I had the opportunity to meet Kaylee at a recent event and learn more about the work being done at The Pearl. Kaylee shared how The Pearl provides short-term rehabilitation and skilled nursing care for individuals recovering after surgery or hospitalization ” offering professional support beyond what family care alone can provide. It was clear from our conversation that the facility focuses on helping patients regain strength, independence, and confidence through structured rehabilitation and compassionate medical care. It’s reassuring to know there are places like The Pearl that offer this level of professional support during recovery.

While I do not take pleasure in writing this review as there are certainly some members of staff that are exceptional, I feel I must for due consideration of the next people who may be subject to rehabilitation at The Pearl. Firstly, I work for a hospital in healthcare. My grandmother was there for about 3 weeks. She’s allergic to fish, yet they served her fish sandwiches on more than one occasion. She cannot eat eggs, yet she was given eggs for breakfast nearly every other day. There were times where she had pressed her call button and it wasn’t responded to for hours some times so she sat in her own excrement as she cannot walk or stand. The air quality of the facility is horrendous, I feel they do as little as possible to properly ventilate the facility and bring in fresh air. The Flu and COVID were rampant here for weeks. The physical therapy was entirely uncoordinated, some days only having her legs massaged and doing hand movements at bedside. She was admitted due to losing the musculature to walk from kidney failure. Some physical therapists were given notes that she could stand for a minute at a time, though she hadn’t been able to stand for weeks due to sickness while admitted. These are some of the things we, as a family of 7 with multiple of us there every day, observed over the course of her stay. I’m sure there’s more but this is enough to get the point across. She was depressed, underfed and not regularly bathed or cared for except by a few caring and patient staff members. Thank you to those who do the hard work. And to the folks who may be looking at The Pearl for healthcare, the 5-star rating is through Medicare fulfillments, not patient experience. I encourage you to tour a few facilities before subjecting your loved ones to this facilities treatment.

My mother and my aunt are residents of this facility. They have resided here for a year now and expect them to reside for maybe a few more years. The staff have done their best caring for them. They are in clean clothes and their bottoms are clean. The meals are served warm and are tasty. The nursing staff and administrative staff are very accommodating. The activities staff keep the residents happy and busy with arts and crafts and BINGO. I recommend this facility to anyone who is looking to place their loved one.

My dad was battling brain cancer and received rehab here before he was deemed terminal. I highly recommend this facility. I specifically wanted to recognize one of the nurses named Kylie P. She was an absolute blessing for my dad. Her attentiveness and empathy towards my dad was truly remarkable. She consistently went above and beyond, ensuring every detail of care was handled thoroughly and thoughtfully. She would help him FaceTime me when I couldn't make it to see him some days- she even had her 4 year old daughter color pictures to hang up in his room. My dad always looked forward to seeing her every day he was there and found such comfort in her presence. She would make him laugh even in the face of his cancer battle. Whether it was providing medical assistance or offering comfort, Kylie's genuine compassion shines through in everything she does. Her kindness and professionalism made a huge difference, giving us peace of mind knowing my dad was in such caring, capable hands. I am eternally grateful for Kylie for being there for our family in the hardest time of our lives during my dad’s chemo/rehab and after he was terminal. My dad unfortunately lost his battle with cancer on August 12th 2024but we will always remember the care she provided and she is a light we will be reminded of in a very dark time for our family. You are one of a kind Kylie!

My husband had to get additional nursing care and physical therapy following a long hospital stay. When I was referred to The Pearl I went on a tour and met Rachel. I was very anxious but she made me feel at ease the minute I met her and took the time not only to tour me around but to talk and LISTEN to our needs. She assured me the staff at The Pearl would be ready to accept him and extend the care that he needed. A few days later my husband was transported there for care. He was met by staff as if he were family. Sunny and Heather, and all staff were attentive, kind and treated him with dignity. During his stay my husband said the care, food and attention was much better than he experienced during his hospital stay. The communication was the reason. Rachel and her team ensured we had any and all questions answered and if we had medical concerns she brought those forward to the nursing team. The doctor who is on staff couldn’t have been more kind, listening and attentive. Upon discharge my husband wanted to say goodbye to thank all the staff and the residents who became friends in the dining room or even at Bingo!! It’s a community of people who became a second family to my husband and we will be grateful for all of them and the kindness extended beyond what’s expected. In todays environment health care is not the best but thankfully there are still people like Rachel and her team who still care to treat not only the patient but the whole family.

Mary is at Pearl with dementia but for mobilty issues and wound care. Outstanding empathy and nursing care. Thank you for taking care of my Angel of 52 years- pearl is well run by caring people!!! The building facilities are well kept and impeccably clean. The staff is very observant and anticipates needs and observes and encourages results. The food is planned for each patients requirements and preferences. The therapies conform to the patients abilities and the family directives. I broke my leg and was there for 2 weeks! I got such great care from everyone. Physical Therapists helped me get stronger so I could be safe when I went home. The nurses were so professional and gentle when I needed my dressing changed (every day). The CNA’s were great, every time I rang, they were there so fast. If I ever have to go anywhere again, I would definitely would choose them.

My husband was there for a week and half. Some of the staff was excellent and others should look for a new job. I was there the entire day with him, the only time you would see a person was when they brought the food and to remove the food. I know they are very short staff and was dealing with Covid, but I feel the patients did not get the care they deserve. My husband was there 4 years ago and he got excellent care, can’t say that this time.
