My wife was transferred from Scripps Encinitas hospital to Berkshire Carlsbad. We received high quality support through the entire process. The staff from both facilities did all the work. My wife is well caredf for. I know firsthand, as I am with her two to three times a day. My wife is typically fussy about food. She has eaten most all of meals. Berkshire is an excellent skilled nursing facility.

Excellent care !! We are so grateful to Bayshire for helping our dad. They have a wonderful staff - ALEXIS is incredible!!She is so personable and caring-a very special soul who is wonderful with seniors and dealing with all types of personalities-she is resilient and has compassion, empathy,kindness and FUN!! The nurses here have all been incredible-i cannot think of every name- but SAM and Arturo both so caring and compassionate -all these nurses have been so kind and super special.The manager is super cool and checks in and is really wonderful.

In 2019, i had a medical event, & after a few days in hospital I was transfered here to Bayshire Carlsbad, at that point it was called Brookdale.Now, I am again going to need skilled nursing & rehabilitation, and this the 1st place I am inquiring about. I LOVED my stay here, now named Bayshire, I found the staff all so nice, accommodating, polite, ho oracle, & patient. The kind care that someone needs, the kind & uplifting care that brings one's health & spirit back up to re-enter the world. The re-hab therapists are A-rated, excellent, & one last remarkable positive, is their chef(s) is amazing! The food is so delicious! All of my experience was wonderfully healing, & memorable! I will always recommend Bayshire Carlsbad!

This is not the place for everyone. My mother can be difficult. I thought her complaints were over stated until we had to move her and I had to deal with the administrative staff. [name removed] definitely had an issue with my mother and decided that they could not care for her. It was definitely a personality conflict. I asked several times what the process was to move out. And could we get her medication and prescriptions before we left, so she could be cared for until we established a new doctor. I received no help and no response on the procedures. The elevator was broken down when we were trying to move out , the prescriptions were not given to us, and their doctor refused to cooperate. When we moved her furniture, there was mold all over the wall. For 8 thousand dollars a month, I feel that the care was substandard. In her first month there, she got covid. I think if you are an active person and just want to be social and participate in the events there, it might be the place for you. I would be very careful if you are a private person and want to keep to your apartment. We have since moved her to a board and care facility. It's curious that another previous Bayshire person moved here because her husband found on the floor of her apartment. It's hard to find the right care for your loved ones. I'm writing this just to let you know that it's not the Brochure lifestyle that they promote. I've read several of these reviews, and I actually met a gal at the airport whose mother was there before they changed the name and said it was lovely.

My 89 year old mother, Julia, moved in 3/17/26. Everyone has been very kind. She made friends immediately. Staff and residents are wonderful. Mom says she is really enjoying herself. The place is very clean and tidy. Many things to do. Mom was at another residence and it was no where near as nice as Bayshire. So glad we found them.

My father stayed at Bayshire Carlsbad for 3 months and our family was very pleased with their exceptional help and wonderful staff. The staff is so caring, supportive and we highly recommend them. It was a positive experience. Don’t hesitate to have a family member stay here. Efrain was our first contact and he made us feel welcome and supported us throughout my father’s stay.

An incredibly well-structured organization with an intimate, non-institutional culture driven by a kind, attentive, caring and motivated staff. Everyone is genuinely friendly, from the Executive Director to the Memory Care professionals, the dedicated medtechs and skilled nurses. Furthermore, the kitchen provides a wide variety of quality food served by a friendly staff. The facility is spotless, tastefully decorated with bright spaces and multiple enclosed peaceful patios. Bayshire offers a sense of community and a fabulous entertainment program with multiple and varied daily options led by a warm and energetic activity director. My experience started with a genuinely warm welcome and educational orientation. Their customer service proved to be Best in Class’. We are so thankful and very fortunate that my wife, the children’s mother’s last months of her life were spent at Bayshire Carlsbad.

