When I fell & broke my hip, it became necessary for my husband & me to promptly find a senior living community. We were pleased with several places but decided on Cogir because the management staff was extremely caring & attentive to our needs. They wanted to know our interests & what activities brought us joy & fulfillment and how it could continue at Cogir. Twenty years ago I founded Kaleidoscope, a non profit 501C3 organization whose mission is to offer connection to people in the community living with cancer. Being a cancer survivor myself & having to give up my teaching career, helping others became my passion. I am pleased to say we LOVE Cogir. This month Cogir became a sponsor to promote breast cancer awareness in our community. THANK YOU COGIR!

My mother moved into Cogir in January and tells her friends and family how much she loves living there. She moved there after a short stay in a rehab facility for several broken bones. She needed assistance for about one month and is now on her own. She is self sufficient yet she knows people are around in case she might need help. My mother loves that she can eat whenever she wants although she does enjoy meeting a group of people at the same time every day. I highly recommend Cogir.

Cogir of Brentwood is a perfect fit for my parents. The Community Director has been a friendly, informative person who has earned our trust. The nurse treats my parents as individuals and addresses their concerns. The Executive Director and staff is friendly. My mom says "this is a cozy place."

my wife and I visited the facility and were very impressed by the quality of the facility as well as the people in management. The operation has changed hands recently and it appears that the new owners are committed to improving every aspect of life at Cogir, not only in modernizing the facility but in expanding the activities offered. We will very seriously consider Cogir when we make the next move in our life.

Excellent staff, good food, comfortable atmosphere and the perfect place for mom. We were headed to the new Merrill property on Balfour Road but Cortona's room availability and size options gave us the comfort mom needed. She can have more of her belongings from home here, making her feel more at home! Win-win!

Recently had the pleasure of touring Cortona Park in Brentwood. What a beautiful facility! From the beautifully manicured grounds as you drive in, to the impeccably maintained common areas as you enter, it feels more like a high-end resort than an independent or assisted living facility. It was refreshing to see that the staff continues to follow stringent safety protocols for its visitors, while still offering a very warm welcome upon both arrival and departure. Edrienne patiently took the time to answer all of my questions and point out the many features and highlights that make Cortona Park stand out. It was my observation that the residents there are very happy and well taken care of. The apartment homes there are immaculate and well-appointed and the staff is very friendly. It is clearly apparent that there is a wonderful sense of community and cohesiveness shared between employees and residents. If you're looking for a comfortable alternative to living alone for either yourself or a loved one, it would be my recommendation to consider Cortona Park.

My Dad moved into Cortona recently and we cant express our gratitude enough to all of the staff that has helped to make him feel comfortable during this transition. It is such a comforting feeling knowing that everyone there is helping to take care of him. We would highly recommend Cortona Park.

I have been involved with Cortona Park over the past 4-5 years, my Mother-in-law was a resident for about 3 years and I recently did a walk through with Edrienne as my Dad was trying to decide to either move to Cortona Park or in with my family at our home. Cortona Park is a great place for seniors, it covers all the basic needs and so many of the enjoyable options anyone would want. There are many activities available and the facility is beautiful and well cared for. The staff is friendly and caring to the residents. If I were at the point of moving into an assisted living facility Cortona Park would be on my list for sure!

When I first checked out Cortona Place I was impressed with how its layout with what seemed to offer a calming atmosphere. Overall, in the two-plus years I have lived here it offers a calming atmosphere, while at the same time allowing me to participate in writing and production of its newsletter, which as sort of an extension of a decades-long journalistic career has become my therapy. As important is that I am in a relationship with a woman whose loving companionship has made getting by during the present pandemic possible.

