For the past 10 years I have seen the wonderful services provided for Seniors with dementia. Being in the senior care field, when you are trying to find the best match for a loved one with dementia, it can be a stressful and very emotional process. The team at Silverado The Huntington truly helps in making the transition for both, the family and their loved one, a process filled with professionalism, understanding, care, and the knowledge to ease some of the concerns associated with the transition. The Family Ambassador, Stasha Provitt helps guide the process during the initial interaction and really does get to know you and your loved one, becoming a trusted contact and friend once your loved one becomes a resident. Once a resident, Arienne Ghammangne will lead her team of caring nurses and custodial care personnel in ensuring your loved one is receiving the best care possible in a comfortable, safe, homelike environment. All of this wonderful caring service is overseen by the Community Administrator, Rochelle Carpio who leads the community by example, showing all of her residents, family members and staff respect, dignity, and care.

I bought my mother an orchard which I felt represented hope, caring and love to be by her side. I gave this to my mom when she first moved into her the Silverado Huntington memory care facility for Alzheimer's. This group of loving caring team took care of not only my mom's needs, but that of s most intricate family dynamic with dignity and respect to all. As expected, there were a few difficult moments of acclimation, and I took the flower home to try and care for it. I've never been able to keep any orchid alive, so as each beautiful flower withered up and fell off, each seemed to represent a difficult moment in the process of making our mom's life more meaningful and happy, in the face of this horrendous disease. Then, just as I had given up and tried to replant the orchid, I noticed a small bud. Not believing that this would ever become another new beginning for this plant I watched it and as the plant thrived it was in symbiosis with my mom's life and this plant seemed to settle into a positive direction. Then today, it happened. The purple flower I now call "rose" is open and free for all the world to see. My mom is doing well, spends her days busy with activities and has finally found a schedule and a loving environment to live in at Silverado The Huntington Memory Care Facility. It might be coincidence, but I believe that our positive energy we put out into the universe is absorbed all matter around us...even plants. In any event, I shall keep trimming and caring for this plant with love, and have it be my daily reminder that Alzheimer's patients are capable of changing the way they live and have a lot of life still to give. Pam Richman. Proud daughter of Rose Gray