The staff at BAYSHIRE Carlsbad is outstanding. They work tirelessly to make every resident feel genuinely cared for every day. The front desk personnel are very attentive , one is greeted and welcomed quickly. Praises to all, especially Olah, who makes sure every resident is treated with respect and kindness. He organizes, orchestrates and creates the fun environment of Assisted Living. The staff in the Memory Care are jewels! Their above and beyond love and patience is incredible. I just completed a 20 day day stay at Bayshire Carlsbad after total knee replacement surgery at Tri-City. I'm giving my strongest recommendation for Bayshire Carlsbad. Of all the positive things I can say, the thing that is the most meaningful to me is how much each and all of them cared for me both professionally and personally. I felt cared for. I will always be grateful to the people at Bayshire Carlsbad, for how they cared for me while I was recovering from a painful recovery that was fraught with obstacles. Now I am home and I feel confident that I will complete my recovery and have the best possible outcome I will always remember with fondness the many people who helped me at Bayshire Carlsbad.

My sister was a patient and received substandard care. While there are many fine staff, the care was sporadic. Wrong food often was given that would seriously affect a patient with abdominal surgery. Critical supplies were on backorder. Shower was dirty. Improvements are needed.

Bayshire is the best place for a family member who needs assisted living or skilled nursing. My grandmother lived there and the staff were amazing. They took great care of her and truly cared for the whole family when we came to visit. As a nurse who’s worked in other skilled nursing facilities, I was very impressed. They treat your family members like their own family, so I’m grateful that’s where my grandmother lived in the last couple years of her life.

The fantastic Bayshire Team is the best service you could ask for in a skilled nursing facility. Both of my parents have been there and each of them has received phenomenal care. My Dad was able to walk again and return to living with my Mom in senior living. My Mom recovered from a fall and returned to my Dad. Now my Dad is back and every time we have gone to Bayshire every single person from admissions, to doctors, nurses, medical support team, PT/OT, case managers, cooks, cleaners, maintenance and every single person is filled with love and genuine care for each person there. We are so fortunate to have found Bayshire and our family has been blessed by this team. I highly recommend Bayshire for all of your skilled nursing needs. The CNA'S are lazy... you often have to wait 15-20 minutes to get your call light answered... it's very frustrating when you need to use the bathroom...overall the food is great and the nurses and most CNA'sare attentive however, it only takes a couple of unfortunate events to change your mind.

I had the privilege of completing my clinicals at Bayshire Carlsbad, and I cannot speak highly enough of the experience. The entire staff demonstrated exceptional professionalism and care. Denise, the Dean of Nursing, is a remarkable leader who fosters a supportive and effective learning environment. The CNAs, nurses, and physical therapists all exhibited a high level of expertise and dedication to patient care, making my time there truly invaluable.

My father spent seven weeks at Bayshire Carlsbad. After breaking his hip and undergoing surgery at TriCity Hospital, he was lucky enough to be sent to Bayshire. The building is very impressive and clean. The people providing care are fantastic. The physical therapists worked so gently and carefully. My father recovered very quickly for his age of 90. The doctors, nurses, and CNAs are heroes. I can't believe that such a place exists! Truly a home away from home. Everyone there deserves medals of honor. From the cooking staff to the cleaning crew, everyone gives 100%. The food smells so good and looks delicious. As I stated earlier, the place is so clean and beautiful. I was sad to say goodbye; I had made many friends, from the patients to the hardworking people there!

My father has been at Bayshire for the past 5 years and over that time the wonderful staff has become his second family. I live close by so I am there often and am always greeted with a warm welcome. ALL of the front desk staff are so friendly and kind to visitors and the residents. Olah the Activity Director is amazing. He has actually been able to convince my dad to do more activities than he ever did at his previous facility. Olah also goes above and beyond to plan fabulous events for residents and their families to enjoy. My father has needed additional level of care recently. I am truly grateful to the Medical Staff especially Ariana and Pam for their guidance whenever I have a question. Ariana and Pam keep me informed and have made sure his caregivers are checking on him regularly. It's a blessing to be able to leave your loved one in a place where you know they are being well taken care of and their family loves visiting them!!!

