For the past 4 years my Mom was very well taken care of here. She passed last week and the caregivers are grieving almost as much as I am. They treated Mom like their own grandma. Med management, food preparation, hygiene care and interaction with their residents is wonderful. They strive to make them comfortable while allowing the residents as much independence as possible. If you are looking for a safe, clean and loving home for your loved one, this is the place.

We give Young at Heart a 5+ rating. Our brother received excellent care for the 14 months he was at this Adult Family Home. Eugene and Natela were professional, kind and thorough. They served him inviting food that he liked and met his dietary restrictions. They handled all medications from start to finish. They worked smoothly with visiting medical staff and later the Hospice Team. After he passed, they were efficient in organizing his things, returning rental equipment and helping us clear out his room. We would highly recommend Young at Heart to anyone in need of an Adult Family Home. Jim and Patti Hubbard.

My mom was diagnosed in October and I had to find a place for her immediately. I previewed several I wouldn't have left my dog at and then I found Young at Heart. It was like god shined down on me and told me this was the perfect place. Ema and Reg are the most caring people you could ask for and the house was so clean and cared for with a lot of love. I lost my mother on December 30 but I know she was safe and warm and loved gives me some piece of mind

Finally found a great place for my brother. He can't speak because of a brain tumor, is incontinent and can;t walk.. Ema and Reg have improved his life so much from the places he was before. He's doing more things than I thought he was capable of. They are nice, attentive, very clean and excellent cooks. They even make lasagne for him because it's his favorite. I was surprised to read a review that they couldn't take care of someone. Sounded like is was not the right place for the elder relative that couldn't stay.

I've helped my mom through several years of her journey with dementia- and we've had to move her as care needs increased. She is not at risk for elopement- but needs help with almost everything and most of all, a caring home. We found Ema and Reg through a local attorney, Joshua Pops, who helped locate their AFH. Their home is truly a family home. For the first time in years, mom is comfortable, safe, and most of all, loved and cared about as if she were their own family. Reg and Ema have been such a pleasure to know and as moms POA I'm so delighted and amazed to have such heartfelt caring at such a difficult time. I'm so glad we did find them and I know mom is too, she's finally at peace and feels like she's safe at home.

Ema and Reg are 2 of the most loving people I have ever come across. They cared for my grandfather for only 2 weeks but they gave him 2 wonderful weeks. The care they provide is above and beyond all other I have ever experienced and my family has worked in that industry for over 40 years. If your looking for someone to really care for your loved one in their final days this is the home to provide for them!

Our mother was placed at Young at Heart and stayed with the care takers for over five years. All of her emotional, spiritual and physical needs were taken care of with the utmost respect, integrity and thoughtfulness. Emma, Reg and all of the nursing staff were absolutely wonderful with her and our family. We were welcomed every visit with warmth and a smile. The home atmosphere was extremely valuable and having other patients around provided both comfort and friendship to our mom. Although at the end our mother could neither communicate nor participate in daily activities, she was always part of the family. We appreciated all of the insight and knowledge provided by the owners and staff members, especially as it related to our mom's medical care. We would highly recommend Young at Heart and feel strongly that our mom's last few years were made special. This is not just a facility, it is a family.

Our family has a long history with this facility as my grandmother and mother in law were both cared for here. Thinking about the word care what Reg and Ema do is so much more than just care. From the time you walk into this home you feel like this is the PLACE. The homey feeling, the good home cooked smells and the smiles of everyone there. It just has a loving feeling and you can rest assured that your loved ones will also be loved and cared for just like one of the family. Thank you all so much for your service, love and care. We miss you.

Very "like home" type of atmosphere. My gramma has been there for almost 4 years and ive heard no complaints. My mom was at a way overpriced institution type of facility where i still did about 50 percent of the legwork. Plus she was falling and hurting herself a couple if not multiple times a week. Now i have mom at Young @Heart and my life has become easier,she has not fallen at all and i feel very much more at ease knowing she is getting the proper care she deserves.

I feel very fortunate to have found Young at Heart when I was seeking a long term care option for my grandmother. I had been given a list of several different homes in Vancouver and went to each one in search of the right fit. Many of the places I went to seemed to have "tacked on" their equipment and care setup...as opposed to truly planning and putting out the expense to retrofit the home with the proper setups to accommodate folks like my grandmother. I was instantly impressed with the home Ema had setup with her husband Reg and found them to be both compassionate, progressional and knowledgeable in the care and home they provided. My grandmother stayed with them for several years, up until this year, where she finally passed peacefully in her sleep. She wasn't always the easiest patient for Ema...my grandmother suffered from dimensa and was resist to being cared for...and in the early years could be stubborn and challenging. But Ema, Reg and their caregivers were always patient, caring and communicative with me throughout. Initially I also had my father in a care home with ALS and was taking care of my mother personally...so I had to trust in Ema even more with my grandmother as I couldn't be as hands on with her. But not once in all these years did I doubt or question the care they were providing. Any time I came by to visit or checkin, things were always clean, welcoming and they ladies being cared for were all looking good. It continually gave me peace of mind. I have not one thing negative to say about the years they cared for my grandmother and can not recommend them enough to someone else who, like I was several years ago, struggling to navigate the waters of placing a loved one in someone's care. THIS is the place I would pick again and again if I needed to do so.
