We appreciate the fast response when Dad kept being hospitalised which was extremely stressful for him. It was time for hospice. Aasta Hospice and Aasta staff provided immediate support and comfort to our Dad. We appreciate Fe Gaviola for her patient care coordinator and all the staff that supported Dad at Aasta Assisted Living in Camarillo. Even now Hospice is here for us to provide comfort for our family after our loss of Dad. We are thankful.

I would just like to say that my cousin was a resident at Royal Gardens, what is now called Aasta Assisted Living facility. Everyone was so nice to her and she enjoyed her stay there. I visited often, and I was happy with the Caregivers that took care of her. The activities were outstanding for the Memory Care patients. Bus trips to Malibu, a senior prom with gowns, Halloween festivities, photo ops, Etc. I am happy and grateful that my cousin spent her last two years of life there!

My Mom is living in the memory care unit, the staff have been very good for the most part. I think most people have an awful time making the decision that they have to place their loved one. My Mom is able to independently walk and feed herself. She was not able to make decisions about what was safe(stoves, walking away, refusing meds, striking out at others). My Dad did everything he possibly could to care for her and if she had let anyone into our home to help we wouldnt have had to place her. We(my Dad and sister) visit EVERY day, what makes a place a dumping ground is how YOU act! If you are looking for a place to where you have no responsibility for your loved one and your guilt is made better because you spend every penny so that youve bought them a replacement family- keep looking elsewhere. If you need a safe place with a staff who are generally decent and caring while helping you care for your loved one, this could be a good place.

This place is a wonderful option for those requiring assistance with care needs and its very affordable. A homelike environment in a park like setting filled by rose gardens, spacious apartments with private patios. Assisted living and memory care services provided. Theres even an outdoor avairy with tons of beautiful birds. Restaurant style dining with many options available at each mealtime. The staff here are very caring and knowledgeable. I highly recommend calling and setting up a tour today!

Care givers are very friendly. Atmosphere is clean. They treat the residents like family. The food is excellent. Activities are fun and easy to engage in. For example, karaoke and music. Service is wonderful. My Dad loves it there and we are so happy about that.

These folks couldn't be more friendly and attempt to make their residents happy. I think their entire facility would benefit from removing all carpeting everywhere - would contribute to a fresher air environment.

We just moved our mom into Dominion Village a few weeks ago. The employees there are so friendly and accommodating. They have really gone above and beyond to make her feel as comfortable as possible. The food is good too! I am so glad we made the decision to go ahead and move her in!

Royal Gardens 903 Carmen Drive Camarillo CA 93010 Attention Management: Please accept this letter of commendation and appreciation on behalf of myself and my family. Your facility is caring for my father and the job your staff is doing is nothing short of amazing. I have been at your facility a couple times over the last 4 weeks and observed the kindness and compassion of each and every staff member, not only for my father but for all their patients. I am a Firefighter-Paramedic and have been to countless care facilities over my 32 year career and have seen some horrible facilities. Your facility is among the best I have seen for patient care and staff kindness and compassion. Kindness and compassion cannot be taught to employees, they either possess it or do not. It is clear that the charge nurse and those that hire, train, and supervise are doing an exceptional job and it is reflected in their employees work ethics and skills. I believe when employees are doing exceptional work they should be recognized, and I strongly feel the entire staff including the front desk and the nursing staff are doing an outstanding job. I cant say enough wonderful things about Royal Gardens. We like that the facility is one floor with lots of beautiful outdoor space the residents can access without the use of elevators. All the staff are helpful, professional and accommodating. They know the residents by name and take an active interest in their welfare. The rooms are kept very clean and are bright and cheerful. At no additional fee they do your laundry, monitor your medications, help with bathing/dressing. There are many activities throughout the day and the staff is very willing to help the residents participate in them. They offer transportation to doctors appointments and have dedicated shopping days. The menu is varied and tasty. This is the second family member we have placed atbRoyal Gardens and continue to be very pleased with this community.

