The Commons Frequently Asked Questions
What is the price for The Commons?
The Commons calculates apartment pricing using the floor plan and unit size. Larger layouts or apartments with unique designs may influence the overall cost. Financial assistance may be available for those who qualify. Call (800) 755-1458 to learn more and receive a customized quote.
Does The Commons take Medicare or Medicaid?
Medicare does not cover senior apartments because they are designed for older adults who can live independently and do not typically provide medical care or assistance with daily living. Medicaid does not directly cover the cost of rent for senior apartments, but some states offer Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waivers that may help with personal care, homemaker services, or medical assistance provided in the home or apartment. Many senior apartment communities also offer income-based rent options or participate in HUD assistance programs to help make housing more affordable. To learn more about available options or to determine eligibility, call (800) 755-1458 to speak with a trained senior advisor for a personalized assessment.

A year ago, my review of Commons was bad… It's improved tremendously with the arrival of a manager who gets things done and perhaps the owner listens to! Service and maintenance have improved. Keep it up! Great Potential, Terrible Management! My review WAS Good, now No More! Recently the complex changed ownership and Everything has gone Downhill quickly. My brother has lived in 1 BR+Den apartment at The Commons for five years. Overall, the location, apartment size, co-located living options available on-site, the building design, secure entries. Now, No service coordinator, Maintenance delayed or non-existent, Services removed. Can't understand why an owner would neglect residents or damage such potential.

Took my mom for visit. Spoke with April. She is wonderful. Everyone is super nice and very friendly. My mom moved into The Commons Active Community back in November 2020. She absolutely loves it. I usually visit her several times a week everyone is super friendly and every resident loves it there. Bre the lady at the desk is very nice. All of the employees are always looking to help each resident. My mom has the cleaning woman come and help her out a couple of times a month her name is Laura she is wonderful and so nice. My mom also has the lunch provided for her it is an extra cost but everyday is something different and looks to be homemade. My mom loves everyone there and so do I also the meals are good and Laura the cleaning lady does a terrific job and is always very friendly. My mom and I love this place.

Very nicely maintained adult apartments. Very walker, wheelchair friendly. Very nice residents. Conveniently located off Memorial Parkway

My dear friend lives at the Cottages and I go there often to visit. He seems to be well taken care of there. They have a large library of books for the residents to choose from, and the meals that I have seen them serve to the residents have been nutritious and filling. The reason they get 4 stars is because of some of the staff have been less than nice to my friend who is in his late stages of life, and is not much for smart mouths on people that he is helping to pay salaries for.

This apartment community is for adults aged 55+. Each apartment has a full kitchen with refrigerator, washer and dryer, and the rent includes all utilities. Mailboxes are inside the building and there is a trash chute so no apartment dumpster to haul to (yay!). There is a community club room with daily activities, large outdoor meeting space, courtyard with walking path, and fitness center. Pets are allowed with an additional deposit. There are usually residents out in the common areas playing cards or dominoes. They are very friendly and enjoy meeting new people taking tours of the apartments.
