Valley Crest – Reviews
January 2023
Visited Valley Crest and it was a good experience. I was welcomed and felt that my concerns and questions were answered.
December 2022
Valley crest was a blast when I volunteered at their car show. They were welcoming and very kind to everyone that showed. Would definitely do again.

Our father was her for 10 months before he passed. The entire staff was amazing! We were welcome any time. There was a lot of communication and they shared pictures of activities. They treated him like one of their own family. Kimberly was so compassionate! Knowing he was being cared for made a difficult situation easier. Words cannot express our gratitude!

I am the Community Relations Director here at Valley Crest, I started working here since Aug 2020 and love coming to work to share each day with our residents and staff. I love to see how our staff cares for the needs of our residents with compassion and loyalty. It is nice to work in a community such as ours with the feeling of having an extended family here.

This facility was home for my Husbands Grandmother for many years. Kimberly is absolutely amazing! She is polite and extremely patient. This facility and staff are so wonderful that after the passing of our grandmother, our grandfather who has been like family to the staff stopped by since he was there daily for 6 years and sat with them to talk about his wife. He even seems to long to be there himself and I can't blame him. This is a beautiful and trusted place for you to know your family is being very well taken care of. I had the pleasure of speaking to Kimberly tonight under a rather strange circumstance, and she was anything but friendly and I truly enjoyed our conversation and catching up! Thank you for all that you do, it's greatly appreciate it!

My family cant say enough about how well our father, Luther, was taken care of. We know he wasnt the easiest resident, but the staff always acted like it was their pleasure to care for him. They were always friendly on the phone and very helpful when we had questions. Our mother knew that her husband was being well taken care of, which took that worry off of her mind. We highly recommend Valley Crest and want to thank EVERYONE for their care and kindness.

The staff of Valley Crest Memory Care have been diligent in their efforts to providing proper care for my mother, during the season of COVID-19. My family and I are grateful for their hard work.

Valley Crest has been a God-send for our family. There are other facilities that look high end. However, that is only one small piece of the puzzle. There is a verse in Proverbs that says, A good name is more desirable that great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold. There are other facilities that may be a bit ‘prettier. But I would much rather have our family at a facility that has a good name and esteems their residents. Every staff member that we have dealt with has been caring AND professional.Valley Crests attention to the details of the life of each of their residents is second to none. When dealing with residents that have memory care needs, the most dignified way to encourage them is meeting each one where they are in the process of cognitive decline. The staff at Valley Crest takes the time to develop a relationship with their residents. They are more than tenants, they treat each one like family. They give each resident the time they need. There is no rush to make everyone comply with cookie-cutter care. They understand each residents basic needs and seek to help them meet those needs in ways that fit each resident. Our family member felt at home from day one.

My grandma has been here for a few months now. She says she likes it and she seems content. Shes a bit bored due to the pandemic restrictions (not their fault) but Im happy I can still visit her. I think shes getting well taken care of. The staff seems really caring and Im happy they were able to take her at this time.

My mom is a resident and I live in Arkansas. I call mom everyday and get to hear her voice but most of all she blows me kisses. So important to me. Thank you staff, love you all.

My husband is a resident at the Valley Crest Memory Care in Apple Valley, CA. He has been there for 11 months now.The staff here are very caring and quite knowledgeable about elder care. There are some who go above and beyond, to see that your loved one is getting the best care possible.I usually try to visit my husband every day and interact with the staff whenever possible. The premises are clean and orderly, unlike some.At first, I was sad that I had to put him in a home but now I am feeling that I made the right decision, choosing Valley Crest!

This is a wonderful community to visit! The love for the residents is known from the moment you walk in the door. Kimberly will welcome you with her amazing smile! They have just finished landscaping the entire outdoor courtyard for the residents, it looks great! Ask for a virtual tour if you are not able to visit in person.

My mother was a resident here for almost 4 years. There were ups and downs but overall she was well taken care of. When problems did arise the facility was quick to fix it. Finding caring staff to care for people with all levels of dementia seems to be an ongoing mission here. The director Kim listens and addresses things head on. Jean and Yolanda are actively trying to make sure residents are engaged and happy. Mark was always a shining star. He held different positions with different responsibilities but was always willing to listen and help. Many of the caregivers treated my mom as a special grandma. It has been over a year since my mom passed and I still think of this place fondly. The bumps in the road will never over shadow the good of Valley Crest.

