We are about a month into our stay at the Old Metairie Gardens home and have nothing but positive things to say at this point. I researched all of our options for my dad and was pretty certain a small group home as close as possible to his home in Old Metairie, where Dad's wife still lives, would be our best choice. Any doubts I had were erased upon meeting Kelly Marks, who couldn't have been a better ambassador for the place. The move-in process was surprisingly simple in terms of paperwork. Every time I've visited, often unannounced, Dad's room is impeccable--bed already made, clean clothes hanging in closet, etc. I've popped in a couple of times at mealtime and am also impressed with the home-cooked meals, both in terms of quality and variety. Don't get me wrong--Dad would rather be at home. But that just wasn't an option anymore given the slow advance of his aphasia and its impact on his primary caregiver. We feel good that this was the next best thing.

My dad spent his final days on hospice at Peristyle Assisted Living because he needed more care than we could provide for him at home. Our family was happy with the decision to place him here. The home is beautiful and well kept, and the staff were truly caring and compassionate. Dad even thought he was at home, kept calling it his new house. I would recommend this for anyone who needs a place for their family member to receive care.

We placed my mom at the Peristyle home at 348 Lake Avenue approximately 2 weeks ago. We are very happy with the care and environment. The people that work there are professional and caring. They have accommodated every request that we have made. I can now feel comfortable leaving my mom. When I am away I don't worry at all because I know she is in good hands.

My husband of 50 years has joined the friends at OldMetairie Gardens 2. I had looked for a place for him when I was told that after five years at home, he required care that I could not give him.. This was the hardest thing I have done in my life. I looked at some larger facilities and decided that he would be lost if he was shut in his own little apartment. Dave is a people person and loves to be around others. I never imagined a place like this existed. I visit every day and even bring our little Yorky to visit all of the residents. The staff, nurses who give meds and residents are our new family. Our grandkids are welcome to visit and have been there to play games and perform music at Christmas time. This home has literally saved me. I am thankful every single day for Peristyle.There is absolutely nothing else like it. This is home and its employees are my true blessing.

The Richland House staff truly cares for their residents...everyone is very attentive and kind and the home leaves nothing to be desired. I would highly recommend the Richland House to anyone in search of an assisted living center for their loved one.

My mother spent a full year at Peristyle's Old Metairie Gardens. My review is specific to this residence. However, if the other homes are run like this was, they should also be excellent. I can say with confidence that everything that was promised was delivered. The staff was very caring and worked their schedules to incorporate my mother's needs. I kept a video monitor in the room and witnessed this caring for a whole year. Also, they kept her room clean, clean, and clean. Every time I asked for anything to be done just a little differently to accommodate Mom's wishes, it was done. She loved the food too. These folks are compassionate and are committed to running a great operation, even during COVID. Most importantly I was promised she could live out her life in place there and they kept that promise.