My Mom lived here for 3 years until her death in 2009. She was very well taken care of by the staff in both the Assisted Living and Dementia Care Units. The staff was always friendly, nurturing and very attentive to the details of her care. The Activities staff planned many fun activities for the residents throughout the year. Mom enjoyed her time at Royal Gardens for as long as she could, until her disease prevented her ability to do that anymore. We felt like she was in the right place, even till the very end of her life. Royal Gardens was perfectly adequate for what she needed, not over the top fancy with alot of bells and whistles, but a place that provided the kind of care that she needed most at a fair price.

I am surprised by the negative review from the previous poster. I have always found the staff to be very caring and engaging with both the residents and the family members. Everyone is always welcoming when I come in to visit my Mom and everyone, staff and residents, seem happy and well cared for. My experience has always been positive. It is a beautiful building with good staff. I haven't witnessed anyone being lazy or anyone receiving bad care. I would recommend Meadowview to my friends and family.

Came to Poquoson today to visit my aunt at Dominion Village. We had just finished lunch down the street and was only planning a quick visit. Well my aunt talked me into staying for dinner. One of the nurses overheard me telling her I didnt want to intrude and to my surprise the nurse stuck her head in the door and invited me to stay and convinced me it would be no trouble. I couldnt say no at that point. I sat with my aunt and had a remarkable dinner! She told me the cooks name was Bill and that she really liked him. If he can cook like that I like him too! I had to rush out after we ate since I wasnt planning on staying but I enjoyed my visit and the unexpected meal. Thank you to the nurse that let me know it was ok and to Bill for the awesome grub! And thank you to all that are there taking care of my aunt. She is happy and well cared for. Looking forward to my next visit in a few months.

My parents have both moved into this community and we are very pleased with how things are going for them. The staff has done an excellent job on making sure that both of there needs are being individually met. They have had no complaints about the food and has enjoyed participating in the activities from time to time. Overall I am pleased with how things are going and would defiantly recommend it to anyone interested.

This is a terrific place, my grandparents have lived there for years and love it. The staff is very friendly and caring. I relocated out of state and wanted to move my grandparents closer to me but they are so happy at The Oaks that they wouldn't even consider it. The staff keeps me posted on how they are doing with pictures and phone call updates. I couldn't imagine a better place for them to call HOME!

This is the best place you could hope to find for your loved one, I felt good every time I visited and saw the superior attention my Uncle was given. This is an assisted living facility not a nursing home. Residents are treated very well and with a great deal of respect. Marshall is an outstanding Manager, housekeeping and food are definitely four stars! I couldnt ask for a better place to assist my loved one with his needs. Most every person I met working here has a gift of compassion. The Marshal said he screens his applicants so that he finds these special individuals. My loved one was here for three years and the staff was consistent, the same individuals assisted him the whole time he was there. He developed a relationship with many of them which enriched his life in a wonderful way. He told me They understand my temperament. Thank you Royal Gardens!!!

For two years, Marshall and the caregivers at Royal Gardens provided great care for my Mom, with kindness, patience and good humor. The level of care is set by the resident and their family; from active to assisted living to MCU, they meet the need. We spent time there with her, saw what a difference it made - daily showers, rounding by a nurse every two hours, activities and outings. They are incredible, and a blessing. We tried a number of places before choosing RG. It came down to the staff and management. Do they like their work? Care about the residents? Are professional, happy, good at what they do? Have the resources they need? At the Gardens, they do.

I've worked with Raina, the Executive Director for almost 6 years. My company provides health care for some of her residents at Dominion Village. I love that Raina is 150% committed to her company, her building, her residents and their families and anyone who she comes in contact with. Calling on her professionally is always a joy; she is 'present'. She is available and can be seen all over the facility filling whatever needs there might be. I love working with Raina, and can't imagine Dominion Village without her caring leadership!

My father stayed there for five years plus in the memory unit. Marshall the administrator was fantastic to deal with . He is a prince. All the staff in the memory unit are angles. Doing what they have to do to take care of these adults that are like children is amazing, all at the same time as giving the residents respect. The facilitys are nice. These places are never plan A, at least for the memory unit, but if you have to go, this place did a great job.
