safety. She is really spoiled here ant Sunrise and treated with respect and love. When first coming we were afraid she wouldn’t stay but over time she grew to like everyone here and loves the facility. I will be forever grateful to the front desk ladies, the nursing staff and caretakers, the cleaning staff and especially to Tiara, Abbie and Ann for all being right there to address any concern or issue I have with a smile. I highly recommend checking out this facility.

From the management to the caregivers, we have nothing but positive things to say. The caregivers are incredibly caring, loving, and attentive”truly the best we’ve ever met. The medication staff is wonderful and extremely knowledgeable, often knowing more than the on-duty nurses. The billing administrator is always friendly and cheerful, and she goes out of her way to help us with any billing questions, ensuring everything gets sorted quickly. The Executive Director is always up to date with community happenings and is just as friendly. Every time we visit, we leave with a smile, knowing our loved ones are in great hands.

When your loved one is healthy and fine, this is a fine place to be. The grounds are nice, they run activities, and our dad really liked the food. The caregivers who attended to him were caring and attentive; it cannot be an easy job and they do it with grace and care. But the administration was difficult to communicate with as our father's health declined, especially after there was a shift in leadership a few months ago. It felt like we had to constantly reach out to them and ask them to follow up and be in touch. At the end, we primarily relied on hospice, not Sunrise, to coordinate communication and offer compassionate advice. I also want to mention that the saleswoman who sold us on Sunrise gave us incorrect information about we would be reimbursed from long-term care. She had "calculated" right in front of us, with pen and paper, that there would be no out of pocket cost for being at Sunrise. But she was wrong. LTC insurance only covers the nursing services. If we had not sold our parents' house in time, we would not have been able to pay for him to stay at Sunrise for as long as we did. Be aware and always check with your own LTC provider.

There are so many good things about this place. The staff has been very responsive to my 90+ mother's needs for her extended health respite stay. A number of the other clients are also on health respite stays, and all that I have talked to are very happy with the services here. Three staff members deserve mention: Taira has been so wonderful in providing support for move-in and on-going care needs. She always responded very promptly to our many questions. Ann, business office coordinator, has been very helpful and patient at providing financial information support. Brian, transport driver, deserves the unsung hero award. He is always very pleasant in providing transport for my mother's many medical needs. He also does an amazing job at coordinating multiple client rides at the same time. Also I love the tiered levels of services to customize for the level of care needed, allowing you to pay only for the care used.

Staff members take great care of his needs, and his medications. The staff also get high marks for communicating with our family about his care. We moved our mother and father into a new room at Sunrise back in mid 2022. The room was very nice and we were able to set it up to look and feel like home for them. The Sunrise staff and location provided a very comforting and safe environment for them. While the living space was important, there were other things to consider when choosing an assisted living facility such as the staff and activities. Sunrise of Danville checked all of the boxes. Our mother passed away in November of 2023, but we kept our father in the same room for continuity. The staff was very caring and treated us like family. Unfortunately, our father became a fall risk about 6 months ago. Between this risk and his short term memory issues, we realized that he really didn't belong in an assisted living facility anymore. We needed a smaller setting with an open door requirement that also allowed us to put railed on his bed. When we made the decision to move him, Sunrise made the entire process as seamless as possible for us. I can't say enough good things about this location, the staff, and the management. I highly recommend Sunrise of Danville if you have a parent or parents who could benefit from an assisted living facility. We did our research before moving our parents and once our parents were living there, we knew we had made the right decision for them!

I moved my stepmom to Sunrise due to safety concerns at another facility. Sunrise has kept my stepmom safe and very well cared for. They communicate clearly what is happening with her care, make adjustments when needed, and take responsibility when there is a mishap (don't worry, they take great care of residents -- we're all human and life doesn't tend to go perfectly). Marie has been fantastic with communication and compassion. Kirsten has been really helpful, responsive and has even been known to step into other roles to make sure things run smoothly!

From Bingo to bringing in entertainment, exercise class, arts & crafts & more. If you are spiritual or religious, they bring church to you & they have some wonderful, inspiring speakers. As a senior care professional, I visit communities all over the Bay area. What I love about Sunrise Danville is that it is so much more than a beautiful community. It really feels like home. The staff and residents are so welcoming and friendly. You are always greeted with a genuine smile. There are always fun activities but no pressure to participate. Like home, you feel totally comfortable whether you are all dressed up or just want to relax in your favorite sweatshirt. When you are here, you are with family. When I am done with a long day of work, I want to relax and be myself and this is a place everyone can do just that. Did I mention the food is fabulous, the staff is caring, the apartments are spacious and the courtyard is beautiful? Your wants and needs are catered to like being on a cruise but in the comfort of your own home.

My mother and her small dog lived here for a year and a half. She was hesitant to leave her home but ended up saying "I just love it here!" She took part in most of the activities which she loved, made friends and felt well cared for. I learned to schedule my visits around beach volleyball or happy hour as she didn't want to miss them! She thought it was fabulous that she no longer had to do her own laundry or make her bed and looked forward to meals with friends in the dining room. I loved that even if mom had a sniffle the nurse would call me and let me know if mom wasn't feeling 100%. Mom knew she could ask any of the staff to help her without feeling like she was bothering them. I am also a home health provider and visit other local assisted living facilities. I chose Sunrise over other options because it is a smaller facility that truly gets to know their residents and would be able to keep a close eye on mom. I got to visit mom because I wanted to see her and not because I had to check up on the facility to make sure mom was getting good care.

I moved my mother from a skilled nursing facility to Sunrise of Danville. My mother requires a high level of care and Sunrise staff have been excellent at addressing her complex needs. She is very well cared for. April Ordiway, the Marketing Director, is AWESOME and has made the complex move (because of my mother’s needs) as smooth as possible. Sunrise of Danville is a fantastic place for my mother and we are so happy she is there with caring caregivers.

Everyone on staff is so friendly, caring and patient. They’re very responsive to questions we family members may have and are great about letting us know when there are updates about my mom. My profession is business development for a home health/hospice agency. I call on assisted living facilities all day every day, so I’ve seen them all and we have had patients at most. Sunrise Danville is one of my favorites. As soon as you pull up to the property you know it is well cared for with manicured grounds and good curb appeal. Then you enter into the foyer and are greeted by friendly faces at reception. I have yet to come across any staff member here who is less passionate about the work they do here. The facility feels light and airy with high ceilings. I also notice how clean and fresh everything feels. I am impressed by the calendar of events with activities for every interest you can imagine from church services to crafts to music to fitness. The food looks really great, too. As my family ages, and ALFs are becoming topic of our discussion, Sunrise is one my favorites and I’d be confident in the care offered here in such a lovely environment.
