I do have to highlight the dining department; the food tastes and presents like a 5 star restaurant. It’s just delicious. All of the staff I met were so professional and friendly. From the minute Dulsey gives a tour at Crown Cove-Move in day and beyond, the staff is always friendly. I am seldom moved to write a review but I want everyone facing the tough realities of choosing a memory care facility to know how sure I am that Crown Cove is a wise choice, as it was for my father until he passed recently. First, you will be able to see immediately that the physical facility itself is first rate, with views of the Pacific Ocean from porches and a secure dedicated and lovely outdoor garden area for memory care, connected to a homey activities area. But I want to highlight a couple aspects that aren’t so readily apparent. Memory Care has its own dining room. Having dined with or observed my father many times, I know the food is proportioned well, beautifully presented and very tasty. That alone is more than we experienced at a premier facility elsewhere. The biggest difference, though, is that every staff member involved in the meal was familiar with my father and his likes and dislikes. They would make sure he had his preferred seat. They hustled over with a first course of soup because they learned that was his favorite start to a meal. And they all knew about his sweet tooth. I can confidently say that he was treated like a special uncle, with warmth, consideration and kindness, even when he was grumpy. Nothing institutional about it! And I saw the staff take the same caring attitude to everyone else in the room. As often happens with a memory loss, my father could become obstinate. Our experience before transitioning to Crown Cove from another state was that the CNA would give up, shrug, saunter out of the room and say he or she would try later. Wow, what a difference at Crown Cove. I’ll never forget watching Thomas, the Memory Care Director, or Del and the other staff members, effortlessly transition to other approaches and techniques of distraction or encouragement. By doing so, they kept my father hygienic and happy and preserved his dignity. And they did all this with smiles and reassurances to us that they accepted and understood his behavior and cared about my father. You can’t measure it, but Crown Cove’s cup is overflowing with that special something that tells you this community genuinely cares about its people and appreciates the special joys and sorrows of those with memory loss.

From our first tour, to move in, and continuing now, day to day, the Crown Cove staff have been extraordinarily supportive. From the moment my elderly parents stepped foot into Crown Cove, it felt like a warm embrace from family. The care they received was not just professional, but deeply personal. Recently, we experienced the loss of my father, and Crown Cove's team handled every aspect with grace and compassion. Tomas, the Memory Care director, was a pillar of support during this difficult time, and he goes above and beyond in doing anything he can to support all the residents in his care. The rest of the caretaking staff (like Del and Libia) were so accommodating to our family, ensuring that our focus remained on healing and cherishing memories after the loss. Crown Cove truly redefines senior living; it's more akin to resort living than what you see at other facilities we originally toured. The daily activities very much keep my mother (who has dementia/alzsheimers) stimulated and engaged, and Dave is a really great guy who truly cares about bringing joy and entertainment to the residents. I can't recommend Crown Cove highly enough to anyone seeking a nurturing home for their loved ones. Thank you, Crown Cove, for becoming an extension of our family and providing unparalleled care.

Our mother has been living at Crown Cove since January 2023. We originally chose Crown Cove because they would assist her from Memory Care to the dining room and activities to socialize with a variety of residents and continue to support her very social personality. We have been enormously happy with this important feature that requires them to go above and beyond for her to continue satisfaction in her daily life. She loves meeting with the other residents and staff! Additionally, although it is difficult to evaluate an atmosphere when one is only there to visit for short times, I frequently hear from my mom how the staff is so kind. This of course is always a family’s concern especially in memory care but I am convinced the staff is wonderful, gentle, patient, and kind to our mom from the house cleaning, aids, maintenance, reception, dining, greeters, to the administrators. Crown Cove worked hard to find an excellent manager for the memory care floor and they found what was needed to coordinate care on that complicated floor. Thomas is caring, intelligent, a good communicator, and works hard helping to tie all the care for our mom together between medications and activities. We appreciate his hard work and availability in making challenging changes in health and needs as smooth as possible. We are very grateful for everyone’s gentle care and going support at Crown Cove! And in addition to all that, it is a beautiful facility, very clean, with lovely decoration and magnificent view! We are very happy to have discovered Crown Cove!