I visited this facility about a month ago. I just walked in without scheduling an appointment so I was able to get a good sense of how Valley Crest operates without prior notice of a potential move in. I was pleasantly surprised how welcome I was right from the start. The receptionist was very kind and welcoming. At that very moment she was speaking to a confused person who I could tell was one of the people that lived there. The way that she didnt disregard what they were saying, yet welcomed me in at the same time, was quite remarkable. She then let Kimberly know that I was waiting for a tour. At the time Kimberly was in her office with someone else, but the way the receptionist and several others kept me busy and talking while I waited was very pleasing. I could tell that the patients were all busy doing one thing or another. I expected with this being a memory care facility, I would find people stereo-typically drooling in their chairs and staring at the wall. I was impressed that I found the opposite. The patients were busy and all seemed very well cared for. The smell was very pleasing. The facility is rather small but quaint. The rooms are simple, but clean and maintained. We as a family have decided not to place my family member just yet, but when we do, we will be choosing Valley Crest.

Valley Crest Memory Care has a great staff and many interesting activities for their residents. They are often out and about supporting the community as well!
July 2016
My wife has been a resident at Valley Crest Memory Care facility in Apple Valley, California since November of 2015. She had spent all most a year in the hospital or an acute care center for a number of physical ailments. In November I was informed that her 100 days with Medicare will run out and her other insurance would not cover her any more. Due to her inability to walk and her slipping further into dementia I knew I could no longer care for her at home. Over the past few years I have looked at facilities in the high desert to place her in if it became necessary. As it turned out I wisely chose Valley Crest. The first time I visited Valley Crest I could see how well the care givers looked after the residents. At first I was skeptical because the last acute care facility was understaffed and did not give my wife the care I felt she should have received. Within a very short period of time the care givers at Valley Crest set my mind at ease. I was very impressed with the loving care the residents received from the care givers. Taking care of elderly patients is a task in itself and factor in an elderly patient with Alzheimers or Dementia the task becomes even more difficult. I am amazed at the level of loving care the care givers at Valley Crest give to the residents. They never lose their temper at a resident. They seem to be able to calm them down with love and concern. I have seen them both verbally and physically assaulted and still maintain their composure. My wife has received the best of care at Valley Crest. She is always kept clean and well groomed. She always has clean clothes. I do not have the words to express how happy I am with the care she receives at Valley Crest. I would be remise if I did not mention the wonderful ladies that prepare the meals for the residents. Triva Stumbaugh is the Dining Services Director. She is always open to suggestions to make the meals more enjoyable for the residents. They do an outstanding job preparing and serving the meals for the residents. When time permits they assist the care givers in hand feeding the resident who require it. I am always there for the evening meal so I know the meals are well prepared and tasty. Valley Crest has a resident nurse, Melanie Foster. She works long hours to ensure the residents are cared for medically. She works with the med techs and the shift leader (med techs are part of the care giver team) to ensure the medications are current and given at the proper time. She ensures that the care givers check each resident for any problems with their skin daily. If a problem exists she ensures it gets cleared up before it becomes a real problem. She coordinates with doctors for treatment and any other problem that might arise. Her day nominally ends at 4:30pm I have seen her spend an entire night there with a resident. Again I cannot say enough positive things about the care my wife receives at Valley Crest. Valley Crest also has an activitys director, Jean Okumoto. This kind lady always has something going on for the residents. She has arts and crafts for the residents, movies and live entertainment. The residents all enjoy the activities very much. I was also very impressed with Kimberly Jordan the Executive Director and her management staff. Like me most people who walk into Valley Crest for the first time are emotionally unstable due to concern for a love one. Kim and her staff help to calm you down and make you feel at home. I have been to other facilities and have never gotten the feeling of calmness that I did at Valley Crest. Yolanda Smith is the Community Relations Manager. On my second visit to Valley Crest Yolanda took me on a tour of the facility. She pointed out all the features that were important to me. Knowing my concerns she took as much time as needed to ease my mind. All in all every night when I leave Valley Crest even though I would rather have the love of my life at home with me I know she is in very good hands.