Edrienne Baebler was patient and kind taking my dad on a tour of Cortona Park. She thoughtfully answered his questions and was reassuring in how the services could be helpful to his wife. We look forward to more visits as we take the next steps. I would like to add that the my dads wife had an incredibly smooth move into Cortona Park due to Edriennes extra efforts. Edrienne went above and beyond in listening and addressing concerns of each person. She followed up on calls and emails immediately. Edrienne is sincere, warm and understanding with everyone.

Absolutely the best community! My dear friend has been there for 3 years. She receives excellent care. The staff are always kind and professional. She is very happy there. Even Edrienne in the sales team checks on her. I am truly impressed by the wonderful care she gets. I will definitely check them out.

I feel so fortunate to have been referred to Edrienne regarding the possibility of placing my mother at Cortona Park. After communicating with her for several days I understand why she was so highly praised! Edrienne has been exceedingly helpful in helping our family select a new residence for our mother. She has given us all of the helpful information we needed responding to our requests and inquiries immediately. Her concern for our mother and for all of our wishes was heartwarming and made us feel extremely comfortable. It is very obvious to us that Edrienne not only loves her job, but she loves the residents at Cortona Park, as well. To quote Edrienne, Helping others is the secret to happiness. I felt her joy!

My mother was a resident of Cortona Park for 7 years 3 months. She entered Cortona as independent living and enjoyed her beautiful apartment, staff, food, and the friends she made along the way. Things changed after she lived there just about a year when she fell in the bathroom and severely shattered her leg. Upon her return after 3 months in skilled nursing rehabilitation she required max point care giving which moved her her from independent to assisted living. In the 7 years she was in Cortona the facility had excessive staff turnover; 3 executive directors came and went, at least 250 caregivers and kitchen workers, and a half dozen Chefs. In that period the one constant has been the LVN medical director, which I believe has been the driver of constant attrition of caregivers who are underpaid, overextended, poorly trained and mis managed . The sad part is that Cortona has hired some really excellent people along the way, most unfortunately dont stay. After 7 years we had to move my 95 year old mother into skilled nursing because 2 new and inexperienced Cortona caregivers dropped my mother on the floor while attempting to get her into the shower, breaking her good leg and reinjuring the leg she broke 6 years earlier; two broken legs. She will be in bed the reminder of her lifetime because of our experience at Cortona Park. My observations are based on my daily presence in Cortona over the 7 years.

My mom lived at Cortona Park for several years. She loved every moment of it. She was active in the community from bowling, games, the knitting group, crafts and many more activities. She went on the outings sponsored by Cortina and enjoyed her weekly shopping trips to her favorite store on the Cortina Bus. She had a full 1 bedroom with her own kitchen to prepare meals but most often ate with friends she made there for lunch and dinner. She moved out of state but cherishes her memories of living at Cortina Park. I appreciated each employee who cared for her as needed and kept me informed of her progresses as needed. Everyone was so kind and friendly.

My mother lived the last 2 years of her life here. It breathed a new found purpose into her soul. She lived every minute of every day taking advantage of every thing Cortona had to offer. Highlights including being an Ambassador and helping new residents fit in. She represented Cortona and had lunch with mayor of Brentwood. She got a lot of people up dancing at their wonderful events. Their director Cheryl is doing a wonderful job of bringing a diversity of entertainments for the residents to enjoy along with offering many activities to get them out of their rooms. The chef, Daniel provides a wonderful offering of meals and entrées that is the highlight of their day. The quality of the food served at this establishment differentiates Cortona from any other retirement facility within a 100 mile radius. He listens to his clients and tries to accomodate their needs and wants while juggling budget and dietary requirements. Not an easy job and he accomplishes it with grace, caring and a smile. The support/wait staff is caring and attentive and patient. They smile and talk with the residents and offer caring hugs and aid when needed. Lisa, the marketing director stays involved with each of them day in and day out as they journey through the rest of their lives. She supports the family of the residents from the beginning to the end. My mother, Barbara Royse called this place home. Thank you Cortona for all that you did to make her final years some of the happiest of her life. Her family will always be grateful.
