I have worked in senior healthcare for over 30yrs. I currently work with dozens of senior health facilities facilitating creative arts programming. The locations range in focus from independent apartments to long term care facilities and park district programs. Some are new and beautiful and you learn quickly that looks aren't everything, care and compassion are what really matters. At first glance this is a little space with a ton of stuff that looks a bit disorganized and cramped, and it might not strike you as "all that". But let me tell you. It is the real thing. From the drivers that do transport to the chair in the directors office that participants can come and "sit a spell and visit" in, it's just what you would most want for your loved one. The staff and director build real connections with each individual in their program. They work to connect individuals with other participants so the whole day for them feels like a hangout with good friends. When I arrived last week there were four tables of folks doing completely different things. A full table of Ladies doing adult coloring books and chatting away. Two other tables were being engaged by staff in games and conversations, and a table of gents were laughing themselves breathless watching a Mr Bean movie they had requested. (They were honestly laughing so hard they had the rest of us laughing with them!) I have been working with this program for a couple years now. Most locations that I go do not prioritize programming and the arts, despite what their brochures claim, and my standard schedule is one a month or a quarter. At Riverwalk, I facilitate a 2hr creative arts program for the entire group every week, every Friday afternoon. I could spend hours telling you about how the staff engages each person, or how they modify their approach based on each individuals needs from moment to moment. I could tell you that it is programs like this that will make it possible for your loved one to live at home longer and still be safe during the day when you have to work, saving you 10s of 1000s of dollars on live in locations where they might wait 40min for someone to answer their call button and get to paint once a month. Or, I could simply tell you this. If my mom were still alive and needed a day program, I would bring her here and rest easy that she was in the best hands each and every day. For HIPAA reasons- I can't post photos, but I have 100s and all the happy faces tells you all you need to know.

Riverwalk Adult Day Services is AMAZING!!! My sister is a participant who truly enjoys and looks forward to her every day there with great friends & caring staff. She enjoys so many wonderful and fun activities that keep her so engaged, happy and full of purpose. Some of her favorite activities include bingo, lunch w friends and painting on art day. Her collection of beautiful art work from Riverwalk is displayed all around our home. Riverwalk Adult Day Services has been a true blessing for my sister and our family. I highly recommend this center to any family considering it for a loved one. The staff is so attentive and so caring.. they are family!

Everyone was so easy to work with. I followed diane the nurse to learn how to take care of the senior population and how to work with them. I would definitely recommend sending your parents over there if they need those services

There are several things that this business does well. They do many activities and have a nurse in the building. They give him fresh food every day. And you can go full time or part time. It is in the center of Naperville, not far from the other cities. They are very good people and are doing a lot for our elderly and special needs community. Riverwalk adult day care staff - Thank you
