I work as an agency nurse at Canton Oaks. As an agency nurse I have the option to avoid nursing homes or pick up shifts if I like or dislike them. Canton Oaks is one of my favorites. I've worked at many facilities from Dallas to Tyler to Bremont to Waco and I've only seen a couple that care about their residents the way this one does. They treat them as family. The staff all genuinely seem to be friends and it makes the work environment easy to work in. Everyone is helpful and knows their residents to a T so any questions I have are answered. All nursing homes have flaws. Some are down right awful. This one is a great facility and I would trust my loved ones being in their care.

Beautiful, clean, caring, thorough are just a few words to describe Canton Oaks. Shawna, Tracy and Christi were all a huge help in getting everything set up for my mom and helping me navigate through the process. The nurses have been attentive and dedicated to helping my mom heal. Thank you Canton Oaks!

The assistant nursing director came in to my dad's room screaming like a banjee. The PT and nurse I had spoken with went and twisted everything we spoke about. I have her on video. She needs an evaluation, retrained and possibly another line of work.

The Aides on hallway 300 are the best. They treat my Mother like she is family. Pam, the receptionist has always been nice & pleasant & helpful directing me to the proper person. My Mother looks forward to the activities. The physical therapist are great, again very caring. No one is perfect & the staff is busy. You have to be an advocate for your loved one whether it's in the hospital or in a Long Term facility. ***** Kathy Arnold

It is clean enough but the front door staff during Covid was a miserable wretch. Screamed and yelled at an old lady for coming to see her brother. The woman could not hear. Pam was horrible.

The nurses and nurse aides are so professional and personable to each visitor and patient. The patients are treated like they are the nurse or aides grandparent. They show love and care for each and every one.

I can NOT say enough GOOD about this facility. I have now had both of my parents at Canton Oaks for long periods of time. The staff is eager to accommodate, they're knowledgeable and compassionate and have shown such perseverance through the Covid pandemic. When my mom was there 2 years ago in her final days with a brain tumor, I can't begin to explain how loving and attentive they were to her declining health! She was treated with the utmost respect and dignity throughout some really tough days. The relationships I built with the staff was what made me know when my dad had to be admitted as a longterm resident, I could rest easy knowing he too would be taken care of with great care and respect. Dad has now been a resident for 22 months and not once have I had to question the decision to put him there long term. In a world of pandemic, lack of staff and difficult days for health care workers, Canton Oaks has been A+!! I will always be eternally grateful for their concern and compassion for my parents!!