Bayshire has been amazing with my mom! My mom is a positive and independent woman who opened up our flower shop in 1974, 50 years ago. She built the flower shop from the ground up, she was amazing. She now is in her twilight years and needing more assistance. It is not easy for her to accept help with day to day activities. The community and staff at Bayshire have been invaluable to us and to our mother. They care, love and help with her care everyday. We wouldn’t be able to provide the level of care she needed and this is why she moved to Bayshire. The healthcare providers are incredibly kind and patient. They take such good care of the reaidents. It would be nice if, in memory care, clothes were labeled or separated, so that residents are only wearing their own clothes and not other peoples clothing.

Since I have been here I have been treated with kindness and respect. Everyone have been helpful and knowledgeable. The environment is clean and cheerful. I especially like doing the activities with the activity director Cilcilia. We have a great time making flowers and playing games. Amazing in every way! I just wanted to jump on here and thank the Bayshire Carlsbad team for taking such great care of our neighbor. She has had to stay at a few skilled nursing facilities over the years and hands down- this had been her favorite. Outstanding. 5 Star. That's how we would rate our experience at Bayshire"s Skilled Nursing Facility. My wife was admitted and stayed for 5 weeks of rehab after surgery for a fractured hip. Without exception, all of the staff (nurses, CNA's, administrators and support people) were very professional, courteous, respectful and very caring. A special shout out to our case manager Nicole who expertly controlled, coordinated and arranged all of the many elements of our stay, down to finest detail, and with perfect timing, efficiency and compassion. If there is ever a future need for skilled nursing, Bayshire would be first on our list.

Staff friendly. Negatives: my husband lost weight instead of maintaining or gaining. They gave him medications that were not on his list or prescribed for him. Worst of all, he contracted covid while he was there. We were less and less impressed as the days went on.

Great facility for physical therapy and occupational therapy after surgery. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They work hard at getting you ready to go home with confidence. My Dad has had multiple stays at Bayshire SNF. They have always taken amazing care of him. The nursing and care staff are top-notch. The Case Manager Nichole has been amazing with communication and making sure my Dad's needs are met. Admissions Joey and Kaytee do a great job and are very friendly. The medical director Dr. Shali was very good and caring, and the rehab team was outstanding! I would recommend this facility 100%

We had a very good experience with my mother at Bayshore. She fell and fractured her hip. After the hospital she was brought to Bayshire for skilled nursing care. Everyone there was so kind and professional. The staff did a wonderful job of caring for mother. We were happy with all aspects of her stay there.

My husband had a recent 2 month stay at Bayshire, Carlsbad and consequently I was there every day except one for 5-10 hours a day. After advocating as much as I could trying not to step on anyone's toes, my husband's med schedule was followed as best that the nurses could (it was an every 3 hour med schedule). Having witnessed the work that the staff does including nurses, CNAs, PT, OT Speech, kitchen/dining staff, entertainment gals, room cleaners, front desk and management, I can say that Bayshire is a well oiled machine! EVERYONE was amazing trying to accommodate all the patients (and caregivers like myself) on a daily basis. They took the time to teach me how to do what I would need to do once my husband came home. They were encouraging to all the patients lending a. helping hand, giving a hug or pat on the back, kidding with the people, laughing, and creating a positive environment. The staff has to deal with a lot of difficult situations. I only attended to my husband because I wanted to be there for him not because I was spying on the team and I spent whole days doing that running myself ragged! Imagine what the entire staff must do for many more patients than just one! And they did it with a smile regardless of how taxing it might have been or how tired they might have felt. I cried when I knew "we" were leaving. I exchanged numbers with a few of the staff and one CNA even came to our house just to say hi to my husband and to see how he was doing. Without a doubt, this is the absolute best place for your loved one to be at. I get why they were given 5 stars. I would give them 20!!!

I would highly recommend Bayshire Carlsbad. Following my mothers surgery, I toured 5 facilities and chose Bayshire as my favorite for her short term stay and course of physical rehab. The people, the facility and how organized and quick they were in connecting with her case worker at the hospital made it an easy favorite! I spent the entire day with her for a week and watched nurse after nurse care for her with great attitudes and extending the TLC she needed following surgery and in pain. Everyone in our family had the same sentiments as they visited. From day 1 to checkout (almost 5 weeks later) this place did not disappoint.

