I am in my late 60s and underwent surgery after suffering from spinal stenosis for over two years. I asked the hospital to send me to a location close to my home and where there were Korean residents, so I ended up at the "Buenna Park Nursing Center." I arrived on the third day after surgery, stayed for 17 days, and have now returned home. I am truly grateful to Coordinator Ms. An Ji-young, Social Worker Jenny, and another staff member whose name I cannot recall, the nurses who explained everything with a smile and comforted me without worry despite my initial confusion about being admitted to a nursing home for the first time, and the CNAs who handled all kinds of difficult tasks without hesitation. In particular, I pay tribute to the young man named LIM, who reassured me not to worry, saying it was his own business, even though I had to go to the bathroom multiple times during the two days I suffered from constipation medication. It feels like I met little angels during those 17 days. I was also grateful for the willingness of Mr. Jinam and the younger staff at the Rehabilitation Center to wait patiently and help with my rehabilitation by slowly adjusting to my pace. These 17 days at the nursing home were precious moments that I experienced and felt for the first time in my 68 years of life. I am convinced that it is more than just a nursing home where patients gain strength and comfort.

My father stayed here for almost half a year, and overall it was a pleasant experience. I feel like this has been one of the better nursing homes for him; however, as in all cases, there are PROs and CONs to this place. PROs The Korean staff here are very friendly and caring As they understand the language and culture. Korean units supervisor is professional and attentive, and the charge nurses are always smiling, especially the morning staff. The food is actually decent for “hospital food.” The place is slightly dated but they keep it clean and hygienic. But most importantly, the Korean staff really seems to care, and that’s what really matters for me. CONs First of all, Like my father, More than half the patient here are of Korean descent. However, they’re only seems to be maybe two or three Korean nurses per shift. My father, like a lot of the other elderly here prefer to speak Korean to the nurses. There are no perfect nursing homes in this world, but this is a pretty good one. I would recommend to family members and friends. For those that complain, all I can say, they haven’t been to the other ones…

I visited this facility to see sister in law today. She has had a difficult eating, so she lost almost 40 to 50 lbs for few months. She has no sibling for her life. Today I pushed the red button to call a staff to a warm water as patient request by the her bed. Several times, no one of staff responds at all. It seems ignorant to the patient. If she is one of their family, they have to respond the request rightway. They work here for the patient.

I just want to take a moment to share my experience, as this was my first time having my parents stay in a nursing home. After a fall, they were sent to the ER, and from there, it was recommended they be discharged to a skilled nursing facility for rehabilitation. As you can imagine, I was overwhelmed and nervous. The unknowns kept me up at night—were they eating well? Sleeping okay? Were they being taken care of? Were their needs being met? So many questions and worries clouded my mind. But I can honestly say that every single visit put my heart at ease. I stayed for hours, making sure they were doing okay, and each time, I saw how well they were recovering. The staff was kind, attentive, and truly dedicated to their care. I’ve heard some horror stories about nursing homes, so I’m beyond grateful that my experience was the complete opposite. I want to especially thank the incredible staff at Buena Park Nursing Center, especially Jenny and Kelly, the social workers who were my lifeline throughout this journey. I bombarded them with questions (so many!) but not once did they ever make me feel like I was a burden. They were always patient, caring, and genuinely concerned about my parents’ well-being. They made all the difference for me, and I’m so thankful for their kindness and professionalism. My parents were discharged a week and a half ago, and I’m happy to report they’re doing wonderfully at home, receiving physical therapy and loving it. While I can’t speak for everyone’s experience, I’m writing this to share my positive experience at Buena Park Nursing Center. Jenny and Kelly are absolute superstars, and I’ll always be grateful for their support!

My mother Jung Ji Suh was staying at this facility for 2 months. Many staffs were great, but I would like to recognize Christian (LVN) as his excellent bedside manner to mother. He always greeted my mother and other patients with great smile care. Dorilla Rodriguez (CNA) was always concerned as mother couldn't eat food. She even wen extra miles by gaving mother a shower on a Sunday which was not the day to provide shower as she knew mother didn't get it for past several days and wanted it. She did all this with great smile on her face. Jenny Chung (Nutritionist) brought some food from home and provided to mother as mother had no appetite. With her food and great care, mother slowly regained her appetite, and able to recover quickly. Her going extra miles showed me how much she cared for patient, and her dedication to her work. Kelly Kim (Social Service) for her in-depth knowledge and providing all the information on a very timely manner. It have been frustrating for her as I called her often, but she always responded nicely in a very professional manner. Christian, Dorilla, Jenny, and Kelly, your dedicated service to my mother and to your work really helped her to recover quickly. I really appreciate you guys, and rest of the staffs at Buena Park Nursing Center. Your service was above and beyond and I truly appreciate it. Thank you so much. You guys are amazing!

This is a place I highly recommend, and five stars are not enough. I brought my father here right after surgery after a fall, and the unfamiliar environment was a bit unsettling. The first day, I was hesitant to leave him there alone. The next day, I had a meeting with the supervisor, coordinator, social worker, rehabilitation team, dietitian, nurse, activities, and worship team. They provided detailed explanations and care, and I experienced firsthand how they cared for him like my own parents. This made me feel safer than at home. Everyone here is united and systematic, and the Korean team at the hospital is especially great. ‘

I have to say that I have found the facility to be very efficient. Staff are well trained, residents look great and happy, the physical plant looks great and you feel welcome every time you go there. Early on, I think we had some communication issues with Buena Park. Some of these were language barriers, plus I live on the East Coast so all of my interactions were over the telephone. Once we worked through the issues and I was able to come to Buena Park and see the facility in person, I now see the level of care and I see how my family member is being treated. I can easily forgive communication issues when I see my “brother” getting top quality care by people who appear to care more about quality of care than almost anything else. I now know, he is in the best hands!