I moved my mom from Kansas to Huntington Beach to live with me for a couple of years. After increased memory issues and an official diagnoses of vascular dementia, I realized my mom was not getting the life-giving experiences she needed and desired and I was developing health issues in my own life. We visited 4 other well-known AL/Memory Care residences in the Orange County area. They were fine, but when I called Crown Cove, Sausha was very warm, personal, and understanding of our needs for mom and for myself. Soon after that phone call, we toured the residence; it was markedly different than the others. The staff interacted with each other like a family. I heard them call the residents by name when we passed them in the hall and when we rode the elevator. When we dined, the staff knew everyone by name and even what many of them preferred in the little things. The staff interacted with each other positively and fondly. The beauty of the residence is remarkable. Ocean and gulch panoramic views, cozy niches to sit and take in the views, and it's colors and design reminded me of my mom's home. It is beautiful, peaceful, and smells like someone's home...pleasant, good cooking, fireplace is on, and residents are sitting and playing or sipping or chatting. The transition has been smooth for mom, not perfect, but smooth. It took me a bit to figure out the way to communicate with the staff when something was needed. She has regained some independence, the opportunity to choose her daily activities, and opportunities for stimulating conversations around the dining table as well as the parlor presentations. I have been challenging to deal with by the staff because it's an adjustment for me to let go. They have been patient with me as I have adjusted. My mom was on a schedule, running a business for over 65 years. She gets up every morning and heads to the front desk to pick up the schedule of activities and participates in scenic drives, target shopping, sipping a shake at Ruby's Diner, having a picnic at a park. I've joined in playing Bocce Ball on occasion. When I go to visit I usually have to find her because she is with residents and involved in an activity. Her studio apartment is lovely, well appointed and bright- with ocean view. Lastly, Crown Cove is not a corporate /institutionalized vibe. They care more about the people than red tape and departments that operate like silos. If you are looking for a home filled with human and imperfect caring people, this is the place. Everyone from Program Director to Housekeeping and Laundry are pleasant and kind. My mom says, "I've never been anywhere where the staff cares as much as these do." (She has lots of experience as a caregiver with her parents and her husband ) While it's not perfect, it's perfectly suited for my mom and her happiness and that's the ultimate test. I am very happy and at peace with Crown Cove for my mom.

Fantastic environment! Incredible ocean view! We had a tour today and we were amazed by how organized this facility was. The seniors are very happy and friendly and the staff goes out of their way to make sure everyone is taken care of in a professional and friendly manner. The Community Life Director Andrea goes above and beyond for the residents!! Highly recommend!!

What a lovely facility! I had the pleasure of bringing my dogs to Crown Cove for Pet Therapy. It was such an enjoyable visit! The facility is clean and welcoming, the staff are friendly and engaging to both visitors and residents. I saw such kindness from the staff towards the residents and the residents were happy and engaging. I enjoyed chatting with the residents and they all loved having the dogs visit. Even the residents that appeared not interested actually smiled once the dogs approached them and they had the opportunity to interact. Thank you for inviting Paws To Share to your facility today. We just moved my father in 1.5 weeks ago and I wanted to share my wonderful experience thus far. My father has early onset Alzheimer’s and it came time that he was no longer safe to live on his own. I have two very young children and am a working mother, so taking him in my home was not a good or safe option for anyone. After making the very difficult decision to place him in a home, the hunt began for a facility. I was originally set on a board and care as I was having trouble finding a memory care unit that would allow residents that are in the moderate stages of Alzheimer’s to freely go to the assisted living amenities. I spoke with Donlyn Young at Seniorly who was very attentive to my wants and my dads needs and unique situation. She knew about every board and care in the Newport area and knew which ones would be appropriate for my father. She eventually referred me to Crown Cove, and I am forever grateful! I would have never looked at this facility since I would committed to a board and care but once I saw the images, I was intrigued to look into it further. After they assessed my father and reassured me that he would be able to go to the assisted living side daily, I knew this was the place. Not only is the facility absolutely stunning with an incredible ocean view, the staff are so attentive and personal. I began my first tour of the faculty with the sales director, JP, who is professional and makes you feel extremely comfortable. He was comforting to my looming anxiety about the official move in date with my father, and JP even came in on his day off to be there as support during our transition. I cannot speak highly enough of him and his team! My father had a rough first few days (understandably), but the executive director, the nursing director, sales director, and memory care director were all involved in the process of his transition and ensured that it went as smoothly as possible. The memory care director even gave me her phone number so I could text/call for updates which eased my anxiety. Every time I speak to my dad he is in great spirits. After about a week I could hear joy in his voice that I haven’t heard in years. My father even told me that he is treated like a King! The amount of activities they have him involved in daily and the amount of socialization he receives is doing wonders for him. He always compliments the caregivers and even said that one of them is like a sister to him. I love being able to rest assured that he is in good hands and in a safe environment. They encourage independence as much as safely possible, which I also appreciate. My dad is still capable of verbalizing most wants and needs and they are there to lovingly guide him in the right direction. I feel so good about my decision to place my father at Crown Cove, I hope my kids place me here when I’m needing assistance later in life too LOL

What a fantastic time at Crown Cove! I was supporting the building for much of quarter four in 2022 and there has been such a positive shift in the community! There is a fabulous new team in place and Carrie is doing a great job creating a five-star culture where our residents thrive. The food is delicious (thank you, Kasan!) and the renovations are beautiful! Crown Cove is actively resetting and is looking at a bright 2023!