Broke my hip and femur and was lucky to end up in Bayshire for rehab. The doctor and staff were first rate. And not just with me. I witnessed them treat the truly in-need with endless kindness and compassion -- I felt that I'd stumbled into a nest of angels. Special shout out to Dr. Mark Kyle who's knowledge and bedside manner calmed me though my worst days. And Grace, dedicated, loving and always smiling. Nealani from Social Services who made the overwhelming paperwork make sense. There are many others but I'm embarrassed to say I can't remember names. 🙁 (I deducted one star because the place needs to be undated).

The staff is great and the added help of having the student nurses is a great asset to Bayshire. Thank you for your community involvement with offering a site for Healthcare Academy to come and practice their art of nursing. The ice cream social that was held 6/6/23 was amazing and lit up my auntie face when the students came in. Thank you for a great job.

I was in they're skilled nursing for two weeks recently. I was very impressed. They should rename it Hospital Plus. It was better then any Hospital I've ever been in. The entire staff is very friendly and professional. The physical therapy and the occupational therapy department is top-notch. I highly recommend this facility.

ALL staff is exceptional! But I wanted to give a huge shout out to my aunties Laundry helper Brenda. She is amazing when it comes to her laundry needs. Brenda is also very kind to offer her help with transferring my auntie from her room to the dining room or vise versa. She is the sweetest person and I can see her smile even from behind her mask! Thank you Brenda.

I was there for 22 days. This place is fantastic. First class all the way, thanks to their fabulous staff‘‘ Their Director (Chad Coleman), is superbly in charge. While all staff were excellent, a few stand out in my mind; Dr. Singh, Neolani, Ava, Shannon, & Shondra. If you have to go to a SNF, this is a top choice. Cheers, Walt

Very nice facility. My mother needed to rehab after breaking her hip. My only complaint would be that from time to time the staff was unresponsive to the call button. Other than that the people were friendly, helpful and kind. Thank you for helping my mom get back on her feet.

My grandma is there for rehab. She fractured her neck. The staff there is very helpful, graceful and understanding. Sharlene ( I apologize if I spelled her name wrong) was coming in and checking in all of the time. She really made sure my grandma was taken good care of. I appreciate them all but I really wanted to point her out because she is one if the best helpers (not sure what the job title is) I've seen in places like this. The nurse and doctor also were really nice, understanding and a big help as well. Thank you to all the staff there for taking care of our loved ones when they really need it.

My mother has been with Bayshire a FIVE STAR FACILITY in Carlsbad easily accessible from Carlsbad Village Dr at El Camino Real, for 18 months and is so happy that she moved here. Mom was at a very similar facility for 7.5 years in the Del Mar Heights area. This facility was 4 stars and slowly declined to two stars and then quickly declined to one star. Mom has loved Bayshire from the day she moved in. All the programs entertain her , the food is so much better than other places. Bayshire is very clean and very well cared for. The staff is VERY accessible and is kind. Mom needs the very reliable Bayshire shuttle that can take wheelchair folks to their medical appointments. Bayshire follows the state and county standards set for independent, AL, SNF and memory care. They have been reasonable and efficient about following protocols for COVID. During our time, the Executive Director has changed but all the staff is still here. All the ED have shared their numbers and emails and communicates with families. I recommend Bayshire for their services to their residents, the kindness to guests and families and mostly the respect for all the residents. All of the management teams business cards are at the reception counter, I’m so grateful my mom has moved here. Mgr nurse Pam has been very accessible with moms needs and the AL manager nurse and staff are always available in the health office and answer their phone. The receptionist is VERY friendly and can help direct me to solutions when I need help. Parking up front can be limited. Call the receptionist and they will tell you about optional parking areas.

I did a shift here last week and let me tell you, their is a reason why this place was rated 5 stars. It is clean, organized, and the staff was kind and respectful. They remodeled and repainted the entire Health center, it looks amazing. I was really impressed. As a cna of 10 years, I've seen a lot of facilities in my days, and this place is at the top of the list, right next to Carlsbad By the Sea and Silverado. I would definitely recommend this place to a loved one.