I can never sufficiently thank BPNC for the care they gave my mom. The staff is so dedicated and compassionate from the social workers, administrators, nurses, CN's. Most of us don't want to see the aging, sick and dying yet these people choose to dedicate their careers to them. Through our time here, I saw how patient and caring the staff were with all the patients. Kelly, Calvin, Kim Beneki, so many incredible people here to list. They are well staffed at every level, they keep the environment hospital clean and my mom who is a very picky eater liked the food. I will never forget the amazing people here.

My mom was recently transferred to Buena Park Nursing Center from a hospital in Orange. The transition from the hospital to BPNC was very impressive. The admission process was simple and fast. A meeting was scheduled right after the admission to go over the treatment plan and available services at BPNC. At the meeting, Jenny (Social Service Director) explained the services my mom would received. Jiyoung (Coordinator) answered all questions I had accurately. Alice (Activity Director) showed all activities that may improve my mom's conditions. Mikyung (RN) and her team at the nursing station were very helpful. Especially, my mom expressed her gratitude on the PT team and the room cleaning team. Thank you for taking care of my mom.

After the surgery I was recommended to go to rehabilitation for recovery. I chose buena park nursing center because my own mom was here few years ago and I remembered good things about this place. When I arrived, myra and her admission team greeted me upon arrival. I felt very welcomed. Then nurse who was in charge also came to talk with me and did body check. Then more people came to visit me to introduce who they were and what they do. Honestly I can't remember everyone's name. But I would like to especially thank my treatment nurse who took care of me with wound healing after surgery. Nurse Rachel and Maricor were my best wound nurses. I'm also grateful for my station nurses who gave my medications and checking on me each shift. And my cnas helped me with shower and assisted me when i needed them. You nurses are true heroes and I saw how hard they worked. Frequently housekeeper came to empty trash and kept my room very clean. My physical therapist and occupational therapist were exceptionally good. They were super friendly and motivated me to do more exercises. Their activity was entertaining and I attended every activity when I was there. They make it so fun and exciting. Their social service guided me with discharge process by connecting me with home health and other resources. I'm home safe and I will definitely will go back if I need rehabilitation in the future. Let me start by saying it is my actual first time writing a review for any facility or anywhere. I don't give out 5 stars to anyone unless they meet and exceed my expectations. I would like to extend my deepest gratitude and appreciation to the Buena Park Nursing Center nurses and CNAs in the Korean ward along with the management team. Buena Park Nursing Home is the most wonderful place with an amazing staff! The staff genuinely care about the residents, especially Jenny Um, the manager of the social work department as a social worker. Jenny Um is an absolutely wonderful and amazing social worker to be engaged with when it comes to social work. Jenny helped with everything that my father needed from smaller things to bigger matters. I just wanted to say thank you to Buena Park Nursing Center for taking such good care of my father! And I have to recognize the best social worker I have ever met, Jenny Um once again for being such a great helper to a person who does not know of any of the benefits for the parent. After receiving treatment for a month, they were discharged. Thanks to the Korean physical therapists and nurses, the patient was able to stay comfortably without any inconvenience despite not being able to speak English, and was discharged. She lives alone in a senior apartment, but after a fall and back injury, she needed surgery and physical therapy and rehabilitation, so she ended up receiving help at a nursing home. I was looking for a place for my dad and got referred to this place by a friend. I was given a tour by their admissions person. Place is very clean and surprisingly, all the staff were friendly and greeted me as if I they have known me for years… and I mean surprisingly because the 2 other places that I went prior felt like the staff is crying to get out of there so this was really a breath of fresh air. I was also introduced to the Administrator and The Nursing Director who were very friendly and accommodating, answering to all my questions. All in all, it was refreshing to see a facility that welcomes everyone and with a smile on their faces. I felt that with this environment, my dad will be taken cared of and will flourish. My family and I are ready to bring our dad here once everything else has been taken cared off on our end.

My parents have been Buena Park Nursing Center for two weeks lately. All of family members were worried because everybody lives out of states. We called every day to know how my parents are doing there. They said every staff and nurses are very kind and good taking care of them health care and personal care like as laundry, bathing, etc. Especially Director Ms.Kim. This place is truly a source of gratitude for our entire family. In particular, Director Kimberly cares for and cherishes them as if they were her own parents, helping our whole family feel at ease. My Mom and Dad are staying at the Buena Park Nursing Center and they are very happy. All the staffs that I spoke are very professionals and super friendly. My mom is a very old Korean lady who doesn't speak a single English word. She fell on a very hard floor because of her chronic heart disease. She got injured very seriously. After spending 3 months in the hospital, she came here to Buena Park Nursing Center. During the 3 months when she was in the hospital, I wasn't able to see my mom the entire time because of the hospital's visitor policy during COVID 19 so couldn't take care of her as I wanted. So when she moved to BP Nursing Center, I really wanted her to be taken care of very well, and staffs at BPNC fulfilled my need. On top of everything, my mom got so much better in general. When she was in the hospital, she couldn't even do basic things and her cognitive function was poor. After spending some time at BPNC, she almost fully returned to her normal condition. Small requests from my mom (like turning the TV on or making phone calls to me, etc) are done very quickly by the Korean activity coordinators. Even on their day-offs, they always answered my miscellaneous questions via text message very kindly. This became one of the reasons I got to trust BPNC even more firmly.
